hello friends Rebecca Walton here from rubber-stamp tapestry today we are going to be making this really cute card featuring a little jar with with shells in it we'll be using our summer on the farm unmounted stamp set sand dollar and starfish peg stamp set and these four peg stamps these are individual peg stamps they don't come in a set we have the Mama turtle Mama sea turtle and baby sea turtle and the mama crab or daddy crab and the little baby let's get started alright the first thing we want to do is take a piece of paper this happens to be packing paper and we're going to cut it or tear it so that we have some hills and we want to keep both sides of our paper one we will use as a mask I'm actually going to shorten this a little bit here so when you think about this this is the part that's going to be the sand and I want my jar be kind of nestled in so to sort of have a divot but then have a flat area of two so I think this right here will work we want to go up not quite halfway so what we want to do is get our brush and desert sand ink we're going to focus mostly just along the edge here because we want to stamp and we're gonna put some darker ink down here if I come back this way it'll make a really nice line that ain't just sort of builds up on the edge of the mask okay tada alright so now we need our our other piece and I can trim which wet so this piece here we're gonna stamp this or ink this up with nautical blue but I'm going to protect or block out this area here is I don't want to ink up the logo I need space to put our shells just the way I wanted it so it's found its way has he even made some of the blue oh my goodness we can fill that in I think though okay so let's take our mask again and flip it over I'm gonna come down here and create a ledge of darker sand so I'm going to use gray flannel and I really don't want to use it on my brown brush but I don't feel like getting up to get my gray brush so I'm gonna mix this in with a little bit of rich cocoa so the gray flannel and rich cocoa we can even come back in with some desert sand see it with that now we'll take my little let's see I will take my big crab trying to think of perspective you know it's not exactly right I'm gonna stamp him down here in the corner I think and maybe stamp a little crab over here and I did create a mask for my jar and you do that just by stamping on a post-it note where you have at least somewhere on this on the mask the sticky part of it and crabs like to hide so I'm going to have him coming out from under here we have the larger shell I think it's the only large shell that we have in the set so I'm going to stamp a few of those I'm gonna use elderberry Pierre honest and maybe sweet plum feeling like I want to mask one of these you know you can make this as complicated as you want it to be you know I don't know I'm gonna make it a little bit complicated I think I'm gonna have it poking out from behind this one might do something like Lulu rabbit or something light I didn't clean the brush or the yes stamp so it might show a little bit of the other as well all right let's see what that did oh yeah so we've got a little grouping I like to do things in threes a little grouping of purple shells then I forgot to do first was to do to stamp my little seaweed or coral I'm gonna use deserts and I'm just gonna poke it in behind that little crab there we're gonna use pistachio so these two colors for our corner let's stamp our sea turtles stamp it in olive grove they're off in the distance swimming up up and away there's the mama sea turtle baby sea turtle right behind now let's fill our jar to have lots of tiny shells in this set so it makes it a really great set for filling a jar start out with this snail and I'm gonna stamp it in the rich cocoa I'm gonna Nestle it right here in the bottom I just sort of mix and match as we go along here got the clamshell I think it's hard to really know how to place them in here get them close it's not gonna be probably super realistic but we'll do our best and then pistachio for this seashell I think I'm gonna stamp him again and then I've got I'm gonna do this in I guess in peanut brittle first did this in desert Santa's not quite dark enough and then we have our starfish kind of feeling like I need to do this in another color what if they do starfish and sweet pong a little bit of color try think what to do next thinking another snail show and maybe all took it where should we put it maybe up here all right I'm gonna stop there I'll make sure I've got all my elements you see what we've got going on so far I'm gonna apply the mask again and we need to do something with this up here so we're in the ocean let's give it some blue all right we've got sky summer sky my favorite sky blue I'm gonna brush toward myself to get myself a nice blue edge this will be going on a blue card base our blue card panel that's nice to kind of highlight that edge sort of trying to take it easy around some of these things I stamped so we don't add too much hmm we learned what nautical blue if it'd be too dark we tried on a scrap piece I don't think that it will I'm imagining that it's gonna get lighter the more you go toward the top because the sunlight is coming in oh goodness alright so let's kind of bounce this around down here at the bottom so let's add a little bit yellow up here you got to remember if you're adding yellow in blue you might get green anything on how thick you put it on here how these little turtles going towards the light alright so I'm just doing I'm sorry I am trying to remember everything I want to do here so let's add some bling they're gonna bring on the bling now all right so if got our Zig pen well this is actually yeah I guess you could call it peanuts got the hard nib on that it's not a brush basically so what we're gonna do is trace along this edge I'm gonna stop when I get to the crab give him a little space there we'll do a little bit there do a little bit under him alright and then