Camp Breakfast in One Cast Iron Skillet

hey welcome to the back was gourmet today we're day tripping out at Washington Oaks Garden State Park it's breakfast time we're gonna do it in some cast iron and the Sportsman's grill so y'all stay tuned [Music] so this place is home of the only rocky beach that I know of in the state of Florida especially maybe some down south that I don't know of but here we have Coquina Rock right on the beach it's beautiful show you a few clips of that here coming up all right so this very special place very overlook place is just south of marine land so a lot of folks visit st. Augustine nation's oldest city that's right up the road so if you're visiting st. Augustine and you like nature and you would like to see that rocky beach like you're not gonna see anywhere else just take a 1 a south of st. Augustine Beach and you're gonna find it right on a 1 [Music] so today we're gonna cook up for real outdoors we already got our camp made portable charcoal chimney going there and yes there's the Sportsman's grill even though we got these old grills here you know this is your you know your standard camp grill you're gonna have at most campgrounds they're always nasty the lease the folks that nice folks here do take care of these had a conversation with them earlier really nice folks so bringing a sportsman's grill you know it's gonna be halfway clean we're just gonna use the first stove today so it doesn't really matter we're gonna get this charcoal going and cook up some baking legs and some fried potatoes my favorite hey well our fires gonna get ready you're gonna go ahead and just cut our potatoes I'm gonna do them like my grandma used to do is gonna start taking them off at angle you know right into the pan we already put a little oil in there I also got some venison sausage to go in here after these get started a little bit so camp ways you know you're you're out here DayTripper camping you know you know deep no reason to get fancy nice clean potatoes and clean hands just dice them chokers right into your pan I don't have to be pretty all you have to do is taste good [Music] [Music] go check on this real quick [Music] now they're Bacon's done I'm going to take the skillet off the fire put it over on the picnic table we'll start our eggs over there fresh eggs from our chickens never even been in the frigerator yeah plenty of heat we use the back of the shelf keep your yolks in the middle makes me easier flip it's gonna upset there for a minute still have not returned these to the fire looking pretty awesome I like mine over easy see if we can flip them looks like they're gonna fall apart fail well now that they're separate not quite done enough on that one yet I might stick them back on the fire just a second here we go just gonna let them finish up stuck them back on the fire for like a minute I'll tell you cooking out here basically a wilderness we're the only ones here and cooking up some food on the old cast-iron over real fire it's a real treat it's a lot of people ask why you go through all this trouble just for breakfast speaker to stop at McDonald's or Denny's it's not the same thing well if some of you guys know that there's something about specially breakfast cooked outside a camp big tripping like we are today on you know some good old cast-iron it just tastes better [Music] [Music] [Music] you like what we're doing please that like button right down there to subscribe to our channel you can do it right over here to see another great backwoods gourmet videos right up there and for a whole playlist cast aren't a Dutch oven cooking right up there we'll see you next time [Music]
