Buying Silver and Gold is a Scam? My Local Silver & Gold dealer talks!

hello everybody I am spectacular the silver stack I'm here with Brian Vermillion at his shop for a million Enterprises in Spring Hill Florida Brian how's it going it's going well I appreciate you stopping in tonight hey I love stopping into your shop I want to talk to you you're a real shop owner that deals in Precious Metals coins and I want to ask you is collecting stacking investing in Precious Metals a scam that's a great question uh you and I are asked that or referred to that all the time right all the time all the time and so the the blunt answer to that in my opinion is no I think investing in gold and silver is a very um very smart addition to your portfolio I will say though as you know uh you can definitely be scammed when buying or selling your gold or silver right we all uh have heard tons and tons of horror shows uh horror stories about uh how people got scanned in in buying or selling gold and silver absolutely you got all kinds of businesses out there that go like oh people are interested in this stuff let's go ahead and just you know sell them stuff for more than they need to buy it for or you get companies out there like let's say wish.com that you know or whatever it is then right sells fake stuff that sells fake stuff and that's not uh that's not really uh investing but yeah you're right you can go on there and I saw a really awesome copy of a half cent today online the thing was a stunner but a mistake and uh it would have passed probably 60 or 70 percent of the uh coin buyers out there because it was that good of a fake and it came it came out of China of course oh and that stuff's awful I mean it really puts a bad name on just going out there and adventuring out for new people to different companies I mean just you got to pretty much stay with the the big people um and trusted coin shops and you know that's yeah exactly what I was going to get to is yeah that's why it's so important to shop with your local guy if you can because if there is ever a problem God forbid you got a person that you can go and you can talk to right then and there face to face and you can figure things out yeah uh not saying that uh you know every coin shop owner out there is perfect uh we're definitely not but at the end of the day it's always better to be able to have a conversation with somebody face to face than trying to figure out something through a website or or yeah so now what kind of stuff do you have right here on your table what are we talking about uh all these coins uh came in off of two deals today I figured you know usually when you stop in I put a bunch of bullying out we talk about pricing and stuff but this is a kind of uh this literally has two deals that came in today so I figured I would just leave this out here well hello everybody I seek to educate and entertain through my journey of collecting coins and stacking precious metals I encourage you to subscribe and please stay with me on this journey I am spectacular the silver stackular all right so some of this stuff on the table although made may not be a scam but it's what like a less desirable purchase I mean well all right so um yeah two pieces of gold here right so you got these common date uh ms-63 Indian Head um 10 gold coins right I love these you're right and those are really Staples of the coin industry right uh pre-33 gold everybody loves them right um and they are fairly stable product you kind of know what you're getting with them at all times but This Modern stuff here like this is a one ounce gold proof Buffalo okay is that coming in good yeah yeah it looks great all right make it grab you on a little bit uh upgraded by uh PCGS is proof 70. but instead of having just a straight label on it like you see like these pre-33 points have just you know it's just the ms63. they have the Grid on it the proof 70 but then they got this fancy label and I got some uh a signature on it and what happens to people unfortunately I see this literally every week is the telemarketers and the TV guys that push precious metals they sell these types of packages here with these fancy labels for a huge ridiculous premium and at the end of the day you know what do we got sitting in that plastic uh holder uh cardboard I mean paper I mean it's nothing right right you got an ounce of gold and you got paper right so you go from buying a gold coin which is what's going on in here right a numismatic gold coin so you're buying a a one ounce gold piece plus some fancy piece of paper that some telemarketer came up with yeah and then they charge often Chimes they charge us an exorbitant price for this coin when reality this coin should retail between two to maybe 23 2200 to 2300 it is a proof 70 so you get some extra juice there but they'll charge I think that guy uh his this is a collection that has Sun liquidated from his father I think his father paid just under four thousand dollars for that coin for that coin right there coin alone wow and so that is that's a huge beat you're never going to recover from that right like ever even if gold goes to four thousand