what's up everybody today on knife banner we are going what's up everybody today on nike dude stop i'm just excited we're talking sharpeners [Music] what's up everybody today on knife banner i'm here with kyle from worksharp what's up guys happy to be here thanks for having me kurt kyle what do you do at work sharp uh i am our community marketing specialist so um i'm the guy you see on our youtube channel i also run our instagram um and i stoke people out with our sharpeners and tell them about our products it's kind of my my thing i get to talk knives and sharpeners so yeah dude i'm so excited for this because i've owned a couple work sharp sharpeners but i'll be honest i'm a little nervous at first okay you know what i mean okay so i'm here to help what we're gonna do is we're gonna have kyle jump into some of the products and kind of do more of a demonstration on how to use these products what they do what they can do and show you how cool they are so kyle let's jump into it man yeah man um i'm gonna start at the beginning uh the original work sharp knife and tool sharpener uh this is kind of the house that workshop's built on we've sold a million and a half of these sharpeners um yeah because they work man they've been crap uh yeah the backbone of what we do and the reason for that is we went out and asked you know knife makers you know what do you do when you make your knives and they use that flexible abrasive belt technology and so we took that and put it into a form factor that you can have in your home and so that's so cool dude yeah it's it's one of those things that kind of sets us apart from everyone else that's out there when it comes to sharpening it gives you a lot of control to be able to tackle different types of knife geometries that are out there but the product's 10 years old and it was ready for an upgrade and so we got to the mark ii we did a lot of things right but there were some things that you know our customers told us they wanted to see in a new knife sharpener and so we took that feedback and we put it in the new form factor that is the mark ii so to be honest i think that's huge listening to uh customers actual feedback and making those moves i think that's huge yeah i mean that's that's who's using our products we want to make sure that we're hearing what it is what their frustrations are what do they like about it what do they want to change about it and so that's really 10 years of that that feedback we've taken and applied it to the next iteration which is the mark ii so i mean with this original model there were some things that we got right and then there were some things that we will point out as we go through this as far as what we changed so yeah dude let's see the let's see the new one so this is the mark ii um so starting out with what's new on it so one of the things that people ask for is a variable speed i mean you still got that high speed because this is kind of like a power tool to be able to like take on tasks like grinding tools and stuff like that so you still want that high speed to be able to tackle that sort of thing the cassette rotates forward you can take the guide off and you're got yourself basically a power tool you just pulled that off just pulled that right off and you're often taken off doing tools things like that but what we wanted to do is improve the experience when it came to sharpening knives so what we did was with that customer feedback some of the things that we were hearing is um there we go some of the things that we were hearing is we want the ability to go between 20 and 25 degrees so 20 being a lot of your kitchen knives things like that 25 degrees being your pocket knives hunting knives things like that but what we had before was in this form factor we had two guides and i don't know about you but if you give me two pieces to something one of these is going to end up in like a drawer somewhere then i'm stuck just using the one for the rest of the time so we took all that and put it into one guide so now you've got the adjustable guide here that goes from 20 to 25 degrees with the toggle so that makes it really that's just so i actually have one of these tubes right here that's just this back lever to rotate the cassette if you want to rotate the cassette to do tools you hit that lever there and that will rotate you forward and that'll put you in position for tool grinding and then if you want to change your knife degree angle that's on the back of your guide there that you toggle back and forth to get between 20 and 25 degrees so real simple easy it's all right there um the next thing that people were giving us feedback on is with especially with longer knives you find yourself out here um before without the front edge guide that was on there right you'd find yourself drawing through and you'd get all the way up to about here and you found yourself kind of like out in space like oh man i don't know quite right hold on to that angle with the front edge guide i i have experienced that firsthand okay 100 i'm like uh what do i do now with this last little bit and i'm like trying to be as smooth as a robot right and it takes some muscle memory and some people got it really easily and some people just would get frustrated with that but with the front edge guide you're supported all the way through as you draw through the knife and you have no issue with that anymore so that was one thing that we solved for it makes it a lot easier makes it a much more comfortable machine to use the other thing