hi my name is barney skinner and i'm here to give you a quick run through of my game by torchlight which is a nine card dungeon crawl which i'm entering for the board game geek nine card nano contest this year 2021 um you will be wandering around in this game sort of various dungeons made of these dungeon cards which are all different on both sides and at the start of each level of the dungeon there are four you know sort of randomly flip these around and then lay them out to form a dungeon which is as you can see um sort of spirals around the place a little bit let me just line up the camera a little bit um and in this dungeon you will be represented by this mighty dice your adventurer who always begins on the stairs from above running down from outside or from a higher level of the dungeon down into the depths below um your goal on each level is to try and get to this key here and then make it to these stairs to below to down to the lower level there's a sort of a gate in front of the stairs which you need to unlock with the key so you can make it down to the next level um unfortunately stopping you will be serious several monsters and each of these sort of colored runes are where monsters will start and these green ones obviously have green monsters these blue ones have blue monsters and the red boss monster is over here by the exit um each of these monsters has a health on top of them which i'll tracked on this which you can see on this adventure sheet adventure card rather which is rather over stuffed with information on the four levels of the dungeon but we're only interested in level one which is called the dungeons so you can see there that the green uh dice on the greener runes represent these sort of thug type character here the blue is this sort of wizard and the red is this sort of night guy um each of these has various stats along here which i'll explain when we come to them and an ai track here which sort of explains how the monster will behave at the bottom of this card we have a time track which ticks along every turn and if you hang around too long bad things will start to happen i'm gonna be playing as this warrior type person um there are four different characters you can play there's this warrior the sort of stealthy rogy type an archery type person and wizardy type um obviously not nothing as you can see has sort of names or anything but there are fairly generic archetypes um each of these characters has these six action boxes which define what they can do we have movement attacking shield or defense healing increasing range and stealth so there's no particular you know different weapons for attacking or anything it's just you can attack at a basic range of one but if you increase your range you're gonna rate attack at a longer range so for example the archer type character has lots of abilities to increase range but my uh warrior type um isn't particularly good at that it's more of a sort of run-up punch in the face good at defense type character um so as you can see each of these slots has dice values in them which show which dice values can be used to activate those particular slots um so the way we do that is with energy dice you start the game with six of them after each dungeon level you complete you'll get an extra one um sort of you know your character advancing as the dungeon goes on so um let's start the first one and i'll try and explain things as they go along so um i'm over here i want to like say like i said before i need to get to the key here and then escape over here there's also a chest here which will have some nice treasure or sort of equipment i can uh collect as the game goes on which will boost my abilities but we'll come to that if and when i don't die immediately so what i need to do this turn i think is probably deal with this guy here who's going to come and attack me otherwise have i got enough attack abilities here to do here's just about yes um so anything i need to this person is three spaces away so if i um use this three to activate this movement slot here and then i've got um um this one up on defense because i might be useful if i get attacked back and then i'll use uh um hmm i'm not sure i've got enough to do this you know that way yeah so that's fine if i use a two fours in attack here which will do two points of two hits two points of damage and this two which if you notice my character has two two symbols up here that means that the effect of any twos is doubled so that these three dice actually will do four points of damage um but i've only got one movement step to here so i either need to do another move or actually what i'll do is increase my range by one so then now i've assigned my dice i can just take the actions and go by one move increase range you have a basic range of one which is then increased to two which is enough to hit this guy for four hits which is good enough to kill him this guy doesn't have any shields here some monsters have shields which would reduce the number of hits they take but this guy is dying straight away i'm just gonna run up and i'm gonna chuck a sword in his face or something okay um that's the end of my turn um the so i've used my all of these dynasty when i haven't used is this defense which is used in the monster's turn if they attack me um now i have to see whether any monsters are going to attack me so what we need to do now is work out which monsters are aware of me what the so each monster has a perception range um so these green monsters have perception range of five the blue have a perception range of eight and the red has a range of six and the idea is you track the shortest route from them to you and the ones that are inside the range um know you're there this is where your stealth ability comes in which reduces monster's perception i however not a peakly stealthy character as you can see so um this guy here who has a range of eight one two three four five is definitely seeing me this guy's got a range of five is not gonna be on two one two three four five one two three four five so the only one question here is