hey guys what's going on you're watching t-bone steak in this video we're going to be talking about using the canon a TD for professional video production now first thing we're going to talk about is video stabilization now you can shoot video on a $35,000 red camera and if your image is not stabilized it's going to be unusable so probably the most important thing that you're going to need to shoot professional video on the Canon AED is going to be a tripod or a monopod so right here is a great option this is a Manfrotto MVM 500a it has a fluid head system for nice vertical pans and nice horizontal pans and it's definitely crucial in my video production for current pricing and availability of this monopod make sure to click the link in description down below that's going to take you to Amazon next important thing is audio the built-in microphone on the Canon ad D isn't bad but it's definitely not good either that means we're going to need a shotgun microphone on the top of the camera if you want professional sounding audio this is going to be what your audio is going to sound like with all a shotgun microphone on the Canon 80 D it's not horrible but it's not good either so this is a shotgun that I had on top of the Canon 6d that I was filming on so you can get away with using this audio but as you guys are probably hearing right now it's not that good don't worry I'm going to put this microphone back on this camera in a second but first I have to show you something that's really cool with the Canon 80 d so this kin in a DD has a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack to monitor your audio while you're shooting so I use my bose qc25 noise cancelling headphones and plug them straight into my Canon ATD so it's as simple as taking your headphones plugging them right in and then when you're recording video you can easily monitor the audio that's coming in through the rode videomic pro or any other shotgun microphone you have on top of the again for current pricing and availability I'm going to have this megaphone linked in description down below the autofocus system on the Canon 80 D is amazing but whenever there is a subject that we can directly control we're normally going to want to shoot it in manual focus now that's not because the ad is bad at auto focusing it's just because I'm better at focusing then the camera is now if the subject is moving towards you and away from you then you might want to pop it in automatic focus mode and it's going to be very good but if we were in a situation where we can control the subjects then we're going to want to manually control the focus so we're going to put this camera into MF mode on the lens and now we can manually focus the lens so the first thing that people are usually going to do in manual focus mode is course going to focus at using the focus ring and just look at the LCD screen till it looks like it's in focus so right now the Oakley logo does look like it is in focus however it's most likely not tak sharp and that's what we want so we're going to hit this magnifying glass right here once and then we're going to press it again and it's going to zoom in five times and then we're going to press again to zoom in ten times and as you can see the Oakley logo is not clearly in focus so we're going to pull this into focus and make it tack sharp so you can see here it's tack sharp focus on the Oakley logo and having your subject in tack sharp focus is going to give you the best video now I'm going to show you how to get two subjects in focus so we can see here the first pair of sunglasses is in focus in the second pair is blurred now I want both of these sunglasses in focus so to do that we're going to stop down our aperture all the way to f-16 stubbing down our aperture is going to give us a deep depth of field so as you can see here both of these sunglasses are in focus now for the best cloudy video we want to shoot at whoa ISO numbers such as ISO 100 200 and 400 now the ad does perform very well when using high ISO such as 6400 or 12,800 however it's still best to stay away from using high ISO numbers going from iso 100 to 200 you double your noise and going from iso 200 to 400 you double your noise again every time you go a stop up in ISIL you're going to double your noise which is going to make your images look a lot more grainy unless crisp picture style does make a difference so you're just going to it menu and then we're going to go over to the three over here and we're going to select picture style now here is the user default one which I have customized so we're going to go into that I'm going to show you the settings that I use for my video I definitely recommend putting these exact settings in your camera and shooting almost all your video in it this is what controls are in camera color correction and we want to shoot it right rather than shooting it wrong and then going in in post and trying to edit it it's much better to just get your settings right in camera now you can mess around with these settings and find out what's best for you but these settings are by far the best that I've ever used for a type of video that is you so definitely play around with that and find what you guys like best now lastly I'm going to talk about shutter speed now shutter speed in video works the exact same way that it does in photography so using a slow shutter speed such as 165 a second is going to make our video more bori during movement and faster shutter speeds are going to freeze that movement so I'm going to take a quick demo right here and I'm going to do a relatively quick pan and pause the video right in the middle of the pan so when paused you can see it is blurry now we're going to shoot at one two hundred and do the same type of pan and as you guys can see here when pause the video is nice and clear so if you're shooting sports or Acts or something that you don't want to be blurred use a faster shutter speed when shooting your video however if you're shooting some type of action film you might want to shoot at a slower shutter speed because you might want fast movement to be blurred to make it look more our natural thank you guys so much for watching this video if you enjoyed it definitely make sure to hit that like button down below and of course subscribe to my channel if you guys want to be
