controlling clutter WITHOUT losing collections 😬 "Not a Minimalist"😬 Small Kitchen Declutter Pt. 3/5

we make space for the things we love this is something that you love and you want to keep we're going to have to let go of other things if we're going to make it work why is it chunky the beverage cart for the parties what do you think keep or go it's lazy organizing seeing them all in one place and not across the top of two different things yeah and there's more Starbucks mugs back there and look at all that you're like that's going out that's just not usable I never really considered putting all the baking stuff over on this side not only is it like tidy and organized it still has like that kind of Danny Vibe better not end up I'll cut it I'll cut that part off we're wrapping up the end of months of working in your house and transforming it it is not the same house like the only spots that we haven't done it's like right over here this little corner and we will get there oo okay so the other day we made huge progress in here you already said there's a lot that you think we can let go of today just decluttering certain things and we have the Starbucks collection that we've got to you know we make space for the things we love this is something that you love and you want to keep so we're going to have to let go of other things if we're going to make it work all right we hopefully can get this done today I think we can okay I can all right let's do it we've got our unhelpful helper who is so jealous of everything today yep so jelly I do just have to say for the record I've been having very sweet moments with Lucy it has been amazing but Ricky is getting extremely jealous and anytime that Lucy and I have a connection Ricky has to come in and ruin it so but I feel like Lucy and I we've made significant progress to start we still have empty cabinet space up here yes and are you okay with moving the kind of like vitamins and things up there and down there you have up there down there up there down there up down down there as someone who gets sick quite often and I have the worst possible bathroom for storage of medicine so I don't keep anything that's not like a nightquil bottle in there uh um because it's just too humid I would actually love to get that into that cabinet yeah so we'll go ahead just relocate it I'll pass to you and let you do the honor vitamins got to have the lactate easily accessible oh there's more medicine in this box too okay Danny's doing some rearranging over here I'm seeing what works for her I'm to shuffle a little bit this one Co you got me started on this whole labels thing out front so yeah wait this is my way to the best way to kind of lazy hack organizing make it look like you have your together but you're really you know you're just pretending you have it together it's lazy organizing but also the ones that I use most frequently I'm putting in the front labels out instead of like having things out like like this you just make the front nice and it doesn't matter what's going on back there as long as the front's good we're good business in the front party and the back yeah an organizational mullet yep okay uh the Pez is for I was going to lactate in it is it worth your time I don't know that I'm actually going to do that still not expired I'll take it to my students okay and here's um we'll set this is our de cutter bag for today I should probably hold on to those definitely never know when you're going to need them and these things uh she's moving adding things to them use it or lose it yes were you having that bag of the challenge bag there did it help you not actually yeah I I was surprised by that I like probably use it no in the last video I made as we were decluttering stuff when things were just barely past the expiration date or they were about to expire soon we put it in this orange bag down here for the like use it or lose it or just challenge yourself use it up challenge whatever you want to call it I love doing that in all of my declutters cuz it kind of just it's in the middle it's in the middle of the kitchen like you have to see it and then you it challenges you to get creative with what you're eating too I love it all right so we've cleared all of most of the medicine up here but I did discover this is full of medicine so I want to check the expiration date on this before we put it away and then this is what she's been kind of shuffling around over here medicines that she uses more frequently within easy reach here but we can still store more up here let's see what's in there this is like the um the three like wicker the cabinets that you have in your bedroom that like things just go and never come out again is this like Tiger Bomb but the Vietnamese version yes ooh oh my gosh that one smells better than Tiger Balm what is it called Golden Star aromatic balm from Vietnam ooh I don't think rubs really expire I think they're fine like paper rub and stuff so I'll give you oh yeah give you those this is good so I'll leave good stuff here oh oh we have some um safety pins for the sewing kit that has been moved around a lot I forgot where the sewing kit ended up going okay hold on I got more see can never oh you have it you know where it is I know where it is she knows where it is finally oh I found more tea and coffee it's not what I expected it to be on one side we have medicine on the other side more tea coffee Let It Go I love it oh I love seeing the top of the microwave oh that's Vietnamese coffee too is