COZY WEEKEND AT HOME | random haul, cooking, baking, & tidying up! ✨

[Music] [Applause] oh [Music] i hope you are well and having a beautiful day so far it is the weekend and b and i have plans just to kind of do stuff around the house this weekend work on some home projects and all that good stuff so i figured i would take you along for the adventure i just want to kick off this vlog with like a random haul i have some boxes kind of stacked up here some of it is home stuff some of it is palmer's puppy stuff and then some of it i think are some really cute hats so i'm excited to open these and then we also got in some more of these like bamboo cordless blinds which are i guess they're blinds just window treatments i think they're kind of called roman shades i don't know there's so many different names for them um but i got those two for these two windows um in my office so maybe we'll install those this weekend not totally sure the list is pretty long so b has kept busy and we also have to like work on some other computer stuff which he's helping with like taxes that time of year and then just other kind of life adult stuff so that's kind of the plan for this weekend but let's open up these boxes okay so first step i'm really excited about this it is this really pretty kind of tapestry quote banner i found and the plan is which it may change but the plan is to put this by our tv because i saw this beautiful image on pinterest which i'll give the um creator i'll put her handle here who did this originally um i saw it on pinterest she created kind of like a little gallery wall moment with her frame tv which i kind of mentioned a while back that i want to do as well um but she actually used the same exact banner and i really liked it i liked how it was kind of added some symmetry but it wasn't so symmetrical if that makes sense it just felt very like organic and natural so i'm gonna try to work on the gallery wall today we'll see how it goes but i'm excited to see this tapestry in person oh also our outdoor sofa for the back lanai is supposed to arrive today which i'm very excited about okay here is the tapestry [Music] it's like a whole thing i'll read it for you guys real quick it says our crew we became one then grew our family our home me and you with walls that see it all our dances and downfalls tears and laughter echoing through the halls moments that remind us it's love that truly binds us to a story much bigger than we know may we treasure each hug and kiss be quicker to forgive and always believe what is good and true as each day we remember this crew begins and ends me and you so cute i love it so we'll play around with it later and see what it looks like kind of hung up next to the tv we still don't have our media console and console in the living room so i don't know it's a little tricky to see because that'll obviously anchor it the media console anchor everything um but yeah i don't even know it's supposed to arrive at the end of february but it hasn't even shipped yet and march is like in two days so yeah we shall see okay next up are some things i ordered from amazon so the first are these little baskets that i want to put under our nightstand because we have kind of like a little opening i'll show you guys in a minute um but i just wanted like a little catch-all place so we can put stuff just in that little open spot but kind of make it look a little more put together and i'll probably put this on top of a couple books i'm thinking i don't know again we're going to play around with it but i kind of need to these are really cute but i need to kind of shape them a bit so i think i'm going to take some bowls or pots in my kitchen to kind of help it get in that nice round shape because they got a little squashed so we have that and then next up okay well one we have some toothpaste for brandon and i and i love this brand it's hello and i think it's just called hello naturally whitening fluoride toothpaste and we've never tried the toothpaste before but we love their mouthwash it is so refreshing has amazing ingredients so i'm loving this brand and i'm thinking we will also love the toothpaste and then we have toothpaste for us and then toothpaste for mr palmer i ordered him this vets best nature's healthcare toothpaste and it's veterinarian formulated so it had amazing reviews so i'm thinking it'll be good and then i also ordered this little finger brush so i can brush his teeth and i feel like this will also be good for kind of helping him with his nipping and learning how to do a soft little puppy bite instead of like actually nipping hard when he's playing so i think this will be really helpful so cute it came with the two pack of like these little these little brushes you put on your finger and then you can just brush their teeth so that'll be good we'll probably try to do that later today i haven't brushed his teeth yet so that'd be a good little thing to practice and then the next thing is this dog water bottle which i ordered the blue color so hopefully it's blue inside yes it is good job good job amazon oh my goodness i'm so excited about this this is such a good invention but basically it's perfect for walks or whenever you're out and about with your pup and you fill this side with water and then you press the button and it fills up this little section with water and it'll actually like suck up the excess water so you can really kind of preserve the water you have