with that said let's get on to our list the first Bridge we will be looking at today in the San Francisco Bay area is the benisha Martinez Bridge which crosses the kinz straight near Sisson Bay this bridge is located between the two cities of Martinez and Contra Casta County and bisha in Solano County the bridge was originally open to traffic in 1962 and the southbound Lanes use the original Bridge while the Northbound Lanes use a new bridge that was constructed in 2007 as part of an expansion project along Interstate 680 the southbound Bridge features four lanes of traffic while the new Northbound Bridge features five Lanes of traffic there is also a third Bridge a railroad bridge that crosses through here and was built in 1930 and is located between the two freeway Bridges the bonisha Martinez Bridge has a total length of 8,976 Ft or 1.7 Mi and is told going northbound the next bridge is the kinz bridge which also crosses the Carin straight near the entrance to San Pablo Bay Interstate 80 crosses the kinz bridge and the eastbound Lanes use the older bridge that opened in 1958 while the westbound Lanes use a newer bridge that open open to traffic in 2003 and that bridge is known as the Alfred zampa Memorial Bridge prior to the construction of the Alfred zampa Memorial Bridge the westbound Lanes used the original kinz bridge that was in operation from 1927 until 2003 the westbound Lanes cross a suspension bridge while the eastbound Lanes cross a canver bridge the bridge has a total length of 3,300 ft for the Canal Bridge and 3,465 ft for the supension passes between the cities of Fremont in Alam County and Meno Park in San Mato County the current bridge is the second bridge that crossed through this area after the original bridge that was constructed in 1927 and was demolished soon after the current Bridge opened in 1982 the dumb Barton Bridge has a total length of 8,600 Ft or about 1.6 miles and Carries an estimated 70,000 vehicles per day making it the least traveled of all the Bay Area Bridges the bridge is told going westbound along California State Route [Music] 84 [Music] the next bridge in the San Francisco Bay area is the San Mato Hayward Bridge which also crosses the San Francisco Bay and is the longest bridge in California and the Bay Area and is the 25th longest bridge in the entire [Music] world the Bridge crosses million the bridge is currently part of Interstate 580 and was originally part of State Route 17 the bridge has been retrofitted a number of times throughout the years to help it withstand the frequent earthquakes that the San Francisco Bay Area suffers from like the previous two Bridges the bridge has a toll going westbound our next bridge in the Bay Area is the San Francisco Oakland Bay