really this guy goes two three helps right one two three four five six seven eight nope two three four five six seven eight no so they don't want to perceive me currently is this guy and monsters have different behaviors based on whether they can perceive you or not in this case because the rest of the monsters are at full health and they're standing on their starting runes they're not going to do anything at all so i only need to worry about this guy here who has three energy so we'll roll three dice uh a two a five and a six which according to his ai chart is one movement and five and six are both healing for this guy so what all you're gonna do is move towards me one space the way the monsters resolve their actions so they'll do any healing they can but he's ready at maximum health they'll then step towards you to try and get into their range this guy has a range of three so he'd need to be here to attack me but he's only got one move so he's just gonna move to here if they were then able to attack he would attack and then they would move away with any remaining moves so they might sort of hit and run or sometimes just flee they don't attack at all but in this case it's just going to step forward and that is the end of the monster phase that's all that's happening in this monster phase the timer phase the timer takes forward one nothing has happened yet when i hear each of these various uh runes monsters might start respawning in the dungeon and when i reach the end of the track i'll lose an energy dice for the rest of the level sort of fatigue so let's carry on um my next turn um what do i want to do i want to probably come and deal with this guy or maybe i want to come sneak around that way but i think probably just i need to get to the key so i'm just going to see if i can run up and take this guy but i'm not gonna have enough to kill him this turn i don't think well maybe i will because that's three hits there can i get into range uh two sixes and a three gets me into range yep so that's three moves three hits and a shield so sorry one two three moves one two three hits again he doesn't have any shields to defend and i have a shield in return this is going quite well so far okay monster phase again so again as i said before the green guys have got perception range of five and the blue of eight and the red of six well i can see one two three four five six one two three four five six seven eight neither of those two anything this guy one two three four five just out of range but this guy can perceive me so he has three again three energy dice so he's gonna roll a two a two and a five which according to his chart is two moves and an attack but he only has a range of one so he's just gonna move towards me twice can't quite make it into range one more and he'd have made it into range okay end of round tick forward on the timer i've ticked onto a red rune but the red monster is still alive so he isn't able to reappear in the dungeon we simply move on to the next turn let's go quite well so far um what have we got here a lot less attacking ability this time um i don't know i've got the five seconds he'll do it that's three hits i can do the guy's got four health so i may want to um be a bit more careful this turn um well let's use these ones as shields then three to move and those three hits so one move three hits knocks this guy down to one health remaining and i've got two shields for when he inevitably takes a swing at me okay so monster phase um this guy is clearly in range and as is now this one one two three four five these guys i think are still out of range one two three four five six seven eight no so the guy will work from the closest to furthest so the closest guy to me three dice again three four five is one move and two attacks that's not good so there's the two attacks luckily i've got two shields this turn so those dink dink knock into my defenses and he's got one move which he'll use to move away so again like i said at the start of the turn they would move towards but once they're already in range they then attack and then move away with any remaining moves and i can choose which of the um this ones he moves to because they're both equidistant away moves as quickly as possible away but with only one move that's just going to there luckily i defended enough which means i didn't actually take any damage this guy again three dice one one three which is just legging it straight towards me three moves okay end of turn timer phase right slightly tricky now i've got two guys to deal with in fairly close proximity roll the dyson let's see what i'm going to do um i definitely want to finish this guy off if i can i got yeah i've got two ones that can hit so i probably want to step in i don't want to take that guy fast actually my best bet is probably to stand where i used to use a bit of increasing range because then i've got a range of two and i can attack both these guys um i need to have line of sight so i'll just do a quick double check you can often use the spare card for that and i can see any part of my um tile to any part of the other tile gives me a line of sight and which i definitely have in both these cases um so then i've got three grand total of three attacks i can do maximum there um again those two ones on um defense i definitely got six on movement actually i'm going to put all of those onto movement now i'm going to put one of the fences just in case okay so as you can see now i've got increased range so i have a range of two which means i can do and i've got three damage to inflict on these guys so i can do one two three damage um i've now got two moves left which i'm going to use to move over to the key you don't have to do anything special once you've stood on the key you can have the key for the level um there's no way of tracking that you just have to remember it's fairly easy to remember um ott the key only works for this particular level you need to get a key again for the next level knocked sorry monster phase then um this guy's the one in range three dice that's a move attack attack