[Music] you [Music] here we are math side Florentine Gardens in El Monte California teaching to Santa's along with the killaby Ben Saunders and Kelvin Gastelum we've already seen two matches tonight it all leads up to our pay-per-view top of the hour inch by inch TV and UFC TV two tournaments are headed your way the lightweight division and bantamweight division gets cjj champions here tonight like I who's on a mission for gold in the UFC middleweight division is Kelvin Gastelum Kelvin when you look at the history that is going to be made here tonight the first of any you know quest is always remembered hoist Gracie you'll remember 24 years ago today we became a legend someone's gonna try to become a legend tonight in combat jujitsu that's right everybody remembers the first UFC 24 years ago today - the exact day tonight we're making history once again with cjj and we're gonna see who comes out on top it's gonna be an exciting night one thing that is really exciting about combat jujitsu is the fact that you have young grapplers that are thinking about getting into mixed martial arts or have some amateur experience they're going against fighters that have long records in MMA been when we look at a guy like Barrett Yashida you see it got like 40-plus fights in mixed martial arts he could be going against someone that has never fought before in MMA you got to believe that that's a big advantage for Bayer Yoshida oh he definitely has the advantage there just the experience of being able to perform jiu-jitsu while getting punched in the face it's a whole different ballgame and once again you need to either be close in where you're not getting struck or further far enough away that they can't hit you you mentioned getting struck that is what it's all about right this isn't your typical jiu-jitsu tournament palm strikes that's what these fighters need to worry about tonight when the fight hits the floor when one opponent is grounded they are able to be hit now when you are able to strike your opponent Calvin it opens up a lot of things car passes in submissions absolutely I mean it opens up everything I mean if you're mounted you're getting slapped I mean you're gonna want to get out of that position and it's gonna open up transitions and open up submissions for for your opponent you know when you think about palm strike some people don't all well they're just slaps tell that to bas Rutten right then he made a career out of that Pancrase guy and he actually if anybody wants to look it up and you can go on YouTube and see exactly how he does it if any of these guys bring that kind of power into combat Jiu Jitsu we are going to see some details yeah we will see if we get any of that here tonight already some of the palm strikes have taken place almost on the feet again when three points of a fighter are on the floor palm strikes are able to be thrown and we saw that in our last matchup we will see if we will get a TKO here tonight you know we want to see champions these guys want to become the first-ever combat jiu-jitsu champion you know they would love to be the first person to TKO somebody in combat jiu-jitsu oh yeah I think everybody Cano wants to see it deep in their heart they want to see people getting knocked out - in mixed martial arts there's the stand-up rule in combat Jiu Jitsu there's the get-down rule of course the action it only intensifies when the fight hits the floor so at any point when any of our grappler tonight spend two minutes are more on the beat they will be forced to go to the floor and again that opens up everything to get down rule the referee will call a halt to the action a coin will be flipped and then the winner of that coin toss will be given the opportunity to go on offense on top or bottom now you got a belief been that winning that coin toss you want to be in the position that best suits you and that coin toss is very pivotal for these grappler for sure if the coin toss is key but there are some amazing teachers and practitioners off their back but so much heat from back that they might actually choose to go there because where you start can be a dominant position if you know how to use it that's a really good point I mean we talked about 24 years ago today boys Gracie show that you could win fights off your back the closed guard position that's one thing that can be implemented here tonight if you're on top and you're getting comfortable throwing those strikes there are a lot of opportunities for the bottom fighter Kelvin to frame up triangles to do arm bars you're not out of danger when you're in the closed guard you're definitely not out of danger when you're when you're in the closed guard I mean the guy on top can definitely stay there chill there and drop bombs drop slaps drop palm strikes on you so you can't just chill there from the bottom and the action intensifies but for the bottom person for the top person this is where takács really come into play and I think a lot of these fighters bet are gonna have to pay attention to who they're competing against and figure out like you said if we have a get down rule do I want to be on top or bottom yeah there is definitely going to be strategy and knowing who you're going against knowing their strengths and weaknesses if possible and if you can implement your game correctly against theirs essentially all right up next you have to worry about the open guard position of course a lot of times you'd be fighting somebody and they close their guard up when you start throwing strikes the guard becomes open now it is dangerous for both fighters if you're on top your opponent's guard is open you can look for that pass but also when a fighter opens their guard that sometimes means they're going for submissions right I mean when people are throwing their legs when they're opening putting the their feet on the hips that's when they're looking to be on the offense open guard and a variety of facets you can have a butterfly guard you have a rubber guard you know quite a bit about the rubber guard again the whole point of jiu-jitsu and combat Jiu Jitsu is to get more data to improve technique and when the fight hits the floor were folks a lot about on strikes but strike to open up submissions strikes open up submissions and also at the end of the day I mean a lot of people take jujitsu for self-defense so we're learning key key fundamentals of what can and cannot work on what moves you might want to employ in your in your self-defense we see a lot of technique in action here at combat jujitsu and really we're going to see a lot of other techniques as well and you know one thing we saw earlier tonight the mount it has always been a dominant position in mixed martial arts and combat jujitsu it intensifies you can almost say Kelvin at the mountain regular Jiu Jitsu tournaments it's a position of dominance but with strikes it's a position of danger it's a position of extreme danger of your being mounted and you get and slap I mean that's a bad bad position even mmm-ma and also especially in combat you Jitsu and man I mean those those palm strikes are what opens up every you know submission transition so I'm excited to see all these competitors compete tonight again two tournaments headed your way tonight top of the hour the first ever combat jujitsu worlds we will crown a lightweight in Bantam weight championship top of the hour inch by inch TV and of course UFC TV everybody wants it in TJ to sailors the killaby Ben Saunders Kelvin Gastelum Kelvin one thing that is really exciting is the tournament the tournament is the story you will learn so much about the fighters so much about yourself if you're one of these competitors the tournament you have to be expecting the unexpected and really a fighter can go from you know a middle of the road when it comes to like well-known type of person when you win a tournament you become a superstar absolutely I mean I love the fact that they're doing the tournament format it takes me back to the old UFC days so it gives it that old-school feeling as well and like you said I mean these guys are coming in hot and they're coming in ready yeah and we're gonna see it play out I mean talk about the endurance factor of this tournament Ben because when you look at what these fighters have to go through it's one thing to just wrap all three separate times it's another thing to grapple and get hit in the head big time it's it's a completely different kind of endurance and the biggest thing is how do you keep your heart rate either controlled or low wall getting struck in the face whether you're on top of the bottom if you're getting Chuck in the face you're in the body or in the legs which we've even seen can you maintain your heart rate correctly so you can endure potentially many rounds there's some pressure on some fighters you got to think that Tyson Griffin having that UFC shine he might be a favorite in the lightweight bracket and let's take a look at the lightweight bracket coming your way because this is a field of killers vogner OSHA a finalist in the EBI he wants to be a finalist here tonight there are names lotta killers in that a lot of killers in that bracket I mean you got a half back no-show hopital me host Tyson Griffin maybe an orchard I mean these guys are come in to bring it I'm excited we're just five minutes away from our tournament kick-off h by inch of dot TV but again the lightweight tournament not the only tournament to worry about the Bantam weights will take center stage once again Nick Hahn Steen he's the reigning defending EBI cjj champion tonight he wants to be a cjj world champion and you know that means a lot to the Nebraska native yeah it definitely means a lot you saw him get super emotional when he won his of combat jujitsu debut and and won his division now he gets to try to maintain it against all these savages that they they got linked up man I mean Jim Holland Nick paste Barret Yashida he's got a lot of people that he's gonna have to go through this can be super interesting how this plays out let's not forget former WEC veteran former EBI cjj finalist Chad the savage George Kelvin you know Chad George wants to be just like his nickname he wants to be a savage that's right I mean he's coming off that he had last he was a finalist in the last CBI cjj against Nick consti and like we said he wants to he wants to reach he wants Redemption you know and he wants to win he wants to win this belt tonight you know a lot of is a lot is made about strikes in jiu-jitsu and how maybe it's prop lling and maybe not a fight this is a fight if you watch our two preliminaries already you know this is a fight a standing for Koko's and Elias Anderson yeah this is a fight when you are fighting potentially three times you're two different mindset this isn't just a grappling tournament this is the fight oh it definitely is a fight and as we also saw man you're gonna see moments that did you keep your hands up to block yourself I mean every time you go for a leg every time you're just trying to get in on a leg from your guard you getting slapped in the face everything's gonna change on that and and I like like we've been saying man the evolution of the game is gonna kind of be showcased for everybody tonight we've made a lot about the strikes but of course submissions are still the emphasis here at cjj worlds if you get a submission or a stoppage in regulation you're gonna Bank $5,000 for yourself free to win the tournament a potential $15,000 prize one thing that has been a standout the submission only rule format has been the leg game we'll see the leg game here tonight we've already seen it a little bit earlier but the leg game just changed quite a bit Calvin when he can be struck in the face absolutely I mean I'm gonna take a Mike Tyson reference he said you know everybody has a plan until they get hit you know and the same thing here I mean if you're on the bottom position trying to go for a leg lock or ankle lock I mean you're in a bad position potentially to get strike we are just two minutes away from the inaugural cjj world tournament we will crown a bantamweight and lightweight champion now again going back to UFC one we talked about it earlier we've seen the sport and we've seen martial arts change so much in the last 25 years we're going to start to see these fighters develop strategy and tactics what would be your strategy headed into an overtime format where there's only one overtime in the beginning of the the quarterfinals if you were headed to overtime then what would your strategy be wouldn't be to go for the submission or would you want to try to go for it after maybe riding out some time a little bit man that's a good one it would depend I guess whether or not I went first and how angry I was because I could easily see myself being pissed off and saying I'm going to just get as many strikes as I can whether I win or not I'm gonna make you believe before this is done but if you're looking for the win man I would probably take the back try to control as much as possible and prefer TKO a finish only tournament finish only jiu-jitsu that is headed your way top of the hour see JJ world's Kelvin I can't implore these people to buy the pay-per-view enough we're gonna witness history here tonight yes I mean everybody remembers host Gracie 24 years ago tonight tonight there's gonna be a winner and they're gonna remember him for a long time as well so I implore you guys or to the bay purview inch by inch TV inch by inch ITV UFC TV eight light weights eight phantom weights they want to carve a spot out for jujitsu takes center stage we're inside Florentine Gardens in beautiful Almonte California for the first ever combat jujitsu worlds [Music] allow me to take you back to November 12 1993 it was 24 years ago to the day Laurie and Gracie's brainchild the Ultimate Fighting Championship launched really sparking a mixed martial arts and martial arts revolution it was a vehicle to promote gracie jiu-jitsu tonight the movement starts all over again this time it is the brainchild of Eddie Bravo and master Vick table combat jujitsu it could be the next evolution of the ground hey everybody I'm teaching to say this welcome to see JJ world's tonight two tournaments are headed your way with titles and cash on the line Bantam weights will take center stage as reigning and defending EBI combat jiu-jitsu champion Nick Han Steen looks to return to the place it all started last March he won the first-ever EBI cjj tournament and he did so with his jujitsu technique fighting out of Nebraska he was able to show off that jujitsu technique but complemented with strikes he was able to finish a field of fantastic standouts some of which we'll see later tonight but he did so in the ultimate way winning via twister he looks to replicate that success tonight if he does he will be the first ever combat jujitsu world champion I'm flanked by some heavy hitters here tonight to my left it is the killaby Ben Saunders been the first ever see JJ world's is finally upon us and it's a big night big night in particular for Jam Holland yeah Jam Holland is back he's a he's a wizard on the ground don't be surprised to see him pull guard he feels that he has improved his game since strikes employing the strikes of his jujitsu from the last time he competed but still do not do not be confused with him going inverted or going for leg locks even if he is gonna get struck he has definitely worked on that and his rubber guard is super high not Jam Holland would look for some Redemption here tonight as he looks to become the first-ever cjj bantamweight champion to my right it is a UFC veteran the middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum it's been a big week for you sir but it's also a big night and big week for chat George who was also in that EBI cjj tournament unfortunately he was injured tonight he looks to make good right one of the guys that I'm looking forward to the most tonight is is Chad George you know he's a WC veteran and so you know he's got a lot of high-level experience training and competing in mixed martial arts and you know he was a finalist in the last cjj against Nick Constantine had a rib injury during the match so he lost that match but tonight he's coming back fresh she's coming back healthy and I'm excited to see him put on the show the savage Chad George is here with a point to prove that's not only the action in the bantamweight division coming your way we have a lightweight tournament headed your way as well a potential $15,000 on the line I say potential because you have to finish your opponents within regulation tonight it's not only about the submission it's about the stoppage whether it be by way of joint lock or choke or strikes we will find out what happens the first-ever cjj worlds starts right now [Applause] combat jujitsu world's is a finished