[Music] hi everybody it's amber and welcome back to my channel thank you so much for joining me today i'm doing a voice over here in the beginning because i totally forgot to film the album in the beginning of the video to share with you so i'm just doing voice over um this is the album we're gonna be making today we do a full tutorial here on camera it's super easy i hope you'll stick around to check it out we did a poll on my instagram and this one one to do a mini album out of this beautiful love notes collection by graphic 45 so i'm just doing a quick flip through here and if you want to learn how to make this it is super easy i can't say that enough it's called a cardstock mini album and i designed it so you don't need any chipboard there's even pockets and fun little goodies that you put inside and we do a ribbon closure and everything so i hope that you will stick around for the tutorial and thank you so much for watching you're going to need four pieces of solid cardstock and this card stock is very sturdy i got it from paper tray ink you can also use the 110 pound card stock from michaels it's super thick as well so i'm just using the craft here and you need four pieces and they measure as follows one piece measures eight and a half by eleven so you're going to keep it intact at eight and a half by eleven then you need a piece that measures eight and a half by ten and three quarters eight and a half by ten and a half and eight and a half by ten and a quarter okay so for the beautiful patterned paper you are going to need 16 pieces that measure four and five eighths by eight and one-eighth and i also cut some solid cardstock now this card stock is not the 110 pound it's not the super heavy kind it's just the 65 pound black card stock from michaels and it's really nice quality so i'm gonna be doing a double mat on these uh pages of the album so i cut 16 pieces of solid black card stock that measure eight and three eighths by four and seven eighths then you're just gonna need some little sheets of patterned paper and these ones are for pockets so you're gonna need five pieces that measure three and seven eighths by four and seven eighths and then five of these little strips that measure two by four and seven eighths okay so the first thing you're going to need is your scoreboard and i thought i was filming and i already scored my paper but it's super easy so i'm going to show you again first you're going to put in your eight and a half by 11 piece of cardstock and these are the heavy ones because this is going to be the base of your album so you're just going to put this in on the 11 inch side and you're going to score this the same way for every page so you're gonna go in score at five then you're going to turn this around just like that and score again at five so you end up with this score line here so what's going to end up happening is the gusset the the panel in between is going to get smaller and smaller but these outside pages are going to be five inches on every sheet okay so that's that one so the next one is eight and a half by ten and three quarters so again you're gonna score in at five inches and turn it around and score in again at five inches okay so there's that one okay next take your page that measures eight and a half by ten and a half do the same thing score it five inches turn it score in at five inches there's this one and then the last one measures eight and a half by ten and one quarter again you're gonna score in at five inches turn it around and score again at five this one has a little skinny gusset right there in the middle okay so again this is really sturdy card stock and i'm starting with the four pieces that we just scored so i've got these in order from the smallest little gusset here to the largest and what i did is i added score tape to all of those middle panels so this one has one piece of scor tape because it's a quarter inch and this is score tape it's the best adhesive ever i love it so much it's perfect for making mini albums and i always make sure i'm stocked up on this i'll link this below um so you can go over and get some my favorite is the quarter inch so i've got a piece ready to go on there and remember it's not on the inside it's on the outside where you want to put it so then we've got this one so it goes like this so i've got two pieces on the outside of this one because it's a half inch gusset and then we've got this one so i've got three pieces there i just want to burnish these down so they stick really well then here's the big one and you don't put any on this one so i'm gonna start with this one make sure the glue is nice and flat okay so i've got all the backing peeled off and i like to center these two score lines between the big two score lines here i know there's a shadow so just do your best when you are centering this okay so i've got that nice and centered i'm just going to lay it down and press this down so i think i got it pretty good so let's check it yes it's nice and centered little gaps are even on both sides so i'd like to take my bone folder now and just really burnish that down so it adheres really well to that page okay so here's what we have so far okay so now let's open it up and we're gonna take our next size which is this one the one with two strips on here i'm just gonna burnish those down and peel off the backing so i'm going to do the same thing and i'm going to center these two score lines in between these two score lines on here sorry if you hear the tv my husband is watching i believe he's watching a movie um down the hall so all right so we've got that centered we've got the bottom even okay i'm just gonna let go and press it down that is the easiest way to do this i love how these turn out they're so easy and i did another album like this a couple years ago and i absolutely am obsessed with making these cardstock albums ever since i designed that one a couple years ago and i was trying to center it like this and then i was trying to think of a better way because it was so hard and it would get stuck and so i was like oh my goodness just lay it flat and center the two score lines in between those two score lines so that's how i kind of came up with this way to do it so i'm just burnishing that down really well and here we go so far it's looking good so that's what it looks like so far really even so now here's our last one our quarter inch gusset and i'm just going to peel off the backing and do the same thing [Music] this is definitely definitely inspired by laura dennison's stack the deck method and again just like my album that i designed a couple years ago okay i really love how this turned out let's do a bear flip through here are the pages so just imagine all you can do with these albums i mean it was super easy you just need some heavy duty cardstock and you don't even have to mess with chipboard or anything you can make some