whenever you're out and about so great little puppy find and then the last thing i'm unboxing are these beautiful hats from olive and pick and i will definitely be wearing these all summer long oh my goodness okay let me give you a close-up i love this kind of shell detail along the rim so beautiful and so coastal and then in this box we have the real showstopper also how cute is their branding i love it okay are you ready for it oh my goodness so cute this beautiful wide brim pink felt top wow i'll try it on for you guys it has taken me way too long to add a pink hat to my closet i'm so excited little man just woke up from a nap so i thought now is a good time to give his teeth a little brush in come here baby it's gonna be so fun it's gonna be yummy i'm just gonna use a tiny bit of the toothpaste right now because i just want to make sure like he's not allergic to anything or i don't know okay i think it's grape flavor it doesn't really stay on here but i think i remember that let me see i want to smell it oh it probably has one of those little you're seals so good palmer stay here stay here with mama can you take that off gotta get the seal up say hi to your friends baby say hi say hi hey guys i love you hey guys i love you okay thank you oh it's clear that's good we don't need any artificial colors it really doesn't smell like anything oh this is gonna be fun okay palmer hey look homer look sit [Music] good boy okay i'm gonna open your mouth oh look at those teeth look at those teeth i think he's already lost a lot of his little teeth and then the bigger ones are coming in good boy does that taste so good and then it said you don't have to rinse it out which is good it makes your life easier good boy brush your teeth brush your teeth i have this song on spotify it's called brush your teeth it's like a little kids song and whenever i would babysit growing up and even when i still babysit like my little cousins and stuff i always play that song and they love it so a little babysitting hack good boy is this so fun if you like this is it so good good job let's smell your breath let's see if we smell any difference not really but good job you were so good his breath smells a little metally which i was like that's kind of weird but then i looked it up and it's a very common cause of teething or symptom of teething in dogs is if there's like a little metal scent it's just part of like their teeth kind of growing and stuff i don't know but i was comforted to know that that was normal but it's kind of strange i wonder how much longer he'll be teething good job you want me to keep brushing your teeth he wants to play with the whole time breath apply a drop to your dog's tongue oh should we do that maybe okay we're gonna apply a drop to his tongue [Music] i also ordered palmer this adorable palm tree little bandanna i think i'm gonna wait to put it on him until he gets a little bit bigger just because i think it'll be a really fun chew toy right now instead of a accessory but i think it's absolutely precious you living your best life you living your best life i'm gonna do like a 20 minute little tidy up session i like to do this every once in a while just when i feel like things are getting kind of chaotic especially with palmer's dog toys now it's like having a kid with all the toys just spread out around the house it's very fun but i do like to kind of keep it a bit more organized so i'm gonna set the timer like i said get my little vacuum going i also want to spray our stainless steel appliances because there's lots of fingerprints and stuff so i'm gonna do that and then i think i'll do a little vacuum upstairs so let's get it done starting to clean using this pot to reshape these little rope baskets was so helpful basically i just put it in the middle and then i just kind of form it and it kind of stays in place so a good little hack here are the little baskets in our nightstands i love how it looks and of course it's practical too because we can stick random stuff in there i'll probably end up putting some of palmer's toys in here but these nightstands are really cool they're from pottery barn so they're a little more pricey but they have this little charging spot in the back where you can plug in some usbs or just regular charging outlets so it's kind of handy especially when i'm like working in bed late at night i can just plug in my laptop so love it and i also ordered these beautiful lampshades that pendant lamp shades that we're gonna hang above each nightstand so that'll look really really beautiful in coastal might be a few weeks till we get to that but i'm excited to see the finished product [Music] i'm filling up this soap bottle which if you've been watching my vlogs for a while you know there's a whole saga behind this soap bottle but basically i ordered this before we moved like months before we moved into our new home because i thought it was like a cute little personal thing i could just add in right away but i ordered it from etsy which can you tell i love etsy i've been buying so much stuff from etsy um but i got a custom little tag made and it says dish soap but i wanted to say hand soap i didn't buy it for dish soap because we have this um little pump thing for a dish soap that's just like really practical and like just easy to put it on the sponge um but i want this for hand soap for our powder bath so when guests come over it's like a cute little personalized moment because