CAMPING in the Heavy Rain - STORM - RAIN - THUNDER - TENT Camping

it's pouring it's been raining  consistently since we got here lots of rain there everyone welcome back to the channel  once again we're out camping in the rain   and it's coming down pretty heavy Victoria's  here with me hey guys welcome back um me we   got a pretty nice cruisy walk about 2 hours  up the valley we're going to sit up the tent   and the top and get a little campfire going as  usual but the conditions aren't exactly nice   and and my camera's going to get real wet so  I'm going to have to put that away and we'll   come back to you I think further down the valley  and when we're sitting up camp but yeah rather [Applause] wet [Applause] this is my uh carabina setup  so I've got just a little one here this   replaces every single knot in Bushcraft history  just Loop that around on itself and a line lock   so this is modern camping guys no worry about  learning you know buack knots this and that   you just HCK it on tighten it up like I'm  about to do and you're good to [Applause] [Applause] go shelter all right we're all set up at least Sheltering  the tent but there's quite a lot of rain coming   down it's actually it's very weak all right  everyone I'm going to get out sleeping Garett   got our big tent floor M from Big Agnes  yeah that's our go to pad now I think   especially when we're not doing massive  tricks out into the into the bush it's so comfortable I've got my old Mac Pack puffer jacket on  for this truck thought I'd get it out of the   closet test out this old one it's not going  to be as cold as it is way up on the top so   I should be all right in this but Victoria's  got a nice hardcore RAB one out so she's got   to be warm but it's pretty rough conditions  here it's not exactly a pleasant summer's   day but tent set up inside's looking cozy so  I think it's time for a nice cup of tea that   sounds good yeah something warm but the  clouds it's just dark and miserable out [Applause] there I think it's time for a coffee the rain sort  of eased a little bit which is quite nice so   yeah maybe it's time to get a bit of wood  as well yeah it's coming back though but   I'll show you this this is my um the this  is my special Colombian beans that I roast   up at home so that's a 30 G dose so we get that  Brewing up in the V60 and hopefully the weather   improves but it's kind of typical spring New  Zealand where you get rain snow wind hail and   then it's sunny all over the place yeah but  there's a breeze coming through you probably   see this TP moving around a b it's quite  cold the coffee will be nice it warm us up   to get that on and then I'll probably  be running around in the rain getting wood this is Gourmet Coffee gouret Gourmet Bush coffee this jacket is definitely not as  warm as my other one I'm feeling quite toy [Applause] I'm really cold the bad weather's come back and  the tarps just blowing all over the place so I   think what I'm going to do is get one of my extra  carabinas I'll put it into one of the tie outs and   tighten it up and hopefully it stops that side of  the top lifting up and blowing around in the wind   but it's way colder than I thought it was going  to be we've got our hoods right up cuz it's just   it's chilly a Victoria's got a beanie on as well  I think I'm going to have to take my pants off   cuz they're all wet put on my dry ones with some  long johns and a few more layers I'll get this   top sorted and then I'll probably sulk around with  my saw collecting some wood I think you can see I   got the fire pit here and it's quite far away from  the tent but I want to bring it back a little bit   underneath the top cuz we're going to be cooking  over the fire tonight so I'll move these rocks and   I'll get them about here and build but it should  be way better my hand going to get filthy from the ash [Applause] 0:08:59.200,1193:02:47.295 [Applause] yes I'm absolutely drenched I've been running  around in this torrential rain Gathering up   the wood as you can see I've got a pretty  good amount I mean these are pretty thick   logs and they're quite dry I found a big  dear tree but the rain's coming down so   heavy now but I think I like the fire  Victoria's been in the tent cuz she's   cold and we've been set I'll talk about it  more later but we're quite drained so this   is really hard work I'll start building  up this fire I'll probably light it now you hear the Wickers man the temperature is really dropping now   it's probably snowing on the tops it was  forecast from about 10 cm way up in the mountains the weather has intensified again there's  a pretty strong Breeze coming through the   campsite you can see the smoke it's just  like trailing off this way but the fire's   going pretty good almost got out of hand before  and came up and hit the top so I had to kick on   it just to like dye down the Flames a bit  but there's some good heat coming out of   it um I don't have a whole lot of wood so got  to just keep it going at a low level so we're   going to cook the sausages on it later but it's  Grim conditions guys pretty good for camping though cup of tea so nice Cheers Cheers  everyone cheers to you guys we've   brewed ourselves up a nice big wa man  it's so much rain it's pretty stor go if you guys watch the channel regularly you're  probably thinking that's quite a reasonable fire   that I've built this time and you can see it's  quite close to