that from 2016 probably I can let that go okay can Stakes were made can we pour it in a bowl and let it smell nice as we okay let it okay we'll put it here for now I'm just going to put this here to smell it occasionally and yeah all of that could go straight a trash bag we just put it directly in here yeah now we're finally to the expiration dates while Danny's doing her thing over there this has never been opened February expired that's probably something o 2023 it's up to you pumpkin spies 2023 2023 I think it probably all right so yeah lesson from Danny is that she doesn't do well with closed things closed containers oh but look oh for a broom no that was for like an air diffuser thing why is that in there is this the he Sho did you thr it away no they're still in there we found the heel to the poop but not the shoe the cerella shoe hey more your little turny guy so mini cheese I'll just let it go yeah we can let that hold back ask go um all right and she doesn't want this guy we can reuse this for something we'll hold on to it cuz you always say hold on to like container things until the end Dan yes I do say that yeah you told me to hold on containers hold on to containers until the end so we won't donate that last you pay attention you listen to me I'm a teacher I have to listen I'm not always the best listener but if I expect my students to listen I have to listen too we'll put this to the side we might be I feel like we there's something clever that we can use this for where things we can use it so that things don't go lost or look you can bend these back and then it's open so this could even be for spatulas or who knows we'll see we'll see there's so much like I don't like the fact that the covid tests are shoved like that cuz then you can't use it you can't pull the the bucket down and I think that would keep you from using it cuz if it's not easily like functional for you be much harder to maintain the space there we go I like that perfect okay that's better totally usable oh here's more medicine good buy chocolate chocolate goodbye tin goodbye other tin yeah it's really pretty but like I don't have a use for it can I have this one yeah I'm going to find some something to do with this oh it's a coaster set that you can put pictures into but then I never did anything with it let's donate it what about flowers why my students gave that to me for my birthday this year you me to go add it to the other flowers sure you have a tray of multivitamin delicious vitamin those little tin things the like floral tin things we can check those we shall recycle more little cute little tins Danny how do we feel about the pineapple snow globe why is it chunky you got pineapple pulp in your snow globe an empty microwave surface this is empty too sweet may I yeah all right Danny is going to take it outside where it belongs I love having some empty space we do need to stop to clean this but I just asked Danny if she wanted to relocate the microwave maybe over here so we can have more space and we realized you've been lying to us this whole time about the outlets I've been wrong for 5 years that's great news yeah there's another Outlet back here that changes everything so we do you want to put the kitchen aid over here then yes so what about the microwave so let's try to put the microwave in there if that fits if it fits yeah if it fits then you have a little baking setup over here yes you could even put some of the FL flowers and stuff if you want you can put it's oh it's right there did we do that the other day yeah that's perfect she have your whole baking setup perfect what is what was this uh gas stove uh gas stove I'm just going to put down here real quick and we have one other thing a drink dispenser that is clearly very used what do you think ha Keep or go um I think we can let that one go for now do you want to give it like a little wipe real quick used it once um well you got booze pandemic to use for people oh maybe I could use it and then let it go let's actually hang on to that and then use that to get rid of it and then once I'm done with that come to Danny's house this weekend she's throwing a massive party free booze everybody and she's selling the rest of her sell pile that's a great idea come drink my whiskey get a free Coach bag you're literally getting paid to consume my consumables have a hole yeah it does have a hole o okay look at that oh that looks great because these are too big to fit up here but we like giving Dany more space behind us so that she can you have her cute little baking area she said let's go ahead and just put all the chips and the use it or lose it I think a lot of these were donations from a friend so we shall just move them over there okay oh look it fits perfectly and nice and but we do have to figure out the dick sponge put it right there right on top of the microwave like right there in the center beautiful Decor okay oh okay this is going to work very well Danny y so it's a little bit of a mountain but as you use it up the mountain will get smaller but that works and then most importantly the mic waves here and you have a huge counter space I love the way this looks this is way better it looks calm and coordinated should we scoot this down a little bit yes wait okay there we go once we got focus on clearing off this section now process it where everything sort it where it goes okay oh I oh SP did I find a candle candle Department laying up some things for Dan I already like where this is going yeah this is looking