thanks for having me on yeah so you started posting on YouTube in 2007 yeah okay and as Dax flame mm-hmm what's your real name uh well I actually like you can find part of my real name online I don't really say or eise or something no well yeah I guess I could say it so my real name okay hold on sorry instead of a boy or girl he's super excited she's attacking me what's your real name well I don't really don't want to say I actually I yeah I don't care anymore like I'm not that cautious about it um but yeah you can find it pretty easy so I don't know I'm not saying it oh well then what yeah what is it people just comment it right yeah what is it I just like sometimes don't I just look off into the distance and I'm thinking but like I guess I'm looking there but at the right yeah but I'm not really even focusing on what I'm looking at I'm just thinking sure yeah do you do that yeah sometimes yeah um yeah so um okay yes good I don't care about your naming me yeah I don't care about either but like I maybe like I think I should just think about it maybe next time if we do it again or if you hurry to it I can kill you no no this is great I just would want to think about it first have you seen the video of Bo Burnham and he's talking about you and he's like he has me stumped yeah that was at YouTube live okay like like 2009 er yeah nine really I guessed it yeah I was a total guess dang this Mike meeting a new girlfriend video she's like one of your top ones yeah my day was excellent today and um why it was excellent it's because um okay so and like twin when do I begin here's where I begin six period was awesome it's like hilarious things yeah did you know it was funny when you posted it III think that like I could tell that people what people thought was funny but like at the same time it wasn't like trying to be funny yeah it's kind of a mixture of you and a character I yeah sorry I'm just thinking a lot it's all right do you have a deal ad D or any kind of condition no you take medication no all right I feel like I'm allowed to ask that because I I have like well pretty much self diagnosed a TD and what is that I feel like you daydream a lot yeah yeah yeah but it's like it's like a personal choice that medicate yourself you know does it feel good to daydream a lot like is it doesn't feel like anything sometimes it feels good yeah it feels good dreaming like especially the music you know you like music yeah what's your favorite band I don't know I listen to what people recommend to me but I have here I it man because like it's nervous every no every now and then I see like a glimmer where I'm like is he serious or not cuz yeah people ask me all the time like if I'm really awkward in real life you know yeah like cuz and I'm I always give them like the same answer like I'm it's like half half like yeah like I'm definitely a little eccentric mm-hmm but then I also exaggerate it for the videos obviously to be funny yeah that's is that kind of what you do um I don't think so I think previously in my life yeah yeah wait I'm looking at this I feel like you want this skateboard you keep looking at the rat or is it autographed by Christian he's a skater you want to keep sorry well which I don't really make that many videos now right right right uh how do you get money now you live I'm running out oh you're what I don't know like I'm not out yet oh cool um like I honestly you made a ton from 21 Jump Street yeah yeah and project decks nice yeah so that's what I have liftoff of till now damn I was like four or five years uh well since high school and I'm 26 so like eight years nice yeah did you invest it at all no why are you washing you crack me up man I cannot read you it that is funny I yeah I am I like honestly it's like now in a super tough financial spot but it's okay cuz like well like because worst-case scenario worst-case scenario is that I it is kind of bad like I would have to like like nice videos for money no I wouldn't I would go live with them maybe but I would have to like give up on LA how's the interview goin how's it comparing to other interviews did you watch any other yeah oh how does it feel though because it feels sore it's different being in it well it is a different setting we usually had the first one without a black backdrop yeah but the reason being is because I thought this would look better and also I needed that room to live in and where being being my old room oh it's on there now no okay no um sir is there an upstairs here yeah it's just a loft up there cool all right it is only one room Jason try and be more like should I like tell any jokes is it supposed to be funny that's pretty funny yeah do you have any jokes no but you said I know I don't think I'm that good at telling jokes but like you said loft and it sounded sort of like your youtube name so I didn't know if like you felt like it should be like that would've been a good time to make your fans laugh or something no but yeah I don't I don't I used to think I was like funny but now I think that some things I do are funny but like I can't intentionally do it and people don't watch my videos as much anymore the people who do it really excited about them yeah but I don't know if you're gonna get a lot of people that are if you're expect a lot of well people would be like Dex Laine ya know it's well I want to start even like interviewing like people that aren't famous at all like interviewing like a feminist or in it you know or are me chatting with a like a doctor or chatting with a stripper that could be really interesting you know yeah I don't know if you're if you really like this or because I don't know you you know you wanted to get a coffee and then to interview a different time maybe no but no this is funny though do you do dating apps yeah tinder yeah I have a video called adventures on tinder do you like the dating apps yeah I mean sometimes they're it's like they're a joke but you know do you like the joke yeah well like sometimes they like I don't know sometimes they're like they work and sometimes they don't you know what what does the sitting in a date yeah I don't know like sometimes I won't match with anyone for like a month and sometimes I do and then and it's great have you how long you been on tinder my friends made me one like a month ago or a few weeks ago okay yeah have you met anyone off it uh well one time I did oh but that was when I was in another country and they just like wanted to learn English so I was just like trained it I was just trying to meet up with someone like just sort of like I didn't know what else to do so what country Mexico huh you're just there alone mm-hmm on a cruise or no what were you doing in Mexico it's just for fun vacation huh yeah I used to stay in hostels a lot huh just to travel just to travel fine it's easier to ask questions yeah oh yeah for me to know that I'm asking questions I don't feel nervous at all yeah that's yeah that what's what I kind of do on like a first date I'll I'll just focus on asking questions and because then you know you sound like an ass if you're liable and only talked about yourself you know we should wrap this up though get this is this I of them more than enough material what a do you want to ask me anything else what uh what kind of questions do you ask on your dates it kind of depends like I don't know this last one I went on she like texted like hold up cowboy I'll text you back in like a week or something and I was like okay and like I kind of just like joked about that and I don't know it kind of depends or like where we're at he said like why did you call me cowboy yeah I was like why did you call me cowboy what did she think she laughed and was like oh she said it was because I said come on I want to meet you because she was taking like a week to text me back or something and then we finally then she's like hold up cowboy I was gonna text you babe I didn't like cowboy I guess he said she thought that come on was cowboy ish yeah so she said she told you that yeah did you say anything about like do you remember I was like oh yeah that come on I guess I was a little impatient I guess she thought it like took it as like kind of like aggressive cowboy ish like come on I want to meet you she was like hold up cowboy hmm so you said to her like like she explained it and then what did you say I was like oh then we that I would then we moved on what did you talk about that I'm over we I was like do you want a drink and she's like