only jiu-jitsu tournament where all submissions are legal no points no advantages no judges open palm strikes are allowed once any combatant is grounded palm strikes to the body head and face will all be legal however strikes to the back of the head and groin are not permitted if the actual remains on the feet for over two minutes a horn will sound a referee will then flip a coin and a get down rule will be implemented the winner of the coin toss will choose either top or bottom position and butterfly sit up guard with double underhooks tonight's matches consist of 1 10 minute rounds have no finish after 10 minutes occurs then we'll head to 1gb I overtime round with a three minute time limit in overtime palm strikes are allowed like to thank proud sponsors of our combat jujitsu worlds new aza apparel Barn Anna the super banana snack dots isara pen cure for victory see watching around the world on pay-per-view on inch by inch TV and UFC TV and here all of you in our audience tonight it's time for the birth of combat two kids two worlds all about tonight our section by camo the California amateur mixed martial arts organization led by President JT steel our event supervisor in attendance crisp rail a referee's in charge Mike Beltran and Jonathan Romero in our met side position dr. Vega introducing first to the mat representing Lincoln Brazilian Jujitsu quick Nick I stay and his opponent representing Tiger showman's MMA Nick pretty boy it has been a long time coming combat jujitsu world's one takes center stage it is raining and defending EBI cjj champion Nick Han Steen looking to capture cjj gold tonight when he takes on Nick pace on scene in the black pace in the red rash guard we are underway for Han Steen was able to capture a cjj title when he did it in this very building winning a four-man tournament with a twister tonight it is seven other competitors will have to go through winning three fights should he find himself the cjj world champion now we see a tie-up here again no strikes allowed on the feet we must hit the floor at least more than one point of any fighter needs to be on the floor for Nick constant he had an MMA career Kelvin it didn't work out the way that he exactly wanted it to he gave up on that dream and now has a dream that's going pretty well in cjj very well done well he has the experience of MMA so that should be an advantage coming in tonight Nick pace also has had some MMA experience not as much as Hans team but he does have a pro record of 8 in 3 you know Ben what you've seen thus far tonight how much different is this from mixed martial arts when when the match hits the floor it's not too much different man I mean I would say the biggest thing is not being able to kick the legs when they're basically in the guard form on the ground is the only thing that I see pretty much different otherwise for a takedown but his head wrapped up by pace but able to pass the guard wisely is the EBI cjj champion beautiful beautiful double leg takedown by the champion now pace in the half guard here as a half guard on nick lahnstein constants nickname quick you'd like to get it done quick here tonight and save some energy for round number two Nick quick Hunstanton Ponce team was able to employ a variety of techniques he got that twister but set up a lot of stuff by strikes you see one strike there see if he tries to punish pace here you were talking earlier Nick pace out a teen Tigers Holmen that that's generally karate school you look at their MMA fighters a lot of them stand up guys Nick pace kind of bucking that trend here tonight at cjj right right that's right I remember taglish Ole Miss because you're a Hall who I find the finals of the Ultimate Fighter he was from the Tigers Shulman's Oh beautiful I was right there by pace from the floor and they're generally a striking school not a jujitsu squad interesting pace peppering the body left hands here yeah Nick pace actually has a choke kind of named after him the pace choke yeah he kind of goes to what looks like a mission control but it's more like AG uh the gun show version of Mission Control and he gets kind of a a forearm in triangle that he's finished people with so well it'll be interesting if he can pull that off or attempt to pull that off tonight looking at pace here on the floor Kelvin he's got that left over he bailed on it there now he's eating some punishment I think that's why you had that over working to make sure he wasn't even any right hands from Constans now hey you sit there in half car that's gonna happen if you chill there that's gonna happen yeah half car it's gonna be a great great top player game to rain down strikes for sure looks like pace is trying to get a suite maybe induces scramble lahnsteins been here before as I mentioned in this exact building very comfortable in this type of format he tried the neck crank here then no I well right now he's kind of controlling and making sure he doesn't get swell sweat we put a foot foot pegs grabbing the left leg there but now eating some strikes not hard shots but see if it makes it move yeah he is I mean he's playing there we go [Music] now going to the body very hard I finished the fight one time like that definitely break a rib especially those floating lowered ribs nice little scramble here pace maybe you know trying to get on top unable to do so thus far you know hon Steen himself in a reverse mount position now he's got to watch his legs here gives it up to maintain top four and a half minutes into this endurance round if we go to overtime it will be one overtime here in our quarterfinal matchups we will have the three maximum allowed in the semifinals and finals look at Han Steen using that forearm reducing experience will come through very comfortable here in this position raining down strikes looking for other positions and transitions he's doing a great job well out there but he was trying when he was in half guard here to kind of control that on the striking arm almost like a dummy m.i.a approach where he would be able to dive under if he used his left arm the strike head now he's just smashed yeah the pressure here from Han Steen this is really you know his strategy we've seen that thus far in his EBI cjj matchups and again here tonight in our quarterfinals very comfortable being on top he wants to control that top position land strikes and go for submissions when they present themselves yeah I mean this is this looks exactly just like an MMA fight you know this yeah Mme approach right here that he's he's taking like what haunts he's doing there with the left leg he was trying to pass but now pace able to get back to full guard look like he was going for something better yeah yeah you went huh again on scene back in on the body strikes whoa boss a poodle yeah open guard here another high guard here right hand back hand by the team Tiger Schulman product begin teacher DeSantis Kelvin Gastelum Ben Saunders mat side Florentine Gardens almani California the first ever see JJ woods and now we see some rubber guard implemented here yeah he's got that on there q what's open here now omoplata maybe yeah there is a new mulatto you can also go for the arm now he's going for the leg Nick pace trying to make something happen Oh get on that leg nice use the striker look at Hansen controlling the head there and pace trying to get free how are you - left hand these guys are throwing a war with the strikes you're now pacing on a leg three minutes left with these guys at work here now haunting in on the left legged pace does he have the control pelvin of that left leg pace to actually torque it to where he could get a finish because he didn't have much on now try to go with that other eight no I'll paste trying to go out the back door yeah really taking his time trying to make sure that he looked shuts down the office attack year of constant phase being we wanted to try to get that omoplata it Medusa scramble he got it on the leg up on scene but again Nikki and refusing to let up that top position and now on scene back to side nearly and it showed the leg game in an MMA or combat jujitsu situation it's a now we see spiderweb position here for Hobson takes a leg through Nick pace enjoy his posture try to hold his head baby start climbing on the double bag right there go swimming in he's doing a meat hook nice to meet you tactic if you get more on his right hip credit to Nick's pace he's been on bottom but he hasn't been overwhelmed by stretch he's definitely eaten some strikes but he hasn't been beaten up really in this position ya know he's doing a good job controlling you know for the most part control it constantly there on scene though trying to take advantage of these strikes by trying to pass less than a minute left get your good yeah for their opening match up bantamweight tournament a lot of time UCLA's you switching it [Applause] that is what you get you is all about beautiful beautiful mean these are high-level transitions and jujitsu great Nick yeah good good defense awareness we are 15 seconds away from a very important overtime on steam still trying to force the issue tomorrow I don't even know how you got out of the first one though there we go ten minutes in the books headed to a very important overtime he's one round over time to the quarterfinals it's like a shootout you want to go for that submission but if you lose the position your opponent who goes on defense can really ride out the time in this format with the one overtime I almost think that being on defense first gives you more information to know how you want to plan your attack in overtime I don't think that's necessarily going to be the case later in the tournament but right now almost being on defense Ben I think benefits you in this one over time only quarterfinal round again yeah it definitely could um but it's it's interesting to see the strategies right now are people gonna go for the strikes are they gonna go for the submission you see pace now in the most dominant position he's enjoyed in the fight on the back of hon Steen Nick bass we'll see what kind of gaming has here taking Hans teens back now if you look here pace already lost one hook now it gets it back nice adjustment there do not pace definitely going for it but now if Hassan is able to roll in now into that triangle if you didn't have that arm triangle the overtime period at least the offensive over time period for pace would be done but right now he's trying to wrap it up by submission and it looks tight can he finish from it's announced over there just going to get off to the side no no you can definitely fit he can look want this being upset Nick pace trying to stop the EBI cjj keeping it you know when you got it in and a beautiful and really also to well if he doesn't get the submission he's riding out time here this time is definitely adding up for Nick pace answering the phone now is hot steam mm-hmm if you're if you're Nick haunts teen how do you get out of this Kelvin well I remember being in this position not too long ago but you got to get the arm over there on the other side of the head or be able to get to it now trying to move [Music] [Applause] Boyd's danger now he needs to make sure that he gets either submission or holds on longer than nick pace held on and pace did have a good riding time he did so now what what exactly does constant he need to do to be able to win if he gets a submission he will win if it gets control time greater than pace had he will win if Nick pace is able to escape before time elapses he will be the victor Jen strikes aloud in overtime that is not something that they can't seem had afforded to him and they turn him in he found himself in yeah it's not like they're holding back either I mean they're throwing halt and now honking wisely moves that body triangle maybe not necessarily where the weight goes on his leg to make Nick and just that type but he feels confident last down you put it there now the pace here of pace needs to quit 30 seconds like if he wants to win he needs to get free but also to he's got to get free but he can't open himself up to submissions if he gets stopped then his nine is done keep you yeah he's gonna be very strategic about how he gets out of there [Music] face victorious consi I think honson got a little bit overzealous with the strikes he went to MMA he went to MMA I believe I mean beauty I believe Nick paces victorious I believe so yeah we'll make it official Bruce bus Bruce Buffer will have the time oh my god the EBI cjj champion nick Constans night it's done Wow ladies and gentlemen this is what tournaments are all about anything can happen absolutely what a fight what a match Nick pace largely in bottom position throughout the regulation period he goes on offense and he steals one from Nick on steam on sea walk us through some of this action I think he got a little bit over seven don't latinum out use his strikes but that gave paste the space to be able to turn around and escape the second yeah the second he let go of the 5o controller the one-on-one to try to throw double palm strikes he had no control to stop the mount and he just rolls over and he loses it the difference between Nick pace and the Hanshin going to mount pace had an arm triangle locked in when he went to he allowed himself more time but Nick Arnstein may be a little overzealous with the strikes his night is done Nick pace moves on to the semifinals of our bantamweight tournament that's one of the things about adding strikes is you open up to be able to strike it you give the guy space when you open up you know so that's what happened tonight up next to the bantamweight bracket pin planted Bethlehem's GM Holland meet Enzo Gracie filly black belt side Martin Oreo straight ahead it's Holland versus norio this is cjj worlds [Music] [Music] first up in the back representing tenth planet Bethlehem Jay Oh [Music] representing Hudson Gracie economy sidebar site Oh Minori Oh [Music] not exactly sure what happened there look like Jane Holland maybe forgot his mouthpiece you see there he goes he forgot his mouthpiece strikes are allowed sidebar norio representing team hens Oh Gracie Billy Jim Holland was part of that inaugural bantamweight cjj tournament so far for the veterans of that hasn't been a good night nakhon Stein already out Jim Holland wants to advance further than he did before he ran into a tough chat George we ready at March evening that wasn't it that was a leg kick as a footsweep yeah get excited people Wow that's it's a thin line there it truly it is will see vogner hoshi a little bit later on this evening he's uh he likes to make it a little bit grimy at times I like it I mean it's it's it's combat sport it's not supposed to be comfortable right TJ DeSantis Kelvin Gastelum Ben Saunders inside Florentine Gardens our second matchup here of the bantamweight tournament guys feeling each other out now this is where sniffing from the submission only rules neither man really necessarily wants to go for a takedown where they could end up in bottom you know they the top position a lot more important I think the emphasis here now we see a debate here yeah it's such a thin line to do referee Jonathan Romero in charge of what is legal and what is not re now strikes are legal whoa he he did not waste any time down there by the Enzo Gracie black belt come on babe you gotta make a move Jame Holland really can't seem to figure out how to get him here it's an issue boy yeah hasn't really found his his his his rhythm doing a phenomenal job of really just controlling this range maintaining a solid base so he can't get under our and he really doesn't have to move because combat jujitsu he can just blitz him from here able to get free of that route there from more you know now another left hand he's stolen him straight straight left yeah James for sure so get that clip we saw Holland in every fight package he went inverted a lot he tried to go inverted there but side more having none of it another left hand there he's throwing on like straight yeah and he's pulling it he's retracting it so there's no towner really he's not leaving himself open wrapping up that leg as a wrapped up timer now to the floor yeah he's trying to go in trying to go deep on that other leg to the light game is in play hey let's look for a reversal right away sidebar has of Holland four minutes into regulation here huh Mario trying to get oxygen again landing more of those strikes we could see a TKO by strikes today for effort Gloria thus far in regulation now moving the body beautiful right hand whoa you saw right there Holland you know forced to cover up every time now that memoria even flinches even a Chucky strikes has to pass too I mean he's just getting blitzed yeah chances game as he comes back he's in the far right now on his back not Karen he's trying to make something happen in version