hello everyone are you tired of constantly dying to the heat on scorched Earth yes or being so thirsty that you could drink all the water from the Oasis and the kenyons yes well if you are you are in luck today I'll be showing you some effective methods to help combat that awful heat and Ure you never go thirsty again so if you want to know how to have a good time in the desert and stick around for the tips and check this guy out so all righty then well on that note we are going to be taking a deeper look at the stat heat resistance and how to prevent hypothermia but first we need to do something go get yourself a nice water jar or a canteen or maybe like five and fill them all up with that delicious highquality H2O just make sure if you're headed down to the river or the Oasis that get some water that you watch your step as capos control these areas and they cannot wait to take a bite of the tasty Survivor I swear we are their favorite snack oh always awful all the time okay well let's stop reliving the past and focus on how we're going to survive this harsh environment so once you have all those containers filled with water we're going to be tossing them all in the fridge while those get nice and chilled let's talk about some hot facts and stats if you want to survive the heat you need to know what positively and negatively impacts heat resistance now let's start with the obvious one your clothes so for the sake of this demonstration my survivors wearing nothing but a little loin cloth as I wouldn't want to leave you with the wrong idea of what stats you can expect my eyes are up here everybody all right you will notice that we are starting at zero heat resistance as every Survivor does now there are three different sets of clothes that will positively impact your heat resistance basically they just keep you cooler here are those three in order of how effective they are first we have the cloth armor the first available armor you're able to BU in the game which gives you a small amount of heat resistance then we have the desert armor which is going to be the second tier of armor when it comes to heat resistance and lastly the best armor for heat protection is the Ghillie armor now you will want to completely avoid these other armor types if you're trying to stay cool Your Hide armor fur armor kitan armor flak armor and Riot armor now I will make a mention here that technically the best armor for heat protection is actually the hazard suit from aberration however because that DLC is not out yet we won't be talking about that and then also the Tech Armor technically is better than the ghilly Armor but since if you have Tech Armor you're probably already far enough into the game where Heat's really not an issue for you so overall for the majority of people Gilli is going to be your best bet let's talk about home sweet home stepping on a house grants you a house buff this basically means it affects your heat and your cold resistance however it's not not always a positive thing some materials are better for heat protection and some are better for cold protection and some are simply just more durable than others so since we're talking about heat protection let's focus on how each different material affects your heat resistance thatch is the very first building type you unlock and it's actually the second best in regards to heat protection you will want to entirely avoid wooden structures stone structures metal structures and Tech structures as you will overheat and die quite quickly now if you are worried about durability you can always build an adobe structure or a that structure and then use a more durable material on the outside by creating a second layer to the house this would be especially useful in PvP situations or you can simply just block off your house with Gates or wall if you're in PVE now that we've covered some of the basics let's head inside my humble abode which I created specifically for this video you know I mentioned that you should mostly only be building with thatch or adobe well that's for the house itself if you want to use accents or details like wooden railings or stone pillars then you can still do that and it will not negatively impact your heat resistance so for those of you Builders out there go wild all right well all this talking is making me a bit parched so let's head on over to the fridge and take a look at the water that we placed there earlier these containers are now ice water how this happens is you place them in the fridge for a small duration and then develop the ice now why this is important it's important for two reasons an ice string can immediately cure heat stroke you get heat stroke if you're out in the sun too long and your vision will go blurry and you will be stumbling harder than that night where you had one too many beers with your best mate so always have some of this on hand especially when playing these scorched Earth Map the second thing ice water can do is increase your total heat resistance your hypothermal insulation will increase by 84 when you drink the water and it will decrease your cold resistance or your hypothermal insulation by the same amount basically it just cools you off however this buff only lasts for 45 seconds think of this buff as a quick cool me down now that we've drank something let's get a bite to eat normally M would opt for a basic cooked steak that fills you up because it's easy to obtain however the meat we will be eating today is even more valuable than a fluffy Avis we'll be eating the meat known as The Shadow steak sauté with a name like that you know work has to be put in to make this tasty dish now what you're going to need to make this is three pieces of fine meat you can use three cooked prime meat three cooked Prime fish meat three cooked lamb chops or three prime meat jerky toss that meat into an industrial cooker or a cooking pot then add in 20 meal berries eight narcotics two rare mushrooms one saver root one Rock carrot and some water now cook this up and get yourself a food that will make you feel more accurate than Hawkeye this steak's buff actually gives you plus 50 hypothermic and hypothermic insulation it also gives you 80% reduced weapon recoil this buff lasts for 180 seconds before you will need to consume another one to regain that buff not only is this great for the heat but this would also be an invaluable tool when exploring caves and using any weapon that has some Kickback now that we have the main course out of the way let's take a look at some side dishes there are two dishes that can increase your heat resistance and slow down your water consumption the first is the calan soup it gives you plus 50 