Clawfoot Tub Makeover by Tubmaster

[Applause] [Music] [Applause] okay we're buying the sandblaster 22 minutes is what a Turkish and lasses nasty-looking thing you can save yourself some time and energy can spend anywhere from 55 to 75 dollars to have this sandblasted as to what it looks like when it's all done yeah a problem x-rated get my job [Music] [Applause] I like to use a satin exterior not far makes a good paint this we're using the seven make sure your vows for Duramax it's a good paint to use I like to contrast with a satin paint versus the shiny shiny type on the inside of metal example we'll go to here in just a minute and show you what it looks like okay we're just about having the first coat let this dry overnight put another coat on tomorrow okay we've got the outside done we had a little problem with the color this was the original color that the customer picked out got looking at it and it was a little bit too blue we thought so we ended up going with a little darker color and this is what we came up with all right we're going to scrub this down okay we're getting ready to do the acid that's on this okay you've got all the ends on this back though but when you get ready to rinse it off so put the mask back on I'll be back here in just a minute you can have a rinse the cut off that we rinse the young Hafidh edge off okay that's what the tub looks like after it's been inched it's all washed clean scrapped and rinsed off okay we're going to fill this in it may take two or three different times to fill it to get it to smooth out and look like it's supposed to look all right just what this tub looks like after the first first sanding of the bottom and skim coat and then we got the primer I mean the UM spot putting on this other part cuz it's got some real bad spots here I'm going to spot putting this entire inside edge of this tub this is what it looks like right now I'll show you what it look like when it's all sanded off but here's where that big chip was before it's been all filled in and smooth rest of the tub has been sanded it's all ready for primer all that green specks and spots that's where we had bad spots and low spots in this tough the overflow is all filled in now bottom is all sanded this tubs ready for primer primer now all the spot pattern all the bottom has been down on this tab this is what the stuff looks like after get cut the bondo treatment we're getting ready we're going to put a non-slip surface in this customer so they don't slip okay this is after the first coat of primer has been put on got about four more coats to put on to get everything to cover [Music] shut up in the primer we're going to get ready to send up to the top [Music] okay this is the finished product on the inside of the tub did four coats of acrylic enamel and this is what they look like when you get done with a nice bright light shining okay after we filled it in the overflow and do the touch-up on the outside now okay this is the third coat to cover that front where we made that overflow repair to disappear make it disappear Oh [Music] [Music]
