hi loves welcome back to our channel this is jerry from jimmy craft shop and for today's video i'm going to be customizing my nintendo switch light in one of our last videos i did an unboxing haul video on these really cute rilakkuma themed switch accessories and that inspired me to give my switch a makeover so this is what my switch looks my switch light looks like now it's got this really cute um skin from sticky bunny co sorry if the screen's kind of dirty um so since i want to give it a makeover and make it kind of match this theme i've decided to switch the skin out for just a solid pink skin and i made this pretty little rhinestone case to match it and i used these stickers from the same theme so i'm gonna put this stuff aside and start with taking this charm off and putting the skin on first so first i'm going to move this stuff aside so that we can have more room to work with all right the skin that i'm using is this um skin from stickybunnyco.com i'm sorry it's actually stickybunny.com you can see all the info here and i'm using the color baby pink i get asked a lot if i use um pastel pink or baby pink and i personally prefer the baby pink because it's the lightest and i like a super pastel pink like light pink so first things first i want to remove this skin that i already have on it um i did do one video removing a skin and it was on the switch not the switch light so and it wasn't a sticky bunny co skin so i'm really interested in seeing how this one peels off i'm not sure where i want to start maybe the front piece i think i'm going to start with the front piece and i think i'm going to start peeling like at this edge over here so what i'm going to do first is i'm going to take this heating gun it's a crafting heating tool and i'll put a link in the description for you guys and i'm just going to turn it on and kind of heat up around the area so that the adhesive kind of loosens up and it'll be easier to peel [Music] i'm gonna grab a tweezer i'm gonna start from here and try to get under the skin so that i can peel it up i'm wondering if trying with my nail might be a little easier okay there we go i think i got an edge up now that i got a little piece of it pulled up i'm just gonna use my fingers and grab the piece and try to pull the entire front piece off and if you want to watch how i put this skin on and when i customize it to look like this i'll put a link so that you guys can watch that video too if you're interested all right that came off pretty easily and it didn't leave any residue at all so i'm pretty happy with that i'm going to go ahead and do the same thing on the back side [Music] so this one seems to be peeling off easily as well and it doesn't seem to be leaving any residue behind [Applause] uh i'm doing the bottom piece [Music] [Music] all right i think that's all of the little skin pieces so now we're back to our original grain nintendo switch line so now i'm going to go ahead and work on putting the new baby pink colored skin on the switch i'm going to start with this front piece which is one big piece so i feel like it's the easiest to do um all right i'm gonna start by just peeling it up and making sure that these little cut out pieces especially these tiny little cut out pieces stay on the sheet and don't get pulled up [Music] okay i'm gonna set this aside and i don't know if you can tell but right here the little little piece of the sticker got stuck so i'm gonna pull that off and throw that out so that it doesn't mess me up i'm going to start by lining up the like you want to pick something to line it up with so i think i'm going to try to make sure that the d-pad and the buttons are lined up because this skin is actually a really exact fit so i don't want to leave too much room for error i'm going to lift this side up and start by putting down this left side all right so i kind of have it lined up and i feel like it lines up well on this side but these buttons aren't lining up well so i'm going to pull it lift it up and pull it a little more to the left so that this lines up better and the buttons line up better [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so i'm pretty happy with this placement i think it looks good around the the buttons so before i like press it all the way down what i'm going to do is grab this silicone tool it's basically just a nail tool that has silicone ends and i'm going to use this to apply the pressure and try to apply the skin smoothly so i'm just going to around the whole face and around all of the buttons [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so now that i'm happy with how that looks and how the area around the buttons and everything looks i did leave i don't know if you can tell this area around the edges um out i didn't press it down because i've noticed that usually when you press these down they'll kind of scallop and wrinkle so what i want to do first is use this heat gun to apply a little bit of heat so that way when i press the sides down they'll adhere a lot more smoothly so you can see here on the edge it's really smooth it isn't wrinkly or anything and that's what i wanted on this rounded edge these um more like flat edges are easy to just do with your finger and they don't tend to wrinkle because they aren't as rounded as the corners here it's like you see how i'm trying to press this corner and it's already like wrinkly and scallopy i'm going to take my heat