[PEOPLE TALKING EXCITEDLY] [PEOPLE EXCLAIMING] SPEAKER 1: It took a bit
longer than you expect, because you think it's
going to just happen. SPEAKER 2: The previous
20 minutes to 30 minutes, it had been a little
bit disappointing. Because really you look up at
the sun, and to your bare eyes, it looks like the normal sun. SPEAKER 1: But then it
all started to change. SPEAKER 4: You started to get
this very sort of weird light. SPEAKER 5: This weird, sort of
spacey shade of a dark blue. SPEAKER 3: There were these
crazy winds that started. SPEAKER 6: And then I started
hearing cicadas buzzing, which was really cool. SPEAKER 3: And there was
this distinct feeling that something was
about to happen. SPEAKER 7: All of a sudden,
it was just like someone literally just [SNAPS FINGERS]
switched the light switch off. SPEAKER 8: When you're at a
play and the lights are on and then they go off. And then you're like oh,
the show is starting. [PEOPLE EXCLAIMING] SPEAKER 3: It's like you're
suddenly in this dream world where everything is
just slightly different. It's a very surreal experience. SPEAKER 9: Probably the
closest thing to magic or-- SPEAKER 3: It no longer
looked like the sun. SPEAKER 10: This
darkness surrounded by like a fiery, beautiful orb. SPEAKER 7: With these light
wave things shooting out of it. SPEAKER 11: It was
cold, it was dark. It's completely disconcerting. SPEAKER 3: I started
kind of laughing and crying simultaneously. SPEAKER 9: Probably
the only time in my life I've had a
full adrenaline rush. SPEAKER 7: And I
honestly don't think it would be as special if
you were witnessing it alone. SPEAKER 11: And there was
this moment of solidarity. SPEAKER 3: Hugging your
friends and dancing around. SPEAKER 12: So many things
had been happening around us that it was this
remarkable moment of, the moon has this effect. SPEAKER 6: I think just being
there in that place and time is a really special moment. SPEAKER 12: I think it
puts life into perspective. It makes you feel small
and also in awe of nature. SPEAKER 7: There is no way
to not be in that moment. SPEAKER 3: It sort
of makes you realize that there are very
few times in your life where you actually have wholly
new experiences like that. SPEAKER 2: So it's just
this little experience that is now kind of locked away. And I don't know, maybe
I'll never see that again. [PEOPLE LAUGHING] [PEOPLE TALKING EXCITEDLY] SPEAKER 6: Glasses on! Glasses on! Glasses on! Glasses on. (SINGING) Here comes the
sun, do, do, do, do, do. Here comes the sun. No, I want more! I want more!
