Cleaning Along Pond Edge and Kayaking

hey buddy it's john with upstate brush control we're here in greenville south carolina doing some work around the pond what we got today is uh as you can see we got a big fallen pine out there that's the that's a big pond here it's also this neighborhood's storm water pond as well and so we got this big fancy neighborhood big fancy houses and everything and this is their storm water pond and a pond that's old farm pond is really what it is but we got that old uh pine right there that's falling all across the dam and uh they want to get that cleaned up and kind of get a little bit of this edge kind of wrapping up around that corner cleaned up as well so um we got kind of a late start here today we had some stuff we were working on at the shop and wrapping up some other jobs so we got over here and uh got the guys going showing them what what's going on so they're quite a bit of hand work along the pond here just because it's an old old farm pond and the top of it is not very wide at all um it'd be kind of sketchy we could probably get a skid steer down it but as far as like doing a bunch of mulching on it it's really too narrow for that so what we're going to do is we're going to take a lot of that material and we this is uh this is all common area of the hoa so i'm going to mulch all this down through here and then we're going to take a lot of that material down there and move it up here and grind it up we uh the guys are up here getting getting at it with the pole saws cutting a lot of that material out [Music] so there were some low hanging limbs here they went ahead and got those those willows we are going to actually pull those out once those pulled out um anything else we can pretty much just go ahead and cut those wheels they just come back with such a vengeance and they have such a bad root system on them as far as damaging the dam so they said pop them out of there because it's no big deal so we're gonna get rid of those so i'm gonna hop in the skids here mulch this area down right here and then we'll hop in the excavator and pull some of that up to here so uh yeah we shall see how this goes what you got there micah oh you know i'm just slicing myself open and i also got fishing strings stuck in here usually call it fishing line fishing line and the knot has a spin so that's good oh yeah she's jamming they're good so i just happen to look over here and this little cover thing was all dangling down here so uh yeah thank goodness we didn't lose that and nothing got up in there that's the motor right there little access panel to take the air uh oil filter off so i'm gonna see if i can't find another bolt like this and uh get that thing back on there because that would not be good stick go up in there and damage something all right got that uh that i just got i only found one extra bolt i actually dropped it off another panel back here but uh what i caught that that would have been a bad day for sure so ah what's going on it has been one of those weeks possibly the worst week i've had in a long time every job that i had scheduled step one we're supposed to do about four jobs this week a total of five jobs they're supposed to be five jobs this week every job i had scheduled all but one we ended up doing the other ones the customer wasn't ready they wanted to wait i tried going up there i got sick we had to postpone it it has been one of those weeks tough week but that's all right we're getting through it we'll be okay this is just out into it this is just part of this week like that cover usually we uh we don't run into this many issues and scheduling issues are usually aren't that bad but this has been one of those weeks for sure i mentioned i got sick i don't remember last time i got sick and i wasn't able to work sometimes that happens i don't know if the hose didn't get released properly or or what whenever i took it off but i'm not able to pop right on right now ah oh my stars well that was ridiculous area like i was hoping so josh is moving it up here a little bit farther out of the way or up the hill for me um pretty much everything's off the the dam the top of the tree broke off out there we got a little kayak back at the shop gonna have to do some kayaking and get that thing out there bring a rope or something and get that thing cleaned up tomorrow but um and then guys are just going through doing trimming and hand work it's a little too risky to put the mulcher head on that so we're just going to do hand work on on that part of the dam uh even through here it's pretty uh uh pretty steep a lot of this is gonna have to be done by hand wouldn't be that bad except there's water there and we don't want to end up in the water we don't want that to happen so uh they're getting this stuff josh getting this stuff moved up and he's gonna go down and get some more material i'm gonna start grinding up this [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] got pretty much from here all the way back up through there besides the one uh that guy over there they're gonna bring the kayak out here and fish that out tomorrow so other than that just this kind of little area right here and then you know we got to get that grass and stuff along that edge but um they're going to be here another 30 40 minutes probably and then they're gonna head out too but um [Music] he's probably gonna untie it then he's just gonna grab it real quick [Music] [Music] [Music] all right there we have it have a nice clean lake no distractions from the view did get rid of a nice bass habitat but i don't know if these nice folks fish around here because pretty fancy houses i should have brought my pole i totally forgot would have cast it a couple of times but we was gonna bring it up there and grind it up and then we got we'll probably cut that one wheel over there and i think that's about it we're gonna pull all that stuff up and then we'd eat yeah get out of here all right so as you can see we got everything out from down there all the materials out all the willow's out it's all up here i got a little pile just past that pine tree that i'll have to move again um but work is a good a good block so i don't throw into that yard or anything like that so i'll mulch this up and we'll keep going [Applause] so [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we're gonna go through real quick pull anything else up by hand that needs to get out clean up this little crap fill it up there and uh probably pull some of that more into the middle so it's easier to grind and i'll finish it back off and we'll finish weeding and we'll be out of here all right got it wrapped up um got the dam cleaned off and then got all this cleaned up looking pretty fresh looks pretty fresh this lady right here came out she's like you look so good you opened up my view so that's always good to hear so now they can see straight down to the pond here willie's packing up putting as much of the stuff as we can on the cutter edge we don't have to carry it out so he's going to go down first then we'll bring the excavator and then break out our tracks so i'm probably gonna hop in the mini and then take this rut cutter out we didn't end up using it but then the old kayak that doubles as a storage unit here put all the trash and gear in there so yeah it's looking good got it wrapped up here it's looking pretty good fish sorry so we went ahead and brought the mini up to the road so when we come back all we have to do is load it up so yeah we really try to do our best not to tear the grass i mean we obviously have to turn a little bit but we try to go straight in straight out try not to turn on the grass just because we don't want to mess people's grass up and then we'll go back with a blower and a fluff up the grass trying to make it look like we never came kind of thing so yeah got the mini ready to go right cutter it's all locked up willie's getting all the junk out of the kayak and strapping it down drop it down take the shot come back get the excavator and then we're gonna go fuel the machine and grease it and get ready for because we