that we heard people on was this high speed can be kind of intimidating when you've got like your beloved cherished knife and you're about to drop that in there like yeah man that's i'll tell you right now in my experience if i had a sebenza there's no way i would have done that on the original like well i it's scary it makes you nervous well you spend so much money on these knives that and a belt i think in my mind the belt immediately sounds so aggressive that i need like more of a professional uh mindset going in so that's why i'm so stoked that you're here and you get to show us and kind of demonstrate some of the stuff right so that's one of the things we heard so we gave you the lower speed option now towards it is more approachable it's not as intimidating on your knives so you can actually get in there and and feel comfortable sharpening the journey that we always talk about is comfort leads to confidence confidence leads to success because if you're not confident using the machine yeah you're going to mess up your knives if you're not paying attention to what you're doing but if you're confident and you feel comfortable with it then yeah you're going to create some really awesome edges and you're going to be able to recreate some pretty cool profiles that are out there on knives so i'm stoked about that i'll tell you right now man without the uh the guide on the outside here oh sorry i already my 80d you're good but without this guide i'm not kidding i struggled hard with that yeah it it freaked me out but having this new addition and then the adjustments on the back just that tiny little lever sweet super simple easy to use and i can do a quick demo on this knife if you guys want to see it see it go here basically just so you can see it in action the three steps you got to remember with this machine is you're going to place it in the machine you're going to power it on and then you're going to pull through stopping with the tip of the knife on the belt so i'll show you so i have a quick question okay before you're jumping on that's a kitchen knife yep now what what grit should we be starting at great question so there's three grit progressions with this um sharpener we've got one 80 grit which i wouldn't use on knives unless i mean they are just hammered or like a big machete or that you're trying to knock some chunks out of otherwise you're going to use our medium red belt and then you're going to progress down to our fine purple belt which is a 6 000 grit so it's a real quick progression easy progression down and so we'll start i mean uh by putting an edge or braising a burr on one side then we'll raise a bur on the other then we'll progress down to the fine belt where we'll refine that edge back into you know like new sharp so cool yeah let's see it i'm so excited all right check it out so basically you're gonna place the blade make sure we're on kitchen so again you've got the two different types so i've got a kitchen knife here i'm going to put it in the up position for kitchen for 20 degrees place the knife in the guide make sure i've got it all the way to the heel power on and pull through and the one thing we want to remind people is to stop with the tip of the knife in contact with the abrasive belt if you don't do that you will risk and we've heard this before and the old one the feedback would be around my tips of my knife so the way to avoid that stop with the tip of the knife still in contact with the belt and you won't routine tips at all so once i've made one pass and this knife formed right up i've got a little bit more work to do on the heel but you can feel that burr all the way along the edge of the knife yeah when you're sharpening and that's what you want all the way down because basically you're taking that metal you're pushing it over and that's basically creating a new profile on that knife so we're going to go ahead and do a couple more passes here and notice i'm not rushed like it can feel like oh i'm hammering my knife here i want to hurry and pull it through but right okay so that's exactly how i felt in the past using my original work sharp is i'm like holy crap i gotta this is moving fast i gotta really rip this material through yep and this is just i mean it's a slower speed so it's gentler lets you take your time and really create that profile you're looking for and so what i've got here is a burr all the way at the heel and i just needed a little more new work on the tip and we should be there so probably take three strokes on this side get one more pass on this and now i've got that burr all the way down the edge of that knife and i'm ready to do the same steps on the other side so i'll do three strokes real quick on this side not bore you guys to tears with too much top so and now i've got created a burr on both sides of the knife yep all the way down and now we're ready to go ahead and refine that back down to like razor sharp edge so to do that that's what you're talking about earlier kurt about you know how do i progress grits well it's really simple basically you're going to pop the front edge guy out of the way push this down take the belt out so basically you compress the spring yep and turn it it locks and then you swap belt swap belts throw the other one on there and i'll turn it around i'm not that good yet to where i can do it from behind the machine so while you're doing that can i tell you something that's really embarrassing now talk to me i'm right-handed right and i'm like oh it's a power tool i have tried