great okay I as much as it's for Comic Rel I actually hate it there so I'm just going to okay we have everything I kind of sorted things staged it for Danny to go through okay throwing that away I need to plant those away I don't need that okay how are we doing with the pile doing good oh what's this oh this is has been buried under here for a while found a box from what year technically I think it's from 202 what do you want to do with it now I think I can let that go okay unless do I need a pretty box with a magnet closure and my name on it unless you want to use it for accessories you can use it for some jewelry or sunglasses or something I like that I like that actually better than the wire basket that it's all in right now okay so we'll just put this the side hang okay we'll keep it for now but I will um can I let go of the stuff inside the stuffing okay all right these are the last things keeping you from your beautiful baking station baking station is this a good uh water bottle it is keeping okay is this keep for the over there okay faes yeah this one keep keep keep keep but we don't have a location yet for these so that would be the tricky part okay we we'll get to those those out I often kind of put them on yeah we can stage them out stage them out okay this one keep okay this one is actually one of those drink dispenser containers so there's a lid for it floating around over there somewhere okay and then you just brought me this yes this can go let's just set them to the side maybe in front of the refrigerator now so we can stage the baking section and then you know the small space Shuffle I like that I never really considered putting all the baking stuff over on this side it just I don't know the induction range was over there so it just made sense to well there was no space to put it over here whenever we got here did you ever think like when we started that you would have this space free no okay perfect do you want to take your napkins out of the plastic we have an entire space over here we do just to be clear we got a little bit of chaos going on over here those are just dirty dishes and then this is leaving the house but she just cleaning it up so we'll still work on all of this stuff but this section is something to celebrate yay all right next up Danny is to tackle the red shelf this is going to be fun one and the goal is to make space for all of the Starbucks mugs oh you know what let's just set them over here for now and there's more Starbucks mugs back there is it okay if we take these all out of the boxes today so you can use them or they keepsakes they're more keepsakes than anything okay so we should store them not in your kitchen I think would work we could store them in your your walk-in wardrobe CU you have so much space we have all of the mugs here we have a couple more spread out car work maybe okay so we'll save a little extra room for those but we have them cleared off from here and now I think we just go directly to the red C it cool so much glass should we process those into other places and then come back the mugs my goal is to put your Starbucks mugs in here because I don't what other places do we have that has medicine up high now down low we need to put pots and pans and things like that we haven't got to eventually you could like once all the alcohol gets gone you could put the Starbuck mugs in there but I was hoping just to I don't know until we get in there I don't know how much you're going to keep but my goal was to see if you end up letting go of a lot we could store your mugs in here cuz it would only take maybe one shelf so I feel like we could maybe make that work for you but we just don't we don't know till we try take it out and see what you want to keep all right we're going to use a coffee table to process I can already tell you that I can see that I'm going to perge the most from the second shop okay so would it be better to start there so that we more space really or does that matter I don't think it really matters we can take it down all at the same time if we want why don't I will keep putting this out and you can start sorting through it and see what you want to keep okay okay we have a lot of the glass we out but we don't have any more table space so we left the really breakable like stemware in here and then we'll wait to get the other stuff out soon teapot can go teapot can go okay I've used it since I moved in are there any of these mugs that you want towards the back are there anyone that like you're using more frequently right now that I can I don't think it really matters brighter colors cuz it's summertime in the front okay perfect I don't get this album a this was from Lily are we going to be able to fit these I don't know I don't know possibly I think we just might yeah I think we will how many things with my name on it do I need the answer is all of them because growing up as a child named Danny you never found anything with your name on it oh really M there's always Danielle and that's I don't I think I might have had a similar problem not many a around really okay we got them to fit yay seeing them all in one place and not across the top of two different things yes it's nice and now though they won't get Dusty that's also I mean slightly dusty but not a lot not not as substantially Dusty as the rest of my house I like it cuz it's a good reminder of like this is how many I have so whenever you're tempted to buy more you can remember the Shelf yeah I actually cannot fit one more