Will it start? CAT Excavator SAT in JUNKYARD 20 years!

[Music] at this old cat and this this one's going to be a challenge uh this is going to be a uh a fun will it start for us it's uh 215 is that is that even such a thing it's a 2115 I guess that would be and it's uh it was made in Belgium so the story behind this is um the he thinks the engine's locked up yeah he um the it caught on fire and uh um but there's some some guys came out 20 years ago put a new fuel pump on it and some other miscellaneous stuff he said they literally this is what man said he said they spent about5 $20,000 on it and didn't move it at all it is for sale $3,500 email me Hank hamiltonville farm.com uh I think the guys that were going to get it were looking to get it for the undercarriage check out the bucket and the thumb thing that this check this out this is pretty awesome so it's like a tree spade or something I mean it's a regular bucket but it's got these Forks or these I don't even know what that is comes out of it does have a thumb on it like a mechanical so leave a comment below if you know what that what that setup is you know when I seen a v-shaped bucket like that the first thing I thought it was like a tree spade but I'm not sure that's what you would use it for on an excavator maybe maybe I'm not sure anyway so let's see we get today is just we're just going evidently I don't have any help but today we're just going to go see if we can get this one this one's a fun challenge just to see if we can get it cranked up uh the the Rams there got a little got a little issue with them but like I say I I don't know like if the s motor is good or the what's good on it but I think he said the guys that were trying to crank it 20 years ago was trying to uh um just get it for the undercarriage I'm not sure that's the exhaust manifold that goes on the tractor itself or the excavator itself none of the gauges are any good H the levers are frozen that works that one's not frozen so that's good but this one is this one that goes left and right pedal still kind of work that one don't doesn't go down that's just for your feet but to be honest with you I mean we just don't know if we're going to be able to crank this one up to be honest because he said he thinks it was locked up but we'll find out wow my goodness Wy what have we got oursel into brother so these are like swing and well this is BT RT return tank I don't know or no guess not rotate maybe bucket you know what I mean I don't know what the I don't know what the letters are for but they're for the functions of the machine [Music] yeah my kind of man right here look at there huh what you talking about driver ah look at that dude all right I'm going to get on top of this thing and pull it pull the uh protective motor or the protective cover off of it he just had this strapped down the tin I'm sure so the hurricane went below it allz see what is well didn't have an air cleaner on it has been painted has it not I'm just guessing I don't know what you guessing balls man I'm just guessing this ain't going to work no somebody thought it was going to work they put new water hoses on and all that uh I don't know why they didn't realize the engine was locked up before they did that yeah uh yeah he said literally he said that they put $15,000 worth of Parts on it 20 years ago fuel new fuel injection pump new uh well yeah I okay I see it called on fire and they put all this in there and they didn't get it running I guess and he that's how he got it no it was said no they did that sitting here and in this year cuz he said they wanted it for the undercarriage okay let me see if it's got Earl in it that don't look like it's I mean it's definitely 90e this thing's making all while so but there it doesn't look like there's any water in it you know oh that's a clutch fan I guess the belt is still it's got decent belts on it I'm sure they replace those also sure yeah yeah yeah you can see the hose look pretty decent they look like they replaced all the hoses but if it caught on fire I just wonder if we have problems with electrical you know what I mean well that's a manual engine so you don't have to worry about that okay but when it told you it was locked up he said he thinks it's locked up sh your lot right there and see if you there anything to get a bar on that see yeah hey it could be [Applause] a golly look how much talking about but I don't think that's that must have been a replacement part or something because it ain't missing well it could have been a weight to hold something together true cuz it ain't nothing missing nothing Miss Missing [Applause] mhm okay I got some oh I must have got that on the dipstick I got some oil fresh oil on my boots it's not locked up I'm just tell you what the man told me well let's fire it up then that's good news we just put two batters in it and crank it it'll go I think so whole c a spin it'll start there right let me check this water look at you got electric fuel pump for put off in a bucket golly I ain't getting that all we won't run it long how's that I can't get to I don't