I'm gonna come down here I'm gonna do the same thing stopping at the shells all right now get a piece of paper to go under this this we're gonna add some bling in the form of glitter I wondered if I should go around the jar think maybe I will I hope I don't regret it right so let's bring this out again connect those two so I'm feeling like this is a highway or something going through here like I didn't really think about you know two lines beside each other maybe it would've been better if it went up I don't know so I'm trying to think how can we incorporate this not be so stark so I'm thinking maybe use the quickie glue pen tap on this area and then cover that in glitter so that it kind of combines sort of brings at least this part down it's having more glitter and then that's just sort of highlighted don't know and I may need to even come back in here with some brown and kind of fill this in a little bit more so that's what I'm going to do oh goodness I don't have don't know if I like that or not no looks like it as a disease oh gosh it's got spots let me at least fill this in a little darker oh you know wanting to mess with glitter how it goes everywhere okay let me think about this some more I mean it's not terrible I'm tempted just to fill the whole thing in with glitter that has been in that has been a fault all right that is much better so now the last thing we want to do is to put glossy accent on our jar I'm not gonna fill in the back I'm leaving it white even though we have blue in the background it's just gonna be prettier once the glossy accent dries try to get rid of any glitter that may get in this this is self leveling I don't like when you make a cookie with royal icing just sort of along the edges where you want keep going and going and going all the way back to the middle probably use a needle to get out any air bubbles you can kind of push push it where you want it to go with the tip as well temptation is to touch it you think I wonder if it's dry if you touch it you have ruined it not be the same and you will be sad so the best thing you do is put it somewhere not on your table at least if you're like me I have all intentions not to touch it and something will land on it best thing to do is remove it somewhere you know nothing is gonna get on it maybe set yourself a timer I don't know how long this takes the last time I did it I just left it overnight but you know before I left it I had to touch it and I ruined it so don't do that but put it somewhere set a timer and you'll know when it's dry it'll be completely clear there'll be no no denying it but you just want to touch it cuz it looks so cool you just can't just don't do it it's not a good thing because you want to get the full effect and you want all this work so just wait be patient it's hard to do in the end a little bubbles there and you can pop those it kind of spread spread stuff around with your needle once you sort of leave it in the right direction it follows so there we go I'm actually just gonna I am gonna leave it on my table and I'm gonna walk away and I'm not gonna do anything until I come back and finish the card I'm not even gonna be in here to accidentally do anything to it and maybe if I'm smart I'll time how long it takes and then you will know is this only you're pretty thick and you will know how long to wait all right you have fun I'll have fun and we'll be back in a little while and we'll finish this off so I wanted to pop in for you it won't really be a pop in because it's a continuous video but for me it's a pop in because it's been over two hours since I made this and I wanted to give you an update of what it's looking like it's definitely taking a while to set up and I figure by tomorrow it should be ready but you can see you've got a lot of I don't know if you can't see actually I've got a lot of like a wet spot and it's sort of more wet in the middle and I think it's where this this area is drying and we still have areas in the middle that need to set up you can see the top and bottom look a little bit clearer than the middle so it's exciting I can't wait until I can show you what the final product looks like all right I'm gonna put it away and then I'll get back to it tomorrow so here is the dried card and you can see it's kind of bent there's definitely some bowing that happened I think that I'll be able to straighten that out once I glue this down but I don't know if it's just that it's I can feel that it feels kind of thick in the middle but I think we'll be able to fix it so we're going to I've got I've got a sentiment and I thought wow I can stamp that right there kind of fill in that space a little bit so I'm inking this up with nautical blue and it says you're a great friend and I've been using this stamp quite a few cards likely I really like it isn't that so pretty I also wanted to do with ad some watches of white through here this is hero huge pigment eat that I'm I just got a piece of tissue paper I'm gonna actually try this on something else just to see what this will look like may not be juicy enough I'm gonna make sure I've got everything that I wanted to add to this I'll do some little bubbles coming up okay now I'm going to glue this down to our navy card panel so I'm just gonna try to glue this up really good so hopefully it will adhere really well and I can flatten this out that is for sure my goodness all right I think I got it down all right then we'll attach this to our card base then you could do this with a navy card base and skip this step if you like this will make it a little bit heavier yeah there we go and that is our pretty underwater card our shells in a jar it's that awesome I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial today please give the video a thumbs up comment below let me see what you think if you have any ideas you want to share questions you have and the supply list will also be in the description I look forward to making another card with you soon have a great day
