have you ever been going through airport security and wish that you could just see the screen and look into everybody's stuff if so this video may make you change your mind thanks to photographs published on the Instagram by the people who conduct these security checks known as the Transportation Security Administration or the TSA for short we can all now see the weird stuff they find there are a surprising amount of people who have just absolutely no idea what the rules for what you can take on a plane are or they're evil and bad at hiding it let's dive into some of their craziest vines [Music] in 2012 the TSA confiscated this plastic bag full of eels presumably the eels are what got the guy in trouble and not the fact that they appear to be swimming in more than three ounces of liquid but eels weren't the only thing he was trying to sneak onto the plane he also had a hundred and sixty-three marine tropical fish in 22 and vertebrates he was trying to get to Maracaibo maybe this is what the third Finding Nemo movie will be like if you're more into long squiggly land animals then perhaps you'd like to hear about this snake which someone attempted to smuggle aboard in 2018 inside of an external hard drive the nylon stocking the snake is inside must have been the back-up plan in case the x-ray machines sawed through the computer unfortunately unlike the eels in the snake these seahorses did not survive their secret journey for some reason their owner must have thought that seahorses could just breathe liquor he not only was the large bottle of liquor prohibited the seahorses happened to be on the endangered species list the person trying to smuggle in these birds got creative she wrapped him in sucks and taped them to her legs and chest she was attempting to smuggle them into China but they were discovered during a pat-down at the LA Airport the United States Fish and Wildlife Service arrested the woman for smuggling and exporting and endangered species out of the United States this image is the only one that comes from a success story it's a bottle of rice wine and inside is a dead scorpion and a dead Cobra neither was on an endangered species list and since the bag the bottle was in was being checked it was allowed on so I guess that's how you get a snake onto a plane rather than the old nylon sock and a hard drive method perhaps the most famous century on the list is this gun knife since guns and knives are prohibited on planes who knows what the owner was thinking it was featured on late-night talk-show Jimmy Kimmel Live Jimmy Kimmel also made fun of the TSA instagram account saying that the TSA uses more hashtags and a thousand teenage girls combined which is pretty true they really did use an unnecessary amount of hashtags this knife that looks like a gun was also confiscated by the TSA who clearly do not make exceptions for things that look cool it probably didn't even notice the stun gun above it which was also confiscated because it looks so lame in comparison so what exactly happens to the crazy people trying to bring all of these weapons onto the planes well when the TSA finds banned edged weapons and firearms at a checkpoint they contact the police and it's the police who decide what happens to the perpetrator based on individual background checks interviews and local laws it could potentially lead to missing your flight getting fine or even getting arrested the police also take the weapon in question we all make mistakes sometimes like filling an enchilada with a knife case in point this eight and a half inch blade a passenger misplaced and was luckily found before they took a bite the passenger was eventually cleared for travel after a slap on the wrist the TSA Instagram page described the passengers intentions as being delicious not malicious I guess when they're on break TSA agents just hang out and come up with rhymes for their Instagram if you're a 60s greaser looking to keep your hair on point while simultaneously being prepared to stab someone clearly these are the knives for you the only downside is that they cannot be carried onto an airplane and since their concealed knives if they're confiscated you can get into more complicated legal trouble than you would otherwise since they're banned in some countries and states please guys just bring a regular come man if you have to bring a knife don't put it in your carry-on not even pocket knives are allowed in carry-on bags let alone weird hidden comb knives these three canes which look like something an elderly spy would use to incapacitate some thug are also not allowed to be carried onto airplanes and like the combs because they're concealed weapons when the TSA finds them it's a lot more likely that you'll get fined or even arrested replica bullets like this one on this cane are also not allowed and carry-on bags as they are still considered empty shell casings if the projectile is still attached even if there's no gunpowder the TSA once reported finding six bullet shaped whiskey stones which had to be confiscated for violating this rule this little thing looks pretty innocent compared to the other examples however it caused more problems than all of them combined that's because it was designed to look just like an improvised explosive device also known as an IAD when a TSA officer saw it on the x-ray machine six checkpoint lanes were closed people were all moved out of that area of the airport