dollars an ounce no one's paying premium for that label well you know you're the guy that bought this today right I mean like did you pay that crazy premium we uh on all of these we pay two thousand dollars for and we're gonna price them up put them out for two thousand two hundred uh uh tomorrow yeah so it's uh that is we'll probably put them out for like 21.95 and that that's the real market for that type of material that's the reality that's the reality but the original purchaser bought it not from his local guy he got hooked in on one of these TV commercials that you see by gold now uh you know the end of the world's coming by gold and you know it's got this fancy signature uh on it and this is gonna work so much more money in the future no it's just an ounce of gold sitting in a piece of plastic with a piece of paper man that's that stinks that stinks yeah it hurts me to hear that yeah yeah and we see this all the time I mean literally every week we see material like that come in well I mean in that case I mean it does seem like a scam right I mean like you're paying that kind of money and then you find out when you go to sell it that you've lost a thousand plus dollars right uh that hurts they got scammed no they didn't get scammed because they bought gold they got scammed because they bought precious metals from the wrong people yeah and that's uh and unfortunately we see that all the time that's why it's so important to shop with your local guy if you can because your local guys you know he doesn't want angry customers pounding on his door oh you know you're ripping off you know you uh sold me something that two times what you should have type of thing it's uh they're gonna want you to keep coming back and spending more money exactly right so um well darn man yeah so I mean you see like you look at this stuff right [Music] so it's uh so he had a little five of them there yeah yeah so I mean it's uh and it's funny because I had a buddy at work and he he's talking to me he's like hey there's this deal on some kind of Shopping Network for Morgan dollars and buy this one this one this one and for this about this kind of price and I said listen I said whatever it is on TV I said don't buy it from TV yeah that's a rule of thumb just don't get it from the TV right no that's right uh the TV and those uh what really gets the older people unfortunately is a lot of older people read the newspaper right yeah and inside the newspaper inside the inserts there's these flyers from coin Sellers and a lot of times they have uh hyper-inflated prices on the product that they're trying to sell and uh unfortunately uh a lot of people buy into that and they get stoned yeah yeah what about some other things you might have on this table that uh may not be a good idea what are these little quarters yeah I mean so same kind of situation on those yes uh not as egregious though right because like this stuff these are proof sets or yeah what is this here let's just make sure uh yeah so this is the satin finish proof set that came out some company at some point in time had graded and of course it's got the signature on it who's uh and signed by Lindell bass um specimen 70 enhanced finish enhanced finished right okay yeah so they look cool they look cool they look shiny and everything when those first hit the market uh they're super expensive uh because it's a new thing uh at the end of the day it's a terrible investment because the stock after a year on the market the stuff just plummets um places like eBay yeah and um yeah it's a terrible investment if you buy right out the gate not that it's scammy or anything it's just if you want to collect new material just wait a year after it's released and then you'll get it at the price point that's you know makes sense for everybody I see people talking about that all the time it's kind of a funny strategy like when something new comes out just don't grab it just wait yeah just wait a year and then it'll be at the it'll be at or near the price point that it's going to trade at on a regular basis what was that person's name I thought you said it was Lance Bass uh Lindell oh okay Lance faster Instinct right oh yes you listening of course I do yeah so uh what about stuff like this right here like what do we got so any kind of collection right is uh whether it's a baseball card collection a coin collection yeah you can go through it thank you uh you know there's always you know good stuff in there like you know there's 333 gold but then there's junk too right there's novelty items there's stuff that's just not worth much um and you know that's just that's just part of it we find it at home you know you know you got some worn out nickels there uh I did this book here is a state quarter book um Everybody collected those yeah everybody collected those uh below there is uh some more worn out nickels uh take a look at how bad these are look how big these Buffalo nickels are in there any dates even all right he's got the dates we got that one's rough yeah yeah look at the edges on that oh no yeah it's even ran over yeah pretty pretty rough coin so obviously not worth a lot of