gun to all of the corners [Music] [Music] [Music] okay now that i'm really happy with that application i'm going to go ahead and flip it over and work on doing the back piece so the back piece is this big piece and it also includes like these two side pieces so that's something that you want to be careful with all right i'm going to start the same way just pulling it from here [Music] upward so i don't know if you noticed when i was pulling but a few of the little sticker pieces like here and here those are holes for the um screws are still on there and that might mess up my application so i'm going to go ahead and try to pop those out right now and i'm just using sorry i'm clumsy i'm just using the sharper and it's not really sharp but the pointed end of my silicone tool to pop those out and you really want to be careful because sometimes they'll fold back like that and then it'll mess up the texture of your skin so make sure if it sticks on you pull it off okay so i'm gonna put this on the same way that i did the other one but this by picking somewhere to line it up with and i think i'm going to use this area here to line the skin up oh and also this sd card so i'm gonna make sure that all of this bottom section is lined up before i press anything down [Music] okay so here it looks pretty lined up but i don't know if you can tell this on this side the screw buttons are like way off so i'm thinking it just needs to get pulled down a little on the right so i'm gonna lift up which is easy because i didn't press down and just ever slightly make sure that the [Music] these holes are also lined up okay from this view it looks like everything is pretty well lined up i'm going to start pressing it down and hope that the top is also lined up so i'm just pressing very lightly from the center and pressing towards the sides outward like that and now i'm going to flip it over and check if these line up at the top here seems to be lining up pretty well with the vent holes here and the earphone jack there and it seems like everything's lining up here too so i'm going to go ahead now and i'm going to take my heat tool this tool here and i'm going to um lightly go over the entire area of the skin so that it will be easier to smooth all of these edges down [Music] now that i've applied the heat you can kind of see more like wrinkles in the skin so i'm gonna take um anything hard and flat i'm gonna use this and um just like kind of squeegee or press down in the center working outward [Music] you can see some bubbles kind of here so i'm just gonna keep pushing those trying to work them outward until they disappear this bubble is kind of persistent so i'm gonna try heating it up a little to see if that will help that doesn't seem to help much and i know most people wouldn't probably wouldn't mind that but it's bothering me quite a bit so what i'm going to do is pull up on this side just until i get past that bubble make sure that there isn't anything here like obstructing nose just an air bubble and now i'm going to press down with this tool and like smooth it out slowly to try and get that air bubble okay that looks pretty good to me and pretty smooth there's a tiny air bubble there but that's not bothering me too much right now so i'm gonna go ahead and apply heat to these edges and kind of rub those out and also this side here [Music] here i'm seeing a little bit of wrinkling so i'm going to take my heat tool [Music] and now my silicone tool and try to smooth that area out so it's less bumpy and wrinkly okay i think that helped a lot actually there so do the same thing here and when i apply the heat i only do like a couple or a few seconds at a time you don't want to like just leave it on one spot for too long okay that looks pretty smooth i'm gonna do the same thing on this side now [Music] again i'm going to put the heat here and then smooth it out with the tool i want to try my finger first and then the fine details will smooth out with the tool i kind of have a wrinkle there but it's not too bad okay now here you're gonna see it's kind of wrinkly because it's really rounded so i'm going to go ahead and apply the heat there and smooth it out and then i'll apply the heat here and smooth this area out [Music] you want to be careful with really thin areas like this because you can easily stretch them too much or rip them so you want to be really gentle when you're placing or pulling or doing anything with a really thin area like that okay that looks good [Music] i think that looks pretty good the back and the front look really good so all that's left to do is this area here and the small areas like the sd card slot the game card slot and these two little areas in between the triggers so i'm gonna go ahead and do that now [Music] [Music] [Music] okay now that the holes seem pretty lined up to me i'm gonna go ahead and apply a little bit of heat and try to smooth out the edges here and here actually you know what i think i'm going to pull up because right here doesn't seem to be lining up very well so i'm going to pull it up just a little and be very very careful not to pull on this part because i'll just stretch that thin layer so i'm going to pull it up and pull out just very little bit so that that lines up better [Music] okay so now you can see the edges are really like wrinkly and scallopy so i'm going to heat those up and then press them down for a smoother [Music] look [Music] [Music] okay i think that looks good now i'm just going to put the little tiny pieces on [Music] [Music] so [Music] i find this part a little bit tricky because it's not just like flat it's really rounded and it kind of also curves so you kind of have to be careful with this little piece of sticker and kind of place it and then curve it and since it's all wrinkly like that i'm going to apply a little heat to try to smooth it out [Music] i think that looks good just do the same thing on this side [Music] all right it's done i think it looks really good we applied all the pieces and i'm actually really happy with this application so all right now that we got the switch to look this pretty pink color we can give it a really cool makeover so the first thing that i want to do is put this um rhinestone case on it i made this case myself if you're unfamiliar with our shop we make really cute um phone case and like nintendo accessories and charms and keychains and all kinds of cute things if you have a chance please check our shop out so anyway i made myself this case to match the theme i used some of the stickers from both of these sticker sheets these were my favorite stickers and i use them to make these resin pieces so i'm really happy with this i'm going to go ahead and put it on the switch it's really easy you just get this back plate and stick it down like this snap it in and i really like this one because it has like a little grip in the back and then you just grab the front plate and you snap that right in like this there you go all right so this is how the finished case looks once it's on your device it's really sparkly and pink and cute so i'm really happy with it um the next thing that i want to do to give it that really cool makeover is a pair of joycon grips what's up they're not joycons i'm sorry um joystick joystick thumbstick grips i'm gonna use this brand new pack that i got i'll put a link in the description if you guys are interested in getting it for yourself and the reason that i got this pack is because it comes with these really neat little switch buttons so these are like little caps that you okay so first you get this double stick tape and you stick it onto your buttons and then you grab these button caps and stick them on top and so you get cute new buttons without having to um like swap out the shell and everything but it says here that it's for switch so i'm not sure if these caps fit on the switch light so i'm not gonna try that just yet i'm gonna just put the um grips on [Music] and i'm just doing like a trick that you guys showed me on one of our videos a long time ago where you just kind of fold it back like this and then stick it where you want and then fold the sides down like that awesome on my first i'm customizing nintendo switch video because i've done a few of these videos customizing my switch and my switch light i had like the hugest hardest problem putting these on and then one of you guys was really sweet enough to show me this method and now i always use them it's just so easy so thank you guys so much for always being like really cool and sharing your secrets with me all right now that those are on that looks so cute i think that really made the look and i think they're supposed to be like kitten paws but i like to think of them as bear paws when i have like a really kuma theme going on so okay now that we have the case on and the grips on the next thing that i want to do is put a charm and i didn't make a specific charm for this case so i'm just going to use this charm that i've i've used in the past and i made this little bow charm myself we do sell these on our website and they um you can add it to your order to match your switch case or your phone case or whatever you order and then this one is just a cute little curly kuma plushie charm that i got when i was in japan but if you're interested in getting one of these for yourself i'll put a link in the bio i'm in the link in the description where you can get it yourself and i um attach them to this little dust plug this is like an earphone jack dust plug and they're made to protect your earphone jack from dust and some of them have a little hole at the top so what i did is i put a little o-ring through that hole and now i connect my charms to it so that i can be able to put charms on my switch and on my switch light so if you want one if you show up on our website and you order a switch case or you order any charms um we'll give you one of these for free with a hoop on it just um ask for it in your order notes or let us know that you want one included in your order we'll throw that in for you guys so this is how the charm looks it's super cute i'm really happy with it i like the gold because it matches with the little gold foils that are in the stickers really happy with that so the next thing that i want to do is decorate my card game case so the card game case is the same theme as the two cases and the case that i made so this one it carries 12 um games and right now i've been using this one that i used in um customizing my switch if you want to watch that i'll put a link to it so i'm going to go ahead and take my games out of this one and put them in here this is just a few of the games that i have and um i'm also going to decorate the inside with a few of these really cute rilakkuma stickers to kind of keep it in theme like i did this one so if you want to see me decorate