what's going on guys how you doing how are you hope you're well we're playing a doozy today i need to turn my phone down simon's quest i've never played this never fully played it never tried hard to beat it i have played maybe the first two castles and because this is an rpg it's an rpg action rpg we're gonna treat it like an rpg i'm gonna play this like i play rpgs there's gonna be some grinding there's gonna be lots of talking to people because this game is insanely poorly translated very poor translation so it's like trying to beat this on your own is dumb i don't think you can you need a guide i'm not using a guide right now but that doesn't mean i won't later that doesn't mean i won't accept hints later because i'll probably need them also this song is freaking banging my tango by the classic classic castlevania collection it was funny as bad as the game this is supposed to be i think i have more copies of this game than any other game i have this copy on the collection i have it on my nes classic and i have the physical copy um for my nes i have this three times over playing with me all right very cool man yeah i hope uh i hope we do well then geez i've done that before that's actually fun to play with streamers oh man all right so here's a couple things about this game it's got great graphics for a nintendo game great music one of the best castlevania soundtracks in all the games what's going on gameplay how you doing okay so like i said treating this like an rpg i'm talking to everybody come here also because i'm playing this on the switch i'm using my 8-bit dough adapter with my snes classic controller i'm not using the joy cons i'm not using pro controller we're going old school we're using the snes style stuff because i like the button layouts i like the this right here when playing nes games that's the best first thing to do with this town is buy a white crystal shut up i know that you don't know that get out of my face oh man with a stick you need a stick that's how old you are a crooked trader is offering bum deals into sound am i going to know which one that is how would i know which one that is i'm not gonna know i know you heal in the churches also i need to make this full screen also i turned on the bot i remember the bot bot is active also i need to remember to pause because there is a timer we are not going for the good ending just to let you guys know i'm not going for the good ending i'm playing this as casual as i can we're gonna get whatever ending we get never beat this before so i'm gonna get whatever ending i want to information i'm gonna buy some stuff i gotta go kill some things and buy some stuff get ready for the best freaking music in castlevania history i mean we're listening to it now but also it gets have castlevania too ambitious game this could have been a great game if they just i know there's a fan translation out there that fixes a lot of the issues and has like a map and stuff that'll be story i forgot so here's the story of uh we didn't get to hear the good song god dang it oh get away from me wolf um four dang we need that thornwood the story is this is a direct sequel to castlevania one after we beat dracula he cursed us we're gonna die apparently every night uh this happens where bad guys are stronger or something every night bad things happen i don't know if it's just us or what but i mean bad guys are there during the day so i don't exactly know what the curse is anyway we're also gonna die that's that's part of the curse we're cursed to die um so what we need to do is collect all dracula's body part dracula's still dead he's not even alive yet this is only like two years after the first game or something five years maybe something we're gonna collect all the body parts and then reburn them to lift the curse you got that let me make sure you understand we killed dracula in the first game we have to bring him back collect his body parts and kill him again and that is this game hope that's clear okay oh the wolf first i need that whip man i'm weak i'm stupid weak but we're getting hearts so the big half heart is worth like four i need that i need that i need that i need that i need that i need that actually let's see okay we got 40 already yo we can almost get the holy water come here wolf so if we had 40 okay so so half hearts are worth four are there big full hearts worth eight that would be cool excuse me excuse me i'm weak little simon and there's a little heart side secret work too if we ever get one we're just farming this is an rpg this is how you rpg you know what actually there's enemies in town i can fight there's these things they look like monster in my pocket makes sense that's from konami also that's a good game monster farming hearts we just started farming hearts we can almost get the new whip we need like seven more of these that's 88 90 right okay so 10 more hearts so we'll get that whip then we get the holy water after 92 94 96 98 you're gonna give us our last heart nope you suck one more give me one more baby heart there we go 100 yeah all right let's go get our thorn whip and then we can probably kill these guys faster which means we can grind faster get more money faster get the holy water because god dang does this game have freaking stupid invisible blocks that make you fall through them that you have to find with holy water that's the dumbest thing in my opinion about this game those blocks that are that are fake blocks anyway thorn whip yes boom upgrade it looks exactly the same no i have a thorn whip thank you stop talking to me sir you know what let me get out of here because i feel that you're pushy was that the bum deal was that the guy with the bum deal it looks exactly the same is it longer it doesn't even look longer maybe it's a little longer i don't know i bet it's stronger though all right we need 50 more hearts let's go get uh let's go kill 25 enemies more than don't remember not a throwing cross that cross is not in this one for some reason where are we at 32 okay we're almost there 18 more ah we're cursed we're cursed ah the volume needs to come up by all have more hit points maybe but yeah we're i'm ending and we get what we get if we die then we die it'll be canon right didn't they mess up the endings too like they got the wrong ending in the wrong order or something or it sounds that way they screw up the translation for the ending something like that [Music] all right so we got one level up i'm just getting money now because it's better to farm at night and we can't go back to town anyway because everything's closed because you know monsters is this wallekia also is this the town that's no that's earlier in the series well this could be the same town though aggression or something i forget what the towns are the enemy [Music] i killed two at once i got no money we're getting good money now looking good money now we're gonna be ready for the next one as long as i don't die because if you die you lose all your money isn't that cool that's fun right everybody loves to lose all the progress they made i actually don't mind that too much as long as you're careful that shouldn't be an issue to game over also because i'm playing it on this collection we can do safe space if i need to i'm ready [Music] since there is a password system though we could use passwords it doesn't really matter since this is kind of open world area whatever you want to call it it's not a big deal to die somewhere i think you just started this town every time you come back boom [Music] it's not a good spot to farm these boats they're very slow these wolves aren't like the werewolves i know they're extremely casual about all this but hey we're getting money there we go god dang that's a long curse door my man what's going on how are you to get the good ending you have to beat it within so many day cycles so like every time the curse comes up and it's night time and it goes day to night like that you only have so many of those to get the good ending i don't care about that so we're gonna die [Music] jova that's right jeremy man what's thing this is the worst thing about this game is tossing this freaking holy water everywhere it's so dumb it's so dumb why would anybody look at that and be like yeah throw that in there good stuff bad bad game mechanic but i'm using myself for it i don't know if i like this song more than the uh the castle theme once you enter like a a dungeon or a castle or whatever they're called here manors
