Create a Polygon in QGIS - GIS Tutorial

[Music] hello uh we're gonna start uh today's video to create a new area of interest in an area of interest polygon in um in the area that we are requiring so we're going to start by adding a new layer of google satellite maps here we can see that we created a new layer i'm going to sum into dublin because this is where i'm going to work at and i'm going to create the polygon now by clicking on new shapefile layer you can also go to the top menu and go create layer new shapefile layer and here we name our layers area of interest then we select the geometry type as polygon click ok and we accept the changes and now we make sure that the our new layer is selected we click on edit and now we can add our polygon in the area of interest so with the left click we select the points around this park and then we click right click to tell a gis that we are finished selecting the polygon and we named the id of this polygon as zero because it's the first polygon that we're creating and there you go we have created a new polygon here we can click on the edit bottom and click save and now the changes of the plugin have been saved now if we need to edit the specific latitude and longitude coordinates of each polygon each each corner of the polygon we can select here our vertex tool we right click on top of the nucleated polygon and we now can edit these cells that contain the latitude and the longitude we just need to double click let's say we're gonna move this point so we go enter and you can see here that the vertex we are editing is shining in blue you just click enter there you go it has been moved so because this one then it's moving three there you go perfect now to save the changes we just click again in our edit tool and we just click save and we have created our new polygon now if we want to save the project we can just save the project if we want to export our polygon we use right click on top of the layer and we select export say feature us and here we select what type of format do we want to save it as and in which folder we want to save it to which directory or folder thank you very much