which is not going to do much because he's got a range of one so he just steps towards me time of phase my next image my next phase um my next my next adventure phase so i probably want to take this guy out pretty soon um and then head towards this chest um so i've gone off there for actually the two we're gonna have to kill him if i can throw everything else at movement yeah then i've got five moves and the kill great so one two hit hit three four five all right successfully clearing clearing this dungeon quite well i haven't taken any damage yet this is going quite well um monster phase i think this guy's now gonna be in range to me one two three four five seven yeah but this guy's still out so this guy has three dice one two and a three that's two moves and an attack two moves to there he's not gonna get in to range three and he can't see me so he's not gonna be able to do much to me okay timer phase tick up uh blue blue guy's gonna respawn because i kill the blue dice every i think i'm gonna reappear here this is what i'm saying about you dawdle too long you can get um guys coming back to cause you trouble okay so next turn i think it's pretty clear what i'm gonna do here i'm gonna get that chest um so let's use that six to go move on to the chest put on quite a lot just quite a lot of movement this turn three lots of movement fives aren't enormously helpful to me this turn really i've got three of them so i guess i'll put just put them into defense really i'm not going to be attacking this turn i don't think no so let's put them all into my defense okay so one on to the chest so now what happens is i have my two cards which are two equipment cards each of which has this each has four items of equipment on them which all have these selection numbers at the top um and i'm going to roll a dice and see what i'm getting so four and i can choose between either card so for four i can either get this wand or i can get this shield now the wand would give me a six would increase range which could be quite useful because that would be a doubled effect so as you can see each of these equipment just kind of gives you extra abilities so in this case it kind of adds to your ability that you already have but the that would be quite nice as well the shield well there could be a lot of flexibility there but i think i'm gonna go for the wand which seems an odd choice for a warrior but who said i'm not some sort of warrior monk or something i don't know um and you can slide the equipment under the card so you can always see what you've got okay so that's my first move i've got two more moves left um which i'm going to use to move i think i'm going to wait here so that i'm not in range of that guy let's create one and i've got three shields left okay so monster phase these two are obviously in ranges this guy one two three four five six now he's just out of range so these two are in range um one two three four and one two three four five so this guy's closest he'll go first one two and a six is two moves and a heel well that heel's not gonna hurt me much so first thing i'll try and do is move into range um which moving to his maximum range with line of sight i think is there a check can you see me there yeah just about so that would be the position at maximum range um with line of sight which is where he's moving to first he then he's done his heel but obviously he doesn't use the maximum health already um and then he would um if possible i should can you see me there no i don't think you can actually so i think you'd have to move to here instead so just step onto there instead um uh he doesn't have any more moves to move away or any attacks so he's just gonna stand there this guy then three dice five six six he'll heal heal he's just gonna stand up turn back and i don't know drink a potion or something he's not really going anywhere okay timer phase takes on next round okay obviously i want to try and deal with that pesky wizard in my face so i think probably stepping up and giving him a good old tickle and knowing how to get away overkill here because i don't have anything else that can attack i only got those twos there's a bit of an overkill but it's fine i can't really use them for much household a bit of stealth maybe um i'm going to um yeah probably movement of the rest of it the last of those give me four moves i'm not really gonna worry about this guy i think i'm going to crack on towards the end of the level yeah okay so one move that's enough to kill more than enough to kill and they've got three moves left one two and i want to risk it getting his face screw it risk it be get the position to charge him next turn okay so this guy is this guy still in range one two three four five six seven eight he is and so is this guy so this guy the boss has four dice as you can see down here he's got his track is much more attack based so that's one move and three attacks but he only has a range of one so he's not gonna be too much trouble for me unless i get up in his face if only i wasn't some kind of oh i don't know up in your face character um his attacks are all kind of wasted because he can't get into range so then this guy three dice is two attacks and a heel um so he's not going anywhere either okay turn my ticks on next round okay hmm that's a reasonable amount of damage but not really as much as i'd hoped that i can do that one step increase range and shield there i think because that gives me a double actually i don't need a step because of my one that gives me a double increase range just enough so i can just stand back actually blast the guy with a double couple of shields in my wand okay so yes my one this six now gives me a double range effect which i'll give you a range of three because it's one plus two one two three that's enough to get him three hits he however has a shield so those three hits are reduced to only two hits that works every shield works every round for monsters um okay monster phase then um same as before the closest guy has got four dice one two four five good job i put those two nice on shield because