okay so what's going on here is placement of power poles and this is a power pole and if you notice the power pole has two sides to it here one is for 110 the others for low-voltage and you don't put the low voltage or the the 110 together you put them separately now in this situation we're just going to string out the cable on the floor and the reason why we're gonna do that is because the cubicle guys didn't do their cubes in time and this place opens up in two days so you got to have voice and data networks running and up and going and so that means that this cable is going to run across the floor and I'm going to show it to you here shortly now it's done but on the cable side if you see there's a little power cord there that's the power that's going to eventually go into the cubes and what's happening here is we're pulling the computer cable down the pole you want to pull that down for you as you're beating it it's always nice to have two people when you're pulling cable there's a lot quicker - I've done this for so many years it's actually fun you get to the point to where day goes quick you go out a good exercise is that it okay so we're gonna string that out to the very end of these tables really nice tables by the way they're ones that go up and down if you push the button it goes up but we still don't have the walls of the cubes but this is the best you can do for today and they're moving in and a day or two so it has to be done it has to be taken care of just gonna stretch them out and Jack them with surface surface biscuits you guys call them biscuits peaceful biscuits let's go over here where they've already done it here's the surface-mount box it has two jacks each in it notice that they're not labeled and there's no writing on the cable because you're gonna identify it later once the once everything is done identify at first then you can test it make sure it's verified and you 100% test you don't 100% test you're gonna miss things so you want to to 100% it's kind of busy here they're trying to rush around to get these people install but these are called surface mount boxes they have little stickies on the bottom if you want to stick them to something and you can get them in different sizes and get single boxes dual box you know a two-port one you get them all the way up to six or eight ports sometimes if you need it sometimes it takes the place of a patch panel if you're only pulling you know four or five cables and you just put in a surface mount box that that you know only requires only has that many ports just regular jacks they snap in there like they do in a wall plate that's really a great idea from years ago when they first came out with Keystone jacks and Keystone jacks described the jack design and it's Universal anyone who says they have a keystone jack it should be universal then the other thing like about it is the matching velcro I'm sorry can't call it velcro it's hook-and-loop there's legal reason you can call it velcro if it's velcro you can call it that but most people use just a regular standard hook and loop tie wraps and it's nice it's not on there tight so it's not going to form the cable you don't want it to form the cable that's why I reps if you're gonna use tie wraps you've got to be very careful not to deform the cable so that's rat [Music] you might as our videotape you punch in this jack down hey what's that no okay thanks for asking how long you been cabling three years now you can do that easily on this carpet because this carpet doesn't have much of a push to it yeah but I have a heck of a time when they they come up with you know the plush depending on the jack sometimes they have certain holder that pops in carpet like this is no longer yeah this is not very plush at all maybe an eighth inch yeah or even less than that just feels like you're right on top of some so how'd you learn low voltage trial in their years I haven't gone on to a company yet but you know so you subcontract with different companies as though it is outsourcing so it's like a when I look for the contractor needs a extra hand the outsourced don't have enough guys you know you know I know people are gonna be watching this video to see how you do this [Music] yeah with cables supply.com so we have 270 videos yeah surface mount box who also affectionately call the biscuit we used to comb biscuits so that's not a bad deal doing subcontracting for other companies huh works for you you know one of the things I like what you're doing is you got professional tools and you got on your belt here a tool that tool belt which really saves time it's a shame they don't have the dividers in here I heard that they can't right now because the vendor is a little bit behind and and they're due to open in two days am i right next Tuesday is though is I think I'm gonna hang here until you populate one of these biscuits so how long did you say you've been doing this you use three years you'll like it good way to keep your mind going yeah I always enjoyed it when I did it I've been doing a lot longer than three years but always enjoyed it and the day went quick and you got a lot of exercise [Music] and they just sand that together huh yeah yep it's great well thank you for time [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] kind of nice this is one of the power poles that's going in the trash it's made out of plastic has a divider in there but a divider is not there right now and it separates the the high-voltage it's not really high voltage 110 from the low voltage but it's nice you can just cut it with with any type of saw will cut it so it makes it nice all right so when you're going to test from the patch panel is that later today tomorrow so you think you're gonna test and label tomorrow maybe see if I can come back see the tests and the labeling and all you
