Battle of the banners players the - players that and again green tea is not new to tetris he is a certified Grandmaster a chess grandmaster yeah I think on all 303 Japan so he is obviously a Tetris expert he's got the tetris brain he sees the blocks when he's falling you know what he's sleeping and everything but you know the fact that he was able to transition from tetris the grand master to nest tetris this quickly this facet in one year be one game away from the grand finals is amazing but Jonas is seven-time champion this is currently the greatest in the world and we'll see how he holds up with this hey look if you're gonna become champion you want to go through the greatest in the world right so if you're a green team this is this is the match you want you want to take him down right now and of course we could see right here both of the newcomers like I said it won't say you because our green tea is 37 I think I said yes 37 but um both of them both of the newer players lot more emotive lot more smiles yeah no I green teas a lot of fun to watch but then again throw is Jonas and I actually know my mistake he's 20 years old Green Team is 20 years old sorry that's my bad it's the Asian thing it's the Asian thing okay look I couldn't believe it if he's 27 all right so a 30/70 whatever he wants but I remember the recent Jonas interview no Jonas says he enjoys it a lot more when he can he can pal around and he can have fun you know even if he's talking to his opponent and just hanging out and I see smiles from both players right now so I'm just really happy for both of them that they're gonna get to have this matchup and I think Jonas is gonna be really happy with what happens with this just because green tea is it so much fun to be around all right so it looks like they're getting themselves ready of course Jonas like I said it's worth playing amazing and one of the things about him is that he laughs I mean I've seen it on so many times where he'll go down in score he'll be behind my like three Tetris but because he's so solid because he's so consistent he's just gonna make it although he's just gonna count on you topping out and then he'll just slowly but surely pass you up yeah a match I've seen a few times is last year's match where Alex Boye had a huge lead and then Jonas just started slamming down back-to-back tetris is like crazy so you could see that kind of that kind of comeback come out of Jonas so yeah never count about alright so here we go well we didn't get a chance to count him in but they're just gonna go they're just gonna go for it how rude no I'm just kidding alright I think it's just them having fun they know oh you know this is gonna be a good match so it's good to see smiles on both their faces green tea with a little unfortunate setup there had to use the first eyepiece but what's pushing down [Music] well we're gonna get one burn from cream ta action to line double burn right there and again more burns necessary but again at this pace right now is really not that big of a deal see right there Jonas just with uh what one Tetris lead right now done from green tea as we've always been saying many times all these matches always seem to get back to neck-and-neck at some point in time you can see right here green tea right there caught up now takes the lead hmm sets himself up a talk like that Wow slide in there I know it built by both players I always loved those last-second adjustments for the next piece when you do have the opportunity to react to the next piece and you do a good job of it it's always very impressive to see now he wants a tea piece to slide in there or actually that will work to the L piece is gonna work join us opting to burn just a little bit a boom at Tetris for green tea and we've also seen this from both of the younger though the newcomers as well the younger I can call them young now the young guys guns right here is that they like looking over at their opponents green I noticed that from Alex Kerr as well oh yeah okay okay so it could be just uh just a part of their the way they play okay so finally Tetris ready again for green tea Jonas has been waiting for an eyepiece for a while the Jonas he's gonna need two eyepieces yeah that's what he's gonna set up he's gonna have to burn a little bit thanks to that and now he's looking for an L piece right now that's why he kept that space open but the LPS was not coming yeah slightly awkward roofs on both players now green tea with a slight lead though green tea not opting to choose a double clear by dropping one of those J poles down and thought he was gonna go for a dirty Tetris there but green tomorrow unfortunate situation here but he's okay that's gonna keep the hole covered unfortunately yeah and Joyce is gonna be able to catch up here because his Jonas is playfield is nice and clean he's ready for a Tetris all right yeah so far green tea has not been getting the pieces Oh a little bit of mistake trying to maintain that - right there well he's all imperfect there's the L piece that he needed me T Joel's back down boom Tetris for Jonas okay that old piece is gonna be perfect and once again green tea you ready that Tetris but Jonas now doing a little bit of cleanup himself my back the fourth green tea boom Tetris green tea nice nicely give you know the public players getting the same pieces here orangey is not gonna favor one over the other boom Tetris for Jonas only one Tetris ahead though 53 percent Tetris rate for him and you know that green teas rate is not gonna be all that far behind and there it is room-temperature green tea 51% for him Jonas has a really nice build right now and boom Tetris Oh Jonas girl touches her green tea 52 vs. 54 percent right back 100 lines brony Tetris for green tea and he takes on lead now Oh a little bit of Miss place that he tried to make an adjustment at the last second could it slide it over there in time but again not a huge problem can definitely clean it up it's just a little nuisance to have to deal with now sam'l tetris is keeping it a neck-and-neck Jonah's gonna need a couple of eyepieces actually he's gonna need three eyepieces if he doesn't burn a little bit