just trying to get a different look it's hauling nothing gamesmanship rule about that's right now on come on come on Moorea moving to the body now really trying to smash oh goodness game Harlan trying to make an Oreo play nice now he's on it's got a little bit of blood coming out of their nose oh there will be blood yes indeed keep them down he's gone it's a little kinder this isn't slap fighting ladies and gentlemen this is a straight up brawl by a doctor if I'm about to teach you history this is to have the doctor take a look at it this is a bit concerning for Jam Holland good thing though like mixed martial arts this cut is underneath the eye yeah I shouldn't affect much should inhibit the vision here take a look at a bit one thing all right here's here's some of the action here maybe this is what opened up the cut see what might have neither Czerny blood artist you can see it on as this nut goes nicely now we need to know attention one thing to keep in mind here the the cut stoppage here if this fight continues they should go back to the position they were in when the referee decided to separate the two which was standing at this point yeah they just stood up and then they called them over to get it looked at I got excited about the blood everything you're here to keep me in check back that's what I'm here for I got excited too I mean this is business try to fight in one thing that Jam Holland's got to be thinking about too is if he does advance here's the cut now and sometimes I can play later on importantly JM hauling trying to figure out how much time is left in regulation these guys back on their feet but you got to see the reversal man he was waiting to time and overcommitted strike you'll get the sweep and end up on top and he was able to do it it just took a little longer than he probably thought it also took a little out of him now that he has a cut as well yeah that was a strike memorial immediately put his hands up he knew they did wrong now is there any repercussions for those kind of things so if there is a foul and they go to overtime there is a penalty added to their escape time they 30 seconds added to their escape time which you really don't want that put on you especially in these overtime rounds they're only maximum three minutes absolutely yeah that's you but a warning there by Jason Romero just like an MMA fight one warning next won't be a point now I would assume we have a cut me forward just the doctor just see now that we see a memorial was contending that that was a slap but the referee saying oh he's just trying to get control of your head there really is a fine line and one thing I think it's gonna be hard for these fighters from you know going to the floor were strikes early or legal in the back to the feet you're already in that striking mindset yeah especially some of these MMA fighter besides out there they're just reacting laughing all right now we see double underpass here tented by get that hard go let me safe to say that this guy's yeah bringing the punishment oh yeah you know but again man it's because James going for it and pulling guard and going to his back so at least he I mean okay I'm let the action Wario has fought in the past so he does have MMA experience he's definitely calling up he got to it ah you know he - it is because of him but he's kind of getting me yes the bad end of that he is good it's a Mario I don't know if he's tired he's had a lot of offense of an output here touch over two minutes remain in regulation little reset here back to the center you minute if you're JM Hollen Kelvin what do you do here because playing the game where you're on your back is just it's not a long-term option yeah I mean you need to switch up your game plan switch up your strategy if you want to continue in this tournament and you know maybe she would have thought it shoot it take down get on top and start working your game but he's not looking like he wants to get guard again now target in Anna like mad at the right hand really sells left Holland Moria now better throw some more strikes 90 seconds running a lot of rellis real estate here so you think about a Jackie Chan I mean if this was points Jane would be losing but there right and he's about 90 seconds away from potentially having a dominant position for the first time in the fight he's down in a position but he lost it I think it's interesting how he's pulling guard cuz he's using a different tactic instead of getting full guard with like an over hook he's he's pulling guard and then going what looks like for an inversion to or in Minari role leg locative 60 seconds left here for these men to do work put the mini stopping kickin flag out tell us what you think on Twitter join the conversation at teacher DeSantis at Kelvin Gastelum at Penn Saunders MMA hashtag cjj world's 45 Moorea landings more strikes he disengages see that blood flowing an open-handed operat I think they're by home warrior yeah yeah Holland really trying to work that front leg trying to make something happen go hard again all right and deuces scramble able to get back to his feet so now he's at least out of the danger of strikes dying moments fear of regulation Jam ha found himself a war fought over time Mario now headed to overtime with a lot of damage done flip of the coin lets it drop does JC Romero it is tails we're gonna flip it again I think he's kind of half caught it so redoing the coin flip Jam ones I'm haulin getting the nod here only one round here of overtime Holland consulting his coach Eddie Bravo that's one thing to keep in mind here normally Eddie Bravo and Victor Davila find themself as referees they will not be referees here tonight not tonight the California amateur mixed martial arts organization make sure you like to take the bat that Griffin one overtime period here so you know riding riding time really go a long way in overtime hauling on the body triangle very smart of him to get that up again if you're just to combat Eugene soon I deploy that's been a rule change strikes are allowed in overtime fine nice now we've just seen it actually go that's people when they do it but over time people get out Memorial looks pretty comfortable we saw earlier the prelims a wet it just because it's not underneath the chin doesn't mean it's not dangerous absolutely not you get that forearm right around the chin or the jaw he could break nice fallen now trying to land some stress trying to readjust bread really trust him into a mound but guys able to fight off the instinct because if he went down didn't have a submission yeah yeah loses offensive period here but time ticking away for Jam ride time yeah I saw Mara was doing a good job he's rotated to the triangle side look like he was attempting to push on the knee to create enough pressure on the ankle to pop it open [Applause] [Music] over time curious weeds that by the baby-boom break did a smart move the body child to the other side Mario was the complete control throughout the regulation period but now he's been feeling it being on defense here in this overtime yeah there really needs to be a little bit more of a sense of urgency oh there it is deep baby memorial toughest way through it happen boy hey look this hold up for a couple seconds almost over you're almost a minute over timeline for team huge lose they were fighting about trying to fly them out ten seconds ten seconds well this has been a huge a switch of momentum for JM Hollins three minutes [Applause] to advance to the semifinals is escape battered and bloodied JM Hollen finds himself really in a lot of ways guys in the trenches in the trenches right now all right now we see some tactics here Oh spider with he wants to go and spiderweb not a bad position at all it's gonna get his mouthpiece in hey well coming up now we'll see if strikes are just gonna go immediately into play here got a sit-up so he's got a he's got a weave in his hand there we go the legs [Music] [Applause] on his way semifinal yeah man this guy is game yeah battered bloody and ultimately defeated is JM Holland like I said expect the unexpected we saw so much momentum moved throughout that fight it was all Memorial and regulation at the top of the first overtime it was all JM Holland and then the hens Oh Gracie product surges back and finishes it in the bottom of the first and only overtime to make it official here's Bruce Buffer ladies and gentlemen we have a winner by armbar in overtime [Music] and combat jujitsu side Mar memoria on his way to the semifinal round Minori oh I'm gonna keep my eye on that guy I mean he was he was he was game tonight he summons action then walk us through the finish oh he pushed it that's what he did he pushed the EOP out then he tried to do oh he tried to do the courts to get out but nope unfortunately he was too quick with the tightness of his hips shutting that escape down damn Holland we put a lot of work in overtime looked like he was in control but this approach riyo this is the first spiderweb right with combat chips it is here the first one with her toilet strikes you know side mark memorial making account he moves on in the first ever see JJ world's tournament [Music] more action in the bantamweight division right now this is cjj world's making the move to combat jujitsu is arena MMA's Barrett Yoshida he'll meet mid-city and am a representative Sheridan Moran on deck its Yoshida versus Moran this is combat jujitsu worlds [Music] and now first of the bad for this contest representing arena mmm a bear Yoshi [Music] and his opponent representing [ __ ] city MMA sure [Music] EBI 11 veteran Sheridan Moran takes on Barret Yoshida the 42 year of Yoshida versus the 30 year old Sheridan Moran the accolades for Barret Yoshida honestly too many to list here immediately drops grin trying to take a leg with them yeah Barry Ishida probably one the most experienced guys in this tournament I mean he's got a tons of experience in MMA injured you to high high level got beautiful digits in Yoshida you know making that move to see JJ tonight but like you said no stranger to having strikes thrown his way now a lot of strikes being thrown his way by shared of Moran we're gonna get on the leg here we've seen many many people going on his legs he just slips out your sheet a very calm comfortable composed now he's going in on your she didn't EBI veteran seen him plenty of times in that tournament structure and wanted to test himself really test the leg their share the Murray look assured him Iran working through it who did I need able to clear the lake for the most part is Moran nice free battle for position there but we're not a real estate get restarted on Mike felt on my Beltran to control the action there it's good stuff that was a beautiful successful gourd pool not something you see often it makes martial art to the guard pulp we've seen it a few times here tonight and I think that speaks a lot to the composure of Barrett Yoshida he he wants his fight on the floor even if he's on bottom says a lot about him says a lot about his confidence and his skills there she's smiling a little bit slap in the year that'll really box the ears like absolutely you rattled the brain rock the guy yeah you gonna pop the eardrum easy super easy with that rubber guard now here for if she not slam your opponent Moran keen to that rule not doing anything here that he shouldn't be oh she's smothering him here this reminds me of Nino Schembri and Sakuraba back in Pride hugging them like a koala at what point Kelvin does Yoshida let go of this because he might be gas of his arms hugging him like well he was trying to submit him actually there was a joke there that I was going for but yeah there you go Oh ran trying to make it heavy crowded pound there Maran very calm he looked like he was gonna try to strike the body but didn't feel comfortable disposition now trying to clear the light your schita in on the left leg of Moran yeah I really like the ishita's clinch game though because he's not really told here by Moran there you go some nice strikes with the left hand a lot of technical work here on the floor yeah a lot of transitioning going on we're and posturing up cjj world's one here tonight appreciate you joining us teacher to Santa's Kelvin Gastelum Ben Saunders matt side inside Florentine Gardens is our third quarter finals of our bantamweight tournament don't forget the lightweights headed your way still got the lightweights going for that lightning here yeah we work this quick yeah now you're trying to [Applause] he's coming in with little ground out of his own make ground I'll clear the legs in this scramble run a secure side now I'm trying to bath wade through to your intro saw a little left hand not much on it yeah not really able to land strikes hard here cuz he can't really separate it can't make space if he does is gonna lose control disposition that's right it's one of these that's what the thing that adds more complexity sure to the to the match here you know you open up to strike you give your opponent just a little bit enough room to sleep your shooter here he is right now because he tried to open up his strikes he got swept again right here on his back looks like Moran trying to think about man attacking that arm triangle the right arm not where your feet awan t'sit to be in this position we'll see if there's more to this looks like Moran trying to circle he's posting up in a leg in MMA I mean you would want to get an underhook there too right on look to get up or reversed you sheeted trying to block the mount there with his knee now I like how he's covering up he clearly trained very well for this to be covered up in all his movements because we're not seeing him get super blasted from his back in this match mega just about seven minutes into regulation well walk away again ki if she had waited comfortable having these strikes thrown at him it's not getting rattled like you know some of the other fighters that have been hit a few times Yoshida a guy who's been grappling and fighting and training his whole life he's really at home yeah yeah I mean it doesn't seem to faze him at all it gets a little bit slap I want to echo throughout 14 boils don't forget the Eddie Bravo Invitational returns and EBITDA absolutes December 3rd available UFC fight pass and of course inch by inch TV Gordon Ryan looks to repeat as the absolute change Austin Texas on it Jim [Music] Ben Saunders Kelvin Gastelum train coming through El Monte let's head right above us it sounds like what we'll see if Marin can clear these legs of your cheetah trying to do so trying to open him up with some shots that was nice I like that little bit to the body and into the head some left hands there by Yoshida I think Bart is gonna be complacent with just going to the overtime there's not a lot of a sense of urgency coming from you know he's familiar with that overtime format not necessarily with strikes but maybe he thinks he has an advantage if he goes there unfortunately for Yoshida that is the plan he's not gonna get paid for I only get paid if you win this tournament and do so by stopping in regulation inverted now is barri Yoshida Moran trying to stay cool and composed now trying to pass doing a good job stackable yeah the pressure has been put on here with strikes but also position on the floor when Moran is on top he's really not letting Yoshi to move or breathe trying to keep him close you see the kids won't from the leg so he's being super controlled keeping the presser tight and rainin down these strikes your sheet of firing back a little bit no not the most strong strikes but they made Moran move and that's some space that I think your she'd wanted to get back yes thirty seconds humbling out on the strikes is Moran gotta think I mean the competitors might be having fun here [Applause] now again getting close full guard now for Yoshida Wow ten minutes of fury it's a lot of palm strikes to the ear at this one reminded me lastly in on Saturday when Joe Lausanne was trying to recover that whole time just get blasts huh didn't even know he was out flipping the coin here yo she did gonna be given the opportunity to choose it looks like he's gonna go on offense first he will take the back to share it in Miami I think this might have been Yoshida's planned the whole time to get to loo over time getting the dominant position and it's a bit move on to the next round and we talked about the money you do not Bank any money for yourself if you win in overtime but the prestige ultimately if you can't grip the win you're not gonna you know get that title fight and for Barry Yoshida right now he's trying to stick to a strategy for Sheridan Moran but ultimately he will go on offense now and he just needs to ride it out longer than he ran out or get a submission of course but chair to Moran in a nice position to move on to the semi-final so now you're