my switch in this theme i'll link that below as well okay so i'm gonna put the games in first and then i'll decorate they snap in really easy like like this like it feels like a really secure like snap fit which is what i really like about these kind and they carry 12 games which is really good another reason why i really like them and they're really sturdy and they they usually come with a sticker on both sides and then if you want to open this side it's like this and if you want to open this side it's like this so kind of like an accordion style type of thing so what i'm going to do is decorate the inside with some of the stickers of the same thing because that's what i usually like to do i'm going to show you guys the two stickers so you guys can see how cute they are and decide for yours i'll put a link um to where you can get these stickers in the description too so if you end up getting these cases and you want to do the same thing um we can match and that would be cool so i'll show you guys where to get all this stuff and you can all luckily all of this stuff is still available so you guys can grab any of these things if you wanted to give your switch the same makeover i'm going to start with this sheet and this one right here is one of my favorite because i was really coming clearly come on kaguma-chan all dressed up in little outfits so i'm going to grab that one first and i'm going to put it here next i think i'm going to pick this one with curly cumin her little overalls because i think that's so cute and i'm going to stick her right there and then i think i want to grab some of these cute little outfits because i just think they're so adorable and kind of just like like the socks is so cute i'm gonna stick that here and then like maybe this little cute white shirt and then for the bottom one last piece i think i'm going to use this one that has all of them on there with their cute little outfits i'm gonna put that one down here and then another really useful way to use your silicone tool is to um use it to push down any of your stickers and smooth them out and make sure that they don't have any air bubbles also because if there's like an edge of your sticker popping up it's more likely to like peel and fray and get messed up later so it's nice to be able to smooth your stickers down like that i think that side looks good so i'm going to go ahead and start adding to this now i think i'm going to start picking from the other sticker sheet actually because now that i'm looking at it just because she doesn't even look used i really like this one where they're on the scooter and they have their little plushies and stuff in their backpacks because it matches the pouch so i think i'm gonna just use this one big sticker oh it's so cute and i'm gonna put that one just right in the middle and i think that'll look so cute right there oh yes i love it i'm so weird like little things like that make me so happy and excited but yeah so that's just a way to kind of make your card game a little custom a little more personalized just pick your favorite stickers and put them inside and kind of makes it happy inside too okay now that we've taken care of that next thing is just picking a case so i have these two cases and if you want to learn more about them you can watch the unboxing and review video that i did on these but basically this one is a carrying case and this one is a pouch this one will only fit your switch in it but it'll protect it so i usually like to use a pouch like this when i'm home because like if i'm gonna go downstairs i'm gonna go outside or i'm just gonna leave my switch on my bed i want it to be protected so i'll just use something simple like this but if i'm going to be traveling or going out or doing something i like to use a hard protective case like this because it really protects your switch and because it carries a lot more inside so this is how it looks inside and we're going to first take off the charm all you do is pull it out of the headphone jack like that i'm going to put that aside for a second and put it i usually like to put it this way face up because this this guy right here will protect your screen and um if you're wondering yes it fits really well with the um rhinestone case or any hard protective case still on the switch there's still room to move around and it's not it's not too uncomfortable so i just pull this down and there is room here to put games if you only wanted to take a few games with you or if you didn't want to get the carrying case you can put your games here but i like this pouch for putting the carrying the card the card game case in here like this and then i like to grab my charm and put it in here another thing you can put in here is like headphones if you're going out or you're going to take a metro or a bus or you don't want to bother people with the sound of your switch you can take some small headphones and stick them in there too so that's how it looks in there and it closes up pretty well with everything in it that's how it looks and yeah so that's that's my rilakkuma makeover i hope you guys enjoyed it um if you did enjoy the video please don't forget to give it a thumbs up and subscribe and let us know what you think if you like this makeover and if you'd like to see any other um custom switch makeovers let me know what thing you'd be interested in seeing thanks a lot love you guys kitty and jerry