it says the bicker staffs which is our last name and it says the year we were married it's just like a cute little moment you know but i i meant to put hand soap but i ordered one that's a dish soap but i recently got a cricut which if you don't know a cricut basically you can design a bunch of different things with vinyl and other materials so you can customize things like this like whoever made this from etsy probably made this label with a cricut machine so i totally am going to make my own little label that says hand soap i don't know if i'll be able to find the same exact font but i'm excited because it'll actually say the right thing [Music] anyone else like to pretend they're cinderella while they're cleaning or is it just me i've had these flowers since valentine's day so they're kind of on their last leg but they still look really pretty and lots of them still seem pretty healthy i will say though one of the worst smells is when you are um refreshing your flowers and the old kind of mucky water smells so bad as much as i love flowers that part is a little rough [Music] okay i ended up cleaning for way longer than 20 minutes but i was kind of in the mood to clean which is kind of a rare occasion so i figured i would capitalize on my desire to actually clean so i just kind of did a lot more than i was planning on i um stripped the gas stove top of the cast iron i'm not sure what they're called but i kind of scrubbed those down a bit so feeling good it's feeling fresh little man is still napping so i'm going to make us some lunch and then i'll go play outside with him for a little bit it's such a beautiful day but it's actually getting so hot here in florida so on sunday i think it's going to be 90 degrees that's the high so summer is coming in hot literally but yeah i'm gonna make some lunch i think i'm gonna make a smoothie because like i said it's kind of warm outside and smoothies have just been sounding so delicious lately i crave them every single day pretty much so i'm gonna make that for us and then i also have some leftover rice which i don't know what to do with but i want to use it before it goes bad it's not that much it's like that much rice so i think i'm going to do this and get some chickpeas and uh put them in the airfryer for a little and roast them and then do the rice chickpeas oh you made a noise chickpeas spinach and feta and hummus i think that'll be kind of a nice little mediterranean bowl so that's the lunch plan [Music] [Music] here's our little impromptu lunch i'm not sure how filling it will be but it looks pretty tasty and if we're still hungry we can munch on some other things and our smoothie turned out so green which i always love and the trick to getting really green smoothies is to use lots of spinach and spirulina and yellow fruit because red and kind of like a lot of berries make it more of the brown color all righty lunch was yummy palmer's doing his little food puzzle game so fun and the outdoor sofa i told you about it just arrived so maybe i'll try to do that later and so laughs and brandon's slurping on a smoothie on purpose he's trying to be loud as well um but maybe we'll put that sofa together later if we have time but right now i want to cut some carrots and celery because we're low running low on our stock in the fridge and i've been feeding palmer carrots to teeth and he loves them so it's a good snack for the whole family so i'm gonna chop those he's really going at this puzzle game he loves it um and then i also want to bake cookies chocolate chip cookies yeah brandon's excited because we have some friends coming over for pizza and games later so i want to have a little chocolate chip cookies to go with the evening so it's going to be a good little baking session and then maybe we can enjoy some iced coffee with some chocolate chip cookies sounds like a good duo carrot porcupine loves carrot porky pine a num num num mom porcupine loves a carrot porky pie carrot porky pine num num [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] brandon is actually putting together a sofa for me so exciting oh it looks pretty from what i can tell also hopefully we will have more building with brandon segments but we've just had a little hiatus because the builder has been quite busy he's been booked and busy i got a love love while brandon's putting together the outdoor sofa i am actually going to work on some touch-ups so with touch-up paint i'm just like little nicks around the house um and little scuffs so we have a spot at the tip of the stairs right here um just from when we moved in and then same over here and then also right there oh and in the laundry room with which if you guys watched my vlog i don't even know maybe a month ago where we installed a hook on the ceiling for this hanging plant right here um we ended up taking it down because it just looked so silly um it was just kind of a fail but we just want to touch up the ceiling paint because we filled in the hole and then now we just need to touch it [Music] but it up make me happy it's not the reason my heart sees [Applause] me [Music] what i've got [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] let's go look at what daddy made us [Music] it's so pretty outdoor sofa we're gonna have lots of cuddles here baby love it i'm so glad it doesn't cover the window at all super super cute it looks really good and we still have a lot of room for other furniture as well which i