money uh but they're not silver I mean Buffalo nickels aren't so it's no it's just part of the you know it's an old coin now Brian this right here has me intrigued yeah yeah so that's the backhand uh of the set it's the short Set uh you know outer circular condition maybe a little bit better xf-ish these Dance Go albums have a little bit of value yeah right because they stopped making them once coded hit yeah man this is kind of cool though yeah this is all right yeah nothing special but uh you know nice little starter set oh just so yeah and they just have the yeah they just got the nice it's just the short set no no keys or anything no um 41 to 47 yeah all right well it's still cool though yeah still they put something together yeah I like that and the dance go album is kind of cool too right that's that's an album I could actually finish right there yeah so and then of course you know you get to like the loose pre-33 gold this year let me put that up front there are these like jewelry grade are these better than that uh a couple of them are cleaned I would call them that for sure um other than that though no I think they're they're better than that okay do you have to Au I would say uh that one two and a half has definitely been cleaned I'm not sure there yeah um these little two and a half Indians right there awesome yeah wow and uh then you know this is the gold is what we specialize in along with that of course both bullying but this is the kind of stuff we really like to see but it's a tray of this ms65 Morgan's you'd like to see this yeah it's just kind of stuff that we like to have in the shop you know a Morgan dollar and basically ms63 and up is like is is there any beautiful more beautiful coin right and that is definitely the next to the Saint Gardens the quintessential American coin right like everybody who wants to collect coins wants to collect Morgan silver dollars oh yeah 100 and uh so it's the uh so when you get them in this grade um you know that's just awesome and a lot of those are the older NGC holders yeah they're beautiful yeah so these are easy for the shop to go ahead yeah very uh no problems no problems that's the kind of material I would definitely love to see here's a you know talking about this beautiful points here's an 85 CC that those are easy to sell right yeah any gsas are easy to sell wonderful and that's a that's a pretty coin there yeah absolutely yeah the Morgan the Morgan design and I wish I had some out here I should have uh the honest uh standing liberty quarters when they're uncirculated yeah are just uh stunning yeah they're my two favorite coins in uncirculated condition for sure yeah for sure um what are we gonna hear just a big pile of uh oh the old scents old Indian Head pennies just common pennies uh you know someone gets you know they get this like green corrosion on them um you know some of them don't have that you know just part of an old coin collection not not a lot of value there um but you know like you said you know like we were talking about any collection any real collection is gonna have good stuff and not so good stuff so some things I mean you know are good to collect and then some things just aren't I mean it's just like probably any other collection out there ever I mean so you like you and I we're more stackers right right at least I think so maybe yeah I shouldn't say that um but maybe not so much collectors but more stackers so the this kind of material here is great for collectors because it's relatively cheap right it's fun it's old it's historic you can learn if you really get into it you can learn about American history uh going deep down the the rabbit hole with that kind of stuff right right for me at least I shouldn't speak for you but to me that's not as much interest as just like bullying products uh and stuff like these Morgans and more I have an interest in both I mean like especially like now I'm really into like the uh old commemorative half dollars sure but I totally understand stack and 100 ounce you know silver bars and one ounce you know gold and stuff I'm big into that too I'm I'm in the middle somewhere you know I think the reason one reason why I lean more towards the bullying product is because there's no uh there's no magic to it it's uh you know like you said you got 100 ounce brick right it's um you know it's spot plus the dollar or spot plus two dollars or whatever right whereas someone has this collection of Indian Head pennies they don't understand that they're like 80 cent coins a dollar coin but that's from the night you know it's from 1906. it's like yeah it's from 1906 but at the end of the day it's still a dollar all right and it's so it's hard for people to wrap their mind around that and versus okay well you got 100 ounce breaks Silver's twenty dollars an ounce it's worth two thousand bucks it actually has a that's called a price guide yeah yeah exactly whereas this kind of stuff it's really at the end of the day it's just worth what someone's willing to pay you for it yeah that's really all it's worth and you know as somebody who's been around to multiple different shops you know what Brian's