CAMMED Silverado Build!

what's going on guys welcome to the channel if you're new here subscribe this channel is basically going to be Automotive content this will be my first real video on the channel and if you guys don't already know this is my 2001 Silverado single cap short bed dad's gonna get a built motor that's right over there and a built that's on the other side and hopefully this thing can finally make some decent power and be a cool little Street Chuck that's basically what I'm going for with this build just a cool Street truck that you can still daily just a little background in this engine this is a fully rebuilt 5.3 liter LS Pistons rods bigger cam ported heads the whole nine yards motor should be pretty reliable and make pretty good power that's exactly what I'm going for for this sort of Street Truck application you'd say and the pair up with that beautiful motor I have right over there I have a built transmission from RPM Transmissions still running the 4l60 don't really feel like doing the four ladies swap so we'll see how this transmission does and that's basically where I'm at right now built motor built transmission and now I'm just waiting on a couple other parts to finish up the build it should be a pretty cool build I'll make sure to record as much as I can so you guys can follow along with me and with that being said let's jump into the video all right so we're back I got the trans bolted to the back of the motor I hope this guy big thanks Craig my boy I think the motor's just about ready to go on the truck I'm gonna set up a little time lapse for you guys so stick around for it [Music] one all right so it's been a couple days since that last time lapse but uh got some stuff done off camera got some of the accessories put on kind of mapped out the wiring harness to see where everything needs to go just gonna throw on the water pump real quick put on the neutral safety switch for the transmission and that'll just be a couple more things knocked off the list so here's the time lapse of that [Music] all right quick intermission between that time lapse just want to update you guys I actually just got in my mishimoto radiator which is already installed I didn't really need to show you guys but it's in there all brand new hardware um that's all good to go this is the old one this thing's junk anyways um don't know if I showed you guys that but that's my upgrade transmission cooler it's all good we got the am fittings already in going good so far I'll see you guys in the next clip just got the new radiator fans in the mail gotta hook those up and I think tonight I'm gonna put the front clip back on the truck as you can see I got some of the accessories put back on this is all good to go everything's already torqued headers already torqued all the connectors down below into the trans already done and fittings are done from the transmission all the way to the radiator right over there and then on the other side to the trans cooler foreign just got a package in the mail from PCM it's the wiring harness that goes to my electric fans if you guys didn't know this truck came with a fan clutch which is all shitty broken over there nobody wants that so we're gonna have nice new electric fans in the truck now save some room in the engine bay too to look a lot better but uh today I'm gonna do a little bit of wiring I'm going to try to record um pretty difficult recording on my phone I don't have like a phone or anything but I'll see what I can do are we going to try to Time Lapse this or something so enjoy the clips all right so on to the next one I'm going to plug into blue 42 located right there where my finger is all these wires are numbered so it's pretty easy to do already got it started so I just have to finish pushing it the rest of the way through and it'll pop out right there all right so I have the pin all the way through right here it's not going anywhere I'm going to put this little blue locking cover back on this should just slip right back on like so do a little click and it's good to go wire isn't going anywhere and now we have both sections of these connectors pinned for the fans all right so I just finished tapping into this wire that goes to the AC basically done with the entire kit the rest is just power and ground power goes right there into that little box and it'll be grounded to one of those bolt holes right there put a bunch of packages in the full exhaust comes from Speed Engineering as you can see and I just got my dieselworks injectors in I'm gonna install those right now the installation is pretty simple package came with a little tube of Grease what you want to do is just get a little bit and you're going to want to apply that little bit of grease to the O-rings there's two of them on the top and bottom make sure you don't get it on the inside of this and you just pop it right in it goes in like so pretty simple [Music] all right foreign [Music] stuff like that really stoked about this throttle body too I never had anything Holly the first Holley piece on this truck a lot of exciting things for me it might be small to you guys but I think it's pretty cool all right guys so quick update got part of the exhaust in only thing I have left are these kind of extension pipes and these cheap caps that I'm going to throw on so I hopefully pass emissions just keep Amazon cast project I'm tackling now is my fuel pump just came in which is right there on the chair there I don't feel like dropping the tank and I don't have anybody here to take the bed off and this bed's already beat up it's caught up and into it's destroyed I need a new bed so for the sake of time management I'm just gonna cut the square out exactly where the fuel pump goes into the tank pretty dumb idea I don't recommend you do this you know especially grinding cutting metal with you know gasoline nearby it definitely isn't the smartest thing but uh you guys don't come here for me being smart you guys come here to see cooler stuff [Music] foreign it to be easy access to the fuel pump and the tank in general all the wiring [Music] float down first rest to the tanks [Music] I'm Gonna Leave This exactly like that and tomorrow I will pick up the block ring this top piece that's all rusty today we are gonna Prime the engine for the first startup I think tonight I'm gonna try to start it already filled up the air compressor got to put oil in this canister then hug the compressor up to this this line is already fed all the way into the side of the block via this port with an adapter I took one of the valve covers off so we can see the oil when it comes out of the the ports up top here on the Rockers yeah that's the project for tonight big steps today really excited all right so the motor's fully primed the primed oil coming out of every single Galley on both sides so I'm gonna throw the valve covers back on fill the truck up with some fuel and then after that I think I'm gonna go for the first start [Music] all right guys so we're in the viewing room the dyno as you can see the truck is strapped down now he's getting all set up inside be able to monitor power numbers what the truck's doing so report that as we're doing poles really exciting stuff [Music] um I don't know where I left off in the video but uh you basically should have saw the entire process of building this I tried to record as much as I can hopefully you guys kind of got the gist of what's going on with the entire truck but this is basically what's going to be you know a quick drive kind of show you guys what the truck is capable of it's nothing crazy see I got the burners on today everything works okay just work [Music] I do have a random misfa I think the random misfires from the Holley sniper throttle body that I'm using I had a couple people DM me and say that they had issues with it it only really misfires at idle per se are really really low RPMs when I'm going slow like say there's a big lip right there when I go slow the truck I want to stall out but car on the RPMs afrs look good truck doesn't really skip a beat so I've just been running it is yeah enough talking I'm gonna get to some driving clubs all right guys we're on the road but the truly audio is good [Music] to start doing some fun stuff for you guys a little bit once the truck gets you know it's kind of wanted temperature wise I'm kind of a secluded area get a burger I think I have a 2600 salt converter but you know I don't have any slicks on so I get no traction at that [Music] [Music] thank you yeah she definitely goes pretty good that was from a dead stop to 70 right there nice one first and second I don't know if you guys know this I was like maybe a truck isn't too bad the truck made 320 320 so a 300 horsepower 300 torque to the wheels um it's like perfect power for a deal that's what wanted to shock to be I want it to be a daily with some power and two burnouts here and there because it does exactly what I wanted to do [Music] [Music] so you don't talk about what's installed great foreign [Music]
