Cozy Book Worm Apartment 📚 // The Sims 4 Speed Build: Apartment Renovation

[Music] hey everyone it is Tanya welcome back to the channel and welcome to another apartment renovation today I'm renovating one of my favorite apartments in San moishuno which is 910 Medina Studios and I'm going to be decorating this to be for a bookworm or a book lover because yesterday we just got a brand new built-in buy kit for The Sims 4 called The Sims 4 Book Nook kits I put out a full like overview of all of the items looking at everything so I will have that linked down below if you'd like to see like everything that's in this kit but this build is just gonna be me building with it trying to figure out a cute space of course using a lot of the new modular bookcases as well as the Cozy couches I did build this over on Twitch last night so if you were in that stream you should recognize this uh but I love how this build came out so I'm so excited to share it with you uh because I really like this kit I think this might be my favorite kit we've gotten so far are the furniture pieces are gorgeous these modular bookshelves I feel like I'm going to be getting a lot of use out of and the swatches are just really nice as well all of this I feel like is pretty versatile you can use in a variety of styles and it comes in some really nice neutral swatches plus the pillows on that couch that is in the window that's like a built-in couch I love them so the colors in here end up having like some mints and blues to them but I also used a lot of like darker Woods I was going for like a really cozy Vibe and lots of stacks of books I was actually really excited these stacks of books from the kit stack so you can actually like put a bunch of them on top of each other I only at the highest point put two but you could stack them as high as you want which I think is really fun and can also lead to some really silly builds I feel like maybe some sort of like Wizards space with like stacks of really high books it could be really fun I don't know I'm just getting all sorts of build ideas I feel like it's always what happens when we get new content but let me know if there's anything else you would like to see with this new kit I think it's a really fun one and let me know what your opinion of it is as well so obviously heavily using the new kit here grabbing the artwork A lot of the Clutter pieces uh the new painting that I put on the wall which I believe is a book cover I think it is so pretty and then this little piece that's like a little house made out of books it's just adorable uh I will be mixing in other things as well from various packs this is not a limited pack build uh but it does have a leaves it need a new kit so that uh suitcase that has books on top of it I believe it's from cats and dogs as is this ladder that I'm putting over here it's from debug I really wish it was in a different Swatch but that's the only Swatch it comes in and I thought it would look so cute to have a letter leaning against this really tall bookcase so that's what I ended up doing here I think that was a fun addition and then I ended up duplicating this rug scaling it with tool a little bit so that it would cover a wider space here and also I don't think I do it on camera but I end up having it so there's two of those coffee tables to make it more of a square coffee table to fit the space a little bit better anyway moving into the kitchen here I went through a few different countertop choices but I opted for this one from the Country Kitchen kit in the end because it added a little bit of color to the space but it still felt really cozy and I quite like that plus we had a little bit of blue with cushions and stuff in the living room so I just thought it tied in perfectly here right here I am moving this end piece of the counter down because I really wanted the Decor on that but those corner pieces are so hard to place if you're not actually on a corner so I was able to use the tool mod to place that better I was really happy about that and then I didn't really want an Abrupt tile over here to separate the entire wall so I kept the wood paneling across and then I used these like Stone pieces they're like a wall art piece from Jungle adventure to create a backsplash which I thought was really interesting and I loved how it came out I also changed the Swatch on that porch and we'll be duplicating it later and adding a second one but because I added those stones in the kitchen adding cutting boards required the tool mod so that they would be in front of the stone but I was really happy with that as well I also got some flowers over in the corner and then we should be figuring out appliances here shortly uh because it it did take some fiddling to make sure it looked okay especially with that weird backsplash I did I wanted everything to look intentional and not like choppy uh so figuring out where the sink is going to go I end up putting it right next to the cutting boards here I thought about using that one because I thought it looked cool to have the faucet coming out of the stone but the stone like went down into the sink and I just I thought it looked a little odd so I opted for the base game sink but I did use this fridge from the oh goodness is this from the Country Kitchen kit yes it is so I ended up putting it on the end because that was the best placement for it for it to look okay with the stones that I have as that backsplash and then the backsplash couldn't go all the way across because there was glitches with it but then I ended up putting the stove here anyway and that just made it look a lot better and like it wasn't a mistake because it kind of cuts off where those are gonna go I do get some more clutter in here so we have some cups and stuff by the sink I also move this chalkboard out I originally was thinking keep the one on it that has the book because it you know the Sim likes to read but I decided the coffee one looked a little cuter and then I also added some cat treats in the kitchen because me and my chat decided