know I bet we I bet you not uh you want to go straight to where these batteries were yeah I guess so huh what do that look like yeah I would I think they look pretty [Music] good yeah I think they look pretty good all right the uh there's a jumper right there yeah you know all right why is that for there pull that let me tell you that goes to the starter do it again uh that goes to the it's a 12volt starter Wy can't be I'm telling you God's honest truth I'm not kidding dude right man y'all tell me if that don't say 12vt right [Music] there where' this one go H uh to the starter that's the ground in your left hand this it's on the bottom lug the big yellow cable goes no I don't know huh no I think the big I think the yeah that small red one I think is the ground yeah I mean I can see it fine what about that one uh pull that one again it don't pull yeah I see you moving it it goes it just goes to the bottom of the like toward the uh swing motor or wherever it rotates on the bottom of the house the turntable I guess it would be all right let me get the batteries I believe the bucket over there is for like the ditch you coming down the ditch and laying the pipe oh okay cuz I said um I said uh like a tree spade uh no unless it's got hydraulic things that dig on the side that I didn't yeah I mean yeah you're right it's just if you would come down that ditch you would just it would make the right that makes sense you're supposed to finish my sentence I don't do that anymore Wy yeah right but I'll grab his battery since you walked away from him I'll get heavy one that's good I'll get them Uncle Wy oh boy matter of fact if it's a 12 booat just stick one on like the full completion of the of the process or whatever but um this one's for sale in a junkyard you know so we're not going to restore it we're not going to take it home we're not going to do anything like that and so you know we don't we just don't do that kind of stuff but maybe one day we will but we have if you have noticed we've done the last couple videos where we went out and helped people get their stuff cranked up because they were needing help making repairs on their equipment things like that so I think we're going to start doing a little bit more of that in the videos H wi need some vice grips on that need your Cutters and wash cret and this cut is long enough to put on this to get to see if this pump [Music] works see something's been something's been up with these it doesn't oh it don't need it okay you need a one here hose clamp here's one on one of mine you need it yeah but you you going to have to take one off here there's one on this other hose I got it right here that is that that's not turning it is it how's that different size you tell me how that's a different size than the up [Music] huh take that and off [Music] while all right it a ain't not yet no R and run yet we're about there though they said it was a good old tractor but it just sat around right I think it's 24 volts ain't it that starter said 12 volt on it does it it's got a sticker it says 12 volts on the top of it I thought it was 24 I would assume I assumed it was a 12vt I mean a 24 volt as well never seen one that wasn't I would have thought of that's what we had hooked to it trying to do it with jumper cables in the truck yeah that's posi yeah that's definitely different I'll get some B [Music] [Music] grips star must not be good then if they've had all that hooked up and it wouldn't spin if they thought the engine was locked it or re it was a starter but we'll find that out [Applause] [Music] too okay supposedly all the connections are made supposedly all the connections are made Wy huh supposedly all the connections are made um what you looking here I'll bring that battery around what battery then might as well leave it there cuz we going to need it there see you [Applause] struggling white sticker I got an old drag line over there it's a big old hippocrit it's I swear I forgot what kind it is but they clear like it's a it's one of the better kinds the controls is on the wrong side of it or something yes sir and we look at it one day he didn't had a motor about like that and I thought well it's a six cylinder I look like four Murphy Murphy Murphy that thing crank up sound like a big bullfrog wow was it like a banam or no it's a big old crane it's a American no it's link belt I don't know what all kinds they made yeah all right when y'all the engine's not locked up I I got on the front and turned it but it turned all way over the run but now when hooked it up to it you never got it to spin with the starter it wouldn't turn all the way over it would turn part of the way okay and then I'm up on there with a p handle and it hotter and spit well he would had some old jumper cables and batteries in the back of his car trying to crank it okay and it was so hot I didn't but I swear I could tried to keep the exul and all covered up on the thing but you know how that is yeah it's not locked it just uh either we're going to have to hook a another battery to it cuz it's sparking but it's not engaging but whenever