there it's built in accountability for you that's why I'm not going to let you squirrel them away cuz you'll forget I will squirrel I will forget okay camping stuff we have a stove behind you do you want to put those together oh yeah I'll put those together okay we'll find a a home for those oh you could put your poptart poers even over here by the baking I like that yeah I'm really getting into this for you you are and I'm oh it's so cute oh into it I just added Danny's the cutest Pop-Tart coasters here for her but those are so cute can you put that into the bigue bag what are we going to do on our last day of decluttering it's coming up soon like your house will be done there will be no more for us to I don't know de cut it unless it's your car the bet is still on and the shoe is yet to be found I'm gonna try and find it also I tried to be oh go haven't we all tried to be that I've tried to be that girl and I I can't I can't so we can put that in there you to boil it right it's just a really big process um can we put that in the recycling pile my other right here right in front of my face Halloween Moscow those are cute but do you want to put those with the Halloween decorations that's probably a good idea so I'll put it outside whenever we get back to that we got to get in there again those take up a lot of space so I'm so torn cuz this is like my favorite soup bowl cuz it's the perfect like depth of soup but it doesn't not oh but that's okay if you like it these they're like that's hard to put a good amount of soup in there it's a good seral it's lacking the dep if you like using it and you know you'll use it definitely keep it yeah all the other curl things are going except for that for that one I I think that's totally fine Ricky can you go outside please look at the toy collection Ricky has brought us two crusty toys and a third crusty toy thank you Ricky I've been dying to get down there this is a beer butt chicken cooker okay we put it over here on Ricky there's my I was looking for my pyx cake pan lid oh no you still have it right the PIR I do I do I do no that'll take up way more take up we can just Rec that let it go so dusty whoa what's that shelf that I bought at Ikea to like put underneath here but all of the cabinets are too skinny we don't really need it you can donate it why don't we hold on to it just to the very end cuz we might be able to get creative what about here and then we could have like a tuck in for treaton you can try it yeah that could work I love repurposing finds from the declutter and you already own it yeah okay so we would oh yeah cuz look Danny look oh that worked out real well this is fabulous we can actually put more stuff in there oh yeah oh and look and a little bit they're so cute it works that's so fun that's perfect and you were going to let it go I was ready to let it go you don't have to keep it obviously if you don't want to but you it works right for now work yay yeah okay a fun little find I'm glad we found that look at that fabulous find yay fabulous and it just makes you want to eat all your great snacks like so you don't have to pull this out it's all organized it's perfect you can grab stuff and as you use it you can like prioritize right now we're just making it fit yeah but you can like have all the granola bars which are under here under the banana I love it that's or sometime you could put like your chips in there once the girl SC cookies are done but it just gives you more space while you're making the coffee why don't I pull out the Keepsake Starbucks mugs and I will move them to the walk-in closet room yeah we can get through the drink cart today too we're going to do our best to finish the kitchen today but you see do you know which ones you want to keep and I can start putting some of this stuff away this one keep keep do you want this with the Halloween storage as well no no should we start with the glass Bear yeah infee that'll work out better coffee mugs are a bit more like there a fifth one somewhere no just four just four okay there should be a fourth one of that set but okay well it might it might show up that's all so the other bar glasses are good I could put those that's a lot of a lot of glass for for you so that could work we're going to put these in the go away pile these are sentimental cups and walk Ricky and get your butt to work it's 1:5 p.m. water bottles things like that could be good like coffee other coffee mugs to go coffee tumblers might be good on the bottom okay excuse me R back up also we have the big beer mugs and things like that that are getting cleaned now so those would also be really good on the bottom if we save space for those those could also go on the bottom bottom I'd like to put everything in here for you oh okay cuz I feel like that's just going to get really dirty dirty and then it gets forgotten like the other stuff so if that's the case pull that out of there pizza stone pizza stone and I'll just move this for now that would work yeah that works up high you can see it yes and right by the oven where you would use it also true I love organization okay I'm learning to love organization this one's keeper absolutely okay do you want to put it on the bottom coffee mugs can go on the bottom water bottles and we can save some space Maybe in the very back for the beer mugs do you use the beer mugs more often or the coffee mugs like the big October Fest times yeah I mostly use them as bases okay this one is a keeper yeah that's the top part for why don't