to sharpen my knives this way before left-handed instead of like this oh wow there were a few times that i was like what the heck is going on i'll be 100 honest guys that's embarrassing this is one of those stories that i hope you just forget uh but i definitely love the whole new setup i think it's so cool i can't wait to use one yep it's it's made it a lot easier to feel like you're in control using this machine so now i'll just take a few passes on the fine and we should be back to you know ready to slice some tomatoes and you can hear the difference right yeah like how soft that belt is that's one thing i tell a lot of people too when they're first starting out sharpening is start out with the fine grit like don't take off any material off your knife just get used to this motion where you're pulling through and that way you're really not removing a whole lot of material from your knife but you are getting used to that motion and it's being gentle right on knives that you you care about that you're so we were talking earlier about muscle memory and i think this really applies right here where when you're first starting out you're trying to build that muscle memory on how to hold it and how to appropriately drag it through um so it's straight you know and get the proper edge so uh i think that this is like when you first start out use a higher belt yep and a knife that you know it can take a little bit of punishment at least for me i'm like oh dude i don't want to you know i don't want to put my babies through there and you'll find you know that as you use it oh it is a lot safer than i thought it was it is a lot but you know we do describe this as a power tool so like with any power tool i mean the first time you used your grinder were you like i got this figured out you know what i'm doing here i know it takes a little bit of practice to get it down but once you do man you can do some really custom edges with this and we've got like i said the the guides the safe guards in place to make it really easy on you as well i love that you brought up hand grinders because the first time i used one it was a long time ago i was a early teenager maybe but and then pop it hits your finger or something and you're like what just happened i don't know what just happened because it like cauterizes it as it's going through i don't know it's weird all i know is yeah yeah just take some time to figure it out but uh we've really worked hard to make sure all the safeguards are in place to make it really simple to use um a couple other features that we added that people were talking about um especially with like your pocket knives and things like that is the guides so um you can with a nice knife you can be scary to put your knife in and then like rub your blade face against anything i mean let alone a guide so what we've gone ahead and done is put in leather lined guides on this model to where you don't have to worry about scratching or marring your blade as you pull it through there so it's got that soft touch to it okay right on the edge there you can feel a little oh yeah that's soft so that when you're pulling through there it's not going to mar your blade yeah i don't want to pull in my custom damascus right and jack it up look down and also you've got scrapes down the side of your knife that's nobody wants nobody wants that so that's and especially with your kitchen knives too you want to keep those looking pretty so that's where the leather line guides help another thing in the pocket knife community is thumb studs they can be something that on the old one would interfere as you go to approach you'd be hitting the guide um against the thumb stud you'd be getting interference so now you can see on this model we've actually got a tapered back guide to where that'll actually accommodate a thumbs that all the way in there to where it's not interfering anymore so just little things like that that the customers would let us know that are things that are challenges for them or things that helped form what the mark ii is today i think that's so cool especially we were talking about like if you really really wanted to make sure you could get up to the end of your blade if your thumb stud is in the way or maybe you have a thumb stud that's further out than normal just take it off take off your thumb stud put it in give it a perfect uh edge and then screw your thumb stuff back in you're back to back and running so yeah if it's something that you're worried about you can always remove it but we've really worked hard to make it to where it's you know this this is the machine that you want to get in you want to get your knife sharp you want to get back to work right that's where this bad boy comes in to make it as simple as possible but yeah if you're worried about it you can totally take those off and get in there and get work around them for sure love it yep um so the other thing that we didn't really get to on this one would be i mean tool grinding i mean you can do some crazy stuff with this bad boy i kind of spoke to it at the very beginning but you pop off this cassette here you throw on get the guide out of the way so uh he was talking about using it for grinding tools sharpening axes all that kind of stuff and i was like i need to run home and grab something i'll bring it back and i am so excited to have kyle show you what this is and show a little sparks flying yup yup give me a good one that bad boy yep okay oh my goodness his butcher cleaver so story behind this my great