real cases before a real judge plaintiff Dale Danner says his daughter started dating the defendant after they met in AA and Dale thought he was a good guy however over time Dale claims that defendant started abusing alcohol again along with meth and fantinel and he became physically abusive to Dale's daughter he's suing him today for the balance do in a car defendant Adam Johnson says he was near death when he went to AA and started dating Dale's daughter Adam claims he was finally starting to build his life up but Dale's daughter became verbally abusive and it negatively affected his well-being start with you Adam and Joanne met an AA in uh May of 2021 and as time went on they started dating and um we uh had ad him over to our house many times for dinner we've gone out for dinner um taken him to Wild Games hockey games and we felt that he was part of the family um as far as him uh joining or wanting to join the church that my daughter went to and being confirmed so we considered Adam part of our family you mean by being confirmed I mean not confirmed excuse me baptized he was baptized how did that come about oh well he wanted to join the church that she was she belonged to and he was taking adult information classes and um he wanted to be baptized because he had never been baptized all right yeah so and you're a Christian yes sir want me say something about suing or that thou Shel not something about suing you're not supposed to sue sir yeah I think the Bible says that doesn't it say that you know your Bible if you going doesn't it say you're not supposed to soup or collect debts or something yeah Sue not l g be sued or something like that it's in here and I'm more look you won't help me but I'm going find it check uh Deuteronomy 12 verse 27 I think it is uh suing sue sue I guess she can then something says about that though so well suffer that's the same thing when you a you suffering get Su you CA it a man to suffer the Bible says Thou shalt not cause suffering aren't you suffering he go ahead sir I'll give you pass anyway I'll forgive I'll pray for your forgiveness go ahead you're not supposed to sue sir you think the Bible says that doesn't it say that you know your Bible if you going doesn't it say you're not supposed to Sue or collect debts or something Sue not L GB sued or something like that it's in here and I'm going to look you won't help me but I'm going find it defendant Adam Johnson is being sued by his ex-girlfriend's father who claims Adam abused meth and fentel and physically abused his daughter whatever type of God you believe in I believe Temple Chapel Church synagogue mosque mosque all of those are places to go that will add value to your life even if you don't believe in God it adds value teaches you the lessons that really come from natural law I read a book now um he's the Avid Christian and he goes all the way back to billions of years just like astronomy does and he matches that up with creationism and doesn't consider the sday creation oh yeah uh as literal in other words that seven days was actually 20 billion years or whatever the case and so I say that to say uh you can study and learn more and that's what I think uh Christians should do uh learn more than what the preacher says cuz some preachers you don't learn anything but how to give them some money all right so congratulations you still in the church or they put y out I'm in the church great they didn't put him out not that I know of if you're owe a debt I think they put you out too yeah if you owe a debt you can't chase a debt and you can't oh1 both y'all breaking the uh scripture go ahead sir give me more how did he and your daughter get along as get along fine it's my wife and I uh thought that Adam was a good uh thing for my daughter and as time went on um we he asked me to uh if he was all right if he married her and I said yes but then in 2022 we found out that Adam was verbally and mentally um and physically abusive to my daughter um and at that time we also found out that he had been using alcohol again they were both alcoholics correct or are correct recovering at I assume yes go ahead and we found out through our daughter um that he had been using alcohol again and meth and fentol when they met an AA were those his drugs of choice that he had had used in the past not that my wife and I were aware of how about your daughter did she say Dad I kind of know for a fact that he was using crystal meth and Fenton know before I met him no all right now how many years they had only dated one year uh from uh May of 2021 until May of 2022 y'all don't like to give me my credit that's what that's what I don't like about this job nobody wants to give me credit my kids Linda they say I'm think I'mma know it all they think my ego's too big because I'm right I'm right what have I always said about couples that get together and the onee point what have always said takes a year four you can find out about a crack habit and sir how long was it before you all found out he was a dop a year a [Laughter] year you're right I believe it was a day before a year so don't don't put me at a