C++ WinForms for Visual Studio 2022 (Getting started)

hello everyone welcome back once again in this video we will look at getting started with c plus windows forms or wind forms applications inside the visual studio 2022 we will look at the necessary components needed needed for us to get started but before we get started please make sure that you subscribe to the channel if you haven't so let's get to it then so windows forms or winforms is a ui framework for building windows desktop applications it provides one of the productive ways to create desktop applications based on the visual designer provided in the visual studio and c plus is a general purpose programming language for creating small to large scale applications and for this video obviously you'll be using the visual studio 2022 so the visual studio is an integrated development environment ide from microsoft which is used for building mobile apps web apps desktop apps etc so rather than just talking too much let's get to it then so as you can see on the screen i've got visual studio 2022 opened so this is how we we got on so first of all we click on the we're using the the community 2022 the version 17 to 5. so you can use anything from here or anything apples so we go ahead by clicking on the modify so here we go we have to make sure that we have this box checked the desktop development with c plus so this will actually help you build modern c plus plus applications for windows using twos of your choice including msvc sealant cmake and esseter so once you've got that be sorted out you scroll up here you look for the net desktop development so you have to make sure you have this box checked as well so this will actually help you build wpf windows forms and whatnot yeah so once you have this bit sorted out make sure you come to the next download so nest is obviously we go ahead and launch the visual studio so here we continue without code so as you can see we've got a blank visual studio open with our code so on the top menu we look for extensions then we click on extensions then we click on we also click on the manage extensions so this will actually display a couple of extensions that you can install to use with your c outreach or visual studio so for our master we select on the online and then we select on the uh we expand the visual studio marketplace then we expand the templates so we select the visual c plus plus so here as you can see here we've got a bunch of extensions that we can install to to actually use so here we're going to install the c plus windows forms for visual studio 2022.net framework so this actually extends the visual studio by windows forms projects written in c plus yeah so here we click on the download so this will actually download the extension so we close and then we close the visual studio so this will actually initiate the installation process so as you can see here we've got here we can we're gonna click on the modifier so as you can see we've got the installation completed so what we do next is we we launch the visual studio again okay so now we can create a new project so here if we select c plus windows and then the project types let's select desktop so let's see if we can find the the wind forms here so as you can see here we don't have any project templates showing here so this is how we can find a project template so we just go back all we set to our projects and all platforms here so we scroll down we have a look again so it's still not here so we actually come back and put it at all languages and then we scroll down again so as you can see i mean it should we can type it but i just want to show you something or maybe i just passed it so we we know so we type win forms so as you can see here now we've got cpp cll winforms project yeah so it's kind of is a bit to find it yeah so here we can select on we can select this project yeah gold nest so here obviously you can configure your project details so we click on the create so here as you can see we've got our c plus plus winforms project created here it's got nothing inside so we have the resource files which contain the update icon or app dot so here we've all got all the icons and whatnot inside then we've actually got um the the source files so here this contains our source file yeah so as you can see we've got nothing inside here so as you can see we have nothing inside here so this is basically to to get you started with wind farms for c i mean c plus plus and wind farms yeah so we can run it by clicking on the f5 so as you can see here now we've got our first windows forms project with c plus plus yeah so as you can see it's very it's not difficult to get you started yeah so i'm just gonna leave the video here ask this just to get you started here so i'll make more video on this topic later on so once again if you haven't subscribed to the channel please make sure you do because i've got lots of videos coming up and i hope you have a lovely morning afternoon even wherever you are peace