us but it's a lot smaller you've   kept it under control which is amazing for once  yeah it's cuz there's not much wood here so I   had to be like sensible you know but I think we  still have enough to keep this little fire going   for quite a while and it means we can actually  sit close to it and not be in The Inferno yeah   but guys guess what digestives as always yeah they  really help with digestion I find you well they're   called digestives but you know it's kind of our  camping treat we don't oh what are you up to they   broken my peack a bit get one out here we go oh  there you go there's there's a piece of digestive   on a diet how this is working out have the other  piece but yeah like I was saying earlier we were   quite sick that's why I didn't post a video I  usually do a weekly video but we had um a tummy   bug it was terrible yeah it was about 3 days  of being in Bard and on the toilet so no video   you'll be watching this later on but that's why  we didn't post and that's why maybe we're a little   bit more subdued today it's also why I had a nice  wi nap before in the tent I was really tired but   it's just one of those things you know sometimes  you get sick can't really help it but yeah this   has been a pretty cool Camp so far it's pretty  stormy but we're quite sheltered in this spot so we're dealing with it quite well oh  look at that I love dunking biscuit and   to especially digestives cuz the wheaty  biscuit just goes to a really nice texture   soaked up tea chocolate melts what more  could you want it's very British I think   I'm British about 15% of the viewers are from  the motherland so you guys like seeing us eat biscuits actually what you could put in  the comments is your favorite biscuit   suggestion I've asked this before I Like  Biscuits I want to try some new biscuits   so tell us what is your favorite biscuit  you get all these suggestions but in New   Zealand supermarkets we don't have access to the  elaborate selection of biscuits that I think the   UK has but there's wers prowling fire's going  great and I'm finally sitting down with my cup   of tea we chill out enjoy this and come back  to you for I don't know maybe dinner time or something it is whiskey time I got my little  silver ant flask and we've got some delicious   telesca yeah this is wh in I keep saying it's  the last of it but this actually is the last of   it is it the last few drops oh no hey hey hey  give some over here o it's nice you know what   everybody have a toast for the defeat of the  labor government in New Zealand you know it's   this Channel's about camping but I just can't  help myself it was it fantastic night yeah to   see those look I don't really like them man and  I think the consensus in New Zealand is too the   labor government which was led by jender and  then over taken by Chris Hipkins has now been   destroyed eviscerated they got 25% of the vote  so see you later so now we can camp in peace and   we can celebrate Christopher luxen and new prime  minister yeah so that's just a little side note   from me um I mean most people won't be from  New Zealand that are watching this but it's   very exciting for us CU we've been under this  tyranny the last six years you you may have   um you probably know who just send her a d is  boots out some people probably love her and in   New Zealand some people did but it was like an  abusive relationship she was a she was insane   and look people were terrified into voting for  her I believe so to have to have that era over   with you know for me is just a great thing so  I'm going to sit here enjoy this whiskey and   sa seeing Chris Hipkins cry when he gave his  concession speech last night and some of you   aren't going to like me saying this and if  you don't leave the channel because I don't yeah we're just waiting for the fire to die  down get some nice ERS before we cook   our weener dogs um over the coals over the  coals yes and I've got um two brown onions   which are going to going to chop these  up and caramelize them in the pan and   then over the fire we've got some uh First  Slice First Slice Farms Wago beef sausages   and we're going to put them in the hot dog  so it's going to be something new for the   channel and it's going to be delicious so  holy cow rainstorm storm's coming in B are [Applause] nice our sausages and onions are ready yeah these  are these are caramelized nicely they smell so   nice I wish you could smell it at home yeah but  if you want to smell it Go cook yourself some   caramelized onions some sausages and the hot dogs  man have them with us okay this is the um this is   a great brand this is the Brios that I have  with the burgers but we've got them in little   buns hot dog rolls good we've got six which is  excessive but I am excessive sold to yourself   with the excessive there's two niy uh I'd do  four yeah sex would be too much hey these are   pretty cool they've got a split right in the top  that's where my hot dog's going to hot dog's going   to go right in the perfectly designed so what  we'll do is I think these are pretty well done wieners just place it in there we have  to snap it oh my gosh they're quite stiff   stiff little dogs there you go look at  that nice I'll do mine grab yours and   then what we do is is the too hot to just  grab or not go I've got a bunch of oh my   fingers are all greasy in here I've got  Hines American mustard and I've got hind ketchup so