Sheena has to escape quick very very quickly if his winners yeah if his plan was to go to the Dover top I gotta I gotta give him props for going to his back as much as you did and make it an exciting round she definitely did take yeah time is running out Gant granite granite adjustments here 10 seconds left for Barry Yoshida Cobra story but hopes alive shared him Iran on his back that's a wrap Sheraton Moran on his way gets it done with his semi-finals props to the veteran and we know that's a big win over the schita with his first-round matchup belongs to shared a Moran to make it official Bruce Buffer have we have a winner like that just escapes in overtime sure did arrive [Music] Sheridan Moran moving on to the semi-finals getting it done against a savvy veteran and Barrett Yoshida he put in a lot of work in regulation and ultimately put in a little bit better working overtime tell ya sure some of this act he pressed the action most of the time here he is grabbing the back Yoshida Shaughnessy everything can choke him till the time stop then he wins time not on his side cheer to Moran on his way to the semifinals you're watching combat jujitsu world's Chad the savage George continues his combat jujitsu career when he meets Nathan Trepak near representing Academy there's a lot of fans here inside Florentine Gardens for the savage as well smack to the face standing trap agnya kind of look at him like what are you complaining about he didn't think that was dirty but I don't know if it was an eye poke or just a shot he definitely yeah it was either an attempted collar tie or strip jipang near now apologetic [Music] [Applause] trip agony are very frantic with his motions Chad George got that really happy wrestling base there [Applause] correcta continues off the map the action but my second wise to an opposition very good beautiful beautiful [Applause] [Music] body worthy to be he doesn't have it keep readjusting get your body where's Jorge dramatic you might be in trouble Ben what is he trying to grab that mic so we can stop him from running away [Music] [Applause] the clock it looks good a savage performance by Chad George he is on a mission that mission for him he wants it to end with cjj goal to get the stoppage here over Nathan traffic near to make it official here's Bruce and we have a winner at 2 minutes 3 seconds by submission due to a ghost joke chod 7 gone beautiful dominant by chat that savage George he stops David trafficking here in regulation banking a potential $5,000 prize for himself of course he wants to get that $15,000 if he wins the entire tournaments by submission and regulation but real nice work by the WBC bad Calvin walk us through yeah there is scrap do you know the other guys trying to scramble but he fell right into that joke didn't have quiet have it at first then once he caught that leg he was all over traffic near trying to circle away chat George wisely adjusting did everything he needed to do and most importantly secures a submission in regulation the WEC veteran moving EBI 11 combat jujitsu himself go here night against bag nirosha this is a huge huge opportunity these guys did not waste any time my goodness hook in there now trying to go Berto I'm the one guard oh [ __ ] oh now he's got Moshe trying to get away almost free find a guard my he people wanted look how relaxed Agnes Mikey Zindler I tried to turn himself into a human missile yeah he's he's much like his hair it's a little wild he's fired up guards now while with the right hands right America my he yeah I don't think Mikey cares about getting in the face go he smiled when he got lay on the sub microwave handful find regard OSHA has a very fighter when it comes to Grimes back in combat jujitsu is kind of a smash and passed by the guy he opens up and in trying to put that pressure on Zindler but jizz in lose credit thus far cover I think he's really comfortable he's not he's not letting me get to him where hoshide does get to other fighters mentally no no no it doesn't seem fazed by by hosho forward or anything like that I mean he seems like he's fired up [Applause] less space to run after him here so inside trying to push them away is in there yeah he's the kicker yeah I mean I guess we'll call it making space it's a foot on the hip no one Beckner motion takes a burden don't sit in between right oh [ __ ] again Mikey stay on again trying to attack that go Joe left leg upholstery he's in on a deep yeah oh it's just he seems so comfortable right yeah yeah top game top pressure here of hosh on display find your dominant provision letter that riff mike here you go up crazy scrambles here yeah no shortage of action here free love it OSHA trying to make some space here maybe get free from Zindler Zindler but none of it again on that left leg you can see that not gonna break I cannot even breathing hard he's super calm controlling his breathing when we're talking about a guy who you know did a lot of work did a lot of working overtime he's ready to go that cardiovascularly he's he's in great shape yeah he's in good shape always earn it was put in a lot of bad position when I spotted out yep went to overtime plenty of times and just was able to elbow in elbow in there you go now putting more pressure in top position is hoshin right let him feel it oh you trap him out now here are the Brazilian take the back all the way where it clear my get the control night sign of respect by Mikey simple it was incredibly game he gave our host everything he had but at Ocean who gets it done he moves on to the semis to make it official Bruce Buffer and we have a winner at four minutes 31 seconds by rear naked choke [Music] in regulation rear naked choke stoppage of Mikey's Inler credit to my keys in there for stepping up he he was wild and crazy men walk us through the end here though because hoshin finally gets it done he was able to get the back and watch how quickly he gets this right under the chin oh and then immediately he's already there look he's already tapping immediate beautiful technique a veteran of mixed martial arts EBI standout hop al domingos joins the lightweight bracket representing demi and maya jiu-jitsu tonight he faces a leglock specialist in Jason Hayden representing Gracie FishHawk this is combat jujitsu worlds [Music] [Music] first up to the man representing Demian Maia jiu-jitsu [Music] and his opponent representing Gracie fish-off BJJ Jason the head water final action here in a lightweight tournament the 25 year old Jason and Hayden meeting the 28 year old HOF al Dominguez I remember Domingos from past EBI competitions he is nasty yeah he's great too he's trained with Demian Maia spent a lot of time with Zenith Jiu Jitsu and Robert Drysdale in Las Vegas rocking a 10th planet rash guard tonight yes Sweden Stockholm Hayden found his way into jujutsu after giving up high school football this one might remind himself of some high school football some hard-hitting action maybe that is his way to mingos veteran and mixed martial arts 7 and 2 pro record nice little dive there at the leg by Hayden oh and you feel each other out on the feet and you just told me that he's wearing the Sweden stop because he's making a transition to temp planet Stockholm Sweden out there that's the thing about martial arts they can really be a journey and take you all over the world it's been an action Domingo's he's been a going all over the place training in Sweden the next to his feet [Applause] now showing some respect making sure that the mingoes is okay but oh my goodness guys all that an upset with all the experience that Domingo's has a huge victory in regulation I know that's a huge win over a hotpot Domingues I mean EB I promise Jason Hayden victorious to make it official your first book we have a winner at one minute 36 seconds high heel hook Jason for Jason hate me stopping a former EBI finalist in hop al joe mingos kelvin you got to walk me through this because this was lightning quick Domingos paid attention to this leg lock here to consult huge win I mean see him ankle pick trip them and then you see hatin working to go to the legs right away ride away he's looking looking for one [Music] he doesn't have anything quite yet here then once he goes deep into the ankle transitions right tenth planet black belt submission specialist Nathan orchard gets his shot in the 155-pound division as he faces the MMA fighter Sampson poem about representing absolute MMA this is cjj worlds [Music] at first up to the bat represent a tenth planet Portland [Music] [Applause] [Music] shut up Oh [Music] there is forming EDI Nathan the four tchard representing tentative plan at Portland meeting absolute MMA's samson film about teacher to santa's Kelvin Gastelum Ben Saunders was that name again some about Samson some about some about orchard moving over to combat jujitsu here tonight he would love to represent that tenth planet flag all the way to the finals big fan of Orchard I mean he brings it every single time he's gonna win over a man re he's got that dead orchard that we've seen on display and his MMA experience for sure is gonna hold up really well here in college it soon let us know what you're thinking tonight on Twitter at teacher DeSantis at Ben Saunders MMA at Kelvin Gastelum he's that hash tag at C JJ world's if you watch the last DVI and watch tortured man he put up some of the best fight of the nights that time that night yeah I mean he went and he went far into tournament selling ran into Wagner hoshin in trouble just one minute into regulation this is a wealth of time for Nathan or to the world a lot of time for Nathan orchard to work don't forget he has strikes available to him to switch to a body triangle he's got it sink that in under the chin or over the jaw yeah we've seen that crush here a few times tonight it's played well for a few of our fighters switching sides of the body triangle is orchard there's Emma crush since it was doing a good job of creating the ankle pressure but orchard just swapped it over to the other side Valley down which is veteran chef here of fortune Orchard really you know being calculated with his strikes we've seen some guys get a little too aggressive and fall off a dominant positions now Orchard in on that submission attempt followed by belly down we've seen it work tonight there's an orchard in deep on a hard to see if it's are under the chin here if I'm about trying to peel the hand away Beltran right there such a cool experience combat jujitsu world's number one here tonight a big win a very important win he moves on he does it very quickly Nathan orchard making work happen and the quarterfinals here on his way to the semis to make it official Bruce Buffer [Music] and the winner at 2 minutes 35 seconds my rear naked choke Nathan porkchop lightweights know that they only get paid if they get stoppages in regulation the Nathan orchard continues that trend here they get two rear naked choke stoppage over Sampson thumb about Kelvin walk us through some really great action here by our beautiful beautiful trial body trial done and he was looking to sink that rear naked choke that old time he had his back there he is trying to strike to open up that that choke and there it is has it over the jaw not quite under the chin over the jaw but he gets it done tonight patient was orchard plumb about tried to do everything he could to get free including throwing some strikes at orchard he was trying to peel the hand doing everything he could to be defensive here and get free but unfortunately for him his night is over Nathan orchard he is on his way to the semifinals at combat jujitsu world's getting the tap in regulation here over Sampson thumb about more action this is combat jujitsu rounding out the first round of our lightweight tournament is UFC veteran Tyson Griffin tonight he makes his combat jujitsu debut against the submission hunting MMA fighter James Gonzalez representing Matt Serra Brazilian jiu-jitsu [Music] first up to the mat representing performance fitness and MMA Tyson Griffin [Music] and his opponent representing Sarah Brazilian Jujitsu James speedy Gonzalez [Music] the 27 year old James Gonzalez meets the 33 year old Tyson Griffin our final quarterfinal matchup of our lightweight tournament 27 he's got a huge opportunity in front of him to face Tyson Griffin I mean one of the Great's in the UFC I mean he's got a long history in the WEC and UFC so expect to see some action from Tyson Griffin see Gonzales trying to get a takedown here on Griffin Griffin in composition but immediately defensive trying to get free from the offense here Gonzales me pretty good the meat-free Tyson Griffin has a window I mean Tyson is has been hit by some of the hardest hitters and mixed martial arts so oh yeah I mean that composure but at the same time he's got to make sure that he doesn't you know eat too many of those strikes he's I'm composition though probably want to give a few back got to thank the official sponsor of combat jiu-jitsu West Coast cure he provide them with a West Coast cure calm wanna go the back coming back to me nice and Griffin now being patient know Gonzalez been on bottom here been but he's been really offensive as he is made Tyson Griffin react a bit more than I think Tyson's wanted to he hasn't been able to secure a position much until now and even now we see Gonzalez trying to frame up that all Milan yeah him training with Matt Serra you know he's going to be super technical on the ground with jiu-jitsu but also be very very aware of strikes doing a good job defending here there's also a potential it is Tyson Riven going for a bit of it there there is a there is a toehold there but it can also just alleviate how does he finish this on the water I mean you know the thing well he stood up now so yeah he had to swap it he swapped it over whoo now you clapping real wise to the submission he also didn't give up position time equal make the top fighter going bottom good sticking with him it's almost like glue on that leg Kelvin yeah he's trying to work you think was trying to work on the corner Tyson Griffin calling out for the bow to swing them around in a garden like a hula hoop martial arts Gonzalez looking well-prepared here for the UFC veteran enticing Griffin yeah it's always pressing the pace pressing the action Tyson work defend begin to composure by Tyson Griffin on display here staying calm not getting frantic and staying out of trouble for the most part listening well did any in his corner the hula hoop escape was right there Gonzalez a little bit aggressive now on bottom the corner for Gonzales I think tell him to look out for that omoplata again feet on the hips here breathing here we the strong top a half guard game was definitely something I thought would be in Tyson's favor are now again I'm at Alma Plata he's doing a good job grabbing the hip right there back them maintaining the control of doing full auto if he shocks him to the right side to try to flatten his face down try to get the finish or he might go for the legs but he kids also doing a good job in obtaining everything together yeah he's doing a great job defending his face at the same time I haven't seen him take two-inch damage that takes a lot of energy but those tree trunk legs Tyson's brother Kyle Griffin finals of the absolute tournament at EBI we saw him pretty much sacrifice his arm to be a finalist in that tournament and a deep deep armbar but he wrote it out in overtime and you can't question the durability of either brothers Griffin fight of the night amazing fights in the UFC he's won with Frank Jaeger oh man watch that one on fight pass at some point if he can right now we got two guns Allah send this inverted triangle here working it on Tyson Griffin I mean credit to Jason consults he is really in control here and really making Tyson Griffin react in a lot of ways now throwing some strikes Gonzales has done primarily all of his offense Kelvin with submissions and grappling techniques Griffin ready to go tonight Gonzales tying Griffin up in knots here yeah Tyson doing a good job with that s grip on the inside trying to get his arm back through to get out of this and very trying wall he's also working a toe hold as Gonzales yeah maybe just to make them think maybe just to make them react with those tree trunk legs of Tyson Griffin they're all so sweaty here so maybe you can use that to get free ice is done by Tyson Griffin for as much as we compliment the offense here of Gonzales got a credit the defense here Gonzales keeps throwing up his legs keeps threatening with submissions three minutes three minutes here hi Jill slowly keep your weight on them now James Gonzales controlled here by Tyson really for the first time in a while but immediately move in trying to get back to guard is James Gonzales yeah this is where I would think Tyson wants to be use on top