Chicago's Best Pizza: Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

everyone knows that jeep is a true American original since 1941 but this is the Chicago originals episode and we're on our way to a spot that's been doing deep-dish right since 1971 oh yeah we're in Lincoln wood on our way to the original luminaries all right muck anything you want to get off your chest well you know it took you a long time I didn't take too long about 30 years I've been coming here over 20 years 25 30 years I've been eating it finally right right well welcome whenever I think of deep-dish Chicago pizza I automatically think of Lou Malnati's there are many imitators around Chicago what is it about the pizza that you guys deliver it makes people keep on coming back for more and more and more the best part about is the crust and I love their buttery crust who doesn't love the buttery crust it's just like the thing worth eating carbs for you know there's a certain addictive quality to the pizza every single part is better than the next we really take care to make sure that not only are they the best quality but that they really work together and speaking of working together Marc and I are headed to scratch one off the old bamboo bucket list let's build up a loose deep-dish pizza you know what this is right here thousands of years of seasoning rain here and these the ones the serenade mount audience it no matter how long you've been around every good pie starts with the dough we pull and stretch until our pan is lined with that future bada goodness and now this is Wisconsin's finest mozzarella you matter of fact mmm oh we should a toast now yeah and what you want to do is oh you wanted to toast I wanted to tell you give me a couple layers on here and get it all the way to the sides yes sir is this like a hour-and-a-half segment we're doing it's gonna it's gonna be the cheese provides a nice base on which I can apply crow digis amounts of sausage and I think if we play this real fast motion and everything you know it'll capture the actual timing and sequences you have a real problem with my work ethic guys have you ever done anything with food before oh I'm going down my Lou Malnati's poster when I got home today yeah but your wife isn't she's she's still getting love was okay so now the marks done hurling insults at me we load up on chunky fresh tomato sauce and finish with a sprinkle upon we're done you're done what are we talking at there was a long time I hate you mock before we dive in it goes without saying we had roughly a million suggestions from our fans one in particular stuck out for me from Hector on Facebook and he said deep dish pizza or loose is like eating heaven and works for me poet chewy dive in let's go that crust is the stuff of Chicago legends packed with all that sausage was Hector right that's the question I don't know if there's a heaven all I know is that's incredible I'm so glad you finally made it out here I'm so happy that I finally made out here I've dreamed of this moment have you I don't have to kidding here you're a very caring man you
