-"Invasion of Privacy"
dropped Friday, and thank you
for being here tonight. First of all, I love
the cover of the record. Did you know this was going to
be the cover when you shot it? -No, not really. You know,
we did different looks. I didn't even know this
was going to be a look. The outfit that we had for
this hair, it just wasn't fitting me anymore.
-Oh, 'cause of the baby? -Yes.
-Ah. [ Laughter ] By the way, I want to say
the reveal of your beautiful baby bump was
so awesomely done on "Saturday Night Live,"
and classy, and kind of -- It was just beautiful
'cause you were just -- you were rapping, and just
with the microphone, and the beautiful white dress,
and as the camera came out, and just revealed
your baby bump I was like, "What?"
Did you time that out? Did you know that
you were gonna reveal? Yeah, I was like,
"You know what?" I kind of -- I never really
wanted to reveal that I had a baby, I just wanted to hide it
till the end, ahh. The "ahh" day. I could have gotten away with it
if it weren't for them meddling paparazzi. [ Laughter ] Meddling paparazzi.
-Meddling paparazzi. Yeah, but you were
going to hide it? You were just going to like --
private -- have your own private thing.
-Yeah, because, you know, I was just scared of what
people would think and say. I was just freaking out,
but I just couldn't -- It was like well, why not,
why not present it in a beautiful, clean way, and then "Saturday Night Live,"
just why not? -It was beautiful.
It was great. And you did that,
and I know I just asked you, but you went there,
and then you -- the show ends at, like, 2:00,
well I mean 1:00 in the morning, but then did you go home
right after that? -Yes.
-You did, yeah. [ Laughter ] Now, this record is
certified gold already. [ Cheers and applause ] I knew!
I knew it was going to be good. I knew it was going to be good.
I called it. I want to take credit for it
even though I had nothing to do with it, but on the album you
have a reference to Chrissy Teigen and Rihanna.
-Yes. -Yeah, and --
-Ay yi yi yi yi, spicy! [ Light laughter ]
Yi yi yi! And it said I need
@ChrissyTeigen, know a bad bitch when I see one.
Tell ri-ri I need a threesome." And --
[ Laughter ] [ Clears throat ] Yeah,
and Chrissy Teigen tweeted out, "Gasp! Drops biscuits." [ Laughter ] That went viral.
That was pretty fun right there. -Drop your panties.
[ Chirping ] [ Music plays ] -Now part of you --
[ Laughter ] I want to -- for people at home
that are getting to know you, I know you have this --
you have very awesome ways of expressing yourself through
different sound effects, and I think it's good
to know what they are, and what they mean so that
everyone here in the audience and everyone at home
and everyone around the world can talk to you, and you know,
really express back to you. So I was wondering if you
could help us out with that and just go through three of the
words, or sounds, or things that you're famous for, and just
explain it to all of us, please. Do you mind?
-Sure. -This first one is eeow? Eeow!
-Oh. You know, that's,
like, almost like -- like a sad cat sound. [ Laughter ] Like a cat
that's going through pain. Eeow! [ Laughter ] [ Cheers and applause ] Alright, so --
-Eeoow! -Uh-huh, uh-huh.
Eeoow. -Eeoow.
[ Cheers and applause ] -Now, yeah. It almost seems
like a plane landing. -Eeow! -And what situation would you be
in for that to come out? -Oh, you know like when
they tell you good news, but it's good,
but it's not exciting. Like, it's like,
"Oh, I have a new job." Eeow. [ Laughter ] -You guys ready to try it? Three, two, one. -Eeoow! -Okay, this is good.
This is -- Now, the second one, is same spelling. [ Laughter ] This is eeow, but it's higher? [ High-pitched ] Eeow. -No, no, no. Aaaooow! [ Laughter ] [ Applause ] -What is that one? Wa-- yaaaow! -You know, like,
it's like, when you push -- Aaaooow! -When you get, aaaoow! How would I use
this in a situation? -Oh, well, it's just like,
"Oh, my God, I'm hosting with Jimmy Fallon.
aaaooow!" [ Laughter ] Roots, you want to try eeow? Three, two, one. Together: Aaaooow! [ Laughter ] That was very good, actually. [ Cheers and applause ] All right. For this last one,
I think I know what this one is going to be.
This one is -- -Okurt! [ Laughter ] -Someone knows it.
Someone's doing it. Now, this is --
this is -- yeah. [ Laughter ] Oh, [ chirp ]!
-[ Chirps ] You know,
it's like a cold pigeon... [ Laughter ] ...in New York City. O -- [ Chirping ] O -- [ Chirping ]
O -- [ Chirping ] O -- [ Chirping ]
-Okay. Now, now, now, now, is that three different
variations of O-[ Chirping ]? -Yes. -And what would be --
what would, like -- [ Chirping ]
What would that mean? -It's just like, you know, like,
it depends on the situation that you're in.
-Mm-hmm. -You know what I'm saying? Like, if somebody
checks somebody. -Oh, yeah.
-It's like -- O-- [ Chirping ]! [ Laughter ] I didn't know she had
all of that in her. O -- [ Chirping ]
-Oh, I see. It's almost like, "Okay?"
But -- -Yeah, okay, but "okay"
is played out. Okay?
-Yeah. We've done that already, yeah.
-We've done that already. -Why do "okay"?
You might as well go -- O -- [ Chirping ]
Yeah, okay, good. All right.
Now we all learned. Thank you, Cardi B.
This is fantastic. Now we know. [ Cheers and applause ] I love that.