he's stepping towards me twice and then whacking me twice which luckily goes dink dink with my shield okay this is going quite well um i don't remember i ticked down the time phase last time never mind um the wizardy guy over here two steps towards me and a heel well the healing is not going to do much okay timer my round um there's the two i want it i would want and a ah i don't have anything else that can cause damage it's annoying because i need three hits because of his shield um what's irritating well i've got plenty of shield at least she's there and i might as well step away in case he wanks am i mad i've got four shields who needs to step away i'll use it that doesn't matter increase range for what little difference it makes um so i unfortunately did one point of damage with those two hits um and then return i've got remembering i've got four shields he does three moves and a hit so one hit dinks against my shield and he's gonna move away three times trying to get out of sight if he can so he's gonna pretty much move to there i think is probably the first way towards being outside that you can get to coward this guy three dice uh one move towards me and two healing he's slowly drinking lots of potions as he wanders down this corridor slowly in my general direction okay timer ticks on green respawn i can choose where the green guy reappears so i'll pick over here which is probably the furthest away from me not really going to bother me unless i decide to go back for some reason which i don't know will okay next and possibly final round depending on whether i can leg it down those stairs or not i don't actually have to kill the boss um not where they're all like that that's only mighty two moves i can know three moves i could do that which is not quite enough i would need five um so let's rethink that instead um let's kill that guy really which is what that two will be enough to do so yeah there we go three moves there a couple of shields that's plenty for me to go one two three two hits kills the guard the boss and that's that um this monster is in range one two three four five six seven eight yes just so he's gonna roll more potions of healing you can see if you manage to not to enjoy these guys without killing them they'll heal themselves up straight away okay end of round um the timer ticks past the end back to the start again and i lose a energized to the rest of the mission but i'm starting to think the rest the level rather but i'm starting that probably won't be a problem on this level okay and that is enough for me to get it down the stairs one two three four moves i only need three okay so that's the end of the first level i didn't even lose any health that went very well i'm starting to think this warrior character might be a little bit overpowered no money to adjust some of his abilities slightly anyway um let's well let's go to the second level as well why not race through it quickly i'll probably lose just sort of flipping and randomly generating the next level okay so again my character is gonna so at the end of that level i um again recover that um dice i lost taking back up to six and i also gained an extra dice for sort of my experience so i've never seven dice for the next level so i would start again on these stairs leading downwards the key is now over here and the excess over here on this level once the green guys again have four health but they now have a shield these goblin characters which is kind of a little bit tricky to deal with the um blue guys are now zombie type guys with i don't know they're not zombies sorry they're ogre type of chaps with um sorry six health not three lots of health no shield and quite slow but do a lot of damage if they can catch me and the boss is a giant spider who is quite nasty with a decent range um here again if you manage to catch you can cause some serious trouble um still um what am i gonna want to do so i'm here chest over here interesting and the keys up there so i'm probably going to deal with this guy first and then maybe decide what i'm going to do let's see let me just adjust this so i can actually put it on camera probably all right there we go okay so so these guys have got shields only five hits to kill their one turn and i've got one two three four hits there if i wanted to do that so that's not really enough is it perception-wise these um green guys now have seven the ogre guys have blue blue ogres have five and the um spider has six again the boss um so these guys are actually quite um perceptive um and they have a range of two as well as these are goblins so okay what do i want to do well i guess i can probably probably use my range boosting ability use my wand give me a range of three can i see from that to that yes i can so if i just step one step up to there i can then put these two into defense and these we're going to attack which as we do one step to here increasing my range by two to a range of three and do uh one two three four points of damage reduced to three by the shield which is not quite enough to kill this guy so we have to take a bit of a hit in return but that's why i've got a couple of points on defense here so in return these guys have four dice um and so one two three one two three one two three four five six one two three four five six seven this guy's just out of range um and these guys definitely out of range so i've got to deal with both of these two but these are on all out range um monsters if by the way if monsters are out of range they don't necessarily not not act if for example they were slightly off a uh a rune they would move back towards a rune or they might be able to heal up um but they're not gonna come towards your attack if they're out of um perception range and i'll notice i haven't really used my stealth ability here in this game because it's only activated by this two and my two is my best attack so this i'm really not a selfie character at all um but what that does is for every um point of stealth it reduces perception of all monsters by one down to the minimum of their range so if they're in within