still want to get quite a bit of stuff to put out here so maybe i'll do like a little back patio refresh video and we can go shopping for some more decor pieces and i need to sweep under here later um this is where our little doormat goes and stuff so i will do that later got a little dirty from the little arched one i have but i think that'll come out pretty [Music] easily [Music] the cookies are fabulous i tried one and they were so delicious and so chocolatey and unfortunately i don't think i'm gonna get to the gallery wall today around the tv but i'm gonna plan to do that tomorrow but i did want to see how the banner looks on one side of the tv so thankfully for the banner since it's so lightweight i can actually hang it with a little tack so i'm gonna give that a try see how it looks and then we'll work on the rest of the little display tomorrow [Music] okay obviously it looks a little silly right now without the media console and without this anchoring it down on this side but i think i'm really gonna like it i think i need to put it up a bit more too but i definitely can see it working really nicely hello friends it is the next day and i am actually just getting ready to cook a cozy little soup for us to have for lunch and i've actually had this soup before my friend alyssa she actually made it for brandon and i when we came over for dinner one time and it's really yummy it's just like a pretty simple veggie soup with potatoes onion garlic carrots celery peas corn like tons of veggies so it's super nutritious but also delicious and i've been kind of making a lot of soups recently pretty much one every week and basically how i've been meal planning is i'm i pick out a soup for us to have for like lunches and then instead of having like canned pre-made soup and then for dinner like we have a different recipe kind of a more exciting one than just like a little soup but i think soup is delicious i don't know if we'll keep doing this in summertime when it gets really warm because sometimes when it's super hot outside like soup just does not sound good but for now i'm kind of capitalizing on the winter season so i'm gonna cook this and then oh update about the gallery wall so i just got a shipping notification yesterday i think um later after i like finished vlogging for the day i got a notification that the media console shipped so it's on the way and i figured i might as well just wait to do the gallery wall until it arrives because i feel like it'll be really helpful to kind of have that piece to visualize how everything will kind of look together so i'm going to press pause on that but i don't know i might do a couple more things today but we shall see first and foremost though let's cook this yummy soup show me what it's like to be circling among the clouds because without you by my side i would be stuck here on the ground you're lighting up the way i can see the road ahead of me i won't be stumbling in the dark your eyes are shining like the stars i was down until you saved me until you set me free my eyes were closed now i see clear as day and i just wanted to say that you can take me high [Music] i can see the sun staring at you they smell delicious and while we eat lunch we're gonna do our marriage journal that we like to do once a week it's really great just to kind of get on the same page and it has some discussion prompts so we really like it [Music] soup was super tasty so if you're looking for a good little soup recipe i'll link it in the description also super healthy so that always feels good and just to know i added probably about a tablespoon of red pepper flakes to mine so i made it extra spicy they didn't have it wasn't that spicy but i just love the kick that the red pepper flakes give but that wasn't on the recipe so if you like spicy as well i definitely recommend adding in the red pepper flakes so now i'm going to install this little doggy bell and the back door we got this for palmer obviously um and it's a dog doorbell so basically it just teaches them to let you know when they need to go potty so every time you take them out you have them like ring the bell with their paw or their nose and then eventually like they'll be able to just let you know when they gotta go potty instead of going in the house so i'm gonna try to install this now yesterday when i was painting when i when you guys saw me painting touch-up paint around the house i used the wrong paint so brandon had to redo everything so i'm trying to get better at like house diys because i don't have the best attention to detail when it comes to that kind of thing but i'm trying and you know sometimes you just gotta learn by making mistakes so that's what i keep telling myself but i'll try to do this without any mistakes brandon is literally hand feeding him an apple and my heart is actually melting so cute oh my goodness they're in love with each other [Music] so [Music] just made our afternoon iced coffee and let me show you how the bell turned out super cute um on the directions they call going outside tinkle time which i think is adorable and they call it the tinkle bell like tinkerbell but tinkleball funny i think i might need to adapt the tinkle time whenever i say it's time to go outside to palmer so super cute but i'm going to end the vlog here just gonna spend the rest of the day relaxing playing with little man and hanging out with brandon and editing this video so i can get it up for you guys