mini albums out of just cardstock i love this so now the fun part we get to decorate all the pages so once you have all these in here there ends up being 16 pages front and back and we're going to decorate these up really cute and it's going to be super easy so i like the look of a double matted page for a mini album see we have 16 pattern papers and then 16 black card stocks so when i say double matted this is how it's going to look this is going to be centered on that black cardstock so it's got that beautiful nice border to kind of make the image pop a little more on the craft and it's going to look so good on each of these pages so the first thing we need to do is get these patterned papers adhered down to the black cardstock okay so to do that i've got my two piles here and i'm going to use my atg gun so i'm going to adhere these down to the black cardstock and center them the best that i can just like that and then just burnish it a little bit with my bone folder and we've got one done so i'm going to go ahead and do it with the rest of my sheets [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so i'm done matting all 16 of my beautiful pages here and now super easy we just need to glue them into our album so i think i decided on this one for my cover it's got really beautiful roses and it has some distressed like music sheet paper in the background and i can always decorate on top of this so i decided on that one for the cover so i'm gonna put this one on last okay so i have them in the order that i want the pages to be it doesn't really matter but i just try to do like contrasting of colors a little bit so now we're just going to adhere these right on to our pages so this is going to leave a nice border of that craft paper all the way around so now we've got three layers of paper there it's gonna look so pretty so i'm just gonna take these and remember when you're using your atg gun don't get too close to the edge to where adhesive goes over because then you're gonna have problems with your pages sticking together so i didn't go all the way to the edge because i don't want it to seep so now i'm going to take my page here and adhere this down so when you are i'm going to turn this upside down just so i can have this closer to me but make sure you don't obstruct the score line here that makes this page full so make sure you have an even border all the way around and this um measurement that i gave you is going to leave just the skinniest little border and it's going to look really good okay and nobody's perfect you're not going to get it perfectly straight every single time but just make sure you don't go over that score line so there's the first one it's gonna look so pretty with all these pages filled up oh my goodness [Music] okay so i have the entire inside of the album covered with the beautiful paper it turned out so pretty and having that double mat makes it look so nice and the pages are nice and sturdy and thick so now we've just got the back cover and the front cover to do so if you want to do a ribbon closure now is the point where you should put your ribbon on your book and then adhere the paper over it but i think i'm going to do a little something different for the closure so i'm going to go ahead and adhere my paper down now so besides the front and back cover you're also going to need a spine piece and i just cut this down to one little sliver short of one inch and a little sliver short of eight and a half so it's essentially one by eight and a half but you need to do a little sliver less than both of those measurements so it'll fit nice and nestled right there on the spine and i chose this pattern here and i already put some score tape on the back so now i'm going to go ahead and adhere my covers and my spine down so first i'm going to do my front cover and i want it to be really really really even so i just want to make sure i'm the right direction here this is my front cover and i ran out of my atg so i'm using this score tape which is really good anyways [Music] so [Music] [Music] yes that worked out really well so i'll take my bone folder and press it down oh it's starting to look so pretty like a book and you know you can take your inks and distress the paper before you glue it down really love how this looks with the front the spine and the back and then all our gorgeous pages inside so let's work on some pockets now i want to do some double pockets and i'll show you how that's done i'm going to be using my envelope punch board to make some notches but you can also just use a circle punch for this if you would like move this out of my way for a second i'm going to lay down the five pieces that i chose for my pockets so these are going to be double pockets and i'll show you how that will work in just a second so these are really pretty so these are going to be double pockets they're going to look like this and then i need to choose a strip to be the second pocket and i'll match it up with each page so that looks good there i think that looks pretty i don't know maybe that there this here and then that there since there's a piano and that like this so these are gonna be my double pockets and i'll show you how it's gonna work it's super super super easy so let me show you what we're gonna do so this is four and seven eighths so 2.5 would be the middle of five inches and since it's a little smaller than five inches i'm just going to take it back a sliver and then punch so now we have a cute little notch for our pocket and we're going to do the same thing for the piece that's going to be layered right here 2.5 and bring it back just a sliver and punch so now it's going to look like this so i'm going to do that for all the rest of these pages and i'll be right back so i'm going to turn in here and find pages where i want to put the double pockets i know i want to put one for sure here on the front cover so i'm going to choose the one that looks good probably this one i think that looks so good so what it is is you just take the first one and you're just going to turn it around and you're going to add glue to three sides i do this so many times on my channel this is my favorite way to make pockets since we're using wet glue i want to bring in a little protective chair and i'm going to use my art glitter glue this is really good wet glue so we're just going to do a thin bead on the side on the bottom and that side this is gonna fit right to the edge of the black matte paper underneath so just stick that pocket down and i made these double pockets in my other album a couple years ago but i didn't make this one deep i didn't think about it so now so now this pocket goes all the way down and then the one that layers right here is just a short little pocket this one's going to go right here for a double pocket so we're going to do the same thing just glue on the sides and the bottom and i'm hardly using