hi this is verlana from comic cosplay and today i'm going to show you how i made the valkyrie costume from raid so in case you didn't saw my last video raid actually reached out to me and asked me to bring my favorite champion to life and i picked the valkyrie because she's a redhead she has amazing props she has amazing armor and she just looks awesome so in my last video you can see how i made her sword her shield and also has cupboard and this time you will see all of the rest and if you also want to get into crafting and costume making a cosplay in general and need some help just check out my cosplay crafting books on comedycosplay.com i have one for example about foam ammo making and also one about sewing and so much more i really hope they will be helpful and now let's start making the costume so let's start with the bra to get some nice patterns i covered myself in cling wrap and duct tape next i roughly drew on the shape i needed cut all pieces out and trace them onto four leather absolutely love this texture following that i clipped and sewed them together and got some perfectly round boobie cups once pinned and clipped onto the bra it was time to add a lot of fabric glue see a perfect result without any sewing now i also attach the bra holders to the top and a trim here to the bottom so far so good to close all belts i used velcro tape by the way to add some more details i first glued some thin brown strips over a larger red stripe which i then attached to the top of my bra with more glue and also made this small brush out of faux including some fake fur on the back which i simply tied to the front almost done all that was missing now was a lot of fluff on my bra holders i just cut out some dark blue fake fur super pretty right away and glued it on as well a bit of trimming on the back some hairspray to make it all look more wild a few tiny details glued into the fur and my valkyrie bra was complete looks pretty cool right the shoulders still look a bit empty though so let's make the mighty pauldrons next since the patterns for these were a little bit more complicated benny created them for me in 3d using blender these templates could now easily be printed out and traced to 10 millimeter low density eva4 after a bit of gluing this was the base shape then i made a spiky piece attached it to the top and another one to the bottom to properly place this pauldron on my shoulder benny actually created two for the smaller parts that together made a pretty sturdy base construction i simply had to glue on the top layer at two points and my armor fit perfectly onto my body super handy now to finish this piece i first burned in some nordic ruins using my soldering iron and then glued on additional detail layers with two millimeter eva foam adding details is always my favorite part i also sanded some little pyramids that got glued to the center and a few smaller triangles and rivets while creating the base shape was actually more complicated adding all the details is quite simple and super fun just the paint job was missing now i first added around three layers of flex bond and some coats of plastidip to hide the brush strokes now that was better then benny added a silver base coat to everything and also sprayed many of the parts golden with all clad airbrush paint if you're interested you'll find all materials we used listed in the video description below then he just had to paint a few pieces by hand spray the innermost part with brown cover some rivets and gold and seal his work with clear coat so far is so good now to the weathering i'm always amazed that applying a bunch of brown oil paint and then wiping it away again makes such a huge difference after putting on a last coat of varnish and gluing on another detail piece i only had to apply some more for next again i cut out a long print strip and hot glued it to the inside of my shoulder armor just a bit of trimming and hairspray and a small leather strip with velcro glue to the inside for the attachment and my shoulder armor was done i'm really happy how they turned out getting some good progress now let's move on to the braces for the base i started with a simple duct tape wrap off my arm i edited the shape of paper and cut out two pieces the first one i traced to five millimeter eva foam and cut in the middle to make it more curved after gluing them together i also attached another two millimeter layer to the inside which would help to keep this in shape then i grabbed my fake leather again and wrapped the whole foam bracer in it from both sides nice [Music] next i punched a lot of tiny holes through the edges and then pulled through a thin leather strip all around this took quite a while but looked really cool in the end don't you think the armor plates on top were actually relatively easy to make after painting them golden i simply attached them with my favorite fabric glue see easy as that and i'm almost done the smaller bracer underneath was still missing though so i traced and cut out my pattern from before added one layer of volume fleece one layer of lining material sewed it all around the edges pulled it inside out added the top stitch and got a really nice fabric razor to close and attach everything i first added velcro strips to the side and then three smaller self-made belts and buckles and finally to connect both the lower and the upper bracer i added some more velcro and now i just had to get in close the belts and could simply stick on the top one works like a charm pretty cool right let's go over to the wig and headpiece next i used here an arderwix matilda for the base and got a lot of wefts and braids for additional volume the velcro hair needs to be massive to keep it simple i just used fabric glue to place additional wefts i also cut open the mesh at a few points and pulled through extra thicker strands as well this already made my wig look a lot fluffier it was still a bit too long though so i trimmed the ends a bit however with this much hair i could finally begin the braiding her top actually needed two giant braids which i had to remake a couple of times i'm really not the best at working with hair but in the end it luckily worked out i also made some smaller ones on the sides and then rolled the rest of the hair into curlers to give it a little bit more volume as well i think it looked good so far only a few details were missing here i just added some golden parts and some leather wraps nothing fancy but it made the wig so much prettier next up the shiny golden headpiece since benny 3d printed me a scan of my hat a while ago i always used this to create fitting patterns for my hat first i wrapped it in plastic foil and tape and drew directly onto