that's where he does the most of his damage they on top comes back under that scramble position again now James stepping over beautifully done weapon the leg Griffin staying calm very deep on that leg what a night it has been combat jujitsu world's 24 years and after the inaugural UFC event the next step in the evolution of the ground taking place tonight there we go I still slap on your wrist Ross the face by Gonzalez nice sticking the other leg in there swaps it over would you like just wait back to the leg game here Tyson trying to get in deep down dirt come on top trying to get free up on top come on me three okay go 90 seconds remain here in regulation here to say this Kelvin Gastelum Ben Saunders Florentine Gardens almani California Oh noggin solace one minute opposition guard C Griffin trying to get here but now Gonzales grabbing the head still locked up here is Tyson Grif and he's get a hold of that yeah yeah the solace able Utah position forward a path forward path hold it in the chair if you can use this sweep to at least get a half guard position but 40 seconds left maybe you can rain down some strikes or trying to freakin trying to get free trying to stick with the 20 seconds left try to finish this arm look at that I see Griffin on the brink of defeat gets free now these guys are going to war yeah ten seconds in regulation Wow breathe in breathe in ten minutes in the books James Gonzalez looks no worse for the wear Tyson Griffin might be a bit tired and exhausted Wow and this is where judges no matter No yeah that was a clear run away in regulation for James Gonzales but Tyson Griffin far from out of this one it is all about the finish again only one overtime permitted through our quarterfinals Gonzales able to go on offense first he elects to take the back of the UFC veteran huge opportunity here for Gonzales yeah Hiep body triangle employed by Gonzalez Gonzalez has his leg in between Griffin's legs is that he doesn't want that there right Calvin he doesn't he wants to have that body triangle but he looks perfectly comfortable there as well so I switch to the other side Griffin trying to really survive here trying to peel the leg away yeah yeah Riven really grimacing from the body triangle I wonder if he might be hurt to the body or if that's just the pressure that Gonzalez is putting on him yeah it's a very uncomfortable position yeah having that body stick his hips behind you constricts your breathing position now Tyson Griffin knows he needs to ride out domina position longer or get a submission we'll see what he elects to do I think it should be mentioned Tyson appears to be pretty tired he's little fighting the tea yeah he's gonna go spider web position here it feels confident I wonder if he feels that there's more submissions available to him here or if he feels more in control let's see let's see what he has here yeah we'll see if he elects use any strike sir just control Gonzalez victorious over Tyson Griffin too much used a timer and over time it's a beautiful and huge win huge win over a guy like Tyson Griffin that's a big win at a resume date men that is a statement to all the other lightweights in this tournament to make it official is Bruce Buffer and the winner by quickest escaping overtime James speedy speedy with his escape time I'm really fast and furious with his submission offense throughout regulation this was a standout performance a career performance they think Kelvin Wakarusa absolutely this is a huge went for him he was able to get out of the submission get out of the bad position he was in and win and win this dis match against Tyson Chris on his way to the semifinals with that escape quickest escape time and overtime only fitting that speedy Gonzalez gets it done all right let's take a look at our bracket as it shapes up for the lightweights our final four vogner HOSA Jason Hayden Nathan orchard and James Gonzales what a night it is here in Florentine Gardens combat jujitsu worlds will crown a lightweight champion but a bantamweight champion as well more action straight ahead you're watching cjj world like to thank proud sponsors of Sherman's MMA Nick pretty boy pace and his opponent representing heads or Gracie Academy side bar side Co alright we are back to the bantamweight division Nick pace taking on side Marham Oreo referee Mike Beltran will oversee our semifinal action Kelvin Gastelum been killaby saunders hand by nick pace who upset nick han steam and quarterfinals in the redhead Oreo who was vicious with his strikes Kelvin in the quarterfinal rounds in d-block I remember him very well there you go bloodied up JM Holland I'll try to do the same here against new pace pace said that he wants to be considered a bonafide contender here in combat jujitsu he's come on a mission and you know getting past Nakhon Si and the quarterfinals that makes a huge statement taking out the EBI CJ's a huge huge statement huge confidence booster for paste as well yeah if he paid attention to his last fight though he's gonna be aware of just pulling guard get him blasted from the top yeah we'll see if he wants to play that game I mean so far these guys feeling each other out one minute in here to regulation again we have that get down rule if you don't know what that is if the match stays for these on the feet for more than two minutes a horn will sound the referee will intervene with a coin toss and we'll start these guys on the floor it's all it's all about action here at combat jujitsu worlds and of course the action intensifies when strikes are introduced on the feet are on the on the floor rather awesome to see Horry and Gracie hearings stands as we saw that saw that or Ian Gracie one of the founders of the UFC in twenty four years after you have seen one in here tonight we see a new sport really takes center stage you can't stress it enough I mean combat jiu-jitsu was the focus of Eddie Bravo and he wasn't able to get it going as well as he was EBI and you know it's been an attraction to sideshow essentially at the EBI tournament in tonight it is the whole show and right now side Marham Oreo in on a leg big pace now strikes for legal yeah I know I mean Eddie has been very vocal about yeah how he wanted to combat jiu-jitsu worlds and from there was a bi but for his first main mission was to make combat well I mean you look at modern-day Brazilian jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts the craftsmanship I think of grappling it gets overlooked a little bit been we see guys that you know really aren't comfortable will play off their back for prolonged periods of time because in an MMA fight if you're on your back a lot of times you're losing on the judges scorecards here you're not penalized for playing that that guard it's definitely it's definitely beautiful and you know the fact that they were able to get this regulated and get this started is a testament to what Eddie's kind of bring into the community jiu-jitsu martial arts in general man this is this is huge no I mean he is he is changing the way we we do jiu-jitsu we pick all right guys working on a real estate we'll get them reset here in the middle of you know this this match a lot different for both of these guys good pace was you know on the bottom of Nakhon Si and his first match and the Moria was on top of JM Holland raining down the strikes I mean these guys are not really willing to relinquish position on their feet right nonno moment really initiated any sort of takedown really and I think that shows you from one match to another in this tournament your strategy and gameplan really needs to be melded and conform to your next opponent it's not the same strategy throughout know just like MMA fights I mean styles play into it as well these guys have different styles of the guys creates dude I know he goes distort in this match they face now on top here and over them now went on a leg product now they're pressing to face a little bit more Morial unable to land heavy strikes down with his back in the mat we'll see if he tried to get top position maybe in a scramble but right now controlling Nick pace planted a 50/50 and there it is the real advantage when it comes to the light game here between either man let's see him rain down someone was oh we saw having this mouse match pacing back on a leg past the halfway point here the top you're not gonna get a good time they're not gonna get it down top unable to do so now Memorial in on a leg of pace runs move rolling his pace a stoppage in regulation with a hen's over AC Billy black belt [ __ ] pace upset with himself justifiably so you wanted this badly but right now side Marham Oreo punches his tickets to the first-ever cjj World Finals to make it official and get the time of the stoppage here's Bruce Buffer [Music] and the winner at five minutes 26 seconds my heel hook sidebar psycho side mark memoriam getting it done stoppage in regulation Jimmy's victorious over JM Holland via stoppage in overtime but on his way to the finals he's got $5,000 banks and he gets it with a beautiful submission here stopping pace walk us through this this action your Kelvin yeah he just leaped right into that ankle lock he got it yeah they said he'll hook it actually looked like it could have been a combination of knee bar and Hill who another shot of it here you can see on the feed yard I knew that he had a good shot at getting it he commits to it props it up you know it's a repo hunt North Face trying to spin out of it unable to do so sidebar home Oreo on his way to the finals here at combat jujitsu worlds [Music] representing mid-city MMA first to the mat is sure didn't arrive [Music] and his opponent representing California picks martial arts John Suthers George our second semi-final is underway the bantamweight bracket both of these guys were featured in the first-ever EBI cjj bantamweight tournament Chad George was a finalist Sheridan Moran came up short to Nick Hunstanton and now these guys are gonna go to war with a spot in the finals on the line TJ to Santa's Kelvin Gastelum Ben killaby Saunders mat side Florentine Gardens Chad George victorious his first time out via stoppage got a win via Darce over Nathan trapping near Sheridan Moran victorious over Barrett Yoshida escape time and overtime solved that one yeah Chad George coming in a little bit more fresh you know he had a relatively quick match to this last match Moran had to go deep into the overtime with Yoshida so it might be a little bit 15 yeah he took a lot of open palms through the year - that's right going back to Chad George's one and only cjj Tournament appearance he had that rib injury and he said you know I'm healthy here tonight he's looked every bit he looks more he looks the part absolutely he looks healthy he looks fresh he looks in shape ready to win this tournament for those who have never had a rib injury it's super debilitating you can't do anything without play when defending twister like [Music] [Applause] now we go to the savage George and a good position here wasn't even due to finish this done I mean essentially if he if he if he we get the leg doesn't need it what he's doing right here is a beautiful way to try to try to squeeze it in but he's also got to pay attention to his squeezing endurance cuz it's the round just started two minutes into regulation here Chad George : trying to stay on this choke Moran trying to answer some strikes with George able to use that opportunity to readjust choke it and tighter Moran moving though credit to him Calvin throws below the knee nicely done by Sheraton Moran but again George trying to get right back get out of it now this is where the the game the wrestling game of Chad George pays dividends were in he's a top positional grappler and combat jujitsu serves his entire game very well yeah I mean his style plays really well into these these rules this kind of tournament you know the combat just rolls because of his wrestling pedigree for a lot of space there and is my experience Oh Chad George's had a tale of two different sort of submissions not necessarily define his career would be very notable in the WEC he was not very happy when he was ten finger guillotine by Scott Jorgensen and then he answered that up later in his career getting a beautiful von fluke oak in Bellator and now it's all about the submissions here in combat jujitsu and Chad George really having a renaissance I think in his career I think this type of game for an MMA veteran like Chad George is really gonna pay him well watch the second career in his combat journey really ya know I mean he looks revitalized here tonight you know like he really wants it like you're really trying for this like this is something really important for him he won the first one in beautiful fashion and right now Manny he almost close this one out pretty quick it's got to build some confidence though for Sheridan Moran to battle through that choke a choke that Georges finished his first fight with so Moran knows that he can survive that position high strikes their use by Chad George why not I mean we're standing mat side here that is a testament to the action that we've seen in both of these tournaments bantamweight taking center stage now the lightweights were getting work done very quickly combat to Jitsu announcing itself to the world here tonight share to Moran now again in top position but he has his head controlled here by Chad George yeah this this gets me excited I mean there's a rural fool UFC at WEC veterans and it just gets me fired up for my fight Michael Bisping coming up a couple weeks for Kelvin Gastelum but a crazy week for you sir yeah I felt sick to my stomach when I heard the news but one one door opened another one door closes another one opens absolutely Moran now with his head free setting up inside again you can see I know Chad doing a good job controlling controlling his uh his arm in his head so inside corner Moran called for that posture looked like George can try to frame up a triangle unable to do so there you go I love the hand placement we'll needs these guys back to their feet this match a lot more difficult lot more work being put out here by Chad George than in his first matchup you know Chad George's corner tell him tell him he wants they want him to put his bounine on his back George definitely capable of that we talked about his wrestling game Sam look we sat down on that takedown gave up his neck [Music] [Applause] looks good last the armed isolated but Sheridan Moran and a lot less trouble than it was in a moment ago I caught a leg now he can't jump over to the other side to potentially finish what happens to their George waving the crowd on to get outside you know history will show the Chad George is the first combat mujinju player at EBI to ever successfully land a strike and he really changed the entire environment the feel of the room when he landed the first strike JM Holland and yeah he he loves this he really feels alive out there competing in combat jujitsu and you see that games Network yeah that first lap it was amazing watch credit to all of our competitors here tonight keeping that vibe going and this really does feel completely different than your average jujitsu turn yeah I mean this platform this this the set up they have here is amazing I've never been to a digital competition of this caliber it's amazing to eight-man tournaments taking place here tonight teacher De Santis Ben Saunders Kelvin Gastelum Florentine Gardens El Monte California making history tonight the first ever see JJ world's these guys putting in work the winner will take on one side Marham Oreo in the finals of our lightweight tournament weight tournament he's not doing too much from his back as far as offense but he's definitely controlling his posture and he's definitely not getting beat up from there Landing of select few strikes to the head in the years more pressure you gotta wonder if moran knows that the offensive attack from george maybe a little too difficult to solve here tonight maybe he's trying to play for overtime where he'll be put in a dominant position or maybe he's just trying to make george make a mistake before he explodes into something try to wear him down a little bit bring him a little bit more on his level as for his left hand with a savage chat george little palm Oh George the savage we're an able to get some space moves back to his pin that's what happens when you get slap you want to get the heck out of it huh you know when you look at Chad George throw from the open guard there he's really hipping into it too that's that's that MMA experience I think with the ground and pound oh yeah reminded me of the hallmark Holmen grounded now yeah three second Chad less than 30 seconds remains here in regulation look floored ooh Chad George trying to make something happen here in the last few seconds sitting innovative