doing when he buys these collections it's not like he's the only person doing it like that everybody buys it the same way because they have to resell this stuff and it's a big bulk amount of stuff they buy it the same way as Brian's doing I mean it's it's not like he's like you know special no offense Brian yeah no no it's it's right I mean everything has a home and there's hundreds upon hundreds of coin shops across the country and yeah you're right it's uh you know though it's and they see collections all the time every day just you know similar to this now I'm going to mention a comment that I got here very recently Brian and they were calling you out man they were they were just being nasty to you haters gonna hate haters gonna hate now you tell like right here on camera I got you I got this documented you tell me if this is a fact or not in one of our videos and I believe you were talking about American silver eagles right here so are you up I got some right there you got some here they were talking about um there's no way he would buy those for eight dollars over spot well right now we're paying ten dollars over spot and sell them at 12 over spot so right here on film you're telling me that ten dollars over spot is what you're buying Eagles for as of today on September 20th 2022 uh we are buying American silver eagles as long as they're retail friendly we're paying spot price plus ten dollars per ounce on them and we're selling them at the spot price plus twelve dollars per ounce now throw out retail friendly what do you mean okay yeah let's talk about that let me get a knife here and open this Tuesday open up a fresh tune of eagles what if they fly away Brian well then they're gone accept it huh yeah accept it carefully yeah yeah don't try to make some good film here right wow this is crazy we are opening we're gonna be inside of there right who knows yeah yeah so this is so you know these are white coins black white coins they're not scratched up they're not scruffy they're not you know they haven't been sitting in a drawer rolling back and forth they're you know they're coins that retail friendly right means coins that if you bought them you'd be happy with the condition that's how I kind of always um and so as long as they're not all scratched up scruffy you know beat up type of thing yeah we're paying the spot price plus ten dollars per ounce and we're selling them for the spot price plus 12 per ounce today and uh this since Friday we have bought over 4 000 of them I want to say yeah four thousand of them and uh we would take plenty more so they are even even with the stupid premiums that are on Silver Eagles right now one of our best sellers so in case anybody missed that spread that's only two dollars per Eagle he's making between him buying them and then selling them yep and that you can keep a shop running like that Brian oh we can yeah you've been doing it we've been doing it so it works it's not the only thing we do but uh yeah it helps right so um you saw the Colombian stuff in the back somewhere and that gets you by right well we don't talk about that oh okay but yeah no it's it's listen that's uh that's great that's great so that person in the comment you know that said that that's impossible there's no way you're doing that unfortunately he's wrong so what was it what was his actual context that he was just saying that we he said there's no way that you're buying silver for eight dollars over spot okay so all right so he just didn't think we would be paying that much over for it right and now we're even paying more now you're paying more yeah it just depends on what's happening out there well that's right and um I'll give you guys a little uh break in the action here uh prices on Silver reels are not coming out uh my contacts it's one of the servers I use said that it's look and blink for 2023 with silver eagle production now there was a prediction that you made that you thought that they were going to come down in price a little bit like a couple months ago yep yep I figured once the 2023s rolled out um of course it'd be fresh product uh it would you know historically it uh the amount that they released more than meets demand but it just doesn't look like they're gonna be releasing that much based on the recent conversations I've had with distributors so and these are direct mint Distributors so these stinking things are going to be more expensive I wouldn't be surprised now here's my thing right it's like I I just buy regular um you know bullion I don't buy like silver eagles as much as other things just regular like let's uh what like buffalo rounds just the cheap stuff yeah because it just makes more sense to me but when you're buying them and selling them for only two dollars you know the between the two differences there you know the spread right it really doesn't really matter if you buy Eagles or if you buy you know bullion rounds I mean it's the same well here's what I'll say is uh to that and I agree with you for right now but let's say a year from now Silver Eagle production ramps back up and they get they get their act together then all of a sudden