[Music] we're gonna draw tips for the first [Music] round [Music] hell yeah brother you're on the policeman for on youtube channel ladies and gentlemen welcome to the christmas tree world championship race hosted by yours truly please mcfarland last week i posted on facebook that i wanted to have the ultimate christmas tree showdown 16 car field thousand bucks to win just to sweeten the drive a little bit for some of these people and we have all the way from high eight second cars all the way to a six second car in the field so the only rules for the race are you have to have a minimum six foot tall christmas tree on the roof of your car and if it comes off your dq now the only other rule to go with that is the tree has to have working christmas lights on so it's you know really relatively pretty simple rule and i can see there's already some guys here working the gray area but we're gonna go around meet all the drivers and then we're gonna do a 16 car field showdown show you guys the whole race see who comes out on top we'll end with ruby let's go talk to the competition now see who's trying to win this thousand bucks and also bringing the christmas spirit because my mom is coming today with a christmas spirit award and a grinch award so we're gonna see who's the grinch come on all right we're gonna start with the big dog this is a six second car guys we're standing here with rick prospero and can you tell us a little bit about what you've got set up here uh it's basically a 90 mazda rx7 it's a 540 inch big block chevy uh 288 kilometer turbos yeah two of those things yeah i have one of those well i figured i had enough room under the hood so we can stick another one okay all right we gotta verify your rules here sure that's easily a six foot tree you've got the lights yes sir do you think this crap's gonna be enough we got our we got it pretty secure and uh so guys right now the christmas tree speed record stands at 181 miles an hour officially and uh this car what's the fastest mile an hour you've been uh 205 205 mile an hour so we're hoping to unofficially take the record tonight we'll do it what's your fastest et event uh quarter-mile we've won that's going to pass tech i'm not yeah that's funny people were like oh that should be dq'd guys you can say that kind of stuff all you want it's not going to bother me that is a live tree oh jeez oh is it not strapped well not because of the trunks open okay so we have a tree saw you measured in your video six feet it's it's actually seven really working in the gray area really really great area as much as everyone hates it it passes the rules i see you try to pizzazz it up with a little extra christmas spirit but just judging by the tree he might win the grinch how many other people have broadway here what size turn ski we're working with that is a 45 millimeter turbo oh we're not growing we're not graduation my bad this is a 102 millimeter gt55 forced inductions turbo okay it's basketball gt5 based uh 111 millimeter turbo ls no it is that we just snapped it on we take it off you want to look at it this is actually a gen 1 small block chevrolet 23 degree heads uh nascar crankshaft 3.34 stroke that's enough wow right there a little teeny see it's got some dill it's got some freedom the lights are looking good yeah we we're not going to be fast like the cap on the truck for aerodynamics right there that's tricky yeah this is awesome all my crew's here with me they've done a good job we're going to get any of our wives with us we all failed to help them decorate at the house but we decorated the car so i mean it's awesome though kind of wondering how that worked out yeah now it does have a holley efi on it um we might get some uh some cleaner tuning 23 degree heads but it has got cold on plug on it so you know ls it's the it's the ls daddy is what john doc gave it to me yeah yeah so we got the bills [Music] we had to make sure nothing interfered with the efficiency only with lights though trying to like get curious so we got between two cars we've got 2500 likes so it's 2500 lights feeding both cars wow dude i have not seen the lights in the mountains into the engine bay so we're wrapped around the fuel rails and the actual engine but i mean what can the cal narrow around in the corner you think if i haven't run quarter mile on this thing in like six years so the fast i've been before is 880. i run like only eight mile now so if it goes like mid eight to bottom eights i'd be pretty happy with it so i'm not quite sure and then you got here sandbagging really bad like eight sixties all right all right the vet here has got the same internet as my race car so it's pretty stout okay uh whose car is this this is uh chris my business partners all my stuff okay he said bring it down here and run it we've actually never run the car we made a couple like wave skate hits