we try and store this over not with the glass wear we'll try and find find home okay that goes with another set and that was so cute but I don't ever use it it's a whale that is cute but are you going to use it do you ever just drink straight espresso no where can I put it as decoration I'm going to hold on to that I'm not going to get rid of it yet but I'm going think about it then let's put it on that shelf right there up front and center what about um the little tea like kimchi pots I yeah I can do that mhm oh yeah perfect water bottle keeping yes for not being a drinker you sure have a lot of chot glasses most of are just like little collectible why are shot glasses always souvenir I've been in homes that have an entire cabinet full of shot glasses they never use them but they're just there like it's such a a trick here buy this shot glass it's an easy one to fall for all right okay is that all Danny I believe so okay we have thinned down I got all of the glasswar to fit Danny didn't think it was possible but we made some space serious space cuz all that is empty up there the top of the fridge is completely empty that's that's really exciting I love that this is the declutter pile part of it and then we also have a declutter pile here and we have a sad Ricky let me go ahead and SHP down here for you you take a quick little breather we'll relocate this stuff and then we'll move on okay do you like your spot Lucy she doesn't like the microphone she's oh she's staring it down hard yeah she's staring at the mic okay let's relocate our declutter po oh and what about the Koozies cozies and shell Frack this could be usable when we get in there I was thinking about that for down there for stuff let me give you those real quick LPG can get checked while you're doing that I'm going to relocate the use it or lose it Ricky out of the kitchen you are very cute but most I'm going to try to get back to her drinking cart did you put these shot glasses over here yeah I thought about it and then I decided to keep it set cuz then if people are going to come over and drink I should probably have something for them to drink from do your friends drink shot I guess they do shots okay maybe well it's good to get things out all at once right now get it gone I was also thinking how do I get people to drink things oh let's put this in the we might put it by the bookshelf bookshelf right I think we should just look at the beverage rack and again see if we can make some space if anything we can tuck away all the beverage into the corner get it off the ledge for you okay a little nervous to pull this out though this is the beverage cart for the parties that never happened the parties that never were is there any of this Danny that it would just be more helpful to kind of dump down the drain even though I know it's waste it's wasteful I'm just thinking of like this is taking up your valuable space you're not going to drink it it's very dusty those are the zero ones I don't like okay so this is something that we can let go of yeah yeah that doesn't look good at all um what about these those are also awful I tried them they were terrible okay this is helping us this making some space yes okay these are all good oh I do want to use that maybe for coffee I'm impressed Danny cuz you didn't think I mean look at all that you're like that's going out that's just not usable anymore that's why you always got to check even when you think you know what it is you just have to double check Costco vodka pretty sure this is peppermint schops so then what we'll be able to do is get this stuff off the ledge that we didn't know what to do with the other day we'll be able to store it here that's cinnamon shops I need to clean off the top of the bottle this was the worst apple pie moonshine you likea I actually makea so this is wine yeah that's fairly recent we also have these bottles over here do you want to keep this wine rack or would you rather I mean if you're not going to will you use it or do you want to just store all the wine here I think we could well we have all these these little baby yeah might I think we could fit it all I kind of like the wine rack though okay that's fine oh and here's a giant bottle of tequila back here oh this is vanilla oh and I'm going to start handing you these also so that we could just store on there is that okay yeah that's fine these big bottles probably need to go on the bottom okay that's great so we can fit it all on the cart the ginger is for eating right not for alcohol yeah okay so this is all the alcohol she was able to clear off the tart off of the cart a lot of it isn't alcohol it's actually syrups and mixers and stuff ah but this was moonshine and ooh strong hold this tonight okay we'll just dump it later you want to just leave it here then yeah it's okay oh that's a lot better Danny so one thing that we could do for the camping stuff there's already the Starbucks um cooler here we could put the burner kind of Stack it up like put stack the burners underneath and put the cups behind it or something do that work I like that you even put the cups inside the Starbucks they won't get crusty I like that too okay okay so we're going to kind of store the camping stuff back here with the cooler it's a little camping Department cuz I think after I finish that Sugar I also want to get rid of that container oh there's two more Starbucks these are keepsakes right yes okay these are the ones I'm supposed to send to my sister camping in camping in the