grandpa in germany he uh they were he was a butcher and that was the one he'd use to um you know process some meat out on the stump in the backyard i don't know all i know is i have it it must have cracked because it's what it's welded you know you see a little weld action going on right through here but that thing is old and it's withstood sometimes and i think we need to try to put just a little bit of uh you know get some shine on it yeah man let's get this bad boy back into its former glory so um basically you just rotate that cassette forward like we talked about before where you just rotate it up one spot and it locks into place and now i've got this ready to attack any kind of tool that you can get access to the blade you can sharpen at this point so right and we were talking i was thinking like lawnmower blades and pruners and all that kind of stuff yep lawnmower blades pruners uh axes whatever you need if you can access the blade we even sharpened an ice auger i think with this one first add it so that it's just crazy the amount of stuff you can do but yeah really simple just bring the sharpener to the blade and then we're going to throw some sparks here so now maybe depends on the seal a little bit all right so you can already see the amount of material we've moved on this side and i'm just going to flip it over and attack the other [Music] so [Music] get this thing back into fighting shape so heck yeah just like that we've got to get that an edge on it pretty good i'd keep going with it that's so fast though but it's quick i mean it wouldn't take that long to get this thing back into fighting shape and i wouldn't want to be a chicken in the neighborhood right now that's for sure [Laughter] seriously that thing yeah it's it's uh it's a storyteller that's for sure that's sweet yeah and we can definitely keep going and get rid of those pits and stuff like that but i think the viewers want to see maybe for sure let's see let's see some more product we can do that after yep all right man so have we covered everything with the mark ii we've covered a lot of it i think we got most of it um if you guys have questions about it don't be afraid to you know let us know through either our instagram or our youtube channel or just you know get on our website www.workshoptools.com we've got more details there um there's videos that go into crazy detail on this machine as well so pop over there if you've got more questions but that's kind of the quick rough and dirty intro of the mark ii and they'll see your face if they jump over they they will yeah that's right if you can't get them you guys can't get enough of kyle jump over there watch some of the demos yep they make great content cool so the next uh item i think we were going to talk about oh real quick we uh we have the mark twos on the site uh always check the website whether it's in stock or not right now it is in stock for eighty dollars guys are you kidding me dude yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna go home and use that on all my knives and all my tools dude i have a yeah that's kind of the thing honestly for 80 bucks are you kidding me well that's the thing with it too that it really shines over a lot of different sharpeners out there is the because it's that flexible belt like if you throw something like this in there this crazy curve a lot of life sharpeners out there there's no way you're going to be able to access that entire blade but with the mark ii with that flexible belt it just follows along all the way through the pole i'm not going to use that 80 grit belt on there but all the way through and you can just literally sharpen just about any curved blade out there just because that flexible belt technology really lends itself to those odd shaped blades and stuff like that so dude so cool yeah man that is so cool okay i'm really excited for this next one i think this will appeal to every person that looks at this video and is on blade hq buying knives if you have a knife you need one of these yeah this is the precision adjust sharpener it's a rod and clamp style sharpener which there's a few of them out there but none of them come in at the price point that the precision adjust is competing at um and the which is phenomenal hang on 50 bucks so we have a handful of sharpening systems from all kinds of brands out in the warehouse but for 50 bucks just this one yeah it's it's been crazy popular and the reason is is it gives you the ability to really customize an edge on a knife so basically it's simple to set up you've just got this tower that clamps into this base you've got this rod system that is a magnet that just pops right in and then you've got the ability just like that magnetized you got the ability to go between 30 and 15 degrees and there's a lot of knife owners out there that want that to be able to have that very oh yeah well i mean especially if they want a one-stop shop you know i want to be able to sharpen my kitchen knives and if i need to i want to be able to sharpen you know my big fixed blades or my hunting knives exactly exactly so this gives you the ability not only to go between like 20 and 25 degrees but in one degree increments so you've got the you know the one degrees on the right and then you've got the larger in between degrees on the left and so you know most your pocket knives will come in between 20 and 25 degrees so you just set it where you want it we'll say this one's 25 throw your knife in the clamp tighten it down and the clamp itself has these it's