it after i was satisfied with the shape i cut it out and transferred it to a double layer of wobbler when heated up it's super flexible so i could easily sculpt the material next i had to make this side wingies for this we printed out an ingame screenshot which i then cut out and checked for the correct size once i was happy i traced it onto wobbler and the base of my helmet was complete next i got some additional foam parts connected them and placed them onto the base the wings also had to get more volume so i cut out several individual parts and sanded the edges round just had to attach them as well so far is so good all that was missing now were the details here a bit there a bit a few final gemstones and some battle damage bam the helmet was ready to be painted as always i primed the surface with flexbone first after which benny sprayed everything golden with an airbrush some brown weathering spray varnish and a few smaller details on the sides and the headpiece was done as well i totally love how it turned out especially in combination with the wick [Music] we are still far from dundo so next up the shoe and leg armor i actually found these brown boots which were a great base to work on to get the pattern i simply wrapped them in cling foil and duct tape and then drew on all the shapes i needed i traced and cleaned up all parts and paper and transferred them to five millimeter evapo next i put all the individual pieces together and glued them on top of each other the base shapes already looked good so on to the details since i was on a pretty tight schedule we actually used our flux laser cutter to cut everything out super quickly by the way this whole project was a massive team effort between benny his brother jacob and me anyway after that it was just a matter of gluing these little pieces onto the right places much better ready i only had to make another piece for my knee so i drew a quick outline traced it to foam and added details to it quick and easy next i'm priming the flex bond and some shiny airbrush colors then just a bit of hand painting and oil weathering later and the legs were done i'm sure by now you know how it goes the attachment was also pretty straight forward i just sewed a bunch of leather belts with a foam piece at the front and then glued them to the inner side of my armor then a bit of velcro at the end and done the only elements missing were two more leather belts with a bit of fur attached to them easy finally i could get into my shoes and then velcro on all the armor pieces including the fur belt and my knee pad super happy how the leg armor turned out even though zelda didn't look too impressed okay getting close now next up was the belt and the front flippy here i started out with a paper drawing of my loincloth after adding all the details i cut it apart and transferred the middle onto a brown platter at least after zelda finally let me do it next i sewed all pieces together and added a pretty top stitch for the other two pieces at the top and the bottom i used a darker platter which i first connected with fabric glue and then after adding a layer of lining i just saw it all around the edges i cut off the excess turned it inside out and sawed around it one more time done for my belt i used the pattern i still had from a previous project traced it to the same material and then attached the front flappy to it just like i did for my braces earlier i also pulled some leather strips through here it definitely took a while but the result looked super cool okay and finally on to the back side of the hip flappy the process here was very similar i started with a blueprint that i separated into smaller sections and then traced to fall leather after sewing those slices together i repeated the same steps for the upper darker area then i connected all parts and after a little bit of sewing this was the result as you can see the attachment was done with simple velcro next it was time to add some details first i've added a fancy dark blue trim to the edges turned it around trimmed it a bit and then styled it with hairspray for the golden part at the front i cut out a piece of eva foam and covered it in shiny fabric really pretty right i added a few more details and attached in everything with fabric glue while i was busy sewing all the fabric parts benny and his brother made me these fancy foam details which i now only had to glue on having these parts already done sped up the process a lot absolutely love how fancy everything looked now however i still had to finish the back flappies just like with my belt i began adding a furry trim all around the edges i just had to shorten it a little bit here and there the backside also had to get a golden trim and additional details so again i cut it all out wrapped it in golden fabric glued it on and added all the additional eva foam details on top this part had a lot of tiny little plates and rivets but i think all the effort was worth it since the final result looks really pretty i also totally love the combination of golden details brown leather and dark blue fur the last remaining details for the belt were also pretty easy to make first i made two of these small hip plates which got attached to my belt with a patch of velcro tape then also this small baby shield which was very similar to the large one i showed you already in my last video it also just got velcroed on here pretty neat right the last missing piece was the smaller bell that was placed on top but with this one attached my belt and hip armor adventure was over and everything was done how do you like it i think this is probably my favorite part of the costume now getting into the costume and doing some cool photos wasn't as easy though the valkyrie has all these crazy tattoos which benny and his brother prepared in adobe illustrator laser cut out and then glued on my body benny then applied all the paint with an airbrush i finished my makeup and then we made the rest of the tattoos getting ready took us actually three hours but here is the result i absolutely love how the valkyrie turned out in total we worked for two months on this costume and creating it was super challenging with all those crazy little details however i'm so happy she's finally done and i'm incredibly proud that we managed to finish here [Music] she is finally done and i'm so happy like the valkyrie was a really intense project with like so many different techniques and like so many different armor pieces and so it was a lot of work and i just really really hope you enjoyed the whole crafting process of this costume and as always if you have any questions regarding to this project just leave me a comment down below and finally thanks
