welcome to idiot sandwich uh in front of the amazing Caesar's Palace now today's challenge is to make the most amazing sandwich using shrimp get this thing right in the show stop but get it wrong it's like eating inside of a golf ball give it up for Matt first off warm welcome for Mona and finally Tyler right are we ready we're ready Che yes audience are we ready you're 20 minutes starts now [Music] so this is a big one right shrimp get this right it's a show stoper get it wrong and it's absolutely in edible I shrimp shrimp to me so and you know these things are sweet they're beautifully caramelized but more importantly it really does elevate a sandwich especially with shrimp right my darling how you feeling oh I'm feeling amazing great by the way thank you I got my wings on for everyone tell me about the sandwich what are you doing a creole shrimp gumbo sandwich is amazing how you cooking the shm um it's going to be sauté and I'm going to sauté with love let that sandwich fly I'm going to let it fly Gordon it's going to be good you're going to love it what how you going to cook these shrimp well I'm I'm going to blend them up first kind of make a Patty kind of like a shrimp um like a shrimp uh cake you know I love that take on a Mississippi slug Burger the first ever world record I sat I love that so we're going to make it happen you're a recipient of multiple World Records right you eat so much how can you stay so thin what what's the secret and it's a full-time job that that's everybody thinks the hard part to eat the hard part to work it off I love that I can't wait to pop in and see how this thing's going good luck got it right uh where's Tyler this guy used to be a professional chef tell me about the sandwich what are you doing doing a Nordic inspired Skagen sandwich it's my take I'm I love doing central European and northern European foods and you know we only got 20 minutes not not not three days what are you planting there what's in here so that's going to be uh Citrus stock to the shrimp wow man this is technical we're going poach the shrimp ice bath it love it and then from there dress it in a very nice herbaceous sauce love that and what's the bread how we going to S me do thing together it's going to be a toasted Bri toasted and clarified butter that's going to have the crunch that we're looking for it's going to be two slices of bread I caught it I've still got it in the bag but you have to be mindful you know your competition don't underestimate them years of cooking professionally prior to this I've gotten very comfortable with a knife and especially too little things your chives being at a nice Cut Chef's going to be looking for stuff like that right how's this going coming along well Chef uhhuh you it's it's a it's a depressiona burger where any put any protein in there some cornmeal it cost the slug back in the day you said it oh gotcha so it's a depressing burger or depression it's a depression oh depression the story they cost the nickel back in the day love that love that love that but using great shrimp right what you seasoned it with just some salt and pepper simple yeah I we've got some mustard to go on top uh some some pickles and some onions how do we get into World Championship eating where was the first moment that actually started I got paid $1,000 eat some lob all so after that you can't quit and you eat very fast what's the what's the world record for hot dogs world record for hot dogs I think is um about I think 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes get a get a little big the bread as well yep bread and the hot dog dunk it in water you drink it just ice cold water it's not pretty but it's a competition the drenaline gets you I'm making some R baby you got to have r if you're going to make a Louisiana favorite like this you got to have room Mona let's go girl come on you got this I'm coming woohoo how are those shrimp the shrimp are we are putting a root it's a gum it's gumbo have you been smoking I'm an idiot yes come on about to get the slow burgers on the pan I've cooked a lot of food but it's never been like for Taste it's overwhelmed butter let me have my butter she's doing a r I would not personally put a r in a sandwich H I'm loving the idea of Tyler's um he's done like a water bath blast these shrimps in Citrus water uh and Mt looks good it's almost like a sort of shrimp burger he's doing beautiful so fingers crossed and minutes away from crowning Our Idiot sandwich what makes the great sandwich good bread it has to be a little bit toasted nothing soggy and then the right amount of um mustard and Ma yes Tyler has changed his up he's gone from shrimp sandwich to a finger sandwich he just slic his finger off I know and that's my mom what Mona is my mom what Mona is your mom sh Mona is is your sister no it's my mom that's my that's my daughter okay I gotta cook I gotta cook you must be very happy you guys go play you have an amazing Mom thank you honestly has she ever made this sandwich for you no she hasn't is she guessing this or is it she's improvising that's how you got to do it is it legit start off with Matt now that looks beautiful it's really simple it's just the shrimp cornmeal some onions uh chives uh some pickles mustard some red uh red vinegar onions on top ready ready ready 1 two 3 go oh that's good mom's watching mom's watching um listen I love the acidity I think what you're done with the shrimp it's beautiful I was a bit nervous when you started blending them up but there's a really nice flavor there PR good job yeah better than I thought well done don't speak with your mouthful well done now okay right what's this uh what's this thing called This is a creole shrimp gumbo sandwich Wow Let's have a little fite each let's go for it oh my gosh oh so good this is amazing it's dripping it's sweet it's delicious this is the sandwich that is going to take the World by storm this is like this will be on everyone's menu from today you can even use it for your men restaurants you have my permission come here on the side there you go oh thank you thank you daring my man okay uh visually wow that looks good love that little tastey together thanks Chef uh come on how good does that look L gentlemen seriously man and what's the dressing dressing is a dill sauce with creem fresh Mayo lemon zest salt white pepper and wow beautifully Toasted bage Bun and a side of Swedish pickles ni Happy Chef I am happy with that sandwich actually I am happy with it then
