It's probably accurate for a single person with no dependents. But I have yet to find someone list the cost of living for a family of 5. We moved from Denmark last summer to Valencia and I do not feel Spain is any cheaper than Denmark these days. Sure you can always find small things that differs. But I often see how these COL models use Wine as well as Fruits and vegetables as comparison metrics. Sure I can buy a bottle of wine in Aldi for 0.85 EUR, but the broccoli I buy is just as expensive/cheap in Denmark as here. And they both come from Spain. Given how salaries are depressed here in Spain, I really wonder how people can afford to live in the big houses they have, have at least 2 cars and 3 kids in private schools, which seems to be what many locals have around us. We have 3 boys that are attending a bilingual private school, so that they can keep up their English as well as learn Spanish. All in all with tuition, uniforms and materials, that's roughly EUR 30.000 a year. The school has more than 2000 students and 90% are local Spanish families with an average of 2 kids in the school. With the annual salary in Spain being somewhere around EUR 25.000, I can't figure out how people can talk about how cheap it is to live in Spain compared to other countries in Europe.
It would say it is, but IDK what that to do with this sub.
I can tell you that:
car spent is the same. Mine is 300€/month.
Bills moves from winter to sumer and you will need air conditioner. In winter can expect around 150€ on water-gas-electricity. In summer add 150-200€ on air conditioner.
Food is relatively cheap, more if you buy ingredients instead of processed food. You can eat healthy for 100€, depends on the coirks you buy.
Living costs is the most important thing, pay attention to that and negotiate always. And search, search and research.
With all included I would say minimum is 800€. Then, add the remaining things.