year I said you'll find out within a year and sure enough that's why I say folks give it a year before you commit permanently to someone because you'll be able to see some uh symptoms for lack of a better term and how did she find out your daughter well Adam had lost a lot of weight he went when she first met him I believe he weighed 285 lbs and how many did he lose uh I'm guessing around 160 okay thought you going to accuse me I've lost 25 lbs in 5 months so of course M play tricks on me so first my side is hurting right my brother Steve died of pancreatic cancer at age 58 then felt like my stomach was hurting well my mother died at age 49 of colon cancer then one day I'm sitting up and I go to coffin and then I go to walking I'm in New York and I'm tired I'm out of breath I said oh it's l not not remembering that is 90 and humid right as you can get and you if you've walked around New York you know everything yeah you walking everywhere so not thinking about that oh now I got lung cancer and so I say that to say weight loss is not indicative of all drug use and we found out through our daughter um that he had been using alcohol all again and meth and fent when they met in AA did she say Dad I kind of know for fact he was using crystal meth and fome before I met him no defending Adam Johnson is being sued by his ex-girlfriend's father who claims Adam abused meth and fentel and physically abused his daughter let me give you um a time to give me some background on this case okay well I came to know Dale and his daughter Joanne when I was in treatment um we knew each other for a long time when we were active Dr uh drinkers or drunks um which is all that I am um say it again sir just an a a drunk that's all that I've ever been that's why I ended up in recovery there you go um by the time I was come in and say that about themselves that means they're in recovery it was uh part of the kind of the Town culture small town there's nothing to do but drink and have a bonfire and uh by the time I was a teenager i' had taken that too far was going to jail treatment things like that dropped out of school got my GED just so I could work to have money basically to drink um and by the time I was in my 20s I was homeless and by the time I was 30 I was on the edge of death 240 lbs blood pressure through the roof something had to give and I didn't want to die um so I went to treatment I met this woman who I had hated all her existence and she hated me and for some reason we liked each other it's like a Disney Story We clicked and I started to build my life back up and I believe that gave character you know background for me changed her perspective on me she was supportive it changed my perspective on her um I have evidence of cards that were exchanged not tell me what happened with the relationship um well it it it seemed like the more I progressed my good luck and Fortune was taking a you know a resentment tone from her uh behind closed doors she would tell me I never earned anything that I just got by on help or slicking people and to go from being a felon with no bank account his whole life and living under bridges to have a 700 credit score I busted my butt I had two jobs I lost my weight because I was always working and when you go home and you're being bered by the person you're working for you don't sleep well you don't eat well you don't feel good and that's what it is I problems and some and that's why I've lost the weight and I share the same story that you do my wife tells me that I don't do anything I don't earn any money and I said what do you think I'm going on these planes every week going to Chicago to tape and oh that ain't work she said it's not work go ahead head sir so we together on that and that's why I don't sleep and I don't eat right but I ain't doing no crystal meth over my wife ain't driving me to that she he said your woman drove you to Crystal M no no tell me what happened then she he says you relapsed and that began this downfall that caused you to be here today you tell me that part you heard him call you that so I think you should address it well once we moved in together it just got worse and I didn't know what to do she'd wake me up in the night you know talking all kinds of you know you're garbage I can't believe you did this you did that I wore that as a badge of an honor in uh recovery to tell people I've come from here all the way to here I'm proud there you go and she didn't want me to be publicly saying that you know now I'm attached to this person who's disgusted by who I am needed my help at one point I was able to be a rock help when she slipped get her into treatment do all the things I used all the skills that I learned along the way to help her get back on her feet and I think that was a tone that set a ball rolling for I don't want to tough were you in the depths of drugs more than she in the past over the course of years I'm trying to think maybe you cleaned up so much better than she did that created envy that he's stronger he's more assertive that could make people jealous a uh well any of the times that I experimented with