almost like a soft material on the inside it's like a padded material so it's not going to scratch your satin blades or exactly black fences it's gentle on your stuff and then you throw the knife in with the handle on the right and then basically you've got take this out of here 320 grit that rotates it's a tri abrasive we call it 600 grit the euro dayton and then you got all the way down to a fine ceramic as well so you can progress that down to like a mirror-like finish with that ceramic we've already heard people saying like i want to go further i want this thing to work like i can't see anything in it so we're already in the works of trying to answer that call as well um i don't know exactly what the engineers have in mind but i do know that there is something in the works for you guys so some higher grit maybe like a a strop or something yup something like that i'm guessing that they'll probably be getting to but for now man i can't get enough of this sharpener just as it sits because you can really create some cool edges basically you throw it in and then basically you set this thing up the way you want it so i've seen people attack it from over here where they're sharpening and you just kind of go back and forth like this all the way down the edge and i've seen guys go straight at it but there's really no like right or wrong way to do this just do what's comfortable for you um get it into the place that you like to be and you're just gonna keep removing material until you just like we did on the mark ii you raise a burr so you just kind of keep going back and forth and it's almost cathartic like people talk about using like a wet stone and how that's like relaxing for them like i kind of find by getting that zen place with this thing too where i'm just kind of sitting here chilling and it's such a slow process too that you can really like get in there and see what you're doing to your knives and stuff like that um one thing that i like to do that i actually did on the knife i'm carrying today especially with this system is i'll put like a rough finish so i'll start with that 320 grit and i'll just go along on the back of my knife here to about the belly because that's where that's where i'm like cutting rope that's where i'm like getting in there and having a hammer on on stuff and then i'll leave the front i'll go ahead and progress down through my progressions and i'll get like that mirror-like finish out towards the tip where i'm doing kind of that like fine needle work and stuff like that and that's where this gives you the ability to customize your edge and i know a lot of your viewers out there like to customize their knives with you know flitanium scales and stuff like that well i find myself thinking like why wouldn't you want to take that customization all the way to the edge of your knife you know so that's where this one really comes in and shines and being able to like put the edge on that you want um i was telling you earlier i've got that crkt the minimalist that little chopper and i took that and i put a 15 degree edge on it just not the most you know at 15 degrees is pretty steep but dude i can shave with that thing now it's just a fun little like toy i get out and show off to people so that's where this one really shines man is to be able to like make it your own make the edges that you want with the precision adjust oh man i love it i think this is cool and uh we were messing with it earlier it's just got this button on the back yep yep once you're done with one side you've got that burr kurt's got it flip it over yep so you just push in that button rotate over now with some of your longer knives you'll find that they're going to interfere as you go to do that rotation but a lot of guys will just because it's magnetized in there you just pull it out and you can flip it over to do it that way some guys just do it that way the entire time they're using it they don't even bother with the um with rotating it there or you can get like yourself to like the edge of a table and then you can go ahead yeah that way too okay that gets me a little closer to the knife than i want to be as i'm sharpening it so yeah that's another option but we've tried to make it again you want to be comfortable when you're sharpening your knives you want it to be something that you're if you're comfortable with it you'll get confident with it and then you're just going to have crazy success with all the knives that you're sharpening so i think this one's really cool especially for just the average knife guy okay the hunt's coming up i gotta sharpen all my blades you know this is so quick where if you're using if you're sharpening a lot of knives and you want to you really want to get after that edge i think the mark ii is awesome for that it's just it's cool that you guys have different variations from hardcore sharpening all the way down to like this the guided field sharpener um yeah that's like the outdoorsman's buddy i don't know once people have experienced using this sharpener not a lot of them go out in the field without it anymore just because there's nothing worse than a dull knife when you're trying to process an animal or you're out there and you need it for backpacking or something like that so having this with you it's lightweight you can quickly raise a burr on a knife and then refine it down to a fine abrasive and then down to the ceramic uh it is in my backpack every time i head out that's for sure so while uh while we're on topic even though i totally