that that if you have a cozy space where you're gonna read books you also need a cat in your lap uh so that's what I ended up doing here and the whole interior of this build is kind of like a mixture of styles I wanted to be super cozy but obviously a lot of the new items are a little bit more modern but the kitchen that I picked out is like rustic so I combined a few different Furniture pieces in here but I thought it worked nicely on the table here I get a bread box this other like kind of empty magazine box that came with the book Nook kit some other magazines and I believe a plant as well just a few cluttered items because I want the space to look really lived in like the Sim is all over the place and you know actively using the space and I didn't want to have the same books everywhere so I was trying to come up with other things to put throughout and uh I think it worked really really well so over on the other side of the living room now I decided to use more of these bookshelves but the like square ones to be like a sort of a stand for the TV I thought that this looked really cool and I think this is going to be something I used a lot as a TV stand that's basically what my living room is are we have three bookcases and one of them is on its side to have the TV on and the other ones are upright and we have like all sorts of clutter in them uh so being able to do that in The Sims is very helpful in my opinion I'm probably going to be able to very accurately create my living room which I've done before like years ago when I first moved here I created my apartment in The Sims as a video but I think these bookcases would make it a lot more accurate uh anyway I added a another set of books on top of here as well as a candle I also really like this shelf on the wall that is just like a couple of books I put a play up there that's actually a plant that we got in the recent Greenhouse kit is that what it's called Greenhouse Haven kits uh and I thought it was so perfect with like the trailing Vine coming off of it honestly The Vibes of these last couple kits are just so good there are things that I've wanted in the game for a long time and they kind of look like cc to me uh so I'm happy to officially have them I'm also just adding a cat bed and I just kind of go through and over time figure out what items that I forgot for a cat because if you've seen any of my builds if I have a pet in the house I forget everything they need every time same thing with toddlers like oh you you need a bathtub or a toddler potty I didn't have it sorry so I do end up having to go back and add some stuffs for this cat primarily a litter box so that does end up being in the bathroom so you'll see when I do decorate the bathroom it's not in there at first but I do go back and like rearrange it you'll see that I got a couple of paintings here in the entryway which I also turned into like an office space I love this big mirror from Jungle Adventure I feel like that works really nice here and I like the steps I created to walk up into this apartment because I feel like this apartment's really tall so making it ever so slightly shorter I thought add to the look of this and made it just a little bit different this is the floor plan I haven't done before so I was really excited to do that and um also just made the entry a little bit more interesting but anyway this is the bathroom I do end up moving the toilet in the sink to the other wall like I had mentioned so that I could add a litter box in here a little bit later which ends up going where the toilet is now but pretty much all the decorations in here stay other than that I think I might have removed the the bathrobe I'm about to place down but it also did end up adding a like little wooden piece that has some magazines and stuff in it that way there's some reading material in there as well uh but we're jumping into the bedroom first before I remember to go add the kitty litter and I made this custom headboard with the new bookcases I thought this would look really nice to kind of combine these items I do switch out the bed for a different one and then I was able to put some of these smaller pieces on the sides to act as bedside tables I just think this looks so nice and the wood tones here were perfect with this bed from Eco lifestyle so I was pumped about that and also there was a lot of green and blues already in the apartment so it just tied in really nicely but here I am cluttering up these bedside tables with tons of books these new lamps that came with the kids and I even cut her up underneath in like the bottom section of those bedside table bookcase shelf pieces to make sure there's plenty of stuff down there I used an empty one on one side side and the other one has a couple of books but I was able to place some books down here using move objects and you can see I'm just like placing them in there at the correct level dragging them out and putting them back move objects is a little finicky sometimes but I was really happy with how that came out and then over on the other side I got some storage boxes and stuff and I think a plant as well yeah I used to this one so there I am placing all of that and I think I also get a mirror up above that I just think mirrors like that look so cozy uh but we're back in the bathroom now before we finish up the bedroom so I can move things around and add that kitty litter box because I just I completely forgot about it and it's kind of an important thing to have if you have a cat in The Sims and we need a cat in a cozy Bookworm apartment so I also added a piece of artwork in there and there was that magazine rack I had talked about uh but just got some artwork up above the bed and then we have all those nice modular pieces of bookshelves in the living room but I decided to add this one it's been more traditional one from base game in here thinking maybe it was an older bookcase of the Sims maybe it's a little bit more of a Sentimental piece so they self kept it and it is in this room but that's pretty much it for