range they're always gonna be able to attack you but for someone like the uh the the sort of the stealthier character on the on the rogue character on the other side of this card um that's quite an important ability so um the closest monster first four dice a one a three a three and a four is three moves and an attack so that's one move to get into range two an attack which knocks against my shield and two moves left to run hide monsters do like sort of hit and run in this game um then the other guy here who is in range could hear me once again you've got a one two three which is three moves and an attack if they can get the range but i doubt they have to get into range so one two three moves towards me just out of range okay take up on the timer sorry i should have had the timer reset at the start of the level okay what do i got here i don't want to finish this guy off but this guy's going to cause trouble as well so again i probably want some range increase stuff here to be able to deal with these um but i'm out of line of sight here so i have to step a little bit at least so i'll use that for range increase i'll use the other six to step to here and i've got two and a four a five i can use for attacks leaving me with a couple of threes which i can use for defense so there's my one move to there i've got one two three four hit so one two will kill that guy and then that leaves me with two more hits which is only one point of damage to this guy because of his armor um obviously i've got enough range to do that with my range boost wand works quite well for this character but i've never used it with them before um is this guy in range now one two three four five six no am i gonna start out range so um just this guy to resolve then he's got four dice two moves and two attacks that's not ideal i might actually get hurt now so already at range two um so two attacks one hits on there but i do lose a health point and then two moves away running towards being out of sight if possible actually i think that's pretty bad then are closest to me up to there sneaky goblins okay tick forward on time i'm not sure what tick toy last turn again keep forgetting all the time never mind it's not gonna be a huge difference um next round okay i might actually want to do some healing at some point which i haven't the other ability i haven't used yet not everyone like that um that's enough to do some damage there so a couple of steps forward like three step forwards just run up to the guy and punch him in the face i'm gonna do four hits which is one two three four hits and i'll throw that five on defense so three three moves one two three takes me up to the guy four hits enough to kill and leave me with one on defense because this guy is now going to come for me because he's got a reception range of five one he's got six health not three if only that if only he's got one two three four well within perception range um one two three four five six okay so that's the point where he's not worried about this guy um so he's gonna he has three dice he's a very slow and ponderous chap so that's two moves and then attack but if he gets into range he can do some serious damage and he's um got quite a lot of health so all right timer next round oh a bit off the camera there um all the threes all threes is not enormously useful for doing damage but i've got two and a five i guess those threes i guess i'm gonna use um a couple on defense and a couple of them but one defense and one movement not particularly helpful um round but that is enough defense that i don't have to worry about getting hurt so i'll step in i can do three damage okay it doesn't have any shield and in return he's got three dice well i had four defense so it's not going to matter and whether he hurts me or not he's got one move away after he hits me okay time it takes up next round i'm playing on standard difficulty here there's um a few other difficulty levels for easier or harder modes in the um describe the manual basically speaking for easy uh you start with an extra dice for hard you'd start with uh four health maximum and from nightmare mode you'd have five health but start with five dice i think that's right but if i'm wrong well go by the manual not rather than what i say um so that should be enough to kill that's three dots of four um the rest of this can all just go on movement i think probably this turn four moves so one step in kill and then i've got four moves one onto the key so that's where two moves left one two right i don't want to get or do i want to go back and get that chest actually instead without triggering those guys i think i probably do actually suck up there i'm sorry if i go over there and i've got two moves back to here i'm gonna go around this way to get to the chest waste a bit of time but it means i don't trigger these guys my way past okay and a turn tick up ah blue guy is going to reappear right on my face like i should have stayed on his room that would have been clever oh well because if you're if there's no free rune they can't reappear but i was silly and moved off his room i should have just waited that for a turn game dead bit oh well never mind um next round hmm do you want to kill this guy i just want to run away over this way i think we're going to run away although i do yeah just put everything into movement so i can and put one uh i'm even going to do a stealth for the sake of it so i've got one two three four five six moves there and one onto stealth reducing monster range so this goes and have a range of six one two three four five six here not quite enough to reach me this guy will be way out of range now i think because he'll now have four yeah nowhere near and ditto over there so um check up on here still actually proved useful didn't think it would i keep forgetting the heel i should probably do that at some point okay yeah let's use that before i forget we'll do that to heal um i will i guess i need a lot more plenty of movement than i three moves again probably some stealth might be handy again wouldn't it hmm just in case i'm gonna