threw us off topic guys these things come off what are you kidding me i'm sure there's like 50 guys out there watching this that have one of these that's like whoa i didn't know that a minute that pops off or maybe it's just me and i just haven't paid that good of attention but cool system dude i'm so excited about the uh the precision sharpener i'm gonna be sharpening my bug out right after this yeah dude it's it's a fun system to be able to like i said play around with get in there feel like you're a pro without you know much of an intimidation factor because it is a slower process but man you get some crazy results with it that's for sure plus the best part 50 bucks yeah dude you sharpened one knife and you basically re-cooped your your investment oh for sure definitely man and it's always always fun to buy new knives don't get me wrong but being able to keep the one you love sharp all the time right and then also like hand it to your buddy and they're like man that factory did an awesome job with that like nah man that was me that was me that's my so i can't even tell you how many times guys don't don't slaughter me for this but how many times i've been like man my knife's getting dull better maybe i should just buy a new one which don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with always getting a new knife but at the same time like if you want to be a little pennywise and be able to sharpen and take some pride in that ownership oh heck yeah dude we got one look dude i've got a custom bug out right here yeah fly tanium can't replace the custom blade um dude i'm excited to use this that's something cool great little product what else you got man yeah man so if you're that knife nut that cares a lot about you know being able to customize and wants the ability to do those crazy angles we've got the ken onion edition too um this is basically this is the big boy this is this is the step up from the mark the mark ii is the guy that wants to get in i've got a bunch of kitchen knives i want to get them sharp i want to get them back into to work this is for the guy that's like i've got a knife that i want at 17 degrees i've got a knife that i have that's at 28 degrees like that specific that's where this one comes in you can adjust the angle between 15 and 30 degrees just by rotating here for your guides it also has the removable um guide so that you can rotate forward just like and use it like a power tool just like the marker as well so it's got all the same capabilities as the mark ii but just a little bit more you know refinement to be able to have more belt options as well where the mark ii has three belt progressions this has six so you've got a lot more ability to refine an edge to your liking and then on top of that we went ahead and stepped it up where you can add on the blade grinding attachment this is for this is awesome yeah this is for the guy who wants to be able to sharpen like the pros do and a lot of professional sharpening companies actually use this to sharpen knives on so basically you've got this attachment that goes on it's called the blade grinding attachment when it's sold all together it's the elite package we call it and then you've got these larger belts that go on and they slide around here i feel like this is this is the type of sharpener that allows the amateur sharpener to become learn learn you know and become pro 100 being able to do whatever kind of custom edge you want yeah it was built specifically for that person that wanted to like i want to buy a knife blank and i want to buy my own scales and i want to start making my own knives or it could be someone you know that with that track it's got a tracking knob on it so you get the belt lined up or it could be someone that has just some nice knives that they just want to come to without any guides or anything like that the only interface that they have is with the abrasive honestly exactly like most knives have the edge put on them from the factory they use a 2x72 grinder they come up they sh once twice and then they set it up off to go on to you know be put together whereas with this you've got that same ability to come in and put that same factory profile it takes a little more practice but once you've got it down man you can do some crazy uh stuff with this i've repaired blades where like we even took at one point we broke the tip off a knife it was hard to watch just do it broke it right off went in we ground down the the spine of the knife a little bit and then brought that tip back in and repaired the knife so this is the that's awesome ultimate when it comes to knife sharpening it's got variable speed where you turn it on and you can just lock it in you can adjust that speed up and down and then you can now you've got access from like a smaller knife all the way up to where we can take you know grandpa's cleaver to this thing and we've got full access all the way across and we're throwing some sparks now and really getting to work on it um this is my favorite for big blights is using this system right here so that's cool yeah it's also got like this plate here if you wanted to get in and do some custom work on the back of a knife i mean a lot of thought went into this thing it's adjustable again between 35 and 10 degrees on this one so even more variability between angles this is the granddaddy if you want to get into custom knife making or you want every option to be able to sharpen your knife the elite's the one for you it's the bee's knees oh sorry it is man it's