hypothermal insulation and it will slow the rate of water consumption by 25% this buff lasts for 15 minutes and here is the recipe five satral 20 tento berries 20 Amar berries 10 mesal berries two stimulants and some water the second dish is actually Cactus broth so Cactus broth will reduce total water consumption by 50% increase heat resistance by 60 and reduces animal detection or creature detection maximum detection is lowered to 12 M so not only are you cool and it's dehydrated but you can also snake up on those Critters out there in the wild you can make this with 10 misho berries 30 Cactus sap 10 aul berries 10 Amar berries and some water and the great thing about crafting all this food is that you don't need to be a certain level you could literally be level one and if you had the ingredients you could craft these items so combine this Cactus app with some ghilly armor and there's literally nothing that you cannot sneak up on maybe head back to the Oasis and sneak up on those caos for some revenge or you can use it to tame a mantis like most people probably would I mean when you're shove on a death Fromm horn into you know where it's best that the bugs don't know who did it all right now early on you may not have much fortitude or great armor if you go inside and you are still sweating then there is a fail save bust out the tent the tent actually has even more hyperthermic instulation than what an adobe house does and you can build tents as early as level seven the only downside is at tense are not a permanent solution as they do lose roughly one durability every 25 seconds and they cannot be repaired and one of the most sought-after resources for the tents is going to be silk if you're not sure where to get silk either look for a the purple flowers lean around on the ground or just kill yourself a Lantra and you'll have all the silk you ever need speaking of fortitude you're get roughly four through five heat resistance for every level of fortitude so combine that with all the previous methods that we've discussed and you should be able to stay fairly cool however on the off chance you're still sweating and you're still hot and you continue to die once you get to the mid game there is a permanent way to always guarantee you stay cool just like in real life these machines are Lifesavers on hot summer days craft yourself up some air conditioners and you will be so cool you will never want to leave your desert home again now I know what you're thinking wait a minute I thought AC's were used to hatch dinosaur eggs and yes yes you're right that's what pretty much the majority of the arc population uses them for but on maps like scorched Earth they're actually used for well what they're used for in real life just to cool you down so use these air conditioners keep you cool and they will stack in regards to how much heat resistance they give you you can go through and you can snap them into Windows which is where I personally think they look the best in the cleanest so they're not crowded and just everywhere however obviously if you're using them for dinosaurs and breeding you'll actually probably remove your foundations for that but let's not do that here just so we can keep the insulation built up also so you can put them on the ground and you can create a giant Circle if you choose to just know you cannot stack AC's on top of other AC's but the workaround to this is to create a u shape of your AC's and just do two on each side creating almost a U-shaped form and just have one opening for yourself then use a half wall with a half ceiling to create a second layer and if you were to stand into that U shape that'll be the coolest place in your house and you'll have over 2,000 hypothermic insulation however ever I have not found a need for that many AC's so far and that would be super super expensive when we're talking about Metal uh and the Crystal resources for that just know that if you need it and you want to be so cool you turn yourself into an ice cube that option's there all right there's one last thing we need to discuss when it comes to surviving the heat hydration the dos and the don'ts of the water now first of all let's just squash a rumor here I've seen it online quite a bit so let's just get that out of the way when it comes comes to your water wells in the basins that are there the rumor is that you can't drink out of those till you place the well and that is 100% false everyone says that it's not working for them just head to the straight like the very center the dead center of the well press the interact button and you can drink the water now what you can't do is you can't fill up any water containers until the well has been placed and once the well has been placed you do not immediately actually have access to the water it needs to to fill itself gradually over time and then if you were to place water tanks on the outside or crop plots for irrigation those two will take time as water accumulates in the well that is very crucial and very important but if you see a well and you're low on water you can drink up now let's talk about the Heat and how it affects the water so if you're to see either one of these two icons know that your water is going to drain faster and if you completely run out of water know that also your stem will recover significantly slower so if you're run out of water and then you're waiting for your stem to recover it's going to take you much much longer and often this leads to you dying and what's probably going to happen is you're going to end up just like this guy oh why is this happening to me why I'm 100t away come on run run run we are at 87 L my God the heat the heat is so bad and guess what I am already thirsty so if I'm already thirsty and I have no Stam and there's the blade eing heat I'm going to die did you also know that when you walk you use less water than when you sprint it may not be noticeable when the weather is normal but when it's extremely hot out and that blazing sun is there just know that if you walk there's a good chance you could save your life you can walk a long distance and lose very little water but if you sprint a short distance you'll lose almost half of your water meter or default that 100 total capacity so walking certainly has its advantages when it comes to consuming or conserving your water just know that if you are walking you do need to be alert otherwise there is a good chance you can get snuck up on buy some predators and even though you might survive the drought you're going to become somebody's next meal all right everybody well that about wraps it up for today's hyperthermic insulation guide and managing drought if you enjoyed