on the right side right now Jonas and there's the burn right there so no longer needs the extra eyepiece and bilham catches her green tea bulb Tetris or Jonas is a grill on green tea space I love it I love it Tetris ready is both players right now and there we go Jonas mister green tea neck and neck all the way yeah again just all these top players the fact that they are able to especially because these are both - players the fact that every piece you see comes into the screen sliding brass as they do is such a skill that a lot of people who are watching this probably aren't you're gonna wear that they're doing and they're both level 19 now Jonas get in there with a Tetris and we're still making neck though but with a higher speed we'll see if there's a difference ops to go for the triple didn't want to risk anything for green tea green tea now just doing some burns right here Jonas doing some skillful tucks into a Tetris oh no but again green tea trying to play a little bit safer doesn't want to go for any of the risks right now in the center well beautiful orangey for him right there gave him about three eyes pieces in quick succession John Jonas opting for a triple but we're neck and neck so the whole game this has probably been the note the most neck-and-neck match I've seen all day yeah they're really playing excellent Tetris here can build both Tetris for Jonas now Jonas right now trying to find an Ono just kind of a little of a Miss placement right there for Jonah's trying to do something at the last second didn't work out and kind of messed up on the bass right there something burning there Ricci is almost out and yeah peace Tetris ready again mr. green teen neck-and-neck and Jonas has set himself up now for a Tetris as well he's all ready to go but we are at level 2 Jonas back and forth Oh beautiful wait for the wrong bar I think for a double Freddie is Jonas Oh a Miss drop eyes peace he gets it over and the minute I do that we had to have been the last second tapping right there to get that oneness 1 square over might have been a one frame margin of error there that was amazing so you still in it but Jonas now holding a head yeah it was about to tetris --is in the lead now oops again another miss placement right there probably from bad days maintaining but you know what no problem no problem it's clean boom catches her green tea Jonas opting for a triple they're probably the right thing to do he's almost got their opened up again you need some good piece that's there and he's got it got it double or triple we got we're in a drought right now he's ready the drought is happening and both touches her green tea almost even again slight miss drop there but he got the double and Bill attention sir Jonas a call of nine Tetris or really high join us at 800,000 yeah both of these players are not at max out pays but they're the scores are still so high both of them at about a 50% Tetris Row one level away from a kill screen for green tea yeah are we these guys on a kill screen it's that one it's gonna determine this right now he's a Tetris behind oh man now treatises behind but Jonas does not have his clean of a stack okay here we go kill score here he doesn't want to clear one more Jonas Jonas was such a close match now in that case that really came down to who burned more singles and doubles because we had Chile down to the wire oh my god we saw a kill screen from both players right there I mean Jonas was right outside of it but still virtually there 28 and 29 from the players 50% Tetris rates yeah an amazing performance and neck-and-neck pretty much the entire game going back and forth until the end and just the difference between a few doubles and a few triples was was what that was there yes look at that green teas still smiling but how could you not that was such a great Queen match that was just I really think these players play better when they're having fun oh yeah - especially Jonas even going so as far as to saying that when he was having you know having having fun he plays better yep and with and shoutouts to everybody sigh and it's like glanced at green teas play field both players thinking themselves how good do I have to play to beat this other guy those people know how good you have to be okay going for a little bit of clean yeah smart move there for Jonas don't want to risk too much and boom Jonas boom Tetris or green tea yeah they're neck-and-neck and makers of pieces ever going back and forth green tea had the lead for just a moment there and now he's got it again alright forced himself into an LPS but that's exactly what he got so perfect timing for him now Tetris ready and Jonas however Jonas place for green tea maintaining the lead there's only one Tetris apart just going back and forth and now green tea has a lead so Jonas now gonna be able to try to dig into that but he's gonna drop behind here at this point in time and you know what after what we saw in the last game I don't think Jonas can count on the green tea necessarily making mistakes and topping out Jonas needs to play a little bit of aggressive aggression right now to try to make the catch up I think and to just keep the play field clean because right now green tea has that and he had the lead and gold tetris or green tea again he's building really solid whoa so we're going for a column at seven at Tetris right now for Jonas and boom there it is not bad just a single Bernie's back in it nice clean play field is ready Tetris for Jonas micro-adjustment from Jonas there at the end green tea stacking all the stuff on the left yeah he needs another J it needs another Jo that'll work actually IML that I will mirror it into the L and that's what he got so boom Tetris for Jonas catching up just a little green tea still in the lead just by a bit we're just over 100 lines go up tetris or green tea yet calm boom Tetris pieces are not doing well for green joy now used to the side okay cleans that oak rotates up the last second beautiful and gentle midnight to the Opie's coming and there we go clean it right out just like that fist pump from green tea and your attention ready again yes and both that disagreeing tea that