I hope they do a head count after. Feel it could be easy for someone to get lost under the big tarp.

What are those circles in the pile next to it?

How do they get that particular shape hill of corn?

Quick calculation: 36 800 tons of corn, an average human needs between 2200 to 2500 calories a day (let's assume 2500 cal), 100 g of corn contains 86 cal, 1 kg of corn is 860 cal, a human would need 2500 cal/day / 860 cal/kg = 2.907 kg of corn a day. A ton is 907 kg, 36800 ton is 33 377 600 kg of corn, divided by the daily 2.907 = 11 481 802 days it would take a person to finish that pile of corn, divide that by 365 that's 31 457 years, or it would take a city of 31 457 people one year to finish that corn pile.

Now, a dairy cow consumes about 50-60 lbs of corn a day, let's assume 60 lbs, that's 27 kg, 33 377 600 kg of corn / 27 kg = 1 236 207 days to finish that pile for a dairy cow, that's 3 387 years, or one year of feed for 3 387 cows. A dairy cow produces about 30 liters of milk per day over a period of 10 month a year, in year with only the corn feed from this pile they would produce: 3 387 cows * 30 liters/day / 12 month * 10 month = 84 672 liters of milk (22 368 gallons).

There are about 630 calorie in a liter of full fat milk, multiplied by the 84 672 liters that's 53 343 196 calories, divided by the daily human need of 2500 cal = 21 337 days of caloric intake for a person with just full fat milk, or 58.5 people for a year.

Now let's compare the two results: we could feed about 60 people for a year with the cow milk of we could feed a city of 31 500 people for a year with just the corn.

If you add 600 pounds (272kg) of meat of a cow, multiplied by 3 387 cows that's 921 264 kg of meat, cow meat is about 2 500 cal for kg, this means we could feed about 921 264 people a day with the meat, of 2 524 people in a year. In total, with this pile of corn, with meat and milk, we could feed about 2 600 people in a year, compared to the 31 500 people in a year with just corn.

In percentage the cows have a calorie efficiency of just 8% of the total calories contained in the corn.

These are calculation made for fun, out of curiosity, and with considerable simplifications. Please feel free to correct any mistakes.
