Cleaning Antique Dug Bottles With A Bottle Machine

these are typical Doug bottles with a bottle machine you could make these bottles look like new here's my machine that I use to clean the bottles with this particular machine was made by Wan Lowry here what turn it [Music] on here's some more dug bottles this is a coke bottle from about 1910 this is the bottle we will clean as a demonstration of what bottle machine can do and get rid of lot of this old nasty stain okay here's the bottle we're going to clean as you can see it's very stained this is a cylinder we're going to put it in these are the plugs that will go in the cylinder that will hold it in place this is the way they go inside the cylinder like this we have to put some of the copper this is your cut copper wire right here that does the polishing and we got to put some inside of it now that we got the copper inside the bottle about half full let to put some water in it and now we're going to put some Polishing Compound this is a very fine Polishing Compound this will go inside the bottle with the water and the [Applause] copper now polish the inside now we're going to put the bottle down inside the cylinder put a cork in it before I put it all together to keep Copper from get more copper getting inside of it when I pour the copper inside here we pour the copper on the outside here's the cylinder with a bottle in it and the copper and water in it and we're going to have to add some Polishing Compound to this okay this is a coarser type Polishing Compound we'll put this on the outside the [Applause] bottle and here we are ready to put the plug in it okay here's our cylinder already nice and tighten down the plug here's our machine put it on the roller here's the switch we already got another bottle I'm running two at one [Music] time this is the way it looks I have the pulley set at 60 RPM that figures out over I'll run these bottles about 3 days in three days they will turn over 260,000 times that's over a qu of a million times here's a bottle I just took off the machine to show you what it can do this bottle is very heavily stained and here's our Coke bottle that we cleaned you can see looks much better although cleaning will not take off everything like on this bottle has some case wear and some scratches cleaning will not take those out and sodas tend to have a lot of that kind of stuff on them but much better