so what trans it's got a power glide uh it's a 427 twin 78s oh it should be like a 2300 horsepower holy crap we'll see we'll see which of these cars runs one is technically an alternative thanks john doctor thank you check out this channel unbelievable oh joy hell these some upgrades over the weekend though oh really new term ski new intake i'm gonna have to tell my mom to give him i think you're legal we'll let him race this might be a solid contender just that's got to be being that stood up and with the painting let's say it's an extra half a second off the bt cj did a burnout earlier over at freedom factory spicy burnout big walk around how's it going what's the engine set up on this truck uh the engine is a texas speed rotating assembly 370. okay cool can we take a look under the hood is it easy yeah yeah i didn't come up you got the jaclyn's beef jerky train on it i'm loving this look at the details this is some detail this looks like my mom's house all right cool hello including the motorbike twin turbo ls steel yup twin 78.75 it's a lot of turbo it's a lot of turbo a lot of turbo you got under there yeah thank you dude your chris your freaking headlights are blocked purely out yeah we need a spirit we might have to undo those dark it gets here dude oh it's looking good man the lights are just pristine dude look at this wow looks like they actually custom made this yes that's commitment man i'm really dude look at the train tracks we actually hot glued the train set to the wing okay so we're hoping she stays on uh the track is glued we might have to zip tie that pull the train off okay all right trick is you gotta have the 240 i've beat him before last three times he raced i beat him on the tree and the last time we raced i did beat him flat out still hasn't ran his five laps because you know you never beat the car you might have beat the tree because i didn't want to lose but if i see you out there today we're gonna talk about our deal we got what's our deal if we get paired up it's a hundred dollars on the tree bonus oh you gotta do everything lock it in okay all right history barely legal barely legal i've already checked it his lights barely work it's six foot what is the christmas spirit i remember you got a train a couple lights off the house if i wanted more lights i'm shooting so every race week we've been on has been with this fella and you drove all the way down how many miles you drive uh it was like 14 hours 14-hour drive wow look at how magnificent that is something's going to lean hard and uh right now he's an alternate just came down for i mean yeah we did have a motor in there a couple of days ago so uh it's a good excuse to scramble hopefully at the very least you get a maker yeah well i think uh doug and i might when he gets knocked out we might do some stretch between okay so we'll hopefully get to see this run but he is dialed in we're gonna have to get a measurement on that tree it's it's it's exactly six feet it's right there right there and i see the light though we got different uh battery packs this is the lightest combination oh wow wait wait here we go okay oh man this is clearly the lightest combination is the rule book allowed this can't get lighter than this beautiful falcon we have here beautiful now brett i know this thing hasn't made many runs it's at zero zero actually so zero you're probably the least tested in the class but it came out should be 750 to 800 on this pulley okay so i mean it's enough to spin the tires okay definitely uh eight or nine second capable car yeah that's pretty good so good luck hope you get your personal measly 91 millimeter it's not as good as your 88 but it's even though the numbers are bigger i'll trade you want to trade cardboard listen i got a bigger engine bigger turbo so you know kevin's gonna downplay his car but i'm gonna go on record and say it's just as fast as another black no-time car that's here won't name any names but you guys can figure that out i heard some rumors those guys like cheating up the rules a little bit vacuum bagging stuff yeah i don't know dude what's going on with that spirit all that yeah my tree will be it's fully extended i almost said something else it she's gonna be dragging though i'm not worried about that hopefully the parachute clears it i haven't tested that part of it that's good fire me up dammit this is great that is amazing even better if it wheelies it goes the other way so it doesn't it doesn't hurt uh it doesn't bring all the bend all the tubing in the back of the car no way incredible the ingenuity we're seeing out here folks i got a real treat and i went back in time okay that's the leds here but i got some og fluorescent bold lights on here you know what i figured have to take her back in time a little bit there we go not only do we have the wreath on the turbo got our 88 millimeter turbo