CRITERION Collection 50% Off Sale Haul - BARNES & NOBLE Hunt 4K and Blu Ray JULY 2024

so what's going on everybody welcome back to the channel if you saw my weekly Movie hunt I went in Barnes & Noble but I didn't really pick up any you know what I'm talking about you know what might be in this bag yeah you know Criterion I'm going to get into the store and as I look I might recommend a few titles and then I come back here and I'll show you the few that I've picked up at least in the first purchase because you know there'll be more so what are we waiting for let's go [Music] None Shall Pass so here we are at the Criterion section look it says DVD up there but um after hours is a really good movie I recommend that but there's a 4K Baron Munch's pretty good um blue velvet's one of the ones I've been looking for I'm definitely going to pick that up that's a David Lynch movie Love David Lynch love all his movies I recently picked up bound I'm going to get them to either give me a refund on that or I'm going to just buy it again and like return the other one days of Heavens fairly new DA and Confused highly recommend that I think there's a 4K of that don't look now Donald southernland that's a really good movie uh look somebody got the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas that's a 4K Terry Gilliam made that I recommend that girl fight I just picked up that's a pretty good movie what else they got here labomba I recommend that look here that's the Del Toros Pinocchio I want the 4K of that that's the Blu-ray um the others is excellent highly recommend it that one of Jeffy award and if you didn't watch The Jeffy Awards last year you need to watch that Malcolm X I tried to pick up the 4K of that um did an order I'll let you know what happened with that uh Last Temptation Of Christ I've got that on DVD the Criterion DVD Love and Basketball is pretty good what's down here Lynch Oz I recently picked that up a peep in time there I I definitely recommend that there's Del Toro was that the DVD and I love DVDs right I like to be about a decade behind everybody else you know so I'm just now getting into them and it's a good time cuz they're cheap right right that was a DVD of it damn delman Louise highly recommend there is a 4K of that though that I recommend to die for is really good train spotting um I want that but I want the 4K of it so all right well let's get home and I'll show you what I actually picked [Music] up so what's going on and show you there was only a few I picked up I did an in store pickup of five titles and when I got there I looked at the email only three of them were actually in stock two that is says were in stock weren't so I'm wondering if somebody beat me into the store when they first opened and they didn't get they didn't pick my titles but I went ahead and said to ship those so they'll come later so I'll tell you about those once I get into the video there are a couple uh Criterion that I picked up over the last couple weeks one I'm really not that worried about it it was a cheap one it wasn't one of the full price ones and it wasn't 4K but I got Lynch Oz this is the documentary by David Lynch and how Wizard of Oz influenced a lot of his stuff I love this I love the cover look it's got like the Twin Peaks Vibe with the curtains and him smoking because he smokes so much and everything I love that documentary I love David Lynch so pick that up highly recommended if you like David Lynch a movie that I bought like was it a week or two ago and then when I found out through other YouTubers that the sale was going to go ahead and start at the end of June I didn't open it up and when I went in there to pick up the the in store pickup I did I went ahead and returned bound and this is the 4K and then I had them let me repurchase it for the sales price so the girl up front didn't seem to know if they did a price match and didn't know how to do it so I just did a return and then I went ahead and purchased it for half price so this is a really good movie Gina Gerson um Jennifer Tilly is in it and Joe pantelon Pantano is that he pronounce his name I really like this movie I highly recommend it um it's from uh 1996 108 minutes this is the 4K blu-ray combo so there's three movies that I was holding off for the sale and I actually there were five I'll go ah and tell you what the other two were the first one was uh del Toro's Pinocchio the 4K of that they had the Blu-ray in there the on line it says they had the the 4K um but it ended up not being in stock so I had them ship it the other one that I picked up that I had them ship was Malcolm X now I held off last time and I ended up not I was going to go get it before the sale ended and I didn't get it but went ahead and got that one like I said the out of stock in the store for the 4K as you saw they had the Blu-ray in my store but I went ahead and picked it uh picked it up online and shipped it so there's three titles here that are all 4ks that I picked up and like I said I I just didn't want to spend the the full price on them so here's a movie I've only watched once and I 100% didn't didn't like it back then but you know how you get older your movie tastes change um I had a very low um a short attention span if you might say but I went ahead and got Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas um this is directed by Terry Gilliam who is a member of the Monty Python troop he's got some really good movies that he's uh directed um that I really enjoy his work so this is the 4K it's got Johnny Depp and bonio Del Toro this is from 1998 118 minutes and this is a 4K blu-ray combo set so I don't mind paying 24 bucks for a Criterion 4K Blu-ray set same thing with this one and speaking of David Lynch I went ahead and picked up blue velvet this recently came out see it still had the 30% off sticker on it but we obviously know part of this sale we got it for 50% off so I really like this movie it's from 198 6 it's two hours it's got a really good cast Kyle mclin who starred is AJ Cooper and Twin Peaks Isabella rosolini Dennis Hopper Laura d uh Dean Stockwell got a really awesome cast this is a pretty quirky movie but aren't all David Lynch movies that way but I love David Lynch I watched Twin Peaks as it was coming on as how old I am um I would watch it every week and record it on my VCR um another 4K that I didn't see in the store but it said they actually had it and so maybe I got the last copy and was lucky on that one but it's um train spotting and I don't I'm not a big fan it's just weird how they choose packaging Fear and Loathing is in a regular case you know a Criterion case blue velvet is in like a slip case with one of those you know probably fold out cases inside of it train spotting I haven't opened it yet I don't know what kind of this is it almost looks like a Old Trapper Keeper you guys remember those in school it's like it folds and inserts in there I've never seen anything like this but train spotting yeah I was waiting to get that this is um 1996 94 minutes got a ton of special features um Edwin McGregor he played Obi W most recently is in it um I really like this movie Danny Bole directed it so three really quirky movies three really unique um almost sometimes borderline weird directors with Terry gilam uh David Lynch and Danny Bole um yeah just some weird stuff and so as you as I said I went through some stuff in the store and recommended it but if you would like for me to do a recommend video before the sale is over with let me know but short stack to begin with got two coming in the mail and then I'm going to go back in there and probably pick up I was trying to get the 4ks to start um to fill out that collection the 4K Criterion Collection so what have you picked up I know a couple of youve already mentioned to me in the comments of other videos what you picked up but while you're down there leaving comments uh like the video give a thumbs up on it I really appreciate it when you guys do that subscribe to the channel if you're