camping okay and you still have one Outlet handy back here so that will work and I love that it's just out of sight you don't really have to see it from over here okay this looks good all the camping kitchen is over there we have a very much smaller beverage cart we're kind of making our way I guess all around the kitchen where where would you like these do you like it visible or do you want it like tucked I was part of me was thinking about tucking it back there but at the same time that cord is so abundantly visible I was kind of thinking of turning it sideways to just have okay okay there good okay perfect that works for me okay do you want me to put this behind back back here all right so these are still in use our bags we're still working with those okay this is for I should have put this with the camping wait is this camping or is this party stuff party okay we we're not going to have time to get to all of the stuff under here today so let's just go ahead and wait we might be able to find space before we cut it out for like a temporary stopping point I'm going to put some of the Ziplocs and stuff in this bag and then that way it's out of your hair this weekend and then we'll come back to it oh did you need these lids for the mason jars those are for a different brand of Jar uh okay so maybe we don't need I don't know ah an nepresso P list oh and you have some element those are expensive okay and we have a really nice basket to use later I love it before we wrap up because I know you have to go to work Danny do you think we could just go through the cleaning rack really quickly so that we can try and put it back rather than just have it out in the middle of the living room so this is one of the last things we'll go through for now yeah it's not the strongest of okay Parts yeah but it tucks into things quite easily okay so let's just give it a little look around and see if there's anything we can let go of just like the bar cart okay I can already see a couple things that I'm going to take out to the laundry room there you go that there a lot of space air oh floor cleaner I can tell you don't use a lot of these all the time cuz they're very dusty down here yeah are there some that you just want to like do away with cuz if we could squeeze these in here then it doesn't have to tuck out where like it's always visible it could not to be visible from your living room like now whenever you sit there you have to see all the handles and the cleaning supplies so true if we could just tuck it away for you somewhere okay that would be great let me just pull these out and then let's just we'll have a better look at them and those are all the same just multiple bottles of the same thing and some soap and oh that's definitely tape and that doesn't look good [Laughter] ew lay these you're not going to use the most right these are storage for next year so maybe we'll put these on the bottom can you pour what's left of this into this cuz it's the same thing and then we can be down a bottle will we ever really get rid of Ricky's mess no cuz she sheds everywhere actually can we put these in the bathroom yeah I'm not sure that I can effectively fit everything but I'm going to find different homes for like the fabreze and stuff cuz that can just get well you could also put the main cleaner a pie oh yeah so if that's like the main those are the main use ones right yeah and then everything else could fit tuck away in there I think now that we've done that I think we can do that okay cool let's see if it will work pull up that just a bit okay perfect now look it just looks like one piece of furniture from over there oh it looks really good like perfectly that's awesome so this is all donation donation recycling Recycling and then recycling we didn't get through everything today not quite not quite it took a little longer than we thought but this means for working down here yes we only have like down here to the drawers and then here I think with like the right organizational skills that you have we're going to get it to fit I think we're going to get everything to fit I'm confident that we can and then my goal is also to help kind of like clean up the countertop a little bit for you so it's also that gives you that same calm feeling as everything over here is starting to do but this is a success I am so excited having all of your mugs right here I feel like it's contained really well so you won't want to expand out of this no I never thought that all of my Starbucks bugs would make it to the second shelf this is my favorite thing that we did today we it completely by chance yeah not only is it like tidy and organ it still has like that kind of Danny Vibe it's not like overly minimalist it's I think you're somewhere between you're closer to like the maximalist It doesn't bug you as much but we're moving more from like unorganized maximalist to organized maximalist I'm I'm okay with that I'm so excited we will be back for another day of kitchen and then I got to show them really quickly um and Danny's going to come back after work and work on dumping this out out we just didn't have time today this is all stuff with a purpose and tucked away to the side is our small collection of organizers that we might use later but we're coming back I've never gotten in here to show you guys we'll be back for this and then we'll be back for all these things that you've seen and we'll be back for this and for the stuff that's accumulated here we come back over here and we will finally