it's awesome yeah so i feel like i feel like i just want to put all these in my shop my shop yeah it's almost i in my mind i'm like man in my shop i want a knife you know a belt system for my knives i want to do it but this is like a cool table top version that works just the same yep yep we um when we go to visit shot show we set up in benchmade's booth and people will walk up and get their knives they're part of the life chart program and they want their knife sharpened they're at the show this is the sharpener that they get their knife sharpened on when they're at the show yeah so yeah we we are really proud of it and it it works man flat out the ken onion regular base package is a hundred and thirty bucks yep for just with the cassette right and then the canned onion grinding attachment is that whole system yep that's the set that you threw on the hole that would come separate yep right so that's separate and that's 80 on the website yeah so such cool stuff man yeah man um the only other things that i would speak to at this point would probably be something like people often wonder like what else do you have it's like in the more traditional sense like you know this is as traditional as it gets we have wet stones and the nice thing about all of our sharpeners whether it's the guided field sharpener or the wet stone and the thing that we probably said enough times to make you guys nauseous but we want you comfortable so how do we get you comfortable we get you some aids that are there so we've got the guide set up for a whetstone where you can do 15 degrees you can flip it over you've got a 17 degree and then we've got even more options as well to get you for those you know 20 degrees if you wanted to go that with a knife but this is just a guide to help you build that muscle memory of when you're sharpening a knife to where you know what that is if you don't have that you're just guessing you know right trust me i've done that yep i've done that and i think they just do it this way right and for me when i first started out man like it was the most frustrating process to not know like i think i've got it right and you're going and you're going you're going and then you eventually get to a point where you're frustrated and you're not getting the result that you're looking for so putting those guides in to help you get that muscle memory we talked about earlier to where eventually you don't need them anymore but you can't do that without some sort of reference so we try to build that in on all of our sharpeners to where you're set up for success dude i love it yeah guys they have the guided field sharpener they've got small tools to be able to work on your sharpener or your knife you know you guys have a really cool selection of cool products and for me i've spent so much money on knives that 80 bucks to keep them all like primo yeah it's hard not bad or 50 right they're both they're both great i think you know they they both serve that's kind of the question we always ask when someone walks in the door is like what sharpener should i buy and it's like what do you want to do with what do you want to do with that like what are you planning on sharpening and that kind of leads you into one of these categories if you're that person that wants crazy amounts of variability and and needs the granddaddy then yeah we'll point you towards there but if you're just someone that's looking to get in i want to get my knife sharp i want to be able to sharpen my axes my lawnmower blades man the mark ii is perfect because it's just so simple to get in get out and and get back to work and then you know if you're wanting to be able to like tinker and customize then you can't do much better than the precision adjust that's for sure heck yeah yeah we've got something for everybody right down to our micro man i love this little thing um for you fidgety guys out there that want to you know flick your knives in and out you know where did i put mine oh there it is i i am the guy that's constantly flicking my knife on a zoom collar or whatever but i want to tune it a lot of the times they're stiff right out of the factory oh yeah so we've got the micro tool to where you can it comes with your allen wrenches you throw it in you can make those adjustments to where you can get that flick that you're looking for yeah it's also got a little ceramic if you want to do some sharpening with it as well it wouldn't be a work sharp without a sharpener on it um and you can also like change out those pocket clips so i think these two are like a great pairing for me when i'm wanting to tinker with my knives that's for sure dude that's awesome yeah that that's i gotta be honest i think this is one of the funnest um videos that we've had in a long time because we actually got to see some demonstration of knife sharpening from the pro yep it's it's something to nerd out on that's for sure you know we i love knives myself i love doing custom stuff but you know i think the edge of the knife gets neglected a little more often than it should um and to have the confidence to be able to attack that edge and know that you can put that customization that you want on it it just takes it to that next level i love it man it's something and that's the thing is not it's not just me you and it's it's everybody we're all knife nerds you know and so to be able to have this at home that you can do yourself at honestly a pretty good price point you know is is super super fun that's cool man thanks man so all right man well