we got the thing we drove I got it cranked it was down to St Andrew over on yeah the Cove you said on the hill over right right and we drove it up on the truck and got up here and I drove it and then we fiddle farted around there and one of the hoses on the motors up there on the front was leaking so that took a drum full of oil putting that hole there where you get it to operate right and then I cracked it up after that and it Blow the hose off up there so that's another $100 bill yeah and it's been sitting here ever since yeah the ones that had it they swear old thing run good you can tell it been burnt they put all new hoses on this the thing all muffer and you seed yeah it's sat down there by the for the yall place is on 231 that old motel that was next door to it it sit over there a while long some old fell had office down there by the sheriff department on 77 fa cloth I think and he died and then they just just got rid of it yes sir all right W I'll go get the coblin kitten thow huh you want me get the coblin kitten yeah but that old one it was going by that time they want much for the under carries you know can get one around here and then somebody going to raise the hood on it them old for trucks just run right in the hole so like a m Community junkyard [Music] ain't that red one needs to be on the ground this one yeah I mean it's grounded to the starter okay uh I don't know where the other one is it it might be good enough but that one's grounded to the starter I don't know why this this is the other one I'm sure it was grounded somewhere but I know that red one would be grounded good okay I'll take this one off and put the [Music] yeah you I bought that other little excavator and I thought what why I ain't never run one of them in my life you know but after while you can f aart around yes sir I went down the hill could nobody see me make a fool out of myself practice about like a bobcat get way off down there in the woods but they can't nobody watch you we're getting there I D got me a little Old Pond down there it's in a little spring so I dug my way out and then it come one them monsoons and wash it back in well then my Digger ain't got long enough to Boom to dig it out again so I got to renegotiate some way [Music] another [Music] that's one of them loggers down there something other one day I one know I think it was this one he said oh if it's them old ones and ain't electronic makes it operate we can work on that mod with all that computer a little bit harder yes sir they got them where you got got to have a computer to hook up to them and oh you get that you go to do this and do that and then you look around and use only all right let's see what that does huh we're going to try it long time ago used to work on water tanks they go all over you know all them old water tanks they got some kind of decoration [Music] on it I I play with around here one time I thought one of them old caterpillars and it set out here and one time it rained in it we dropped it on there we shove at the thing didn't spit out of it and after while shove it got it in there B sure with a hood full no look am I do we have the right one [Music] grounded I swear I thought it was 24 volts well we' got it in it's still if it was 24 it still should go hang the soul no in anyway yes sir yeah but unless that sticker ain't supposed to be on there I'm just not getting much fire up here I mean I'm shorting it out everywhere and just not getting no no feedback at all yeah well that muffler is in the worst possible place it can be in next to this hitting them all are you double check my work I got yeah yeah you got it you have it right positive to positive no negative to negative no you want me to go negative to positive yeah so you want it in series yeah okay I thought we said 12 volts all right I can do that but I thought I thought we were going 12 and I have no idea what I did with my [Music] wrench and then so it's positive and Ne positive and negative and then these connect together yeah I do them UND do them coming this way well yeah that's right so this positive goes on this battery yeah that negative cable goes on the negative of this battery right I'll split them around actually I'll tell you what I'll do then we can use this jumper probably this is the netive what is wiggle what is this one going to that I'm this one right here I'm moving something coming right under the radiator oh is that is that the same one you're doing huh this was that other ground cable thing which one this this ground cable that is that what you're talking [Music] [Music] about yeah see that all right then that other one now this to that there's not but two coming to the starter I don't know where that other one was you you see me wiggling one that's the yellow one the big fat yellow one where's the yellow one go to positive that's right okay perfect a lot of them industrial Motors is where you they'll swap from one to the other ain't like the back end up those bail hous a lot of them they got them how big they are and kind of universal well I mean sometimes a Cummins interchange