we'll go on there with the ketchup there you go Victor  just give mine a little split   I'm pretty excited about this the rain's  falling heavy m there you go w we have a Rapture then we get on the  mustard these look amazing   not going to lie I'm very very excited about this have a bit more mustard on there you half of what you've got I'm to show  you this before I put the onions on oh look see that that's cool the rain all  of a sudden has come come on with a fury load us up that one sweet okay guys here we go going to show them  with the onions on N it's raining too much hot dogs I'll give you a we close up of  mine that my friends is looking very delicious man they taste nice I  think I'm going to have to take   my gloves off to eat these I feel  like it's just going to get all over me oh my goodness golly it's cold feel  like the temperature plummeting as we speak those first like thumbs what  are they waggo sausages that's   so nice they're quite juicy for a sausag real juicy this feels like real luxurious  like real Gourmet kiwis new zealanders   we have sausages in like a slice of white  bread there like a typical you find like   down at your local store there's always  it's just a sausage in a slice of white   bread and onions and maybe some onions  and some sauce but this just makes it   look so much more gour the Brios elevates  the dish cuz it's sweet and like kind of buttery still got two more but I think I mean these are easy  to make cooking them on the fire as well   gives them like that extra bit kind of flavor  this is something special over here I'm loving [Music] [Applause] it whoa it's thundering and lightninging woohoo it's snowing up on the tops and there's Big  Thunder booming in we've rekindled the fire it's   so nice yeah it's going real good now I can see  there snow up there I won't be able to show you   on this camera cuz I don't have the zoom L on but  there was a bit of hail before accumulating on the top there's more Thunder that's pretty loud WOW right right up on the  mountains it is just good what   an experience oh man I kind of much I  was way from the top of the mountain now all right so dinner was dinner was amazing um  hot dogs were a success uh they are quite easy   to do as well so might do them again I think  we'll definitely do those or at least at least   use those sausages because they're tasty and  simple real like juicy he yeah oh my mic yeah   juicy peppery beefy nice it's getting dark though  which is pretty good it's been it's been a lovely   Camp really what are youing Victoria I'm really  enjoying it I just want to say as well everyone   who wished me happy birthday in the last video  thank you um a lot of people were guessing my   age which is quite funny because you know it's not  every day you ask keeps of people on the internet   what do you think my ages some of the comments  he was a little bit upset with I have to say   somebody said 45 I mean not 45 they must have  been trolling most of them are pretty accurate   between about 28 and 30 32 I'm 31 so you know  there you go pretty good audience good on you   guys we got this cup of tea BR we'll have that  and then have some more biscuits and I'm looking   forward just to chilling out it's relaxing by  this fire is so nice let it Let the Fire do   its thing and then we'll probably just have  the most coziest night sleep yeah p a pet of   rain on the top always lovely let this bro we'll  come back to you when we're having our biscuits   it's almost snowing down here I mean we're not  low we're at about 900 m above sea level which   we're pretty much we're in the mountains but  we're not on the top of the mountains like in   this beautiful little Valley just tucked down  from the tops but it's all it's all white up   around the tops of the hills it must be snowing  yeah it's cold got to be absolutely freezing down here we were just saying if we didn't have this  fire we'd be sulking in the tent we would be   miserable totally and utterly miserable you  definitely need it but this is just warming   warming my body warming my soul warming my spirit  it's dried me out pretty good too like that was   as you can tell absolutely sated from my wood  Gathering I was dripping wet but now now I'm   actually kind of dry I think this cool I built I  spent quite a long time building up these rocks   to make a real nice big wide open fire pit  which is works pretty good it I don't know   it kind of reflects heat back at me also stops  the the wind hitting it right down the bottom   so that's nice do you know what I enjoyed  what I went to the tent and I had a we nap   and nothing was set up out here and then when I  woke up there was wood in this beautiful fire P   it just magically appeared yeah I was thinking it  must be nice being Victoria like I'm so good it's   my job to do the fire and like I'm going to do  it no matter what so Victoria gets to go camping   and get a f it's great it's pretty good tradeoff  normally I help but I was actually very exhausted   today in the last video Queen of wood okay we  get this tea going where's your cup over here yeah it's [Applause] cold and then I think after  this I want to get into beat it's pouring it's been raining  consistently since we got here lots of rain I think I'll title the  video camping in The Heavy Rain cuz that's what we're doing  it's not even click by it is it all it's time to get into bed that's really  cold it's colder now