Christmas Market Street Food Munich, Germany | Marienplatz

greetings and welcome to Munich Germany called mune Han in Japanese and yes we're here at the Christmas markets which flicker with light because of the frequency hi everybody we're live here and marienplatz in Munich this is Kenai and we've come here we've come here to eat last night we were here at the market pretty much with viewers from only in Japan pretty much drinking because the lines for food were so long at that time so we decided to come back a little bit after lunch it's now around 3 p.m. here in Germany to eat and we're gonna try several different foods so join us will ya as we go from place to place check it out I think that this is an amazing place Germany and it's not just Munich but just markets all over the place you just could feel the vibe Christmas it's that spirit to it I don't know it's hard to you can't really tell from the images you have to feel it by being here because it's cold it's about minus 1 degrees Celsius right now it is sunny we have a beautiful view beautiful skies and up there I believe is City Hall and on the hour I believe it's every hour at least we saw it at 12 o'clock these figures up there will dance and move to music and it's really beautiful sight to see a lot of the tourists like us we were here we hope you are watching from down here cuz I was snapping pictures it's a very very good part of Munich welcome everybody all right so what should we have first we are not going for any spiced warm spiced wine we're going strictly for food this time let's see here how about some sausages first yeah the warm spiced wine by the way is called bluevine blue wine I know very well because it's written in like 12 different signs on that if you're on that streets on that stand over there and it's flickering just because of the frequency of the electricity it doesn't normally flicker like that and we get a lot of people telling us what we should be trying and good that's the spirit because it's time to eat all right we went to and definitely check out that video from last night we went to three different areas of the city and each market has its own personality the last one was like a medieval Market and the medieval Market was well they keep it dark because I guess it was the Dark Ages maybe was before the medieval ages they called the Dark Ages yeah are you done with that my turn almost like it's still asks where did you get your gloves this is turned into a fashion show oh it's from her mum yeah maybe in Japan one of the really beautiful things about the market it's not just food you can get toys ornaments for Christmas trees all sorts of decorations dolls hats on the left side you can see there's a hat store might get a new hat from there yeah these are cookie cutters yeah there's some ornaments here on this side they're very German looking look at that that's so so Christmasy it's a Christmas Eve but morning everybody on the east and west coast in the United States it is now getting to what 315 here in Germany 310 as we're walking down towards oh wait we can either go left or right can I this is why the markets go way way beyond the plaza here it goes left right and then even right and center all right let's go Center because there's that there's a couple of things that you wanted to try over here we tried this thing it was bread we tried this thing yesterday it was just like bread with sauce on it and had some meat and we'll see if we can find it here this one smells so good - oh the desserts over there remember yeah yeah something like that hey guys all right queues up it's a very small queue because we're quite early quite early usually the festivities start like at around 8 p.m. and when you get closer to 10:00 I'm surprised it gets crowder the later it gets but it's three o'clock and there's just enough festive festivity where there are people out drinking and and warm milk right now what can I was going in for oh she's got it she's got it she's got the warm milk I didn't know this was a thing [Music] yeah Jonathan I am putting on some weight it's mostly from India because my family was feeding us I don't know any dia we eat right before bed to like rice right before bed and there's nothing I can do about it Santa Claus is big but he he lose his weight when January comes around so I think I'll be okay I can I has gotten her a cup of milk if we look to the left there are stands to drink your milk and the cool thing about this is that the milk comes not in a cup I like the fact that in Germany they're very green and I don't know if that's the reason why but you would pay a little deposit for the mug and then this way you don't waste paper look at that actually I do like that mug yeah I look at the reindeer you don't even I just put the presents on the reindeer and send them out all right warm milk nice everybody does speak English she's big English yeah she spoke English right oh she did yeah she spoke English everybody speaks English out here a lot of tourists all right Pony it up Jonny boy needs some milk Wow that's not just milk it has kind of been sweetened a little bit oh honey milk oh and it's so cold out here you can see it just want to jump in and take a milk bath just pour this all over there you go it's so good as it gets darker outside the lights are starting to come on in some of