those premiums come back down to what they were historically and maybe not back to what they were pre-coded but let's say they get back in that five to six dollar range then you might be losing there so uh what I've been uh advising a lot of my customers right now is trade your high premium Silver Eagles or like your junk 90 because uh this kind of material right now also has a super premium line um and trade it for like you were talking about your one ounce buffalo rounds or you know 10 ounce bars the cheap stuff the cheap stuff yeah uh right now on junk silver uh dimes and quarters we're paying the spot price plus seven dollars per ounce or plus six I'm sorry on halves we're paying plus 750. wow so I mean it's getting up to the point where they're almost uh per ounce-wise as expensive as The Silver Eagles and that's just it's hard for you to find the stuff or no I got tons of it it's just that there's such a high demand for it that um they that it's just pulling a huge premium on wholesale levels and uh same with the silver eagles I mean you think about I I should have done this before you started but if we went back from 1986 and ran it through 2022 and just tally the actual number of Silver Eagles out there it's a Monumental number right oh yeah there's a ton of Silver Eagles out there but they're still the one the highest American mint uh product premium wise out there so it's uh and you know and like we we've talked in the past about things like um pandas and libertads and stuff like that that you know they have a premium sometimes it doesn't make sense but their numbers are nowhere near what the silver eagle number production levels are and Eagles are trumping their numbers maybe not so much all the libertads but definitely on a lot of the other forms over it's wild yeah it's a wild time and that and that number isn't going to come down anytime soon I remember we were paying you know some years back just a few dollars over for silver eagles and we were freaking out yeah absolutely I was charging uh not maybe five years ago three dollars over I remember those days people are coming in huffing and puffing hey you think you can come down the price a little bit yeah and what's what's in this crazy box here are these crazy boxes uh oh yeah these so these are this uh this is some more random organs oh that's a nice coin there that's an 87 s and 62. so that that coin sheets higher even though that coin kind of looks ugly that's probably what 150 175 coin I kind of like it a little bit yeah yeah yeah it's a semi-key date in the series all right oh here's a here's a super good coin check that out almost broke it when I dropped my camera there 84s and uh Au 50. wow that's a that's a super coin so these are a little bit better over here in this box yeah yeah maybe a little bit lower grade you're pulling Treasures out yeah it's uh this is a common date 63 but look I mean tell me there's another more beautiful point I got 70 uh 79s there that was stunning huh yeah oh I love the Morgan yeah that seems beyond a 63. wow that's a that's a beautiful coin huh yeah man that's uh I mean some people out there they only collect Morgans I mean that's their collection because it's a beautiful pie it's a beautiful coin and uh here's kind of a building but it's still still in value it's an o4s and 20 th I like that it's been used you know yeah it has some history behind it absolutely you'll never know exactly where that coin's been that's true oh here's a cool one where's that other 79s all right here take a look at these two so both are 63s one the exact same point right except one's proof-like yeah man and one is uh this is a straight business strike I love those prooflex I mean I like a proof but I'll take a proof like yeah yeah it's pretty this is a beautiful coin it's amazing that that coin's about 150 years old and it's still in that condition it's it's it doesn't make any sense I mean where were people hiding this stuff you know because that's that was big money just a dollar like that that's that's big money back in the day yeah and the fruit to stay in that condition for 150 years right that's and that coin's only been in that holder what that that labels with a 10-year generation so that's like 10 years ago they start coming out with that holder they were in the corner of some bank vault somewhere and he's like you know and somebody found them eventually yep absolutely that's oh there's already some Assets in this one it's kind of a sleeper point a lot of people don't think about the peace dollar too is a beautiful coin there's a 62. I like the peace dollar but a lot of people that are on my channel they kind of you know Hit or Miss whether they like the peace dollar or not yeah they don't get the uh I enjoy it yeah they don't get the juice that the Morgan's do for and I love the low mintage that Peace dollars have on the latter dates too yeah that's that's right um under the 27s yeah you get into like the 26 and above yeah the mints the mintages aren't great that's awesome there's a there's a relatively common it is an S but look that's an ms64 that's a beautiful coin oh yeah a lot of meaning behind