please welcome Chris culer me I I'm so happy for you thank you I am so happy for you you're doing so great and and so much has happened to you just in the last few months uh you've turned 20 years old you're just 20 I'm 20 yes turn 20 nominated for an Emmy one of out Magazine's most compelling people of 2010 one of GQ Magazine's men of the year for 201 PK it it feels like it feels like I'm still living in Clovis California but I just went insane and now this is just one huge hallucination where did you live where at Clovis California where and is that small it is yeah oh good great great the other person that's from there um yeah um yeah it's a subb of so it's like a really big small town uhhuh so you feel like you're still living there and this is delusional just a huge hallucination yeah I can't tell you how many times I would uh sit and talk to my TV pretending guys on the show really growing up oh yeah oh yeah all the time that's hilarious was a little odd yeah um yeah that no but that's what makes you dream that's what makes you dream and your parents must be so proud of you oh they're they're over the moon um they couldn't be proud uh my dad's actually sick right now so hi Dad and get better and stop texting me please yeah um um but no they uh they turn my old bedroom into like a um just like almost like a little Shrine of me they they every newspaper clipping um pictures of talk shows um just it's all up in my room oh that's amazing that's so great fact I actually they have this huge um poster of me um uh from like it was like a billboard or something that I got and I was like what am I going to do with this so I gave it to my parents and um so it's a little strange when I'm at home sleeping in my old bed and I see my face staring down at me like just looking it's kind of creepy that's Hil and did they always support because a lot of parents are very fearful like oh you better have something else to do in case this doesn't work out were they very supportive of you oh they've they've always been supportive um and they're very realistic and they always said you know make sure you you get your education in in the meantime but um absolutely they they would drive me to auditions every like once every month or so growing up and um yeah they couldn't have been more supportive oh that's great now speaking you said when you go back to your old bedroom I heard that you have major sleeping problems I do yes um do you live alone I do okay this is crazy I I mean I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep but what you are doing is scary tell people what you're going through um well I've I've always been as Sleepwalker and um my mom has hysterical stories of actually finding me when I was younger uh eating on like like cereal on the couch but I was asleep and um so it it's kind of come back and recently and I I started taking this the sleeping pill to kind of of help with it and um I started sleep shopping online yeah and it's these really random packages kept showing up like on my doorstep and and I'd open them up they'd be so Random like like the complete series of the Carol brunette show and and this huge like life-size poster of Lady Gaga um I don't know why my subconscious wanted that that poster no idea no but I think the weirdest was a huge framed portrait of Marie an toinette showed up now what does that say about your subconscious I don't know wait so so and so before we go I we we have to go but I just I can't let you go without talking about this because it's such an important subject for me we're talking about bullying and how many kids out there are getting bullied and uh were you bullied in school I was every single day um every day um you know I I I hate to say it but it did teach me to be very very quick on my feet and I had some pretty legendary comebacks to bullies when I was in high school but um like the one you did on the bullying episode yes not quite that wordy but um but it it's it's amazing that i'm now in this role um that's inspiring so many kids out there to be themselves and and to overcome it and um I mean how you told that that that uh you know insignificant feeling sad lonely kid that I was in high school that one day I'd be in this position um playing a kid playing that inspires so many people yeah yeah and um my speech and debate teacher had this amazing speech and debate teacher um had the best oneliner that I remember she told our class and I I still think about it to this day she said um if if you truly own who you are no one can ever use you against you and um I thought about that every single day and I think that's that's something great for that's a good thing to remember that's great well I'm proud of you you I really am I think you're amazing and the show is so good and so important and uh I'm just really happy for you Glee airs Tuesdays at 8 on Fox and today you're all going home with season 1 on DVD we be back [Music]