anything other than drinking I was a young kid and I saw it go downhill quick and I ran I never let it but he says the most recent relapse uh it was crystal meth and Quintel it was just Irish whiskey and a a fearful relationship all where you get this from sir did he was uh he relapsed into that it uh was revealed to my daughter by him um that he was hospitalized for fence meth and alcohol and that never happened she was at my house harassing me trying to get a picture of did it happen no okay I went to detox for drinking okay and I came out and they said where have you been where have you been first of all none of your business we we ain't together and secondly my health is my health and to say that I had done this or that is accusatory in nature to defame me to her father we had a good rapport prior to that and then it slipped away and I think that that was partially the casee how long ago did she tell you that because he don't look like a dope fiend right now I know a dope fend when I see him huh um she had stopped by because he had mail of hers that how long ago did she claim he was on crystal meth and Fen how long ago it was in uh June I think or uh May of 2022 okay of 2022 correct all right you don't bounce back looking as stable as he does and looking as well-kept as he does with a crystal meth INF fenal habit I don't know I'm almost with him in terms of your daughter being so angry that she want to hurt his reputation where do we get the $5,000 uh loan from on the car tell me what happened okay um in February of uh 2022 um him and my daughter were sharing her car to get back and forth to work um and that was creating quite a problem as far as Logistics and and everything for the both of them so I said to him I will loan you the money to buy this car and we had a gentleman's agreement that he would pay me $300 a month until the car was paid off and if you look at uh page 23 of my packet um it shows that he made three payments you haven't told me what the agreement was I know it was 5,000 when was it to be repaid he was going to pay me $300 a month there you go until the car was P off until it's paid off did he no how much did he pay $900 okay pay something I came to noale and his daughter Joanne when I was in treatment um we knew each other for a long time when we were active Dr uh drinkers or drunks um which is all that I am um say it again sir just an a a drunk that's all I've ever been that's why I ended up in recovery there you go um by the time I was come in and say that about themselves that there in recovery defendant Adam Johnson is being sued by his ex-girlfriend's father who claims Adam abused meth and fentel and physically abused his daughter Sor what do you say to this well um we were in hard times sharing the vehicle um I was working on the other side of the Twin Cities uh but I was willing to get up early in the morning I already had to when she was in treatment to take her to work and stuff like that I was getting up at 4:00 in the morning borrowing her vehicle knowing it was her vehicle always offering you could drop me off that was an inconvenience for her she would rather you know I be there to pick her up when she ready the other not wait around for me and I did whatever I could to work it um she didn't want to share a vehicle I couldn't work out the bus across town to get who asked him for the money he said accept help when it's offered she vly saidd do not ask for a dime leave him out of it this is your problem he told me to accept a gift when it's offered or help when it's offered and she had said explicitly do not borrow money from my father so why did you he said to accept a gift and help you saying it's a gift and not a loan gift and help one offered he told me I deserve are you saying it's a gift or or a loan a gift all right right and why do you pay 9900 on a gift uh every time he asks for payment she comes around kind of like a bad guy enforcer and harasses me has and they did that three months in a row she just recently broke my window when we har about we're not together so I have to pay I should suffer because we're not together anymore I kicked her out because of her behavior and now that we're not together he wants his money he shouldn't he shouldn't have to suffer is her opinion but she's threatening me and damaging the vehicle that's between you and her you're honor that you borrowed money from him or accepted money from him directly correct I accepted a car directly from him correct from the dealership I have the certification with my name on do me for the pl if have a good day paid 900 on it indicates guilt bye I'm sorry that it went this far and um we had a gentleman's agreement that you would pay me and um you had uphold your end of the deal thank you for everything and please tell your daughter to leave me alone I don't just stop with I mean she bashed my car window no we did she did not do it she was out of town I have witnesses really mhm I'd like to see the uh video police reports are being filed I I don't believe you you're a known liar you continuously lie and um I don't believe you okay well kick rocks