and the Port Authority Police TSA explosive experts and the Essex County bomb squad were all caught in hundreds of people were inconvenience but it wasn't an actual ID the person carrying it was on their way to a training event for professionals who work with ie D detection devices so it was built specifically to show up as an ID on x-rays as a test it resembles a fully functional bomb when looked at on an x-ray monitor it's a bit baffling how someone who works with the stuff every day as their job either forgot it was in their bag or thought it would be a good idea to try and take it through security the penalties for individuals bringing items like this onto planes go as high as $13,000 so it's always worth double-checking no axis no hatchets of any kind are allowed to be carried on if you're flying to the wilderness and are going to need one it has to be in your trick bags it doesn't matter how many cool holes it has in the blade making your own melee weapon is also not allowed this makeshift device was made from a paint roller sandpaper wire and nails it's not allowed on planes but it may make an appearance in the WWE well I'm glad to see that actual batarangs are commercially available I'm sad to say that they cannot be brought in your carry-on these three would discover two Dallas Love Field Airport surprisingly the TSA confiscates a ton of inert grenades every year apparently people think that because they're gonna can actually go off that it's totally fine to bring on an airplane wrong why can't you bring inert explosives on the planes because the TSA can't tell that it's inert until they have an explosive professional take a look at it that takes time slows or even closes the security line and can even get an airport evacuated that's why anything that even looks like a grenade is banned from carry-ons and check bags hence why it's a bad idea to try and smuggle weed onto the plane inside of a grinder that looks exactly like a grenade believe it or not someone actually tried to do that at the Sacramento International Airport in 2016 and instead of getting high they just got their stuff taken by the TSA while spear guns are for shooting fish not people they still aren't allowed on planes this spear gun was found in April of 2012 at raleigh-durham airport if you need to bring a spear gun it better be in your check bags anti-tank mines even inert ones are also not allowed on planes these are the kinds of things that can cause serious delays at airports you probably won't be surprised when I tell you that this was confiscated in Texas other kinds of giant inert explosives that aren't allowed include mortar rounds the TSA posted these two discovered in Sacramento and Evansville Regional Airport to their Instagram at the Fort Lauderdale Airport in 2013 the TSA discovered what is probably the spookiest thing they've ever found well at least the spookiest thing they found that they can talk about online after investigating a clay pot they discovered that it contained a human skull the tourists who owned it claimed that they had bought the pot as a souvenir in Cuba and had no idea that it contained a skull ironically the tour said they had been told it would ward off evil spirits what might be more effective at warding off evil spirits is this replica grenade launcher which someone at Hawaii's Liwei Airport thought be totally fine to bring onto a plane or if you're not interested in the fake stuff maybe you could try bringing something like this expended eighty four millimeter anti-tank weapon at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport no you cannot bring any tank weapons even if they are expended if you're anticipating a more close combat fight whenever you're flying you may be tempted to bring something like this glove or maybe even just this little claw unfortunately you won't be able to carry on items like this so you'll have to check them or hope they sell them at whatever Hotel you're going to maces are also not allowed and I don't mean mesas and the liquid spray stuff though that's also banned I mean mace is in the medieval flail weapon frankly it probably isn't the best choice for whatever Fred Yap planned anyway a sword looks much more maneuverable to me just please remember to put it in the check bag unlike the owner of these two well not exactly a melee weapon you shouldn't try to carry on giant ceremonial ribbon cutting scissors either moving forward a couple hundred years in weapons technology the TSA discovered this horn full of black powder and a checked bag black powder of course is explosive and very banned this item is so dangerous and weird that it made its way onto the TSA Instagram year-in-review post while it looks like it could be a Bluetooth speaker it's in fact a homemade avalanche charge designed to trigger avalanches the FBI were notified and they arrested the would-be passenger but not every weird thing that the TSA finds his evil at LaGuardia Airport in New York an agent found a Chihuahua inside of a bag it was returned to its owner who didn't even know the dog was in there apparently it just hopped in while the owner was packing presumably because it didn't want to get left behind taken at the Albany International Airport this picture shows a TSA agent with an entire fueled up chainsaw that someone tried to just take right through security onto the plane you really have to wonder if some people understand what airport
