christchurch united and the south city royals a lot lying on today's game with christchurch united having the chance to qualify for the national league when today will see them through depending on goal difference in a game that will be taking place at roughly the same time very exciting stuff here today we'll catch up with the coaches first let's go talk to danny halligan coach of christchurch united denny i mean i guess this week has probably been a little bit different there is the chance of the national league qualification with a win today how's the vibe been in the camp this week yeah clearly we know we know the stakes we know where the situation is now um and it's been like this for three weeks where it's a must win but um you know every week we've added pressure but players enjoy that you know that's what you play sport for for that kind of occasion um and the atmosphere and the group has been really positive um and it's yeah they're just looking forward to the opportunity to to go out there and play football and i guess last week as well you went one nil down into the half you've got to take positives away to be able to come from behind like that it's something that we've had to work on really hard we're a young group of players and we've had setbacks this year that we just haven't dealt with properly and that comes with maturity and just time um and we've talked about it a lot and we've worked on it and last week we were one down but into a really really strong win but we didn't panic and we felt confident if we just kept doing the things that we're good at um that things would come right and it did um and yet you get it you get a lot of satisfaction from that kind of thing awesome more danny all the best today and hopefully catch up after the game thank you very much yes i'm here with the coach of south city royals richard murray richard tough week last week how has the preparations been so far yeah it was we uh we didn't perform as well as we can it's probably our worst game this season i think um the occasion got to us a bit uh so this week we've just sort of peeled it back of it and just had a bit of fun um numbers that set that time of the season the students are starting to get a bit busier and all that sort of stuff so yeah numbers weren't great at training but we as i said we peeled it back had a bit of fun and just gotten back enjoying it and i guess mathematically there is still a chance that you can make the national league has that been a topic of conversation at all uh yeah we can but no it hasn't i mean for us it's about rectifying what went wrong last week and about as we said from the start of season our aim was to improve each game took a backwards step last week so this week we have to step up and improve and if results fall our way and mathematically it works then so be it but if it doesn't then as long as we've put out a good performance we'll be happy in there awesome thanks richard all the best game kick off at 12 o'clock for that one and if they can put a big win on the board they would leap frog above christchurch united but there's a job here to do for them to join cashmere technical in the national league who after a big five-nil win over the south city royals last week booked themselves a place and it was the coach richard murray he talked about looking for improvement from that result last week so we'll hopefully see them come out firing as we do see the sides walking out onto the field now south city royals in the red this week with christchurch united in the blue i imagine if we were in a level one situation this would be a packed out field here but unfortunately it's a little bit quieter with the level two restrictions so thank you for joining us on the stream today
