Crappie Fishing With A Unique Setup!

well good morning folks it's Richard here today I'm on the Coosa River system once again in search of crappie that's my focal point today the surface temperature is at 49 degrees on top water is extremely high we've had a lot of rain and it's been that way for the last two months all of our rivers creeks lakes has been extremely high and hood that's the conditions I've been facing there are tough conditions but I hope I'm able to catch a fish on this particular rod right here this is called a trouser rod it's t r uz ER is seven and a half feet long and this was a gift from Vasco da Silva I hope I said your name right sir let me um let me spell his last name maybe y'all can pronounce it better than me va si le vie who has a channel on YouTube oh what woman is hollering at her dog okay excuse me because I'm focusing on y'all right now I fish it's the name of his channel very good fisherman he's from Illinois he knows a lot about carp fishes for crappie bass lake trout yellow perch you name it he catches it but he sent me this rod and it's the kind of Rob that I can afford these are very expensive rods and light as a feather I thought the stuff that I have was like this is life and the teal I want to show y'all the tail real quick let me be care y'all see that that tilt is less than 1/16 of an inch in diameter 2 feet from the last eyelet the tip of the rod M word is nothing but flex now I fish told me I talked to him on the phone he says no Richard I want to see you catch a fish on no matter what kind of fish because they're very difficult to land and that's what I want to do today so today on this rod I have a flooger president very small lightweight rod a real excuse me it matches the rod I have two pound test I mean excuse me that's four pound test mr. crappie lame I've is lying but because the water is so muddy I'm going to have to really fish with these fish today folks to catch them and I know that I believe that if if I can allocate some fish I can kind of get on top of them if I have to very close to them because the waters high and very muddy but I'm going to search for these fish and Oh we'll see what we can do the main thing is is to catch a couple fish on the rod that I fish says that's very difficult and I want to thank you very much for this rod so let's see what we can do now normally the water would be real low this time of year they trial the Coosa River down reload [Music] from about mid fall always through winter so I've done seen a couple logs floating down the river I'm just gonna take my time did we get to the spot well speed up a little whoo-whoo well let's get into fishing besides a hook now what I'm gonna do which I should have already done because it is such a small hook I'm gonna bend it up just a little just like that and that's basically all I'm gonna do right here a lot of times I bend them up and sideways but this is a really really sharp hook and for attracting I'm going to use slab sauce we'll spray a little bit of that on there to start with I'm gonna get on the brake line right here drift down it and watch my depth finder see we're in 21 feet of water right now what I'm looking for like always is shared very important but I'm gonna have to approach this dog there's a little bit of breeze blowing this way I'm gonna go right up in front of us and turn the boat and head fish towards the wind when it comes to cropping about half way I'll start there then I'll go to the bottom right off the bottom a little bit and then I'll actually fish two and three feet deep from the surface down I'm gonna find these crappie now the reason why this little corner right here I believe is gonna hold crappie I'll be damned there's a little one right there right off the bat that's a little white crappie but the reason why it's gonna hold fish is because there's a tree top right there on that corner and I don't know if it's been planted or high water situations like this is jammed up against that last corner post but whatever the situation is there's some structure there and you know that fish bed around 10 feet deep golden chartreuse I've been killing the crappie with that color there we go well this is a little bit better fish right here come on in here boy that's a little white crappie but he's not that big but folks it's been that way today I think that a pretty fish though colored out real pretty let's let him go right here kind of long and slender that fish is probably about nine and half inches long but they're real deep was just surprised them to me they're within about a foot of the bottom right here on this spot there's a new that's a little better fish let's put them on in here yeah I like just raw I fish I'm proud you sent this to me there's a lot of different ways I'd fish with it now we're getting a little bit better I saw pretty nice fish or for today your this fish he's got some pretty colors homie I'm doing nothing where you do that respectable white crappie now I'll show y'all what I'm catching these fish home beautiful beautiful white crappie let's let him go nice fish the bottom surprising me within a foot from the bottom but there he goes alright folks let me show you my bait I had to switch to it because I needed a bigger profile waters money but this is about the Garlin it's called a glitter critter and I'm using a 1/32 ounce gold headed jig sighs for sickle hook and with a loop knot let's see if we catch a couple more face okay let's see we're on the bottom now I'm going to raise it up about a foot that's where they're at so they're around 19 feet they barely barely moving that bait almost just dead sticking it right in front of the fish there he is man I love this rod look at the bow in it and it's not that big a fish either I'd do anything to catch a two pound fish right now but I'm happy with that on a day like today laughs that crappie some different new talking about a sensitive rod right here my goodness it's perfect for vertical jigging let's let him go we're catching fish I'm not gonna graph about that in a mudhole let's get it back down there now notice I'm just barely barely moving that knee barely moving it anything more than that and they'll lose track of it because this water is extremely extremely extremely extremely muddy alright folks I'm gonna change to a hand-tied jig go and chartreuse perfect color have a lot of confidence in it this is a hand-tied jig it was to me Alex rahl I okay I'm gonna get back over top of my spot but before I do that I'm going to put a little slap sauce on this one too now hand tight jigs I hope the sent a lot better than plastic really on your plastics what I do a lot of times is I'll put that slap slap sauce in the pack and just let it soak but let's get this go jig back in here and let's see if we can get bit if the fish hadn't moved I certainly hope I can catch a fish on it because it's a good looking jig guarantee you tired perfect cold we'll get it done under these conditions or I have a lot of confidence in it that's my opinion but let's catch this one there he is they come up in the water column just a little bit now this might be my best fish right here we may have to net him yeah that's a pretty good fish right here yeah doggone hand-tight jig done it yes siree look at third look there look at there that's proud to catch that fish talk to a lot of fishermen today nobody's catching good ones are all small Lebanon high features long look at you man I don't like to keep them out of the water too long yeah I made you buy it didn't I boy he's stubborn thing I had to hold you in front of that fish's mouth for a long time come on in here they're just all decent little white crappie today I hadn't called a black crappie yet it is getting dark dark dark and tomorrow they're giving 100% rain that means it's going to rain tomorrow folks let's let that fish go and the water is going to get even muddy or and higher and it isn't it ain't that something go on back the pretty thing y'all look at the shade right there folks I want to apologize for the dark outro what happened today was real sample I found some fish knew they was there and I just parked on them and made them by that's the reality of crappie fishing under these conditions I want to thank y'all very much for everything y'all do the great comments hey