trigger this red guy he's got a range of six one two three four five six one two three four five six you want to get past about there you can sense me otherwise so what i've got three moves so one two three you can see here where the tiles meet up you get diagonals you can never move one of those diagonals you can only move them sort of offsets or orthogonal the edges of tiles um so i've got two points into stealth so this guy's range is reduced to five one two three four five is enough for him to see me and this guy is reduced to four which has not been enough and this guy's reduced to something pitiful um okay so it's just this guy who's got four dice which is two moves an attack and a heel so he'll just try and move towards getting towards range two and doesn't need to heal so that's not gonna do anything and can't get into a range to attack so there we go um timer ticks on hmm that's not amazing i was hoping for some twos that's how to throw a bit of damage that was either a four or five camera which one doesn't matter um i forgot i used my heel last time didn't i and he's going to um some i'll use all those in at least two moves let's use three moves and a shield so moving twice i've got three points of damage which is reduced to two and i've got one more move away which i'll use to step down this way towards the chest okay um i haven't used any stealth this term but i don't think it's gonna matter because this guy's one from this guy's one two three four five right one two three four five six just out of range i think one two three four five six yeah whichever way i go he's just out of range and this guy's got much shot we've got a shorter range of five anyway so it'll be the same um miles away so it's just this guy again with these four dice come here they're all three dollars last um so that's oh interesting two moves an attack and a heel so he'll start already at range two so it doesn't need to move towards attack for one well i've got a shield and then two moves away trying to get out of line of sight if possible to there i know it should be as far away as possible so to there should also have myocyte actually doesn't really make much difference at least it does because if i go that way here okay um okay now the monsters resolve tick forward on the timer okay let's see if i can get to that chest a couple of moves there that's enough to get to the chest um at least one at the fence put one still for what it's worth um now i've heard the fence as well i'm not really gonna do much this turn apart from movement really so one two moves takes me to the chest roll the dice one so a one would give me this uh x on here or i can change up my from this card i could get this potion instead but i don't want to lose that wand which is doing quite nicely actually so i'm going to keep the wand and getting the axe i might need to move things around a little bit so you can see them both um yeah so obviously each card goes under one of the sides and you can see that this axe gives me uh allows me to use ones and cop for attacking as well which is quite nice gives me a bit more flexibility um it doesn't give me a double up ability but it does give me some more flexibility still okay so i've got two more moves left which i'll just use to run up to this guy why not um i've got one in stealth this turn so one two three four five still arranging that guy one two three four set arrange that guy so it's just this guy there's four dice another heel to four full health he's got two two and a three which is all movement so he's just gonna flee like the cheeky little goblin that he is well that's good he couldn't attack me at least um okay time tick's on went to respawn mode another goblin appears over here as far as i can but okay next round all right i think it's bringing out time to ignore that goblin and make a run for the stairs try fight through those guys um what should i deal with him first so it doesn't come up behind me should probably deal with them first but i've got enough to do them a chair one two three four is not enough to kill the goblin again so i might just hear that back again um i'm going to ignore them for now i think just move on um so i've got one two three four let's see how many do i need to use those two sixes there that'll give me a range of five one should look at a range of five one two three four five i could just snipe that guy from here actually why not do that so i had enough four hits on these guys i don't remember which nice numbers it was but i had nothing for four we're here four hits there so let's do that so four hits onto this guy knocks him down to two health with some one sneaky wanding abilities um okay one two three four one so over there oh i haven't stealth this time so they are in range one two three four five so i'm gonna have to do all three of these guys now don't mind starting the closest to is the goblin here this cowardly goblin it keeps fleeing from me that is um two attacks a heal and a move well one move's not enough to get into range so it's just that this guy is at range five one two three four five and he's only got three dice though but that is three moves become a bit of a threat and then the boss who has five dice and i'd rather silly being silly and leaving myself exposed there so the boss do any ones or twos and moves three four and five are attacks and a six of the heels so that's one move not enough to get into range so these three attacks luckily are it but this could cause a problem for me quite soon okay end of turn take over back to the start lose a dice down to six dice this is timings okay so lots of twos good i like twos twos are nice um so that two will kill that guy give me a range of three which i mean i need to come to through to there so two moves a range of six that's a range of three and two more attacks so i've got a range of three so i can hit this guy with two attacks killing him i've then got two moves use my range of three again to do four hits but of course the guy's got a shield unfortunately so he doesn't quite kill the boss before he gets a chance