the stands and all that European ambulance I remember as a kid watching movies from Europe and saying why do the police cars and the images have a different sound as in the United States and nobody could answer me this is Munich for everyone who's watching Munich Germany Kanye and I are going home back to the United States to visit my family the long way we're taking the long way so we went via Sri Lanka so it would be a Sri Lanka India Dubai just to change planes and then now we're in Munich tomorrow we fly to Paris and then Iceland and then New York and then we fly back to Japan so it's kind of neat to go the other way once I always go across the Pacific and went across the Atlantic good all right yeah let's finish this up part 2 part 3 oh really wait you have to return it or can you keep it it's 3 euro for the deposit but I think it's really good I stopped drinking Coca Cola and soda pop at 7-eleven and stuff because I noticed that I didn't really care about the sugar I just wanted the bubbles so I inside of it here's the menu just to give you an idea it's 0.21 liters for 5 euros and there's a Wiese that's for a rote obese I think it's a white beer that's 5 euros alcohol Frey I don't I can't I don't know what any of this is that 2.1 liters for 5 euros a little bit it seems a little pricey but totally worth it Duke's up yeah well there you go there's the menu people seem happy about it smells good but it's just so clean and well setup it's so open and I love the fact it's Munich is very much like Japan in the way that you can this is the ornaments Lenny here we here you can walk the streets drinking alcohol and it's it's fine and that's the same with same way in Japan is this it oh this is the cookies that they told us to get they're like cookies but they're not but you're not supposed to eat them right that's read off you're not supposed to eat these but we were told that we should get some of these oh and they also have almonds here as well that was a nice Christmas present last year a Olympus camera she's taking it with a 20 millimeter Panasonic lens cuz it's a lot better than the kit lens that came with it for anyone who's wondering the camera bodies is not as important as the lens the lens is always the most important part of the camera just throw that out there kit lenses are not quite as good all right well I was just this is it right oh no that was it this one okay I don't know for Allah sometimes they don't let let filming in here but can I go ahead and get the ornament Leni this is the one that she wants to get it's really pretty they're dancers do you see that like ballet dancers you see them it's really pretty and since Kenai is a dancer we're gonna get that too okay hold on I guess they're allowed to take pictures okay it's twenty-year-old and then back to Japan after Christmas but you know Christmas in Japan I want to talk a little bit about that it's not quite the same and a lot of people are youtubers in Japan or making videos about the holidays in in Japan but it's just not the same you don't have the same kind of feeling as you do here this not maybe just not enough glib mind is that enough wine or something but here in Germany I'm getting that vibe I'm getting the vibe that I don't get in Japan just because it's so it's so like everywhere it's really cold you can see the moon up there too how this iPhone excess looks awesome in HDR I think we're broadcasting live an HDR so according to Vodafone I'm allowed to livestream all over Europe so I might be doing a livestream in Paris if I have any bandwidth left just to say hi but Munich is absolutely beautiful at this time of year we went to the grounds where the Oktoberfest is held a few hours ago and they have a Christmas market there but that doesn't open until 2 p.m. on weekdays so there are a lot of people waiting we were there at 1:30 and decided not to wait just come back here up there is the famous Cathedral in Munich and we're gonna go up there and see the sunset in about 30 minutes to an hour so you after we finished this food livestream come back on and watch us as we just take a short live stream and show you what the sunset in Munich looks like all right we're going in for chocolate now we've already had we've already had sausages hot milk what are we eat we almonds is that it there's a bakery it just looks good everything looks good it smells good it's a smell of spices cinnamon wine sausages roasting meat cranberries I'm getting it's like smelling the bouquet of wine yeah what will you get on the street I can smell right now nothing pretzels then there's the sounds of the streets just everyone speaking in German it also gives it kind of that vibe you can see straight ahead is about 250 meters - Mariana thoughts which is where we started the livestream we're walking back in that direction I think we're about 50 meters away from the chocolate deep-fried doughnut dessert booth I can feel it can feel it yes we can take a now and see if we can go see the sunset Munich is awesome for the Christmas markets there were a couple other places that I wanted to go I'm glad that I came here because because I I came here 21 years ago and it's it's nice to visit here again many people are laughing at me for doing livestream and I guess that's something that people do in Munich I guess walk around with the stick like we do