with a John Deere but caterpillar they' be different yeah you well all you have to do really is probably just this bell housing that goes to your pumps just probably find the right boat pattern and hook up most anything I think but it would take a it would take a six cylinder to have anything else besides this old big Hi boss [Music] man [Music] wa I hear something sizzling and that one should be I don't know why that one's even damn hydraulic fluid though it's a lot higher now it was ain't it yeah we just saying that that looks like a washing machine for that all that hydraulic fluid crazy huh you think his wires are you want to double check these again just in case I mean you was getting some fire up there wasn't you yeah getting a lot more than I did there your skinners right there [Music] yeah cut that well I wanted cut me a [Music] piece I've got those two cables hooked [Music] up got some hot then here you want me to go cobbling can't get you to like a horse one it's got the copper ends on it a little more sturdy [Music] it's a red wire and I guess it was the ground here you go try that one I think I thinking I think I going you ain't in nothing that rotates are you ground I definitely a ground there that one's not oh you need it I can't get to it with all this stuff in the way [Applause] honestly I'm so what' you say just no good way to get to it is there and you not getting up here with your Cutters oh okay I see what you're going to do that's the ground though never mind that's going to the ground that's no wonder but see right here we're not getting anything my goodness that looks like it's grounded there don't it it do but that one is going to the ground on the star that the red one yeah yeah that's for sure so there to put it on except that I know H the hot back up he [Music] say all right hot's connected you got the whole battery system connected over here look here I'll show you there's something on this starter you know how when you hook it up and there spin without the bendex mhm I'm getting it I'm right on it y putting every bit to it all right well you going to take the starter I mean the that cable back off where I can drop it yeah all right she's off do you think it's possible that this starter was dragging when y'all was trying to turn it and that way turn a little bit and quit that engine was free I'm telling you when I put that bar on there it just like this turned it all the way around yes it just it has no trouble at all and I'm thinking this has got to be the problem oh we went down and got a thing and I didn't have no dang good batteries when I got it probably just a couple old car batteries and I got it cranked and how'd you start it in the there in the cab or did you hook short it out like this yeah no I ain't never been in the cab I know what all that crap done on yeah burnt didn't it or whatever it did know the last time we done it it turn part of the way and it quit so I'm up on there with a pull bar on that dang thing and I swear it would get a tight spot in it and we would fool with it an hour or two out here and it was so dang hot I thought well every time I mean the ones I done it it hooked up we're getting good fire cuz when I grounded it really made an art show but when I put it on this one wire up here that somebody had cut off like the solenoid touch it to the hot it just Arc and when I put it all the hot on one side just to make the starter motor spin not kick in nothing how hard did it get the old starter off of it well it won't be too bad take it all SI down starter turn but you turned it all the way around I swear it wouldn't go around whenever I done it and I couldn't figure out cuz I tried to keep it covered up well I didn't turn it completely around I just did it like this right here and it just free had a TI spot in it like it had water in one cyer look how easy that pretty easy right there but I mean that's super super easy yeah but I mean that that right there ain't no effort at all but I went down there in St Anders and got the thing cranked didn't sit there a while after the fell dying and then I got hard somebody to tighten up then yeah that's the tight spot he something but right there but watch your face here yeah there's the tight be yeah yeah there's your tight spot did you see if it had any water and oil no the oil's good oil is good yeah the oil was good well we've been on a bad run of them yeah that's right well it's all about me and you hanging out together Wy Wy got a free lunch from me today eating house he's smarter than you did man to yeah a he better looking ain't that something all right Uncle you got it off I got all up both of them off okay well I'm glad you said that about it sticking I swear I turn it in should have listened to the man that own the machine I mean and that's it caught years ago it sure did but that still didn't start keep this starter from spinning yeah I think it's turned to start with and then it hit that spot right he probably just needed more more juice to it that was I think that would have slung it over but Hey listen we appreciate you guys