well I feel colder   than I do when I'm like up from the tops  in the snow which is kind of strange you   would think when there's snow falling it'd  be colder but I'm just I think it's just   damp and windy and maybe we're just still a  bit weak from being sick but we're going to   pack down get into the tent I think vior  how are you good but I'm cold freezing getting into a tent at night's a bit harder  than getting into Bard at home but once you   lie down and you're in the bed well in the  T T it is very nice this is the tent and we   are cozy now so cozy in here I'm warm for once  I love all the liting the little fairy lights   in the top of yeah these things not sure  if you can see them or not but it's just   the ambience you know I'm all about the  experience and the ambience of the camp   but yeah 10th floor we got our -1° which  I think is 30 f or1 c so there's a wicker   there oh my goodness see that big guy he's a  big battle hardened wicker that one oh see I   told you going have to be on high alert look  at those claws could probably tear my throat out New Zealand's Predator anyway that's what  we're dealing with big giant predator bird known   as wicker wer yeah so yeah we'll probably just  go to sleep I'd say it's not super late but we're   tired from having gastro intestinitis or whatever  it is but all in all good camp what do you reckon   Victor it's been really fun it's just nice to get  out again and relax in nature especially after the   last couple of weeks oh my God that's right below  the tripod I could have just grabbed it by the head anyway guys that's the bird we're not  going to eat him and we're not going to be   mean to him we just have to endure him and  hope that he doesn't steal our breakfast   or our coffee or anything important if he  takes my pancakes far out oh I think the   coffee would be worse to be honest yeah true  it's freaking me out already this is the tent   you guys you know you've seen it before if  you watch our videos um I'll spin the camera around sorry for the shaking but here's  the nice quote and Ah that's my Sandfly   device which I didn't need yeah the strip  lights the more lights all the lights but   we're going to go to bed um thanks for watching  guys we'll see you in the morning and I have awoken to an absolutely  stunning morning there's not a cloud in the   sky and there's a bit of snow on the tops  and it's very cold but I had probably one   of the best sleeps I've ever had in the tent  ever I was so cozy in here I still want to   get upor is hibernating behind me but it's  so nice here just to be out in the bush can   see up to the mountains and I'm so warm man  oh so nice I got big pancakes for breakfast   but right now I might have a coffee from beard  and just enjoy being out here listening to the stream morning bro oh man this is a 10 out of 10 camping  experience I would say delicious coffee perfect   morning Victoria's with me would you like coffee  Victoria she's awake now but she's still cuddled up oh man I can feel it already this coffee  tastes like black current blackberries like   dark berries bit of peachin and then  like some nice sweet dark chocolate   very high quality Colombian Bean such  a trick to have it out here in the [Applause] bush good morning everybody we are up and out  of the tent and we just made here a cup of tea   actually yes it's a chilly morning I don't  know if you can see but a BRI is Flowing out   and there's the snow up there and there's a  bit of a breeze still coming through so it's   quite cold but we got sun coming down and to  the campsite which is actually very very nice   I went for a we walk just before sort of up  the valley a we bit to see the snow see what   it was like and it was just beautiful yeah it's  great here but the pancakes is what we're going   to do Mrs Rogers this is the first for me I'm  going to put chocolate chips on them and maple   syrup so we have this cup of tea then we get  cooking on the pancakes and then we'll eat   them it's going to be nice but it's cool just to  be out in a peaceful morning with Sun instead of   storm especially after last night yeah I had a  great sleep though real good sleep what about   you I had a terrible sleep why why I don't  know I think the um pad was a little bit THM   I will put some extra air in and because he's  much bigger than I am he sort of pushes down   on the pad so it makes the other side very  firm for me yeah oh maybe we have to tricep pads this is uh this is faux Canadian as if it needed more sweetness so I got my poax titanium Cutlery if  you guys want lightweight Cutlery this stuff is awesome look at this nice little or  knif cut it up what's it like it's very fluffy 8.5 right it's good that's real good what would it need to make it a team not sure n it's real good [Music] bacon fluffy sweet white vanilla a little bit crispy all right my chocolate chip for look at that crumbs okay so I  on to my second one give it the drizzle and then I think what we got two more  we two more so you can have three I'll have   two but I think you know we're going to have  these pancakes and enjoy it this Camp's been   super chilled out well actually not really it  was kind of like a rainstorm yesterday but it   seems chilled out cuz we weren't on top of the  mountain but I'm going to enjoy these indulge   relax in this bush environment and we'll come  back to say goodbye but thanks for coming along   everyone hope