it yeah it's fantastic that's cool man you got some Treasures here yeah there's a 34d that's a semi-key date in the series they they slide that 62. it's none of this stuff as long as you're paying the right price or you're not buying it off some TV show this this wouldn't be a scam this is a good good way to invest I mean really yeah it is I mean look how much these have gone up uh look at these Carson cities these gsas right um the common dates now trade for like 290 300. you know two years ago we were dumping these at wholesale for like 175. it's come up that much it's come up that much in literally 24 months maybe maybe 30 months something like that uh this coin here this is an 85 so it's a somewhat better date in the series uh two three years ago that was like a 550 coin now that sheets for 750. it's wild yeah uh speaking of scams when it comes to Precious Metals is that a 10th ounce gold right there no this is a one ounce oh it's a whole one ounce yeah it's a whole one ounce okay I see those right there and they usually have like little okay yeah proof okay yep now let's go to the 10th ounce real quick I see them inside these little holders sometimes absolutely and uh people say like don't buy the 10th ounce because the the money's better when you get the whole ounce I mean you get it's a better bang for your buck well it's it's true per ounce wise right um so let's put aside the proofs uh question right now because proofs uh proof uh Eagles are Ira um uh accepted so there's pulling a super premium right now right now these wholesale for a spot price plus 650 per ounce oh wow yeah so I mean it's kind of it's an obscene situation right now with the proof Eagles but um you're right like you just take the business strike uh one tenth ounce quarter ounce half ounce in full ounce Eagles uh right now we're we're selling the 1 10 ounce gold Eagles at Milt plus 22 percent the quarter ounce Eagle so just a step above that for milk plus 18 the half ounce gold Eagles Mill Plus fifteen percent and in the full ounce gold eagle ml our spot plus six and a half percent so yeah the the bigger the size of a piece or coin the cheaper the premium for sure but you're still getting a lot of money back when you're as you're talking about your buy prices right even on the tenth ounce yeah so right now we're paying the Melt price plus 15 on retail friendly uh Eagles uh and sell them for Mel price plus 22 Yeah so uh you know and pre-covered you remember you're in my shop you remember I had them up in those trades I was selling them for uh Mel plus 10 bucks I do remember that yeah you probably have some in your I have some in my stack yeah melt plus ten dollars those days are forever gone oh no yes um so is that crazy yeah three years ago like milk plus ten bucks now we're selling them for mail plus 22 which is what like 40 over that's crazy you're 35 over something like that well I think I've told you this story before I used to go into coin shops and bullying shops and I'd be in there for a long time and I would be the only person that would come in that shop right now you just get bombarded somebody's coming in it's like a conveyor belt man if somebody else is coming in all the time yeah and that's uh that's right I mean as you mentioned earlier you come in here before and you've seen me trying to choke down food between customers just so I get some something to eat today you're right it's like back in the day we would see maybe 12 15 people a day uh it's a slow day if we don't see 50 now wow it's increased that much it's increased that much yeah wow from what what's the reason well um what's the reasons all right one of the big reasons you and I talked about this three or four different times prepping is taken off right so that's a huge uh fundamental change in how people are thinking about how Society is moving forward three or four years ago that was just coming onto the scene I think now it's very much more mainstream I think you would agree with that right oh yeah 100 100 so you got a lot more people that were never investing in gold or silver now thinking that you know essentially the world's coming to an end and they need to buy uh silver and gold in various forms to prep for that basically that apocalypse so that's added a huge pressure onto the industry no doubt uh the other thing too is there's just a lot more uh talk online with investing in gold and silver it's at a price point now that a lot of people can jump in and so I think they're uh you know they're happy to do so and when you talk about people online talking are you talking about the stinking influencers Like Me on YouTube that's a large part of it for sure I mean um that's that's a good part of it too um but not just uh you know influence like you but it's becoming more mainstream too right I mean you're you're seeing more talk online about uh country's gold positions uh more talk about what is uh what is the future of silver and platinum and Palladium with the electric vehicles movement and this is becoming more mainstream talk so it's just people are thinking about it more now well let me refer you a larger group of people are