in this video I'm going to discuss a are magazines or one magazine specifically that would be the C products stainless steel 30 round magazine I have a new one here in packaging and see ships and just a clear plastic bag which I'm going to open since you saw what it looks like so no fancy packaging here with this magazine you can see this is a light black finish looks just like standard GI magazine with a orange Magpul follower actually this particular follower is a Magpul licensed design the actual Magpul followers are do not fit in these stainless steel magazines because the stainless steel with thinner than a limo so see products actually licensed the anti-tilt follower design from Magpul and they built an identical one same material same design just a little bit bigger to fit the rest stainless steel magazines i have first off i i've used a lot of different types of magazines cult aluminum GI magazines used a lot of those Magpul Jen - Jen three magazines and see products aluminum and see products stainless steel also use some other miscellaneous magazines and I won't go into but during the last magazine crisis or assault weapon crisis magazine crisis I sold off a lot of my magazines so I've scaled down to three types of magazines and be gen2 Magpul polymer mags gen3 Magpul polymer mags and the stainless steel c-max so that's pretty much all I have now I've gotten rid of everything else since we're focusing on this video it's focusing on the C products we'll just say that I have shot easily through individual magazines four to five hundred rounds I don't have an exact number because obviously I comb my magazines I also store a good quantity of these magazines loaded I've got magazines that have been loaded for well over pushing two years now I've got magazines have been loaded for two years in you know my bug-out bags and things like that and just recently I actually took five of those magazines that would probably 1819 months they've been stored fully loaded 30 rounds took them down to the range shot them no problems at all so long-term storage with these with the springs of these views or not the the C products magazines use is not a problem and why is that why is that that is because these magazines use a chrome silicon spring and they are specifically designed not to weaken over time when stored loaded standard stainless steel springs as in the GI magazines will and I've experienced that it's different specifications you know the GI magazine sustainless steals their Specht out specifically to aid in anti rusting a silicon stainless steel spring could rust so but the military you know they're not concerned with long-term storage of loaded magazines they look at the magazines is is consumable products I mean I don't I don't remember the specific specifications but I believe the military expects aluminum magazines to last like through 40 uses or something like that I read that in one of their technical manuals so they aren't designed for long-term use or long-term storage or anything else so let's see see products stainless steel magazines they're all done by machine they're stamped and cut by machine they're held by machines they use robotics for welding the magazine assemblies are cleaned after they're cut and put together the process is all automated so there there isn't a lot of manual assembly of these so consistency from magazine the magazine is is much higher this way see products also make manufacturers magazines for stag arms lit nor wise lit nor wise in case you're not familiar with them they actually they make a lot of lowers and OAM products for like Palmetto State armory as an example see products makes magazines for saber defense lewis machine and tool it's LMT and alexander arms it might be more those are just the companies that I'm aware of at this point the the finish again here they're not gray magazines like the usgi magazines these are a flat black I found this black kind of matches most lower receivers pretty well color-wise excuse me all a second I'm just to adjust in my camera a little bit here make sure that you can hopefully you can see you can see this it's not being washed out by the lighting here so the black is good I found it matches most of the lowers pretty well and if you've watched my other videos you know I'm kind of a stickler when it comes to you know colors matching and such I mean the coating on these magazines is called a Mar lube and it's similar to a dry film Lube but the difference is it won't scuff off like you know a dry film lube will scuff off if you look at the inside of you know any milspec buffer tube or inside of an upper receiver over time you'll you'll see it looks like something is being rubbed off and that's the dry film Lube that's on those items and they they will rub off dry film Lube will rub off over time the Mar lube will not the Mar lube also offers the same lubricity I tough for me to pronounce this word this is C products word that they use lubricity so that's that's what C products claims obviously this is a new magazine but I should have brought a magazine that has seen some extensive use this the surface will wear a little bit from going in and out of the receiver but for the most part it's pretty durable and you know I've done running guns with ease and I've dropped them kicked them stepped on them throw them around they hold up well I've never had one of these get damaged on me during any type of training exercise of course I can't say I've had that problem with Magpul either the Magpul have been extremely reliable as well so let's see what else can I say also I wanted to mention about aluminum magazines again the you know I'm not a I'm not a magazine expert I can only really talk from my own personal experience with with using aluminum GI type magazines what I've had aluminum magazines do to me they I've had them swell on me while loaded I've had the feed lips crack and I've actually I've I've you know ejected partially loaded magazines loaded magazines because of a jam and and these have landed on the ground and they've actually split open and you know I'm thinking right off top of my head this has happened with the cold aluminum GI magazines I can't remember the other makes of the magazines this has happened it's only happened with the aluminum magazines now that could be a situation where it was only there was a bad batch of aluminum magazines or only yeah you know I I don't know I'm not saying all aluminum magazines that's going to happen that's just been my personal experience I've actually had a lot of different problems with aluminum magazines so a long time ago stopped using aluminum magazines I transitioned over to use in the the Magpul polymer type magazines and I've never looked back and it wasn't until recently within the last couple of years that the statement steel magazines came out I decided to give them a try bought a batch of them and I just loved them and I've literally beat the crap out of a lot of these magazines and they they've never let me down so that's my personal experience and your results may be completely different so don't beat me up on that I'm not I'm not writing anything in stone here I'm just giving you my personal experiences and why I've switched away from using aluminum magazines to the polymers into the stainless steel this particular stainless steel is a 400 series it's heat treated and the stainless steel magazines are 1.6 ounces heavier than an equivalent aluminum magazine so this 30 round magazine is 1.6 ounces heavier than its equivalent aluminum counterpart so if so if if weights an issue and you're you're packing 14 15 16 Meg's and your loadout you know those 1.6 ounces are you know that's going to be another pound or so added to you added to your rig so something to keep in mind you know that these are a little bit heavier than the aluminum magazines I don't normally carry more than eight on me in any particular time my loadout and you know depending upon the situation I might have some in a drop-down leg holster you know I've got one of those black off ones I can add another four magazines to that so um it really hasn't been an issue to me so just something to keep in mind I think those are most of the talking points I had about this magazine I'm going to go ahead and take it apart and we'll take a look at the internal components alright these come apart you know fairly easy you know if you've got a punch or something you can put a punch in that hole right there and kind of pull up pull up and slide the bottom plate off these bottom plates basically say see products defense made in USA the orange followers are stamped five five six and on the inside which you can't see there's only stamping of SS which is just indicate that the this is a special follower made for the stainless steel magazines because it's a little bit smaller than the regular Magpul make pull one so you know you know if you've got green followers or Magpul followers you would not want to put those in a stainless tool magazine they won't work correctly because Sarah they're too big excuse me the Magpul followers or I said they were too big they're actually too small because the stainless steel is thinner so I haven't seen any need to change the anti-tilt followers in this magazine so you know works just fine haven't had any issues I do depending upon how I use these magazines I may take them apart after two or three uses and wipe them down and as a rule of thumb you don't want to use any type of lubricant or anything on the inside of your magazines in the springs so I just take them apart and wipe them down and put them back together all right the last thing to note is that if you use stripper clips and the stripper clip feeder you know those will fit on these magazines so you know some keep in mind that you know if you going to do that you can definitely you know use the stripper clip feeders and the stripper clips it is so so that they do fit so that's going to wrap up my tabletop review of the seat products stainless steel 30-round ar-15 magazine
