can you fix a blurry video until recently if you would have asked me this question I would have said no if you shot a blurry video then you're stuck with a blurry video but what if you're desperate because what if the video you shot couldn't be reshot we're going to take a look at a tool called hpaw video enhancer a tool that automatically upscales video with trained AI I'll put this to the test can find this at hip paw. net and I will say that this this isn't the only uh type of software that they have this is just the video enhancer portion it is AI powered and if you're looking on the site you can see that they have examples of like grainy videos that are kind of smoothed out and those are really good for like the more landscape views but then we also have uh blurry videos that they featured with the people and the pets so as I mentioned I was kind of desperate and I was searching for a solution because I had shot a video that was slightly out of focus it had actually focused on an object that was closer to the camera and it was completely my fault but it was shot and I couldn't re-shoot it and I was kind of freaking out because I didn't know if it's possible to actually enhance a video when it starts out as blurry so what this software does now it does say that it will let you try it for free and I'm on a Mac so I did try it for free really all it's going to let you do is have like a second preview of it so what I did is I shot a video that was slightly out of focus I'm going to show that to you next and then I ran it through some of their AI models and I'm going to show you what those look like so this should give you a pretty good sense of what it's like to use this product I can't imagine that this is going to be something that you would use every single day of your life if you're shooting videos all the time but it did help in a pinch and it could help you if you're in a similar situation so let's take a look at the video I'm going to show that next and I'm just going to kind of talk over it all right so here is the video that I shot and it's just me being kind of a goofball uh you're not going to hear any audio from the video but if you can look at it the computer screen is what I clicked on and the plant you can see that those two objects are in Focus but I am not so obviously not ideal situation that you want to have when you might be doing something for a client so I took the opportunity to run this through some models and I'm going to show you what that looks like now I also wanted to show you what the actual software looks like so when you download this to your computer you're going to have the software available and it's going to different options for you to get started so there's the video enhancer option and you just drag and drop your files in there and it's really to enlarge and repair the blurry videos that you have through AI they also have a couple of things that look like they're in beta uh AI background removal so if you're wanting to remove the background maybe you're trying to do something with green screen this could actually be something that you use a little bit more often than just fixing blurry videos so if that is a option that intrigues you then definitely check this out they have a magic sky so maybe you want to enhance the sky so if you have any landscape or outdoor shots that you really want to fix the sky this could also be an option for you and then they do just have video repair so you could eliminate flickering uh fix unplayable videos fix video screen loss video correction restore video sound and solve video lag so they do have some other options besides just the blurry video and so what you do is you'll click that and then you can drag a file to get started I'll show you what that process looks like I have my blurry example video that I'm just going to drag in here and then you're going to get the model options that you can choose from so you've got resolution that you can choose from so anywhere from 4K to you know a little bit more enhanced down to lower options like 720 or 1080P and then you also have a bit rate that you can choose the format that you want and then you can have you can choose where you want it to save your files so here we have the face model they've got a general denoise model so it kind of just enhances the overall quality they also have one for animation and they have other models that you could add to this so just looking at these pretty quickly uh that could be colorizing something or stabilizing low light enhancement things of that nature so let me go back so I going to start with the face model and I'll show you what that looks like and then I'll show you a couple more where I did a quality model as well so literally the only thing you have to do is hit export when you're ready to go but I will say I did this on a 5 and 1 half minute video and it took 3 and 1 half hours to process so by no means is this a super quick thing where you can just pop a video in you it will take some time if your video has any length to it so if it works best with super short videos and even if you just uploaded the portion or the clip of the video that you need to enhance I would recommend doing that rather than processing an entire video okay so here we go here is the face model as you can see my features are definitely a little bit more Min but I can see a lot of things that look fake I mean it does look like I'm kind of an animated character while I could probably get away with this I mean you can definitely tell that there's something not right I mean just look at that skin it's way too perfect but maybe you can get away with it because it saves a a bad video to begin with so here's the next one this one was called the quality enhancer model it for sure tried but it would not be passing as usable in my perspective so let me know what you think of those videos and if you think that's something that you would try just
