best thing to do in Chicago in winter to stay warm is obviously to stuff your face and eat so first off is Lou Mitchell's diner which has been around since 1923 and currently serves the best doughnut holes and breakfast in all the land so that's going to give me the good start to the day to the sky deck which is 103 floors and the tallest in the tallest building in Chicago in the Willis Tower so we've been basically messing around taking pictures on the little ledge where you can stand above Chicago is so weird how much it messes with your mind from the top of the spider you can see [Music] obviously winter Christmas so comment about the crisp indoor market in central Chicago near the famous sculpture you can get all the pencils bluevine Christmas decorations cut Monday souvenirs like you've ever wanted nice little souvenir from Chicago [Music] come inside with the largest Tiffany mosaic in the world [Music] I am currently standing in the largest light well in a retail store in America I didn't even know that was a thing lucky me [Music] no no visit to Chicago is complete no matter what season it is without the visit to Sabine Pony it's actually called Cloud Gate but they call it the bean here because that's what shape it is and it's the most visited attraction in the whole state of Illinois and I am there to take the obligatory selfie Sabine is right in the center of Millennium Park which is where the Chicago people Chicago and come to relax and like literally chill in the if you come to Chicago in the winter give yourself the best chance of enjoying yourself and bring lots of layers and coats and hats and scarves so that you can actually brave the weather it is right now it's the middle of November and I think it's about three degrees due to get colder and snow tomorrow taking the river walk in the day is fun and you get to see lots of different skyscrapers and the boats going by and which keeps on the bridges and then if you come down at the night at nighttime and up to 50 lights and it's a good way to warm up as well we're getting toasty now I've been staying at the Holiday Inn Marta Plaza which as you can see has amazing views I can see the river and I can see the bridges and skyscrapers and see the train going past as well which feels very chic hago tonight I am going to eat beets oh yeah you've got to do that when you're in Chicago going to Geno's so you're gonna go and check out that deep-dish and then I'm gonna go and see the Blue Man chai which is a load of men dressed up in blue doing mime or something like that I think it's gonna be better than I just made it sound as it's one of the iconic things to do in Chicago and the show has been running for years great thing to do in the winter nice and warm in the evening [Music] we have come to the house blues for a [Music] chicken and waffles which are like my new favorite thing and [Music] one of the coolest mustards in Chicago is to check out some of the neighborhoods today I have come to Armitage which is like yuppie kind of place up-and-coming young people hitters you know got my coffee I'm just having a little look around and it's a nice bit of peace and quiet from different options I was actually aiming for the conservatory but somehow I've ended up at Lincoln Park Zoo so I'm gonna go and have a look I actually haven't got long left in Chicago and want to make the most of the last hour and a half Lincoln Park Zoo is totally through and in the primate house it was really nice and warmer so I think this is another good thing it's on your list of winters in Chicago if you're in Chicago for winter check out what festivals are on right now there is the light festival lane yes it's got that right and with every entry get a free bit of cheesecake so it's totally worth them in even just for that but there is like music and shot drink and all sorts of things [Music]