to attack back at me okay i'm um stop checking this guy's line range everything silly one two three four five six seven no and one two four five six no so it's just these two starting with the closest which is one two three four one two three it's the boss who has five nice and i don't have any shields so this could be painful um yeah that could be painful so there's one heel two moves and three attacks ouch and starts off in range of range three so that's three attacks on maybe which takes me down to health three i've been quite good avoiding that until now then i got the guy's got two moves away which is going to go up to here because it can't get through the gates onto here which would be the other place to go oh spider is a pain okay end of round no no this kind of forgot what about this guy he's got another four dice come get me from behind um two moves sorry three moves and a heel so not a huge amount to deal with there so one two moves into range and then we'll move back to height so instead of follow up behind you and hide um yep next round i'm not going to get to the stairs if i get enough dice okay so one two three four potential moves which is one two three four not quite enough but it might be enough to get me there and i'm going to healing annoyingly which is really what i needed um i think i'll probably have to go for it anyway take the risk so four moves two shields and i hope i don't die this turn and i can make it to the stairs next turn or should i try and kill the guy here's the other option we've got enough attacks got three attacks so i could just try and kill the guy and said actually that's pretty safer isn't it no it's not because if i look at the time track if i kill him he's just gonna pop back into existence next turn that is the last thing i want fell for that once earlier the last thing i want to do is run out there waste everything killing anything i'll just jump back in my face um so instead yeah i'll stick with my original plan one two three four moves to here and i've got two shields so is this guy in range he's got a range of seven one two three four five six seven yeah this guy's got a range of five isn't that one two three four four now so it's just these two so it's not the closest the boss can the boss kill me i do a lot that's what i like to see four moves and a heel excellent not one attack on me i got lucky um so there's a heel and four moves away from me so it's one so one to get to so try to get the maximum range first which is going to be to the closest place in maximum range is here it takes two moves and then two more moves away if possible um another thing we actually get away any further than i am now which is one two three so let's hear the guess i'll probably move to here which is able to get further away in future turns but i think to cut there red would respawn but luckily i didn't fall for that um i think hopefully at least one move yep and i'll be able to escape this round so um that's probably enough of that um there's two more levels to go um i would heal up fully when i descended to the third level known as the catacombs which as you can see as far as some undead fun chaps um including ones with two and even three armor for this ghost here skeleton's got two armor um the uh the ghost has three but not as much health um and then the final level is the the underworld as you can see um some truly quite nasty looking um stance to fight there but obviously you get an extra dice energy dice each level you complete so um touch wood you'd have enough by then but i'm not going to go through any more at this point you should have a reasonable feel for the game by now and like i say um if you look at the different characters you can see that this stealthy person has much less in the way of defense and nothing almost nothing in fact in defense so you're really relying on your stealth to stop monsters attacking you and it's also um and you've got a few sneaky double movements and a double attack there and double stealth so lots of doubles but very very very very fragile if you get caught um the archer character as you might guess has some increasing range a little bit of stealth abilities um it's kind of much better all rounder really um reasonable attack reasonable it's quite good at healing but um not particularly brilliant at attacking which is um what what what really gets you through guys and the um the wizard is a bit different um as you can see the wizard has the six a double or dream triple six ability on everything where the six is a wild magical ability which allows you to give much more flexibility with any six as you roll but that's the only real doubles you've got and if you're not running much magic you're not in much luck i have a feeling currently this wizard might be a little bit underpowered i might need to um boost the power of this wizard a little bit and maybe reduce the power of the uh the warrior i was playing as who who as you saw get got through fairly easily there i might want to reduce the warrior's movement or something to make it a little bit um a little bit harder to play with but you know that's why we have a contest that's why we have feedback um so um i do hope you enjoy the game as well um if you do please do leave some feedback because um you know i'm looking to develop this as the uh the contest goes on um and please play as many games as you can at the end of the day there are only nine cards um this is a solitaire game there's some others that are a multiplayer but obviously i'm willing to bet quite a few people are looking for easy solitaire games at the moment because um for many of us uh group and gaming nights are not a thing we can really do at the moment so you know quick fun games shouldn't take me beyond the print and play abilities of anyone really to do print off nine cards you can just use pieces of paper really because it's not even like you need to sort of you know shuffle them or anything so anyway um hopefully that gave you a good sense of the game hopefully you enjoyed it um hopefully you'll enjoy playing it um please do
