I've carried an 01KZ every day for about 3 years now. Picked up the 10KZ first and decided I didn't care for the tanto/serrated blade. Funny enough, the autolocks is the very reason I selected this knife for an EDC. This decision came after my SOG liner lock closed on my index finger and very badly cut me.

Love these Carson knives.

Love crkt! I have carried multiple m16 designs for the past years and recently added the minimalist to my edc.

today we are going to be reviewing one of my EDC knives the CRKT M 1601 KZ I've had this knife for about a year and a half and it has mainly been used for everyday carry but also as a secondary to my Mora when camping for finer work like food prep my last knife review about the gerber bear grylls folding sheath knife was kind of all over the place so I came up with a set of knife standards that this knife and all future knives would be graded with it's basically a system that grades and summarizes the knife's overall performance and puts it under a mark of either 64 folding knives or 65 for fixed blades because they are intended to do different tasks right for now this is my most expensive knife I got it around 40 Canadian dollars in Amazon which is a really good deal because it normally goes for about that american the m16 series from CRKT is known for supremely robust knives look at the thickness of the liner lock one very unique feature of this knife is the auto locks it's basically a little piece of metal that comes down and prevents the liner from sliding out from under the blade some people love it some people hate it I personally don't mind it but it took me a while to get used to there are lots of m16s out there but I chose to zero on KSN variant because of the small coated and unser rated spearpoint blade along with the zytle handle which I chose over the steel version for grip it is extremely light acclaimed 2.3 ounces the steel is 8 CR 15 MOV and keeps an edge pretty well I don't usually carve with it but through all the use it's been through it's only needed to be found I don't keep it the sharpest but I keep a good working edge on it the CRKT m60 line is a series of tough knives and this one is no exception although like all knives it isn't perfect here are some things I like about it is extremely light so compromising strength that holds an edge well and looks pretty bad as in my opinion and what I'm not too fond of the main screw loosens over time making the blade off-center and the edges not super acute which be flow goes strong it falls behind very fine tasks like carving and slicing Victorinox Swiss Army knives are my number one organized for slicing see the description of this video to see it's test results thanks for watching here's the rest of the testing footage [Music] oh god the celery definitely a lot more friction with the celery but the W table tonight we're smell especially non kitchen knife [Music] [Music] here my garage stuff is a package in here don't open or cut at least with the tastier KTM 1601 Katie your point that we helps to kind of trade business logic at us very welcome home there is still some resistance compared like you to attack or something for example was definitely so usable and it obviously cut a thin cardboard no problems well
