hello everyone uh tonya and i are out at the brazos bend state park uh it's uh new year's eve weekend uh and uh we decided that we were gonna do a review on our coleman weather master tent that we just recently purchased within the year and we've used it several times and so far we think it's a pretty good tent we paid 248 dollars for it on amazon it's a six-person tent uh it has a screened-in front porch which what we wanted and uh it works perfect for us it's got plenty of space and uh it's not too doesn't take us too long to set up so we just thought we would show y'all uh the setup process and then after we get it set up we'll uh walk you through it and show you all the features and uh what we like about it and maybe some things that we don't like about it so [Music] stick around and thank you for watching [Music] we purchased some of these uh extra tent stakes they're larger uh they're a little bit easier to hammer in and they're better for when you have strong winds and then another thing we did is we bought a piece of plastic this this queen from home depot that we use for we're using for a ground cloth just to help keep the bottom of the tent clean and protect it from rocks and sticks and things that might punch through the floor now that was the hardest part now you just basically just need to go around and button it up it has these quick clip onto the poles which is pretty easy you can also adjust it if you need to make something tighter or looser which is a good thing these poles are steel uh they're they're heavier than the aluminum poles but you know being that we camp out of a truck uh weights not really an issue they're nice and strong so we've got all that now what we need to know here's a couple more over here and that's basically it so once you get it basically put down you can go around and recheck to make sure that all of your the floor is you want to have it pulled tight so sometimes you have to make an adjustment here there and this tent right here is the only tent that uh i've ever had that actually has a door which makes things nice okay so the door has these smaller fiberglass poles what you want to do is lay them all out two of these go to the fly which we'll use to show you that later let's see so we have those two so the door has two uh holes the short one drops in this pocket right here and fits in that pocket and then you put that in there and you zip it up the second piece slides in here and basically goes around and then this piece goes in here and then now you bend it around put it down here and then it has a zipper can you zip that up voila the mighty door [Music] this door has an inside window that you can zip down and it also has a zipper that you can zip from inside or out and when you close the door it's got a flap it goes like that so if you do get any rain it keeps the rain out of the door so remember this is a six-man tent uh we like it just for us for two people uh we're able to fit a queen-size bed inside this tent with room on the outside and we'll show you that in a little bit it does come with a divider so if you do have a family you can put the divider up and the divider would go right here so it can become a two-man or two-room tent uh it also comes with an open roof you can put your fly over if it gets cold or if the weather does not permit you to keep it open plenty of sunlight if you like the sunlight these just open you can keep them open they can you can roll down your window and lock it here you have the pouch for phones anything you want to keep in here and you actually have one pouch and a second pouch here and then you have the front porch and david made a ground covering the ground covering won't come with the tent but you can make your own ground covering sit a couple of chairs once we finish we'll show you what it looks like now we're going to show you how to put on the fly you do need two people because of the wind we will kind of give you an idea of how to put on the fly so these this fly has these elastic bands that hook into this hole on the pole another thing that we have to do is undo this velcro and wrap it around the pole i think it does that in two spots and then i always like to uh stake out the fly it's not necessary but it does kind of help keep if you get into some high winds keeps everything tight don't forget to velcro each pole try to make sure that your your seams are lined up with the poles so the final is these last two fiberglass poles one nice feature about this tent is it has a little kick out on the fly so there's a pocket right here these slide in here and then there's a little tab right there and right here and it's a nice little uh kind of uh in case it is raining it gives you a little uh more protection over the door it also like a canopy for ventilation and there's one more on the other side the campsite we're at uh this weekend has electricity so we brought an extension cord uh and this tent has a little uh corner spot where you can run your cord through uh to plug it in and that way it's not going through any of your doors or windows that's a nice feature as well so this kind of gives you an idea of the space we really enjoy this tent because uh it's mostly just the two of us so when we put our uh queen size air mattress in here we have plenty of room to walk around uh we have some of our you know some of our gear in here uh we have a heater uh which would be nice because we actually have electricity here uh the door seems to work fairly well for getting in and out just like a regular door it has a nice flap to help keep weather out one thing that we did with this tent we've used it several times but we haven't been in the extreme weather yet as far as rain uh but i did get several cans of a it was a kiwi silicone based uh fabric spray and i sprayed about six cans on it on both sides of the fly and the tent just to ensure that if we did get into any bad weather uh we would have you know a little bit of extra protection but it is uh supposed to be so uh waterproof uh fabric we just went the extra mile uh the screened in porch works out well uh it's got enough plenty of space for two chairs and uh so it's almost like having a whole extra room uh so we really like that feature as well um as you can see it's uh fairly sturdy uh i always like to put all the uh guy wires on it uh just in case we get any uh tough wind uh so we we tie down the fly really well and uh here's the back of the tent has a nice window in the back and so that's basically it so there's nothing about this tent that we don't like uh like david said we've used it several times uh the only inclement weather that we've had was we were uh up on imogene pass we had to camp at the summit of imogene pass at 13 000 feet so that was a very windy experience but other than that we've really not had more inclement weather um but there's nothing that we don't like about this tent so far so far uh it takes us takes us about 30 minutes to set it up and it's it's it's not too bad it's it's nice to be able to set it up and use it uh most a lot of times we're just setting it up late and breaking it down early so we don't really get to spend a whole lot of time enjoying it but but it is easy to set up though for two people and uh hopefully in the nearby future we're going to have a small rv which which is great as well but this is nice to be able to uh you know we like to do a lot of off-road type overland camping and uh so we can just put this in the back of our truck and get on the trails and uh so we enjoy using it that way um but i'm sure if you look in some of our other videos you'll see it a little bit more as a bonus we're also cooking breakfast this morning [Music] we are ready to eat here shortly we're gonna cook the eggs and then we'll be ready hope you enjoyed our tent review of our coleman weathermaster tip thanks for watching and don't forget to