you love it going for it resting on his laurels chair to Miranda the same thing ten seconds of regulation remains over time will decide this one fantastic regulation will climb out so now we are headed to overtime this is our semifinal round so three maximum over times will be permitted the overtime ride length maximum three minutes now that they're in the semi finals are they doing one overtime three three three minute overtime max both of these guys obviously would love to finish it before we get to that third overtime or even second overtime I mean they got another match at the winner that's gonna meet the Memorial in the finals Chad George on offense first he likes to take the back share to Moran George trying to get that body triangle Moran trying to stop it when UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett in the corner of Chad George Barnett you know stand out mixed martial artist but also stand out in the grappling game he competed throughout his entire career he's very experienced amazing cat wrestler yes forgive me if I'm wrong but did he did not submit Frank Mir work that bottom hand demon Lister in metamoris he did submit with a almost like a can opener from the guard that's right I think you might still be the heavyweight champion share to Moran able to get free does so relatively quickly but again we are in three overtimes here now we're in our semifinal so George while he didn't necessarily control for that long he has more of an opportunity to do so Sheridan Moran now on the back of Chad George he already lost one hook though that's gonna try to break that grip with his left foot [Applause] get that you are one hand off your chair to Moran now really racking up that time here in control of Chad George establish both hooks once again corner here of George Ellen who's got a move [Applause] [Music] [Applause] our second overtime top of the Senate over time now for Chad George he elects to take the back we'll see if he tries to we established that ride time legalization here or if he's gonna be as aggressive as he was the first time the going that body triangle is the savage don't forget strikes are still permitted here in overtime dad George hasn't forgot Moran trying to peel the hand away [Applause] [Music] [Applause] find appealing yeah George hit the stoppage at the top of the second overcoming Sheridan Moran has some quick work if he wants to continue in this tournament Never Say Never Barty seen some crazy upsets here he chooses the back very interesting choice this is where the tactics and strategy is going to grow not only for these fighters but the fighters watching at home as we evolve and move through combat jiu-jitsu will see if the data collected here plays a factor at all going for but right now shared of Moran his future in this tournament may be very short and then trying to open up Chad George with some strikes [Applause] Jan tore my day job booth for the savage once again bound for the pin and we combat jujitsu finals look at the relief on chat chores everything you could tell he was ready he had to work for it the savage Chad George will meet side Mar Memorial and the bantamweight finals to make this one official fired up here's Bruce Buffer and we have a winner in overtime with a rear naked choke they called him Chad savage or fired up for good reason his WEC veteran jab the savage George on his way to the finals of the first-ever combat jujitsu world's he will not meet Nick on scene this time side more home Oreo will be the man he meets for cjj gold walk us through the savage kellton beautifully done I mean he stayed patient on it the guy was trying to hold off as much as he can but Chad George is the Sabbat living up to the nickname Sheridan Moran he tried to respond he was unable to do so didn't have a lot of time to work the savage on his way to meet side Marham Oreo let's take a look at the bracket and how it shapes up memoria was able to dispatch JM Holland then it was Nick pace up next Chad George who got past Nathan trapping earth and of course Sheridan ran right there the finals are set lightweights will vie for cjj gold later here tonight this is combat you two two worlds [Music] [Music] more athletes remain in tonight's combat surgeon su world's lightweight tournament for the first match in the semi-finals we have first to the mat representing vogner Roach of martial arts dr. Rocha and his opponent representing Racine Bischoff BJJ Jason head [Music] [Music] Aiden victorious a bit of an upset he'll hook submission for himself vogner oh [ __ ] all right here we go we are underway hoshi hurt the black with gray Hayden with that huge victory over domingos with the heel hook you know this would be another upset for him and that's really what happens here in these tournaments sometimes you know a guy that is not necessarily the favorite a dark horse if you will makes a name for himself and I think already Jason Hayden is really made a statement with that previous win if he can pull off another win over Lochner Hoshi I mean we're talking about a career night absolutely I mean he had a great outing in his last match against half I'll Domingo's you know I mean this guy could be the next Gordon Ryan I don't know I mean never know two three years ago who do you about Gordon Ryan you know yeah Gardner Hoshi was able to get work done against my keys in learn rear naked choke stoppage for hosting let them free breath intelligently underneath good yeah Jason Hayden the the younger brother of Josh Hayden who's uh who's also competed at EBI man they they're ridiculous unlock locks when he got that he'll hook in the last one made you can print yeah when I saw him turn that that's what's cool you talk about the brothers I mean jiu-jitsu is really a family martial art it's very rare that you know one let go one set of siblings one you know singular sibling will will train where the other one won't and seen that a few times I'm we saw Tyson Griffin earlier his brother Kyle Griffin has competed in EBI before and Brazilian jiu-jitsu it's it's contagious yeah yeah so many lessons get you you know Brandon if you're gonna beat up by a family member you might want to learn and so vogner now top position qinger just another big match the girl i skin to skin turned up that hurt hurt he's gonna make it as painful as possible everything that vogner has opposed to painful are you talking about his EBI performances on the period oh it's bright enough for the heads up to the grove strikes just trying to get positioning you know gauge that range here it's all very control those arms wrist control now back to the feet trying to get on that collar ties Hey wrist lock almost on the feet roadway definitely got a reaction for sure almost plane the vogner Rocha game / now a tunnel like breading goes in slow control the leg breath into that inner thigh good berry-berry pulling me over the side right down with the strike was oh [ __ ] keep that pressure wrist control remember the control zillion they didn't able to get three now in on a shot we're not a real estate move back to things like Beltran's there I mean this man is a wall stuff like that throw heavy weights at this man need to stop with his beard TJ - Santa's Kelvin Gastelum Ben Saunders our first semifinal here in the lightweight leg chris bullard 14 Gardens El Monte California - a very very history being made in this one skin-to-skin whack of the palm strike I mean creative very creative I mean not only does it cause more physical pain but just mental anguish ya know just get inside the head a little bit yeah it makes somebody really uncomfortable we're on the cobbler strategy and game plan he clearly knew what he was doing by pulling that up and smacking it no key I think vogner how she has so pleasant dreams about hurting his opponents yeah I'm gonna bring torture into combat Yugi too why'd you set up secure that takedown again right now back time here we'll see if Hayden can get in business I mean in these positions hoshide generally controls and if he's not controlling we talk about him just doing the little things you know the the aggressive hand grab questionable if it's a palm strike or not or if he's just gauging dessert or trying to grab a call a tie he just makes you so uncomfortable and for many people I think in in some of these tournaments it has gotten in their head and made them more aggressive and Vagner smiling there I mean he's a guy who really likes to make mistake now we press intelligently address the leg bury him again you bury him again let's go 24 years ago he was there watching those fights and now 24 years later he's here tonight watching the very first cjj that's pretty cool I mean worrying grace here this is all really an extension of the UFC become about the UFC in this country to take nor the fact that UFC one was 24 to ignore the fact North strikes you're good you are Xhosa and business here okay on Jason hey happy now on the back you got there is no EBI there is no combat jujitsu now you can rain now on the body polar angle is hoshin two minutes remain kind of downplaying the strikes sticking out his tongue breath yeah I might hurt me but even if that's the reaction it elicits from Wagner Hoshi you gotta think from his standpoint no selling the strikes yeah no I mean backers there he has complete control landing down shots he's having fun yeah he's gonna grind them out here oh I'm trying to crush the face get under the chin [Applause] thank your heart you mean with those strikes [ __ ] your face magner let's go regulations don't count hate not of this one though he's been game throughout lunch money drive let's go watch the track there's a bug a muggle bit goes all of his opponent yeah yeah this is definitely what I expected from fagner if he got you got control that are maybe 28 seconds left for Bach commotion do something with it right there [Applause] Ebanks 5 $4,000 whoo that's what the striking does it opens up submissions just like it opens up that arm vogner Lucia Wow beautiful done in regulation unfortunately for Hayden he was very close to making a true regulation but unable to do so vogner Xhosa moving on to the lightweight finals to make it official it's Bruce Buffer I'm gave a winner at nine minutes 45 seconds by armbar ha [Applause] all he does is win vogner Xhosa getting it done his second submission of the night in regulation he's still in the mix for $15,000 Kelvin walk us through this beautiful finish yeah right now he's trying to stick to the back gets that arm trapped and he's trying to go for for a Kimura or americano right there can't quite get it [Music] there you go a submission finish vogner Hoshi once he opened up with those strikes started landing down those slaps it gave you know it made Hayden react and give back their host of that arm we're closer to getting it done armbar stoppage punching his ticket to the finals vogner OSHA ready to try to claim $15,000 asking to be a great final our second semi-final straight ahead this is combat jujitsu worlds [Music] [Music] first up to the mat representing 10th planet Portland Nathan or cha [Applause] his opponent representing Sarah Brazilian Jujitsu J Speedy Gonzales I would [Music] second semi-final indeed lightweight bracket it is James Gonzalez versus ten planet representative Nathan orchard Newton's also the Matt Serra black belt Nathan orchard no stranger to these formats EBI finalists already got a big win here tonight in combat you jitsu gonzales he's a Matt Serra prodigy he is definitely and I'm sure Matt Serra is watching online I've been able to compete against those guys ray Longo Matt Serra those are all great guys great great guys I've had the pleasure of having him be my coach on The Ultimate Fighter yeah he definitely has to watch the arm drag against Orchard Orchard turning his body almost 90 degrees Gonzales what do you think he's doing there cultivatable trying to bait him grab an arm grab a leg see what happens Zhaan's takes a seat that makes him a grounded fighter susceptible to strikes through maybe one or two that weren't technically legal orchard knew it I sign a respect these guys get in the the motion of throwing these strikes it's almost hard to stop especially if you fought MMA you're not used to the real set saying you can stand up rule Orchard I think hurt Gonzales so what did what did Gonzales do he stood up he got away from you know being able to be strong yeah smart move it's really mixed martial arts in Reverse when it comes to the strike ass was on display there what a night it has been teacher DeSantis Kelvin Gastelum Ben Saunders combat jujitsu world's the next step in the evolution of the ground making history there it is that's appreciate everyone joining us on inch by inch TV it's where you can find all of these great paper views of course you have seen on TV as well but inch by inch don t be your home for combat jujitsu worlds guys head to head right now trying to peel away the hands is Orchard we'll see what he he looks like he keeps going for either an arm drag to take the back or an ankle pick attempt to get the takedown smart going to a need strike but now leaving in kind is nathan torture maybe these strikes count from those strikes Gonzales gave them they was illegally good so I think so he can't slap him here no one is grounded generally interesting loophole and the rule because there still I mean very much grappling when you're in that sort of koala position but no one has grounded therefore no strikes early going keeps going to a need a strike but then he drags up he's not really going down honey yeah and the question is I mean where where is the knee are the three points on the ground when he lands a strike or the three points on the ground when he throws the strike you see that would be just just part of that day - Dada Dada on that run collecting tonight it's either the combo is what's doing it bringing him off his feet cause he's tried more than one strike or he's putting so much emphasis on the power that is pulling him up I mean we saw straight up like boxing affair earlier in our prelims as well so I mean we knew that we were gonna learn some things about combat jujitsu and I think we've been educated in a lot of ways learning more this is just an introduction to it I think we're gonna see a whole lot of different things in the near future yeah they're gonna study this come back crazy smart move there by Nathan orchard Gonzalez was trying to bait him down there on the floor and Orchard didn't want to be in that position he got away quickly Oh beautiful world's room he's always trying to control that leg and another path Oh hard right hand by Gonzales hard he might butterflies now for orchard you can kind of tell the orchard did not like that strike you know we talked about the open hand strikes in box the ear if it lands behind the ear I mean we've seen that time and time again in mixed martial arts if you land a strike behind the ear it can really play there we go a factor and now or to get that rubber guard going is in Orchard's world yeah we'll see if he goes for the dead orchard right now he's kind of double bagging keeping his posture down and this is a position where Nathan orchard while he's on bottom he clears completely owns your movement he's very much the one in control a comfortable position a lot of time for orchard to work here four and a half minutes beautiful these guys vying for just bought in the finals against vogner hoshin it would be a rematch a lot of ways for Nathan orchard who ran into hoja at the last DBI this time I thought there would be strikes it's doing a great job with that double bag that stops him from just jumping out or rolling out always trying to get free now holding on to his his own leg but this is really ultimate control right Benny yeah and you can and you can hear Eddie he's tell him be patient you know he's got he's got a lot of options here you can either he can go omoplata you can go go go Plata go go clinch right now he's bringing that leg back up there's arm bars this is Nathan orchards world and as you can see he can't get struck that's so that's that's the beauty of the rubber guard and really eddie cyst on my fuel he has to be completely on the defense right now because that left arm is completely trapped and in danger and again if this was a mixed martial arts bout some judge somewhere despite orchard and complete control would score this round for Gonzales on top if it was a long period of this because he quote-unquote he must be in control he's in top of it if you guys can see what he's doing with his left elbow and form but predominantly his elbow he is stabbing it into his neck and now he's grinding it into his jaw on his neck it is a super hunk uncomfortable position to make them squirm and move and then an opening will eventually arouse and how much energy is Nathan orchard really