could have been an ugly situation yeah treaty power stir with a smile and a nod I'll tell you right now the biggest weapon in Tetris is to keep calm to keep never panic and just out of it just in time for the transition to were both on level 19 now Jonas though look at him he has built himself at least a to Tetris lead right now [Music] Jonas still at Tetris ready oh no oh my god clean gotta clean now that's gonna be tough to get out of he's gonna need a couple of different pieces to get out okay mr. Jonas it's blazing critical there he gets the right stuff to build out of it but he keeps building that s column in the middle which is such a problem because it's just blocking so much of his path to rotate yeah it's not the ideal setup there's not a lot of places to put pieces when you have it like that you get the line yeah if you gets an eyepiece now it will really really help there it is Oh dirty triple very nice he's still in it green teas like man well this guy just died Noah Tetris or green tea green tea has actually gained lead now play fields in better shape sure Jonas is gonna have to clean up there's that head not from Jonas the the bad orangey had not right now but Jonas is still in it look at this he is still living oh they get over there in time but you might be able to in from playing you know grandmaster games you could come in and be 16 pick up the game in a year and just kick some butt at tetris exactly and win the world championships so now we are in the third and final game of green tea versus Jonas the winner expects to see the news reports after today you know tech classic Tetris championship spike sales in classic neces from eBay I mean Tetris cartridges for nets are like five five bucks you know they're pretty cheap and they're pretty common but you know people want to pick up the game then you know you're gonna have 16 year olds all over the world flying cartridges Oh perfect Oh piece right there for Jonas to fill in that hole right there and boom Tetris for Jonas you know I like green tea style of dumping pieces on the Left because sometimes when it just doesn't give me what I want it's just you just slide it over and get rid of it it's like I'll deal with you later so I could totally relate to that a little bit of cleanup now for green tea perfect cleanup right there and a little bit of sigh but unfortunately now has to build that three deep Wow four deep well on column nine so it's gonna burn it up no he didn't burn it with the Oh piece okay go deficit Drona's growth touches our green teeth so Jonas up one Tetris right now nice play fields this is so crazy right now remember Jonas is the seven-time champion out of eight classic Tetris world championships he doesn't know what it's like to lose in this game there's a thumbs-up from green tea and Jonas right now having to do some damage duty right here cleaning up but got some good pieces for that he's just looking for now the S piece blame fielder my and yeah they're waiting on that long piece where is it is it when you need it got a clean got a clean now and that'll clean it right there no it's dangerous boom mister Drona's he held out and got it was a green tea thanks dad that's the high-risk play that we talked about that we talk about a lot of times when you're just sitting there waiting for the eye piece and you know just banking on the fact that you're not gonna get it you're out yeah the pressures on and if it doesn't give you what you need you yeah I could be lethal that's more risky than I'm used to joke see Jonas playing but against green tea that might have to be that's like I said you can't count on this kid for for messing up and topping out at any point in time you have to play aggressive you have to make sure you're scoring as much as you can against him this is a double kill screen matchup like a double boom simultaneous the pressure that I feel like green tea has placed on Jonas that he feels like he has to go through the center and here yeah there it is there's that three from the right nice and juicy boom Tetris Jonas Neubauer himself take it away arta oh my goodness how about that that could have been a final any other year Jonas somehow you always find a way to make it to the finals it's like eating lunch here you are again in the finals of the classic dancers world championship but compare the difficulty of making it to the finals this year versus previous years this this year I feel like I am physically been beaten up I'm exhausted it took every ounce of focus so many missed drops I had to recover I was in an archeological tear dig on game to that I could not get out of I'm still covered in dirt sweeta green tea I saw him during the qualifiers just an amazing consistent player and he really raises the bar and you feel like you're [Music] you feel like you have to keep up and that every drop counts and that's exactly what happened especially that first game it was just neck-and-neck the third game it's amazing so my hat's off to him it's it's humbling to see somebody close the gap in a year but I love it and I think it's just just wonderful so great job thanks for coming all the way out one more question for you now you find yourself in the finals you're facing another newcomer to this tournament it's like it just never ends the challengers are lining up it's a bull's-eye out in the back of the seven-time champion 16 years old he's done things with this game that nobody has done since 1989 and now you're facing him in the finals what are your thoughts going into this matchup I've been monitoring that the twitch community and the YouTube community has been so wonderful this is not a surprise to me I've seen his rise to just automatic I mean we could see a level 32 level 33 today it's just amazing to see and now here how frantic that that tapping is it's I I don't know what to expect I just got to go pedal to the metal I got to throw out the playbook let's see it let's see what happens all of us to you in the finals Jonas it's as if it was written in a story the 16 year old newcomer who has done things with the game that nobody else has will be facing the greatest of all time Jeff back to you [Music]
