Chef vs Normals HONEST Kitchen Gadgets Review! | Sorted Food

brace yourself everyone we've let Chef cush off his leash he's going to be reviewing some kitchen gadgets with normal Barry and I feel like he's going to get opinionated I'm representing Ben Evel here so I'm going to be really strict and serious all right boys Gadget number one lift the cloche up okay there is a little bit of construction required it's like a sundial Oscar it's a sundial it's got five little knives on it are these knives no there are spikes and blades that seems a bit dangerous that must go on there oh I know what this is Oscar it's what do you think these do grip the equip so you cut cheese Barry Barry this is the Bosca cheese curler Amigo you'll make paper thin cheese curls with the Busker cheese curler ideal for garnishing your favorite Italian Dish but also works very nice as a snack with a drink put a tet de Moi which is a cheese on the pin and rotate the curler clockwise for best results use cheese straight out of the fridge sorry I'm thinking like oh so you don't chop down you shave the top it's for fancy cheese catch this guy has used this to cut his hair [Laughter] sorry as a chef why do you ever want to curl cheese we used to have one of these at La manoir for trolley did you she used to work in Michelin star restaurants you should talk about it oh yeah uh so it would come out on the Cheech fully and it's a bit of ceremony also it shaves well we'll see what it does oh no tell you what going down with these really and wait wait wait Bang shave oh that's satisfying so a little bit about tech de Moi it originates from Switzerland uh from the lovely texture it's a very dry cheese inside once you get down into it but by doing this it spreads that flavor all over your mouth really quickly imagine eating a big chunk of that would be almost too much whether and it comes up to it warms quite nicely in your hand which brings the flavors out as well because it's so thin it almost the funkiness tastes quite a lot like truffle yeah you get like a truffly vibe from it it's really tasty it's a unique way of experiencing cheese but couldn't you get something relatively close with a marker plane I think with a peeler you can try and get close yeah a microplane would break it into tiny little pieces I love the story behind it they produce the cheese that tastes great shaved into little pieces like this so they've created a device specifically that one task this has one task and so far it does it well I can see this is an ebbas Gadget yeah because he loves entertaining he loves the theater he loves cheese loves shaving loves shaving thank God because it gets really hairy really quickly and yeah I can see I can see I'm absolutely loving this type of thing as a gadget it does one thing really well really well how much you need it in your life debatable but if you adore your cheese and adore that cheese I'm sure that's one of the finest ways of eating it how much do you think this gadget is considering that specific cheese cost us 30 quid wow I'd be surprised if the gadget wasn't more than 15 pounds so I'll stick to 15 quid I'm gonna go 18.99 looking at the welds if I told you it was 24 pounds 99 what would you think yeah because it's being sold in a posh shop isn't it yeah and I once I was closer so I'm happy with that this is this isn't a competition this is a friendly game everything's a competition that's great brilliant yeah saying that this is the internet and you're reviewing it we're going to need an internet star review and to rate it out five stars please as a gadget it works it works really well so it has to be five stars but I'd say it's a close shave whether it's needed and whether it's for you club actually quite a good review very nice very nice Boys number two what could it be I think I know what it is and I love it scouring sponge mitts marry marry scrubs these are the duramit the duramit represents the natural progression in cleaning surface preparation and finishing be completely pointless but straight away it is a scouring pad with a sponge behind it so you can't actually use the sponge part of it that well oh yeah because the sponge part is for the delicate it's a delicate bit and you don't need the sponge bit so here are some of the claims from the juramit protect hands while you clean a better alternative to normal latex gloves no need to grasp a cleaning pad ergonomically correct design waterproof versatile so the the term ergonomically is overused with all design products it's just something people say to say it's supposedly makes your life easier this designed to make that application there's nothing ergonomically useful about that I can imagine having to take it off quite a few times when washing up yeah like you want to load the dishwasher so you scrub open the dishwasher take it off get your hand wet put it in and then the worst thing in life other than you know a few things is putting a wet hand in a rubber glove that is that you know what I think it actually might be the worst worst yeah I think that might be the worst should we give him a test let's go so boys in front of you you have a bowl of hot water some washing up liquid and some dirty washing up we're going to time you both to see how long it takes you to get through your washing up Barry has the dura mitt Kush has just the scouring pad start go quicker oh yeah it goes quick yeah that's 20 that's one day one hour and 40 minutes so it's really quick to set it's got highly positive reviews some review are saying it's actually fantastic to help carers for people with Alzheimer's um others see others do say there are tricks to opening it and you can get in there if you really want to what did I set it to you're at work you don't guess 25 these are scales these are huge I've got scales like this at home boys this is the Salter Max electronic kitchen scale and chopping board oh no no no no you're gonna really push off here in the bin [Applause] garlic I'm trying to understand the the Dual functionality of why it's useful being a chopping board and a set of scales outside of just perhaps saving space the only benefit I can see right now is having a big set of scales is this is Bonkers because I'm going to take this off here in order to weigh it and zero it but as if you had a big pan yep and you want to be still be able to see the numbers because sometimes you get small scales it does cover a mile what our home does now want to measure how much is going in but that's the only time I think can be useful is when weighing water or other ingredients into a big sauce but that would usually cover up the display see I I guess it's really more a space-saving thing it's PR it's not allowing you to do anything other than whey and chop and I wouldn't recommend chopping anything that needs lots of scrubbing or washing because there's batteries in it so you're not going to dump it in the sink and scrub it are you so this is a spray and wipe surface which is it's glass you know it cleans quite easily but you wouldn't want to chop Chicken on that so we've mentioned this before but Salter have been making scales for over 100 years and Richard Salter actually created the first home set of scales with Springs what are your overall thoughts it does neither of its purposes as well as a simpler item yeah how much do you think these sell for it's over 20 quid I'll go 25 pounds I'm gonna go 29 pounds 27 pounds 50. boys we're going to need a rating out of five and an online review how many stars one one can chop on it but
