CLASSROOM SET UP DAY 1 | First Grade Teacher ✨

[Music] hi guys welcome back to my channel today is super exciting because i am at my school and i am doing my first day of classroom setup so today is a thursday and my pre-planning starts on monday so they let us come a couple days early if we wanted to start setting up our rooms so i decided to and i'm excited i know that this year is going to be different and it's going to be odd and challenging in ways that no teacher knows i'm still excited if you don't know i am a first grade teacher last year i taught kindergarten so this will be a change for me in so many ways i also just moved so this is a new school to me a new grade a new team and i'm very excited to be here and i'm so excited to start this year um also my county has decided to start virtually which i'm excited about just because i think it's the safest choice this classroom setup is going to be prolonged i'm not going to be doing like the fastest classroom setup and also i'm sure i'm going to have restrictions with my classroom set up so we will see what those are as we go on yeah i'm super excited and i wanted to bring you guys along today so let's go inside okay friends we are in the room so i'm gonna give you a quick look at what it looks like now and then i'll tell you my game plan for today okay so there's the door when you come in and there's cubbies we also were gifted some wobble seats which is awesome we have the carpet which i don't love but it's fine um the board another board some cubbies the bulletin board you know some random furniture there's these bookshelves back here that i'm gonna use for my library this big space computers another bulletin board and this is like dividing wall so i really want to put like a library back there but i've also been told we probably can't have libraries this year so we'll see if that happens um and then this counter space my kidney table all the chairs all the desks that's my closet that's the bathroom the hanging and the door so that's what we have going on okay so here's the game plan i want to do the furniture and also i came if you remember in a vlog early in the summer i came to the room and i got to drop all my stuff off well they've changed my room so now i'm in a different room so i have to get all my stuff from the old room but luckily it's literally right next door so i'm going to do that first because it's raining outside so i don't want to go out to get stuff from my car i want to stay in from the rain so i'm going to get that stuff and then make a furniture game plan so here we go do [Music] okay so i have moved some of my stuff in but i need to find a dolly for the rest because it's all pretty heavy and they're all being used right now so we'll do that later but it's time to move the furniture [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] do [Music] [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Music] so [Music] do [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] okay so this is how my room looked at the end we have the mailboxes on the cubbies i put up my shine bright banner and some magnets the carpet's still the same over on this side i moved my kidney table hung up a little last name sign got my tool box cleaned my bins put out the wobble seats that whole area is looking okay all the way over here i started my library today this was probably the biggest thing i got done put all my book bins out i was able to snag that display shelf which was awesome my computers still look the same my desks still look the same this area pretty much looks the same i just moved the table away and added more stuff to the counter i have some bins outside the closet i didn't touch the closet today so nothing in there is mine and i've just made piles guys i'm done with my first day of classroom setup it went pretty well um so this if you don't know is my second year teaching and i kind of forgot how long classroom setup takes it definitely is something that you think is going to be not as long as it is and everything just takes longer than expected um so i do feel happy with what i got done today but of course i wish that i had gotten more done just because i know there's still a lot left to do so um yeah i really hope you enjoyed watching my first day of classroom setup thank you so much for watching if you haven't already make sure to subscribe hit that like button so that way other teachers can see these videos and leave a comment because i love talking to you guys okay keep spreading positivity i will see you tomorrow [Music] you