exerting here Ben I mean is this time his world no he doesn't really have to really contract much of his muscles we might be in trouble here it takes me back UFC Phoenix the man Ben Saunders right there on the guard via via dead orchard that's what Nathan what just went for mortar putting his hand in the face of Gonzalez what a fun night this has been guys combat u jutsu world's already exceeding expectations and we're not even to a final yet yeah this is one of the greatest events I've ever attended let alone been a part of was the 90 seconds remain here and our final semi final light weights on the mat Nathan orchard James Gonzalez ooh beautiful right man that was 100% legal by Gonzalez drops two meter right he also does the same these guys going tit for tat we got one minute 60 seconds remain oh nice little counter there parried by orchard I mean we expected strikes on the floor I didn't expect modified standing striking game and that's what we're getting now and think about it that will open up takedowns there really will it will open I mean it's a difference I mean that's a strategy I think we're gonna see evolve over time here in combat regions for the next event we're good to see the craziest things I could see that causing a knock out if they put all their hip weight into it Never Say Never I mean the palm is is a it can be as just as hard as a punch I mean we've mentioned it earlier bas Rutten destroy people a palm strike now some strikes from Orchard do you see right there Gonzales respects him he had to cover up there as he went back to his feet Nathan orchard side whoo that's homeboy Dan regulation all right coin flip headed to overtime again our semifinals have a maximum of three overtime periods each top will consist of maximum of three minutes Nathan orchard goes on offense first top of our first overtime he elects the back of James Gonzales those hands cross face here trying to dig it underneath the chin is Nathan orchard gritting his face must be oh we saw a lot of that in the last EBI guys going for the rear naked settling with the face crush sometimes the crush would be right over the nose yeah yeah and it just hurts like hell it does not take much pressure to break the nose Orchard trying to dig across the face with the blade of nicely done there by Gonzalez orchard made it much uncomfortable is it good I mean he spun through a body triangle or to still the potty triangle when he ended up in the full guard there so credits to Gonzalez man he stuck in there Gonzalez on the back now of orchard top or bottom of the first overtime if you can try to make orchard as uncomfortable as orchard made him a moment ago I love you the strikes that orchards two in there yeah I mean that's something in mixed martial arts when you have your back taking the new throw strikes not really an advisable strategy but here in combat jujitsu maybe it's different yeah well he's forcing him like he's holding the body with both his arms that how are you even going to defend it or to try to spin three Justin by Gonzalez Gonzalez able to maintain that body triangle which I think a lot of you stay in the position now he goes to traditional hooks which usually means that there was pressure on the ankle that Nathan was put in there Morgan is trying to scrape the heel off so he can get his hips to selling out grabbing that leg is trying to the door down he's gonna pop over able to bring that leg into play now isolated [Music] nicely done by nathan orchard the corner of James Gonzalez thing you are a head referring to that ride time that escape time always got the arm trapped oh this is beautiful nice stuff top on second overtime top of the second Nathan orchard which will now trying to yeah maintain control your Gonzalez trying to move nice Oh beautiful Gonzalez sticking in there trying to get that writing time I really didn't know what overtime was gonna look like what strikes we're finding out Nathan orchard trying to make those strikes lead with stoppage now he's in deep on that cross [Music] Wow I don't know where we're at on a skate time this is the bottom of the second overtime we're still headed to one more overtime if we do not get a stoppage here but James Gonzalez is able to get a submission right it's done okay this is the second second I apologize got a lot of action we got two tournaments tonight TJ two Santa's Ben Saunders Kelvin Gastelum combat jujitsu worlds here on overtime bottom of the second overtime a final semifinal here of the lightweight bracket don't you winner this will face vogner Xhosa and the finals to crown the first-ever cjj world lightweight champion yeah yeah body trying to body [Music] and that was a quick response by orchard he did get away quicker than he did in the first overtime so again we don't have an official clock next to us and they're gonna accumulate all the time in this escape time time we'll move on the top of the third overtime Nathan orchard in control hearing as the back of James Gonzalez he did a good job making sure not to go too crazy with the strike slapped out now miss Gonzalez needs more time would be smart it's almost been very difficult to submit here in this position the body triangles got to be fatiguing for Gonzalez I mean the second match of the night he's already gone through the ten minute regulation period to overtime rounds now this is his third yeah you got Nathan torture on your back with a body triangle that can't be too good that's a dangerous game can't be too comfortable right here it is very uncomfortable to be in that position Orchard taking his time making sure that he doesn't get too aggressive and lose anything Gonzales making some space moving or for trying to adjust push that out push that out now he's trying to crush the face once again trying to isolate that arm these guys are rolling they turn they they were almost running on a real estate you know an orchard do that on purpose sir oh that's a beautiful move Gonzales almost free orchard rolling but or to reserve at least to get a few more seconds in every second counts here in overtime yeah going around the head grabbing the the armpit on the other side I mean that's almost a net crank in its own right so that was a beautiful control spot now Gonzales changing things up an electic spiderweb here in the bottom of the third overtime trying to get fries in good position [Music] walk it up right there you might have locked it up right there we will find out what the official escape time is here in a moment but really what a classic between these two guys a lot of the line to spawn the finals on the line I believe they will calculate everything Bruce Buffer will have our winner and winner by fastest escape and overtime on his way to a rematch with vogner hoja this time it will be for combat jujitsu world lightweight gold it gives me goose boning take a look at this replay Kelvin Nathan orchard able to get freed he did it perfectly yeah he went straight to his knees didn't give the guy a chance to adjust or try and finish that armbar he just went straight to his knees and got out credit to Nathan orchard he was down I think early in the overtime with the escape time but he gets it done let's take a look at how our lightweight final came to be vogner OSHA victorious over Mikey's Inler he then took out Jason Hayden now he meets Nathan orchard who just got past James Gonzalez and in our quarter-final Sampson plum about was quick work for the man of the inventor of the dead orchard all right we have a special match headed your way next former UFC title challenger Wilson Hayes he takes on fan Eddie this is cjj world up next is our featured special match of the evening as templated preach products been Eddy meets Wilson Hayes representing Alliance MMA straight ahead it's been Eddie versus the former UFC title challenger Wilson Hayes this is cjj worlds [Music] ladies and gentlemen we would like to present to you one more special batch in the lightweight division before we move on to our final introducing purse representing tenth planet freaks [Music] and for the Lions MMA [Music] this contest Mike felt wrong figure it should be known that Betty actually bit through his lip maybe a week ago had to get it stitched up and that's why he is not part of the tournament but he's good enough to go for this special mat so if you see blood it might be split up Wilson a is actually through a bit of a right hand there hey is the former UFC title challenger former lead exceed federal wing champion better to mix martial arts veteran of our athletes well and multiple tournaments I think he's excited to be out there yeah he looks fired up ready to go slap them in the face sting instinct yeah we're not the only ones excited here tonight guys I mean these these guys are going for it just to be a part of a special match on this card see jj1 I mean this is your your cjj one veteran I think that gives you some street cred yeah I think so Eddie went to his seat a two strikes they're from Hayes you look at these two men Eddie a lot longer lot taller then Wilson hey suddenly a factor here in the guard with the length of been adding the stock eNOS what's that are [Applause] she gets it straight it's not trained with Wilson two years up in San Diego so I know the caliber we're trying to work that arm now using the strikes trying to open up Wilson Hayes Hayes taking those right to the top of the head the forehead top of that that's probably where you'd want to take yeah this nice the most this is pretty much dead orchard without your arm in so there's a lot of arm bar variations you can do from here you can see been eddie consistently trying to get that arm ha been Eddie fighting out of ten planted freaks you can hear the champ Gio Martinez in his corner yeah Oceanside what a good crew they have down there [Applause] [Music] wow what a win for been any holy smoke shoes huge victory for bennetti against Wilson Hayes tonight beautiful floor tether in his cap and he gets it done he gives it under regulation via stoppage beautiful submission for the tenth planet product to make it official here is Bruce Buffer and we have a winner of two minutes 26 seconds like dead orchard men then any getting it done credit to Wilson Hayes for giving him a fights whoa combat jujitsu world's everything and more you thought it would be nice sign of respect by both of these guys then and he would have loved to been in the tournament but this win Kelvin just a sweet man well here's been any just holding on to his knees and his shin trying to get that triangle he stuck with it been and I think Wilson trying to get three he left that arm he was truck yeah he was trying to crush through the dead orchard but um Ben Eddy is such a ninja off his back here that's his home right there and he kept going for the arm kept going for the arm Wilson was really good at defending it but ultimately right here the extension can only go so far and you either have to tap her snap I mean look how tall and long Ben Eddie is Wilson Hayes postures all the way up Ben Eddie still on the floor he's like balancing on his head Wilson did everything he could to get away but it's hard to drag that man off of you when he's got your arm locked up like that yeah he was non-stop consistently going for that left left arm I mean Hayes is almost 100% vertical and Eddie's head is still planted on the floor and nicely done for the tenth planet product he makes his master Eddie Bravo very happy our special match in the books up next the bantamweight tournament finals cjj worlds Emperor wears no clothes he had this conspiracy theory that both his bigwigs they hear about empty making a comeback as now they have the decor Decatur machine that processes him Harry Anslinger was the first drug czar he was the one responsible for presenting in front of Congress with these newspaper stories that would completely fake smokes marijuana kills her children and then jumps out a window that brainwash they was saying marijuana made you kill people and people just kept believing it and I believed it I learned the truth really is a sacred plant you could do so much with it you could eat it it's medicine ETA's fuel clothing yep I met Joe Rogan in jujitsu and he was not into marijuana at all took like six months trying to crack his brain open I remember one time driving on the 101 South we start talking about it again and just pulls over let's smoke right now I go right now okay rattle the man back I don't pipe in it and you smoke we go right to Baskin Robbins please eating the Sunday and he was freaking on map night he did a set at the Comedy Store but I said hey it's my pot for the first time god damn I didn't know chocolate sundaes were so goddamn good the coolest thing about dr. sara in my opinion is that all their gear is made from hemp and dodd Cesana has devoted everything to bring in hand back to the people who once and for all I appreciate the are all synched to 10th planet headquarters located in downtown Los Angeles I'm Annie Bravo I hope to see you on the mats [Music] [Music] ladies and gentlemen it's time for our final matches the winners will be crowned the first ever come back to Jitsu world champion all about tonight are sanctioned by camo the California amateur mixed martial arts organization led by president Katie Steele our event supervisor and attendance it's Chris Brown referees in charge Mike Bell Vaughn and Jonathan Romero met side position dr. Vega and now this next match is competing and for the bantamweight hi all it but you say first representing heads or Gracie Academy tied bar Oh reowww [Music] and his opponent representing California mixed martial arts Chad savage gone [Music] the family side more Memorial chant this savage George 135-pound combat jujitsu gold is on the line r3 Jason Romero will oversee this contest I believe we have two very best bent which tonight going at each other this is this has been an awesome tournament so far from both these guys both have been having great outings in each of their matches and I know this is a grappling tournament but this feels like one of the biggest mixed martial arts events I've ever been involved this is really really great stuff here Chad Georgia has been on a mission he's wanted to get back to the finals I want to make a statement he said really I was injured in my first ever cjj tournament and that wasn't the best I could be tonight he has looked flawless yeah he's looking amazing made it to the finals again and you know he's gunning to get that win make history tonight George won his first round relatively quickly over trapping her with a dar stroke he tried to make quick work or share to Moran with the same joke but Moran was tough ultimately taking him to overtime so George has $5,000 in the bank like trying to rack up another one on his way to capturing cjj gold now that we're in the finals it'll be interesting how fatigue plays into this both guys have had great matches a lot of output a lot of energy so for memorial he got his first win over JM Holland via submission into overtime and then he submitted Nick pace with a leg lock in regulation trying to get deep on that arm is amore every second okay the wrestler Chad George nicely done more able to adjust okay beautiful explosion they were just calmly and all of a sudden exploding to that double leg don't forget our lightweight finals coming up a little bit later our rematch nathan orchard versus vogner hoja I like how you don't have to worry about the up too [Applause] that was woke up Memorial and ignored him for no mana 14 garden - Sakura I think everybody in this room felted this whole building [Music] facepalm right to the floor yeah he pulled leg right to him so he can slap it just as I'm saying well it's nice that you can't up kick it right I'll just down with that two and a half minutes little beyond that here in the regulation you got to be a dragon there if he's gonna just stick your hands out here Josh Barnett in the corner of chattin George a little fan getting impatient good things bad yeah side more might be a little bit hesitant going to his back right now after that shot it was home REO early against JM Holland that was landing insane hard strikes good double leg attempt attempt George's explodes with their seconds even when he doesn't get it you can see that momentum go through the body as his head went into the chest [Music] [Applause] Oh strike to the inner thigh yeah we're never getting hid inside the thigh just a lot more you know just kind of twirl his legs around I don't think we really caught George off guard but they did allow him to stand up and get back to his feet George hesitated just a little bit and Simon's a back Stanley about five and a half minutes remain here in regulation this for the first ever combat jujitsu world bantamweight championship teach you to Santa's Kelvin Gastelum Ben killaby Saunders