thinking about it more now there's always a smaller group of people like ourselves that we're always thinking about it now that circle's just expanded Roger that if you if that makes sense yeah before we continue at we got going on anything else right here on the table I mean what is all this I think these are just if we don't go through it people are going to be like I wonder what was in there yeah so this is more of this kind of stuff I think what kind of stuff like uh oh he's like a little sense and stuff yeah the little proof sets that they slept yeah so you got nickels and we're like all different ones yeah or maybe I was and Lance Bass from NSYNC is on there that's cool so these coins literally uh I think you go on eBay and buy it for 10 20 bucks a piece they're nothing special um it's just part of some program that whoever the original buyer was got roped into and he probably spent fifty dollars a coin on this stuff and literally worth like 10 15 bucks as a bullion dealer would you recommend people trying to stay away from that kind of stuff as an investment yes but if you enjoy collecting it absolutely get into uh wait a year or two after it's released you'll get the stuff cheap and it you know like that way it becomes fun and you know more cost effective to do at the same time so wait a year I'm yeah wait a year um anything that comes out of the U.S mint always wait a year before you get into it because uh when it first jumps uh when it first comes out there's a whole bunch of guys that jump in and try to do all this grading uh maneuvering uh you know they want to get the first release or the early release or the first day and that stuff and this all the raw material comes out at such a high premium the wait a year then you can get stuff for a lot cheaper I think we have Morgans and stuff in that one as well Morgan's here 63s yeah I think this is about one Morgan you know even though 21 Morgan is super common I love it man yeah absolutely you can always tell the 21 Morgan by just looking at the back of it why is that tell me why tell the people why so this is a 79 here you can just tell look how um this is a 79 here look how much more crisp and sharp and lean that the eagle looks like and look at this Eagle here this is the 21 here it just looks thicker fat yeah yeah it's uh it's just a little I don't know if I want to say smudgier it's just uh it's got some more meat on the bones for sure you can sell it right on the breast the difference in size and stuff and the neck even yep so that's a easy way to tell the easy way or if you look at the front it says 21 that's also a good giveaway that's a that's a dead giveaway this box here uh yeah it's just a bunch of random date ms63 Morgan's this is Straight Up program buyer right so this is somebody who definitely uh bought this from like a TV guy or uh through the newspaper type thing uh we're selling a box of Ms 63 Morgan's and we're only going to charge you 149.99 and uh you know that's what this is that's what this is right here you've seen it literally a hundred times I asked some of the dumbest questions I think Brian I'm going to ask a dumb one right now like how how much of this stuff the plastic stuff like this like just the cases and stuff that people bring in and and some of these old books you have just laying around it just comes in zero I'm a I'm a neat freak I'm uh we do not have clutter here uh clutter and uh piles of this stuff leads to loss and we don't uh we don't tolerate that here so when this stuff gets done process uh it's disposed of properly a lot of this like these boxes and stuff I give away to the local collectors that come in and um you know nobody like this these books and stuff will give them away if they're not all beat to hell but um just a couple of them were broken yeah when they're broken and destroyed and stuff now they just go right into the uh Into the Fire gotcha so no we do not uh my back my back office and storage areas and everything are very clean very organized I've seen some dealers online that do YouTube videos and it's just like I don't know how they exist in their workspace because for one day you can never find anything too it's like if you are if you are stolen from or you have some form of loss you'll never know until it's too late yeah and so we used to have this uh coin dealer down that way um a few miles from here and he's since stopped his shop but uh try to walk into that shop with all the stuff he had and all the books and everything you had to like squeeze in sideways yeah because you just kept all that stuff right and there's there's no sense to that no you you pretty much you couldn't even see any coins you just seen stuff no I know exactly I know you're talking about I know exactly what you're you're saying and you're right uh it was this you know and what an un not unfriendly but like unwelcoming thing to have come in as a customer right you're coming in the customer way you want to buy something or sell something and there's piles of everywhere yeah and it's like nobody wants to see that right everybody you know Chris clean also too his customer comes in and says hey I won