any glue here i'm not even like squeezing the bottle because this glue is super strong and you only need just a little bit i use a ton of different wet glues here on my channel but this one i feel like it's the strongest and it dries clear it dries flexible so it's my favorite glue to use uh wet glue okay so now we've got our double pocket on the inside cover and i have a ton of the ephemera cards for this collection but i just love how this looks let me kind of show you an example here so this one the pocket goes all the way down and then this one the pocket is shorter but in front and so it's a double layered pocket i think that looks so cute i'm going to go through here i have four more double pockets so i'm going to choose the pages that i want them on these are kind of plain so i think i definitely want to do some pockets here [Music] do [Music] i think those pockets are going to be so fun to fill up with goodies and the construction is basically done i just need to go and add a few decorations i do want to show you how i'm going to do the closure so i'm going to do that before i start decorating so here's my we r memory keepers eyelets and i keep them all in this little container from the dollar tree so i want to choose two that go with the album and i'll probably go with black because that's really nice here is a red too that's like a dark red so i've got black and a dark red this is how i'm going to do the closure and of course you guys know especially when i do vintage paper i'm going to use some seam binding i love seam binding so much and i'll show you the one i'm going to use in just a minute so for these we are memory keepers eyelets i have the we r memory keepers crop a dial and this punches the hole perfectly to the size of these eyelets which is 3 16 and it has a little setter right here to chomp it down so instead of putting the ribbon closure all the way around i think i just want to do a little eyelet here and on the back and then tie some ribbon through it or some seam binding so i'm going to go right above where i did the pocket go plenty off the edge here and just eyeball that center here so that's where i punch the hole and then i'm just going to take my eyelet and it fits perfectly so now you can see that there it is coming out can you see that the camera will focus so there's the back of it so all you do is you just take your top part here and it's kind of magnetic so when you stick the crop a dial this little part right here sorry i have glue on my fingers um this part right here that kind of slings back and forth you stick that and it kind of magnetizes to the eyelet and then you just chomp and there it goes it's set the eyelet it's all squished down so now we have this pretty little eyelet on the front just kind of eyeball where i did that on the back so i'm just going to put my finger approximately where i put it and there it is okay you guys i thought i was recording and i already put the trim inside so what i did is i have a really pretty piece of black satin ribbon paired with some gorgeous deep red seam binding from an etsy shop that i order it from it's called my scrap cabin and i'll link it below i got this black satin ribbon from michaels and so i just what i did is i just stuck the two ends inside the eyelet and then i just tied a little knot right here so that it won't go through so that's just on the front and then i did the exact same thing for the back i just put it through the eyelet and then tied a knot right here so then this is how you're going to close this beautiful album is by just tying this in a bow i think that closure is so beautiful here is what it looks like on the side it matches so nicely with the paper especially after we decorate the cover okay so for the goodies i do have the chipboard pieces so those will be fun to decorate with and i also have like the die cuts and so those will be fun and i have the pockets and tags and then my favorite part i have the ephemera card set so these are all four by six journaling cards and the back is a true journaling card i love that they're double sided look at how pretty these are so the back is like this vintage postcard or love letter journaling spot and then the front is a really pretty design so if you wanted to make cards with these these would be the perfect um like card fronts but we're going to stick them through our album as well and then they've got the 3x4 size 2. i just absolutely love this pack this is probably my favorite part of the graphic 45 sets are the ephemera cards i think they're so pretty and so i'm going to use a bunch of those and put them in the pockets and i'll probably use some to decorate the cover okay everybody i finished my album i had to do some of it off camera because my camera ended up dying but i absolutely love how it turned out it's super sturdy just as if we put chipboard on here and it's all made out of cardstock i cannot believe how beautiful this turned out so it's super easy to make one of these i hope that you'll give it a try let's do a quick flip through here's the cover i did a little chipboard down here and i did i saw pop this up on some foam so it's a little dimensional this feels so nice in the hands and i just layered some of the elements behind there so let's get into this ribbon closure so here is when you open it up here's the front cover i just put a bunch of these beautiful double-sided journaling cards in there and here i just did one of these chubby gold paper clips and i layered a bunch of the journaling cards and then this cute pocket with some tags inside this is a little more plain for room for photos and i actually um hot glued one of the chipboard pieces here and i ended up adding some seam binding i think that looks so pretty this page i left blank for photos and then i tucked a bunch of cute journaling cards in these pockets and added a little die cut down there and this same thing i added lots of cute elements to the pockets you can add so much more to these pockets um and then i added a cute little pocket with an insert right here love that and another journaling card and that's a beautiful page this one i put tons of stuff in two big journaling cards up here and a small one here and then another little pocket with a die cut inside and then over here i just clipped one of these little um journaling cards and then on the other side there's another pocket here which is one of these and stick it in this cute pocket there we go then i just added more journaling cards behind it so pretty and then this double pocket i added more journaling cards and that's our back cover and then there's the back i adore how this turned out i hope that you'll give it a try thank you so much for watching if you enjoyed this video i'd love for you to give me a thumbs up and consider subscribing if you haven't already and i'll see you guys in the next video thanks again for watching
