Cars and Coffee in Columbia TN | Finding Vintage Autos - Ep.1

[Music] I am Jason Sheffield owner of vintage autos here in Florence Alabama Benedetto's is a new business I started focusing on my passion what I love and that's all automobiles anything that turns my wheels I'm just automotive enthusiasts and I'll love anything about it so one of my favorite things to do is ride the back roads I think it's the core piece of this type of business if you're not out looking you're never gonna find it going out on the back roads searching talking to people it'll lead you down the path to find the car that you're looking for today we had the opportunity to get up at dawn jump within the nine eleven take off to Columbia Tennessee to Mike Wolfe American Pickers Carson coffee he hosts every second Saturday I believe great event he puts on nice to walk around because there's very unique cars there so today went there to find something that we can bring home so I go to these kind of events all the time I call it grassroots you've got to hit these events to find prospects put the word out pass your card around everybody that's a car person you can all relate to each other so putting that word in their ear about what you're looking for what not that's what gets the ball rolling they might know someone that might know someone that I call you on a car so it benefits you to always stop talk see what's out there never know if sometimes you get run off sometimes someone will stay by the story and the story is the most important thing to me if it vehicle has a story it gives it so much clout to me that it gives it more value so today during the event some of the cars that stuck out to me one had to be the AMC eagle setup very cool trekked across the US that car was that car was pretty cool I would do the same thing a couple the others was a fifties Nomad Chevrolet she had some cars that she's ready to get rid of that was passed down to her so that's a that's a plus and finding someone like that another cool truck was a dent side Ford gentleman had a I think it was a 460 in it with nitrous cam doubt the pretty sick truck and now it's kind of interesting on what his truck's value was and you know what what someone would probably give them so neat truck some of the other cool stuff was some of the old fifties bars some of the old rat rods there was a 40 nice-looking fastback Mustang cloned after the bullet but had light model Mustang seats in it it was pretty good and then we were able to run across the vehicle for sale 1966 dually Chevrolet talked to the gym about that car that truck it was actually an Alabama truck had the truck for about five or six months just thought he'd have a good project but health reasons he's ready to let it go those trucks have become very popular turned into kind of like what we have behind us is a barrel truck we call it Tennessee whiskey that truck gets a lot of action wherever I go so I got a look at those 6070 model trucks very popular in Texas and stuff for us right now so anytime I find those that are nice rust free I try jump on those we can bring it back to the shop and do a little work to it and set it up right so today in Columbia Tennessee I didn't end up with anything but that's the way it goes sometimes you find something sometimes you don't so on our way back from Columbia Tennessee we decided to take a back road back for a nice drive and we start seeing some vehicles poking out of the woods so I pulled over decided to go check it out so I walk through the woods and here we go nothing else really looking for a bunch of fifties Model boards and 60 model Fords never know to get out and start picking to see what you might find what drives to me every day is you know trying to find that next pick getting the word out there hoping it turns up something everybody hopes for that granddaddy of all fun and haven't found that yet we found a lot of great cars but always searching I'll probably do this to the in the time for me but it's what I love it's my passion [Music]