inside Florentine Gardens kelvins getting into a shadow boxing yeah over here man sidebar see some eyes sorry man no you're good man that the sidewalk seems to really like the the leg sweeps trying to trip the legs out although I think he got a yelled about potential kicking in one of his last match you got to be innovative though with a guy like Chad George from that strong wrestling base more than just a tie-up that's gonna get chat on his back yeah no he's he's a very dominant wrestler so it'll be hard to take his back beautiful oh very very close and nice work by Jonathan Romero on off of the drag saved Maury oh I think from about a four-foot fall they're slightly lower tempo to this finals who from both of these guys both these guys had a really high output both their matches coming into the client and I think maybe a little bit more than just that to tell them it's been a flurry action there's a lot on the line that they've made it to the final they know there's one went away from money they're wandering away from immortality in combat ug to history yeah there's pressure and if they're good he wants to play card that's it they're being a little bit more okay clearly he'll actual about what they do you know they they definitely and I think that's a respect by both guys both have been very very productive in their matches earlier and you can't make a mistake with either of these men no no both these guys have been great sportsmen and showmanship Jorge kind of complained the referee though the maybe was getting kicked but the refs saying no he's just pushing minutes trying to make space with his legs no slap to the booty drop went in over the top when you can shuck the leg Memorial kind of trying to catch George off [Applause] let's go I'll start picking the pace up the more you able to stand three minutes remain here in regulation three minutes left for the winner of this match to walk out with $10,000 both of them have won finish in regulation to lock up another five grand they need to get a stoppage here in the next two minutes and 47 seconds she wants to get that money he's got to finish it yeah I think the most important thing that a night would be that title right there PAP stage yeah no one can ever take that away from you the first-ever combat Jiu Jitsu bantamweight champion let's sweep again there you go nice jab now and I'll take down the wall for you George [Applause] Jambu scores do not let him back up two minutes go ahead let him go let him try to work but grounder show George staying true to his name's being a savage out there yeah reset back and the center of the magic we've really seen that in both divisions both sides of the lightweight and bantamweight brackets these guys were using every inch allotted no kick no I was to the groin slap to the point hope he's learn to cook I don't know is that even allowed God it was uh it was talked about because whether or not you could use that as an advantage with a body triangle on the back right yeah we called it the cup in the spine a submission in its own right yeah Diamond Cup yeah Ivan salivary is really good at getting this body triangle in the back and submitted Tony freaking I think in the UFC with that Chad George trying to penetrate through sometimes the foot sweeps do hard to the shin though 54 seconds left an Oreo trying to frame up in omoplata gets top position out of it nicely done by sidebar an Oreo Gloria now the set up chop is back for a leg Chad George palm here 30 seconds remain haired regulation right there 41 for a leg [Applause] [Music] [Applause] 20 seconds remain in regulation ten minutes might not be enough for these two gentlemen go take down a tent I feel like that was the first time side Moore was on top right pretty much yeah hard to get on top of the rest [Applause] favorite inside Florentine Gardens coin flip looks will go on offense first year overtime periods yeah Chad George has been putting on a show all night I mean he's been entertaining the whole night crowds loving it yeah chooses the back each half of our over times our maximum three minutes George on the back of side Marham Oreo Chad George representing California mixed martial arts Moorea team hence Oh Gracie [Applause] [Music] [Applause] man I was quick he needs to submit quicker be man and I was quick lightning quick yeah we'll see what Mario wants he's gonna take the back always gonna go spiderweb all over who the cloud behind the savage cjj finalist came up short tunic on steam and now is seconds away from cjj bantamweight goal tick tick tick goes the clock sidebar Wario needs a miracle now trying to separate the arms it's a Wario with his leg the output [Music] [Applause] first-ever cjj Worldpanel a champion Wow well done very well done very well done by Chad door closing dollars richer is the savvy but his ex's name in combat jiu-jitsu history live it up Chad George tonight one of the biggest nights of your combat career he had a lot of hype coming in tonight and he delivered tonight it was awesome he has some of the best open pubs we've seen team embrace the former UFC heavyweight King Josh bar next tell me this is just slap fighting ladies and gentlemen it is not jiu-jitsu to the extreme chap the savage George you're a world champion live it up side Marham Oreo very game unable to get it done in overtime to make it official in the crown our champion here's Bruce Buffer look at Chad yards looking very emotional tonight my rear naked choke in overtime and the first-ever combat jujitsu world's bantamweight champion Chad Savage that's a huge moment wrong man dude that's a pretty belt we're about to taste back to meet you you can tell this man a lot oh yeah oh yeah to make it to the finals last time though short yeah and then come over here and win it tonight I mean he he put on a everything and anything is possible I've had a chance to call a lot of your mixed martial arts fights you fought all over the world tonight you're a combat jujitsu world champion where does this rank in the highlights of your career for many reasons this is one of the most monumental moments not only in my career but my life I have overcome so many different things to get here today and it's just lightweight gold yeah this is a rematch from EBI now they're going CJD world's rules in this rules my goodness the electricity inside Florentine Gardens Mike Beltran starts us off teacher two Santa's Kelvin Gastelum Ben killaby Saunders the cjj world lightweight championship on the line Nathan orchard in the black vogner hoja in the blue with gray last time back no show is able to e ease by but he's quick by a win over Nathan oranger who's able to win in overtime just rode out Nathan orchard he really had the control and you know we'll see if that match roja looks anything like tonight tonight is different strikes are allowed and Nathan or dirt is made use of those strikes really landing a lot of strikes it was like we go headbutt there or an extra don't know my son sportsmanship trying to sweep the leg out there is ho sure Circle Circle see if Nathan orchard tries an arm drag to the back or ankle pick again back we're a minute into regulation keep your eye on that clock at the fight does not hit the floor before the eight-minute mark there and shown then they'll be put on the floor part of the get down rule whoa put a hand fighting here by both gentlemen everything is a fight with Nathan orchard and down thank nourish I mean these guys both wanted Redemption the lot lot on the line here and what's so exciting to see it play out when they go head to head right there put their heads together you can see they're grinding it dog 20 seconds it's not a very comfortable see they're not making it enjoyable banger hoe sure I mean he's gonna try to go for a takedown here I mean both of the uh now orchard goes to the floor so now they'll get down rule don't even worry about that going on it gives up his back though does orchard almost running out of room Mike beltron bringing them back to the center very important here lose that position no my partner hosho know now all we see make an orchard try to get in the leg OSHA trying to fight off this leg lock the door trying to finish you told upcoming for OSHA submissions now tries to go on top back in that back position this was the position wrote that hoja had a few times on Gary toner when they met at a DCC neodo was able to roll a lot of it not weren't able to roll trying to get free oh oh oh go to the legs again Oh quickly just like cutting the bodies that guru rode your leg up when you get a moment like that strikes to the rug Nathan was fully committed to this he's definitely in on that toe hold here for we go [Music] [Applause] Nutella Jimmy he's gonna turn you know that almost off the mat can you feel it so much on the line Nathan orchard vogner host you're the winner first-ever lightweight champion at South DJ worlds here we go be yeah the fact that these guys already drove over I fought each other now they're here in the finals again trying to go for another title with money I mean the stakes are higher this time I feel I'll get in the standing position Mike Beltran restoring order attempt their way here we go this way you want that was a gift wrap that's it now you make them pay you know I know there's no judges but there was I mean winning this fight lots of problems through now you say partner to turn this into some more than just a wrap an orchard knock Moshe stats might be going his game going for it this is the final you know both of you guys found yourselves in the Ultimate Fighter Kelvin you want it what is it like getting to the finals because obviously it's another fight but it's the culmination of a lot of hard work these guys know that if they win this fight yes it's one fight but it's they're here because of two prior efforts and you etched your name in history there's more pressure because these guys are Frank from running they're fighting for a title for the first-ever cjj title these guys will ever forget I mean just being a finalist is a big deal but the glory walking out a wall championship nice right hand by the Brazilian HOSA another right hand yeah [Applause] [Applause] [Music] nicely done by nathan orchard for the back door but hit the back of the head belt Ron's telling them remember the trap remember Shalaby once is on drive related he's got nothing to defend his face my culture and warning banger Hoshi be careful back in the yeah not the back of the head now back to full mouth is ho sure it's trying to bump three is or unbelievable what an awesome show and still a show of respect from both little men oh my goodness 24 years to the date after the first UFC I couldn't think of a better tribute to wear mixed martial arts resilient jujitsu the combat sports world cjj world's edges its name honestly guys is one of the best grappling events I've ever seen without a doubt this has has been the best the best jujitsu competition I've ever been a part of or witnessed the first of many to come I promise you that vogner Xhosa get it done he stops Nathan orchard to make it official here's Bruce Buffer [Music] ladies and gentlemen the winner by the first-ever TKO at 7 minutes 26 seconds and taking home $15,000 our first ever come back to Jitsu world's lightweight champion Bognor Rocha [Music] choose win by Vagner Nathan is as tough as they come man these two guys literally put on a show the whole night I mean great great showmanship and entertainment yeah this was this these guys are fighting but they're entertaining and styles make fights there were two different stylists going at it but man we got to see a full mounted a TKO assault insane I was hoping we'd see what tonight I didn't think we see it yeah man and to win a title with it Wow when the finals win the title win 50,000 oh my god yeah he's gonna be partying that's you kill two birds with one stone you mentioned let's start there you've been a finalist before your finals tonight now your champion how much did you call upon the first match with Nathan orchard at EBI a few weeks ago and finishing him here in the finals I you know the last CBI PJ barge Issa and Nathan they kicked my butt and I think they made it very easy Harry to get that quick finish on because I [ __ ] areas before and he get that finished that way no no just like Gary and his team they're amazing and if it wasn't for those guys this is VI and you know of course Eddy as well wouldn't be popping the way it is so you know I got nothing but respect for them but you know they're rivals so no I wish Gary was here tonight I would have liked to Lance them with those slabs on hand but maybe we'll see that one of the future you get it done in the finals via strikes the first ever cgj competitor to get a TKO by ref stoppage what happened there that you thought hey I can actually finish this with strikes is there anything that Nathan did that you saw an avenue to victory with strikes our first match I finished the the match ended there and all right Hyup p.m. we're talking and he's like man I told him I said it was I'm bad broker and he smiled and laughed it was you're right he started [ __ ] it like crazy get out and I had that stuck in my brain I said if I came out thank you now healthy go I was really trying to push him at the back of the mountain said you really well with the back as well you know pushing the press and the NBA's wrestling I didn't anticipate everybody to wrestle me in the last epi that killed me I thought every was gonna pull card and play that game and everybody was like not my play bottom the day I turned a lot of rusty leading up to this and you know buddy went to play card tonight today belongs to you you get it done vogner it seems like your style of jujitsu is made for combat jujitsu what do you say to the other 155 pounders that are gunning for your title I'm here waiting and you know my jujitsu is what it is you know it's old-school it's you know back to the lineage you know being mean and so nice about what I do and I know that and I I liked it I liked hearing guys like you are in the commentating complaining about my style I love it and to me that's what I think you did too is that's how I learned so I bring the old school across and Gracie type kids who you know the smash and pass actually look for the soap there you go tonight you look for the striking finish and you got a congratulations dr. rocha your first ever cjj lightweight champion you meant there you go first finishing strikes you mentioned the old school I got to bring in one of the inventors of the Ultimate Fighting Championship 24-year good twenty four years ago today Horry and Gracie gamble McLaren art Davie so many put together UFC one and make Nichols arena in Denver Colorado and Maureen was here tonight if I get a few minutes with the legend bori and Gracie without you and 24 years ago tonight I don't know if we would be here you were here from the first match on what do you think a combat jujitsu when you launched the UFC 24 years ago it was to promote Gracie jiu-jitsu is to bolster it get it to the masses here in North America did you ever expect that we would arrive to something like this a grappling tournament that stands alone as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament this isn't mixed martial arts this is still about the art of course the essence of jiu-jitsu self-defense like I said I've been thinking about an event like this for a long time actually suggested this awhile back and I'm glad to see the guys I put it this happening now so it's good Laurene it's an honor to have you here tonight thank you for everything that you've done for the sport poor Ian Gracie ladies and gentlemen what a night we knew we would have history and we got it abandoned way champion Chad George a lightweight champion vogner Xhosa what's next for cjj worlds who knows we'll find out next year a sophomore in high school they really know much about martial arts or anything like that but I wanted to learn because it's something my dad didn't try myself fast forward about three months my coach need to train me a little bit he showed me the basis of Muay Thai but he put me in my first fight big surprise I didn't really know what to expect it was Gary's but it was already by tonight there was no backing out I had to go forward with it it didn't go well I took a beating he was tough I walked out of the ring that night not feeling great about myself my coach taught me down afterwards knee talk to me said I know deep down that you can beat that guy I know you don't believe it but I believe it and I don't want this to in the end of the book for you doesn't matter you can beat anybody I believed I didn't know I believed myself but I believe that he can help me get to where I wanted to go and 11 years later I've got five championship titles and things have worked out [Music] you you