an 1879 S Morgan boom you go right to where it is right where it's supposed to be you get it to them the customer's happy uh he's in and out or she's in and out within minutes you're not hunting and pecking trying to find that point because it's right where it's supposed to be yeah women's stacker are they coming in yeah absolutely um one today uh came in she spent just under 10 grand just buying uh gold coins uh more so now than I've ever seen all right and and uh that's great I think it's uh as part of that like we were just talking about the circle is just getting bigger uh people who are investing in um precious metals and largely uh that was male dominated for a long period of time numismatics are probably more so dominated by the presence and then than uh female but stacking definitely females are are on to it and that's great and we uh we definitely have a lot of female customers and that number is definitely growing you know they're the majority of people out there so right there's more females on Earth than there are men yeah 51 to 49 well you know they got the the women quarters out there now so women should want to collect those I would imagine well that's that's you're right that's this came out and uh that'll be interesting to see how that takes off um I think it might get a little you know if they would have came out before the state quarters they've been super hot right and everybody would want them but a lot of people got turned off by the state quarters because they you know they put they built all these books together and they spent all this time with their grandkids doing this and at the end of the day they're really just quarters yeah and so hopefully um you know that you know that doesn't put a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths but uh we'll see hopefully uh you know they take off they do well that's what this meant our mint really suffers from right is uh yeah you look at the Chinese man or Australian or Perth man they're always cranking out material with different designs cool stuff cool yeah you know whether it's you know you think it's cool at least it's different yeah Armin is historically suffered from that they just recently changed the design on Silver Eagles some people like it some people don't whatever but I mean other than that it's pretty boring stuff well and they've they're so boring that they have to steal ideas from the past because that's all they've got that's all they got they're not they're not a creative Bunch no that's that's for sure um and uh I mean it's cool you look at the Kookaburras or the koalas or the pandas at least it's a different design every single year you can put a series together and it's it's different get something to look at you got something to look at yeah exactly uh yeah you put a a box of Silver Eagles together and it's they all look the same it's just you know two numbers are changed or three numbers are changed right on listen Brian we're kind of all over the place a little bit which is what I like to do that that helps my mind because my mind is everywhere but long story short I think is as long as you are shopping in the right places you're shopping for the right things that precious metals are not a scam uh but there can be some scammy things out there with them that's that's right you gotta watch what you're doing that's right you wanna um first bit of advice that either one of us will give anybody is try to try to shop with your local guy or gal um and um you know if that's not if that doesn't work for you for whatever reason um you know then Branch out but uh it's always best to try to build a local relationship and um you know of course we're always here to help with that too but um that's the best advice I can give and like we said stay away from the TV and stay definitely stay away from the late night TV and the Obscure internet websites if uh if you belong to like some kind of coin form or precious metals form I mean ask on there like hey does anybody know this site right if people don't know it go to a site that they do know I mean there's it's not worth trying to save a couple dollars right and uh you know the other thing too is right now there's such a heavy push on Silver especially silver right now that uh when we were talking about this earlier today the like if you want to buy generic silver it's kind of right now you don't have a lot of different options right you got buffaloes you got like appx rounds Morgan head design around stuff like that stuff like that that a lot of people do consider boring right I mean that's you know buffalo rounds are there's only so many buffalo rounds you can look at and you're like okay it's just another Buffalo around right yep but at the end of the day that's what the the industry is moving so fast that's what's getting pushed out don't uh my devices don't get roped until I go into some obscure website because they got some round that is got some fancy design on it and you may or may not see your you know your your investment six weeks down the road or so so um you know stick with the more mainstream things especially if you're just getting started
