COBRAS vs. PREDATORS | MLW Wiffle Ball 2023

[Music] well today might as well be called Wild Card Weekend because it is officially winner go home for these two squads the cobras and PRS are set to battle it out for the final playoff spot in the AL hello everybody I'm Kyle trps this is Tommy cogin we welcome you into The Meadows on a chilly day it's giving me postseason Vibes and it is a match up between the cobers and PRS whoever wins this series is advancing to the playoffs that's right and good news for the PRS they seem to be getting hot at the right time they are fresh off that sweep of the Wildcats they dominated from start to finish in that one Ryan Kord looking like the former MVP that he is both on the mound and at the plate he was tremendous in that one Rudy Ramirez played his best career series ever he is back at the Ballpark today along with Brennan Russell Alec Warda and Steven mlade and uh this is a confident Squad they're excited they're energetic today and I think I got my money on the PRS on the other side of things we have the cobt who are kind of sliding right now in slate three they got swept to the Eagles and in slate four in St Louis they lost two out of three to the magic so Losers of five or last six this team is looking for a spark to not only win the series but ignite them into the postseason a place obviously where they made a lot of noise last year where they got to SOI stadium in that World Series so at the field today they of course have drew Davis Sawyer BN both the baron ois they got Flynn pretty much everybody here so um they got all the pieces they just got to put it together and they got to execute throw strikes maybe have some timely hits as well that's always the key uh at The Meadows in some big games here but I want to go into the AL standing so you guys are fully aware of what's going on right now of course the magic are locked into that one seed my Wildcats we actually don't know if we're going to be the two or the three uh if the PRS win the series whether that's two games or three they will be the two and we will slide down to the three however if the cob win the series whether that's two or three games they will be the three seed no matter what and just like MLB the mlw playoffs are right around the corner that's right and folks final reminder next Friday October 6th we will be in York PA again for the U tournament and also our U7 national championship tournament that we are hosting around that Friday we're hosting our third annual Fan fest going to be a lot of fun doing some mlw Q&A some whiffle ball activities interacting with the that you've had a lot of recent success against in 2022 so what's the feeling like and approach today you know right now it's do or die for us we just kind of got to look into just winning two games it doesn't matter who we're playing or whatever we all just got to be hitting as a team playing as a team um I got to focus on just hitting the Zone with pitching and hitting we just got to work as a team like I said uh getting on base and just not playing selfish hero ball out there we got to be playing like a team and uh yeah if we do that I think we should be in the playoffs so all right I got cratch with me now you had a very successful last series how do you keep it going today with a new Squad and a new challenge ahead of you uh just trying to get in in the in the right mindset um you know last series doesn't matter everything uh everything today is what matters so postseason starts now for us we got to lock it in and play our best W ball cobes PR essentially a playoff series right now Sean Flyn a lead off whoever wins this series moves on whoever loses is eliminated here we go nice pitch from Ryan crash strike three looking no ball four Drew Davis walks got a piece off the pipe two away now for BN the Full Count pitch coming from cratch hardit to the left side B it's save at first Boby I think Sawyer beat it out anyways even if W would have caught that cleanly Davis goes to the third it's first and third for Flynn the top of the order we've got ourselves another full count the pitch from Ryan swing Miss he got him on strikes two seam off the 10 coob strand two and it's still scoreless headed to the bottom of the first hard hit Drew Davis in left field there's going to be a play out of play CR will get second hey there you go baby single in an error off the bat of Ryan crash to right field foul territory Flynn will make that grab the throw over to third not in time crash gets in there let's go baby moves cratch up one down guy on third shot in the center off the coping but crash will score Rudy Ramirez still searching for that first career Homer but he gets the PRS on the board it's one nothing in the first dude I just want one I just want one hard hit to the left side Drew Davis has a play yes sir he's going to have Rudy in a pickle and he tags him two down we got a guy on first now for crashed left center field Drew makes that catch that will end the inning but the Rudy Ramirez single brings in a run and it's one nothing after one going to miss nice pitch from Crash this kid has everything in the Arsenal working what a pitch from Ryan oh my goodness he is putting in a clinic his second half has been insane this is wild Sawyer gives it a ride Russell will make that grab jumping in foul grounds that will do it for the inning Ryan crash is on one today he is feeling it swing to miss Baron took some off there at 64 sits Russell down one down here in the second hard hit back to barosi the flip over to first got him Rudy is showing a lot of improvement here in this second half put a lot of balls in play nice pitch there from barosi on the drop ball strike three barosi with a nice frame there 1 2 3 go the FRS what a pitch from Ryan 66 off the metal swinging to miss he got him Ryan crash breaking out a new move he's break dancing on the turf today I have no other way to describe it shot to left field can Baron beat it out he's safe barosi to start off game two and now the PRS it looks like will go with mcglade here in game two lead off walking the first for Flynn swinging to miss he gets Davis 32 pitch from mle and he left it barosi with good eyes there first and second for BM come on6 nice pitch there from a Glade Riser off the pipe strike three two down for [Music] Flynn and he left it Ball Four Coes have him loaded here their hitter will be the two hitter Drew Davis with two outs big spot from a Glade big spot for Davis's go this is a battle go in a huge [Music] spot swing his he got him on the high cheese strike postseason down they win game two 4 nothing after an underwhelming first half and a scorching second this team is back to seven and seven on the year they have clinched the number two overall seed and we'll play the Wild Cats in the ALDS game three coming up right now that'll do it for the Cobra season but the PRS have won five in a row check this out guys Ryan cratch taking the mound in a quote communication what a pitch from Ryan crash strike three the Freds win and that completes a perfect second half for the Pacific Predators they were once 2 and seven and now stand at 8 and S they have clinched the two seed this series and we'll play the wild cats like I said in the ALDS six straight wins in dominating fashion at that Ryan crashed with one of the most unbelievable second has we've ever seen on the three straight shutouts from Predator pitching [Music] today my goodness you PRS are on a roll this is this is one of the craziest things I've seen in this league just starting two and seven I mean we've seen teams struggle before and then and then surge later on but a perfect 6-0 for you guys I'll go to the captain first take me back to when you were 2 and seven that conversation you were having with all the guys and what really sparked you guys to turn it around uh I don't know just still believing you know um we we knew we were going to come alive we we had the capability it was just I don't know things felt a little off starting starting out so we just we just kept leaving in our elves kept believing in our guys switch the line up a little bit and um you know little things like that can really make a huge difference so yeah we just kept believing love it and Ryan dude I've never seen someone have so much fun and just experiment and look like a Harlem Globe trer out there with all the tricks you're doing out there just speak to how much fun you're having right now I mean I think I've uh I've said it for years I think that's the most important trait in the Predators game is Just when we go out there and we enjoy ourselves uh in the first half we definitely weren't having as much fun as we are now uh that's what led to the World Series in 2019 so we hope to repeat it love it PRS finish the season at 8 and 7 my cats are 7 and 8 we will face off in the ALDS a lot of exciting postseason games come to the channel soon so stay tuned for that that