for our tech speed 427. we got a little bonus tree on the back little extra bonus for you back here a little bonus so honestly i expected these bulbs to be individually lit there's just one bulb inside a little disappointed in that hey i'll take it whatever so my tree's pretty sturdy i tried to get a really big tree but it fell through the day before the rain so i ended up with this really crappy tree the last minute but she's dialed i'm gonna hopefully catch tip on fire when i go to make my run so that is the goal we'll see how she holds i'm going to tighten it a couple clicks make my head okay so tree has to be attached and lit and you have to make it down the track and back with the tree still attached your tree is coming off or it falls off yeah it needs to be attached to the car when you get back and lit people down there to make sure huh you have people down there yeah we have one person your opponent sees you okay if your tree comes off you have to get out to fix it before you drive back you're out yeah it's a christmas tree race let's have some christmas spirit we're gonna just kind of monitor the track we don't know a lot of guys have fake trees so we're in good shape but like pine needles and stuff we just kind of gotta visually see it if you guys see anything or you know you guys don't fly off your car let us know and then victor is in charge of the race so don't come to me if you have a problem with your opponent come to victor yes don't yell at me because i'll go back really quick my yeah we talked about this oh yeah [Music] it has been over 200 mile an hour multiple times in the quarter he just went a 690 i want to say a 181 yeah so if he can go one more mile an hour faster he will take the record for the fastest christmas tree attached to a view do you think that'll happen now oh 100 i already talked to him i i heard he turned it up just a hair over here we got another her built up on the boost that's fine it's all right this tree is now still up right you know eight nine he's at 150 miles an hour that tree is just still there still a winner in my heart how do you feel now the official unofficial fastest guy to ever go fast with a christmas tree 201 miles an hour it's awesome awesome feeling great event that's really neat you really need to set this up and you let out a little early a little early yes trying to go 205. 205. i hope this will go around let's see what happens 692 at 201 miles an hour with the tree off and it's staying on there good does it feel totally normal yeah yeah my car isn't really different yeah well done thank you appreciate it rick prospero yeah absolute legend what do we got here jack stand we got our boy jim braun up against the fastest car on the property that just went 692 at 201 with a christmas tree attached to his room so a little outgunned but he is going to give it a talk little outgun gotta give her all put her there i hear them my track is sticking [Music] yeah so he got a little out of shape on the left lane there for a second and you know he could have a chance to catch him but he got it gathered back up and got back in it and drove away from him so jim just got added on that fast but still 187 mile an hour with a christmas tree on its roof i think it's just good well folks the curse is not over broken belt we just noticed when we got back and we're pulling back up so what we're doing is we're charging ruby off of this truck and just going to try and build up her battery strength she's sitting at 12.2 volts and we will make the run with no alternator and we have an electric water pump so we're good there with the tree and the electric fuel pump electric water pump it draws so much on poor ruby hopefully we can make it down [Applause] hmm got the og christmas lights oh we're at 10.9 volts guys bad news [Music] oh lights are off lights are off so oh man we're at nine and a half volts i wanted to go so bad i freaking randomly i tried to juke him by rolling into the lights but he ran it like a freaking book dude he got me i got the jump on dude dude the thing is he didn't see you go right did you hear it next to you oh he he eventually came around me i didn't have an alternator belt so i was like nine volts want to turn my fuel pump on because my voltage is running so low i was like i'll creep in but i went in too far so then i blew through the beam like i was right on the edge of the beam versus where i usually sit it's consistent but i was like i was already at 9.8 volts before we left so i was like i heard the fuel pump and i looked down and it's just flashing out because it's got that warning light and i was like oh shoot all right what's your take on this dude uh you know i'm gonna go ahead and put my dollar on an rx7 because i'm not an idiot if that thing makes half a way of a good pass it's gonna win but the mustang you know one thing's got better
